Chapter 42
N: Royal felt a vibration in her wings, and it was enough to stir her awake, and wondering where it came from, got out of bed and went over to her balcony. From there she watched as Mandoria went into the air and back down again and again.
Eventually, she got tired of just watching, so she changed into her day clothes and went over to the Mandorian, jumping off the balcony and gliding down. She didn't bother wearing her eyepatch; there was no point hiding anymore, and when she landed a couple of meters away, she sat down on a bench nearby.
"I see you're up and early," she spoke, "trying to fly again?"
M: Mandoria turned to Royal and smiled, "Yeah, I've been grounded for three years, if I have to wait any longer I might tear my own wings off again."
He jumped up again and almost got to 17 feet before falling back down. He wasn't deterred and simply got up and dusted himself off, "I guess being out of practice has its downsides," he joked.
He tried a few more times until eventually he asked, "What am I doing wrong, it's been so long since the first time I learned to fly that I didn't need to know how to do it."
N: Royal shrugged, "I'm the worst person to ask about how to first fly. I had an adoptive human mother, and we were both confused." She stood up and she quickly stretched her wings before folding them, "she would start off slow, try to make sure I can sustain flight a little bit at a time. Although, there was one day that Wilfred was annoyed I scared him with our cat so he made a sort of fishing hook, where he attached me to one end and hung me over a huge muddy puddle. I guess desperation, and the need for revenge, made me able to fly up and throw him in the puddle."
She stopped when she noticed she was rambling, so she paused for a moment before continuing, "So what I'm saying is that you will be able to fly in your time of need, but right now you need to realize that you're trying to fly the day after Prometheus healed you after not flying for three years. Don't push yourself too hard."
M: Mandoria's face turned down but he nodded in agreement, "I know, I'm not being fair on my body, I guess another reason I was trying is because I wanted to show Rowen that I'm still the man he married."
The former kingdom walked over and sat next to Royal, resting his arms on his knees, "I'm not oblivious, I know that he thinks he's losing me, and maybe he is in a way, I don't know, I just want to prove to him that I'm still me, but I don't even know that myself."
N: Royal hummed before responding, "Well, as someone who has only known you properly over the last couple of days, I can say that you're kind, compassionate, patient, wise, always wanting the best for your family, humble, fun to be around, and generally just a nice person. I know that physically you are different, having heard stories about you before, but if those things aren't the reason why Rowen married you, then I don't know."
M: Mandoria smiled at Royal's words, it meant so much hearing that from her and it even made his eyes flicker between blue and grey, though it wasn't enough just yet to heal his broken eyes.
"Thank you, Royal, you don't know how much that means to me," he said, rubbing his wing against hers in gratitude. They just sat there for a while more, watching the sunrise on the horizon. Eventually, Mandoria stood up and stretched, then stated, "Well, I'm going to see how Neflen is doing, because from what I heard he hasn't left Esha's side since yesterday, you can join if you want, I think he might need your reassuring words."
N: Royal agreed to join, following Mandoria towards the infirmary, when she said, "I just hope we can help them both."
Along the way, they came across Wales, who wanted to go and check on Esha, and brought food for Neflen too. Together they entered the infirmary, and they could immediately detect the grim atmosphere. As the three approached, Wales went ahead and tried to hand the Eternal a plate with pastries.
"You need to eat, Neflen," the Welshman urged, "Esha wouldn't want you to do this to yourself."
M: Neflen wouldn't respond to them, he hadn't really moved since they left him yesterday, he was still huddled in the same spot and was resting his chin on the bed. The only thing different was Esha, she was still unconscious and looked very pale, if it weren't for her shallow breathing she could have been declared dead.
"If she's going to die then it's not like it will make a difference," the Eternal muttered, "you guys don't understand how much she means to me, she was my mate, heck, sometimes I still see her as one, we had a family together, but after we lost everyone during the fall of the empire, we only had each other. If she's going to die then it's not worth sticking around."
N: Wales set the plate down, held Neflen's shoulders, and forced him to turn around, with some difficulty, so that the Eternal faced him. "Listen to me Neflen," he spoke, his red eyes looking into the other's heterochromatic eyes, "you need to have faith that she will not die, that is what everyone is holding on to, and that is what Esha is holding on to too." He sighed, "I have not experienced anything close to what you have, and I am the last person to tell you this, but your entire mindset is that Esha may die. You need to change it so that you will do your best so that she doesn't, starting with yourself."
The Brit let go of the Eternal, grabbed for the plate, and present it to Neflen, "You need the strength that she lacks right now, so that you will help her, so choose now. The puff pastry or the cinnamon roll?"
M: Neflen just stared at the pastries, contemplating Wales's words, "I'm not that hungry, but for your amusement-" he took the puff and set it on the bedside table, "-thank you, it might take me a while to not be so bleak about this, but I will try, for her."
"And we will help you through it, my friend," Mandoria reassured him, "you have my word that we will stand with you till the end, even when Esha is healed we will still be with you and your friends."
Neflen let a small smile grace his lips, "Thank you, all of you, I don't know what to say other than that."
N: "What did I say," Royal whispered to Mandoria, "Compassionate." She quickly turned her attention to Neflen, "Don't thank us just yet, you better promise me that the moment you can, you are going to sleep. If not, I'll get my sword and chase you until you do."
"Royal, is that necessary," Wales asked as he watched the hybrid walk up to him.
"Yes, sleep is necessary, dear Wales," she replied with a smile before snatching the cinnamon roll, getting a stink eye from the Welshman, "but overall I want the best for the both of you."
She looked outside and shook her head, "I should be heading off to do England's duties, otherwise that guy will have my head." Walking away pretty quickly, she called back, "Wren says thanks for the breakfast."
Wales only rolled his eyes but he couldn't help smiling. "I'll head off to breakfast then," he spoke, "Mandoria, you coming?"
M: Mandoria glanced back to Neflen, silently asking if he will be ok by himself, the eternal nodded so Mandoria nodded as well, "Yeah, I'm coming, see you around, Neflen."
As they walked, Mandoria told Wales about his attempted flight earlier, "What was it like when you first learned how to fly, I feel like I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what."
N: "I mean, it was nerve-wracking," Wales replied in all honestly, "After an entire generation was skipped, I am the next person in the family, after Grandpa, to have wings. My wing structure and shape is different from his, but I owe it to the support my family gave me, and the belief that I will fly."
As they began to approach the dining hall, he added, "One thing I do remember is that Grandpa compared flying to swimming, saying that it is just you trying to travel through different mediums. When you swim, you will change the position of your arms and hands to propel yourself through the water, so you do the same thing with your wings when you fly through the air." The Welshman stopped just in front of the doors, "I think you are doing the right thing, but you haven't given time for your wings to fully heal. Your feathers are essential for flight, so you have to have all of them back."
Just as he finished, Scotland opened the doors, since he heard his son speaking on the other side. "There you are," he smiled, but it soon weakened, "we need to do BE's work now."
Wales shook his head in disappointment before saying, "It seems I have to go, go enjoy your breakfast Mandoria," and the two of them left.
There were some already at breakfast, although most of the Saxons were still asleep. On one end of the table sat Maria and Heinrich, but the latter was just resting his head on the table while the other slowly ran her fingers through her son's hair, but on the other end sat Julian and Josef, the later occasionally glancing over to the Saxon, wondering if he should speak to him.
M: The only eternal there was Askad, sitting in the middle of the two groups, he actually camped outside of Heinrich's room since he had grown so attached to the human. When Mandoria came in he gave him an awkward smile as if saying, "Please help, the atmosphere is so tense I'm suffocating."
Mandoria understood Askad's discomfort but didn't know how to fix it since he didn't know much about the Saxons' personal histories, so he had to shrug apologetically when he sat down.
"Good morning Maria," the winged country said, trying to strike up a conversation, "I don't think I've seen you much since we've come here, how have you been?"
N: "I've been no better," Maria smiled, "although the people have picked up where we are from, they have accepted us pretty well." She looked down at her son and pushed away a piece of hair that was covering his eyes, "But this one hasn't been feeling like himself, have you, Heinz?"
Heinrich only hummed in agreement before falling quiet, so she comforted her son more before turning to Mandoria. "What about you, how are you after Prometheus healed you?"
M: "Like a new man," Mandoria declared proudly, "I haven't felt this way in a very long time, I feel like I'm one century young again."
Askad laughed a little at that, "That is very easy for you to say, for those of us who've lived for millions of years, it's pretty much impossible to feel a century old again."
Both laughed at how old they were, it sure was nice to have someone who understood that. After they got the sillies out, Mandoria switched to a more serious tone of voice, "I remember seeing Heinz hanging out with you yesterday, what were you talking about."
"Past lovers," Askad admitted, deflating slightly, "past lovers that we lost before we could become couples. Heinz had his wound reopen recently and it's still bleeding, and I think I know who the bandage is."
He reached his tail over to Josef's chair and coiled around him, dragging him closer to prove his point, "the one who opens the wound, often needs to be the one who dresses it."
N: Josef looked to Julian for help, but the young man just shrugged, as if to say "You're on your own".
The Austrian wearily looked over to Heinrich, who didn't acknowledge his presence, before asking to be freed from his scaly prison and going to sit opposite the Saxon. "Heinrich," he began, "I just want to say that-"
"Did you see her," Heinz interrupted, raising his head so he can look at the other, his eyes red from the lack of sleep, "after you died, did you see Christina?"
Taken aback by the question, he only nodded before reorienting himself.
"So why did you not attend her funeral," Heinrich then asked, and not allowing the other to answer he continued, "Why didn't you stop her from telling Mr. Wallner about the blackmail? Why weren't you there to tell her that it wasn't her fault you were dead? Why did you leave and leave her behind to the mercy of Prussia? Why?!"
Josef let the Saxon keep going, not interrupting him for a moment so the other could let it all out. Once he had finished, he hung his head in shame.
"I have no excuse for my behavior," he replied solemnly, "I was told to not intervene at all, but I could have easily broken the rule." He took off his sunglasses, and he looked up at the Saxon, his silver eyes filled with guilt, "I thought I was doing her a favor, killing myself so she didn't have to kill me during the Trials, but clearly I was wrong. It pained me when I heard about her death, her murder, and that I did nothing. Bitte, Heinz, understand that I miss my sister so much, and it kills me every day that I was given a second chance, but she couldn't."
Heinrich only stared at Josef, their old friendship flashing before his eyes before they were filled with tears. "I just miss her," he wept, "and when I see you, I see her."
Josef watched as Heinrich stood up his chair and walked towards the door, so he swiftly got up and grabbed onto the Saxon before he got too far. Before Heinz could react, the Austrian brought the other into a hug, tightly embracing him.
"Ich vermisse sie auch (I miss her too)," Josef muttered as Heinrich began to cry into his shoulder, "ich vermisse sie auch."
M: The countryhumans didn't interfere, they knew that it wasn't in their place to speak on anyone's behalf so they remained silent and let the two have their moment. Eventually, Mandoria walked up to Maria and put a hand on her shoulder.
"I think you're the best person to help them right now," he stated, "none of us know the horrors you all have been through, not even me or Johann, so as much as I want to help, I think this is the job of a mother, not a friend."
N: Maria nodded in agreement as she got up from her seat, walking over to the pair and wrapping an arm around them both. "Schnell wieder ins Bett (let's take you back to bed)," she told Heinrich softly, and she turned to Josef, "You may come too."
Josef nodded and he helped the mother take the Saxon away, supporting him the entire way. Once they left, there was an awkward silence that ensued in the dining hall, so Julian spoke up. "I should probably check on Prometheus," he muttered as he stood up and retrieved Josef's sunglasses, "and hope he wakes up soon."
M: The countryhumans nodded, "We all hope that he does, not only because Esha's life depends on it, but because he's our friend and we're all worried about him."
"Actually, is it ok if I come with you," Askad asked, "I've heard people talking about the possibility that Sofia is alive, and although I don't really believe that anymore, I still want to look around for proof."
N: "Sure, you can," Julian replied, "although if you are going to explore the cave, do be careful."
Once they were ready, the pair slowly made their way toward Prometheus, and although he had only been there a couple of times, Julian made it his duty to explore the cave so now he knows the place decently well. As they made their way towards the healing chamber, and specifically the same room that Mandoria was healed in, he warned, "What you may see now is something that you may not ... conventionally see."
A bluish light was emitting from the room, and when they entered they saw Prometheus, not lying down on the crystal table, but floating in the air. On the table stood his staff, and from it seven large rings of light in the arrangement of Prometheus' symbol slowly spinning above it. Above that, in his Celestial form, Earth was suspended in the air as he slept, and a large protective dome surrounded him as he did.
"Earth really needed to rest," Julian explained, "he hasn't slept properly since the meteorite destroyed the dinosaurs. Usually, for a Celestial his size, it's not a big deal, but it does drain him for staying awake for this long." The young man quickly checked on the Celestial, making sure that the staff will not move and that the symbol was spinning at the right speed. When he saw Askad try to enter the dome and fail, he walked out and said, "You were not given permission to enter by Earth, so you can't enter.
Once he was done, he faced Askad, "So, do you need any help to find proof?"
M: Askad nodded, though he was still staring at Prometheus with wonder. "There was never a meteorite, that's just what the humans were told to hide the fall of the empire, dinosaurs lived alongside magical creatures but they themselves weren't magical, that's why you only find their bones and no one else's. Eternals don't rot if we die, but just like any magical creature our bodies just disappear given enough time."
When he was done with his history lesson, he led Julian to the chief's former room where Chrysalis set up shop.
"I feel like this is the best place to start," the naga said, "I don't know what we're looking for exactly, just anything out of the ordinary I guess."
N: Julian went straight to work, looking through the crates and shelves, anything that may catch his eye. He was just skimming the shelves when he noticed a particular book, so he pulled it out.
Just as he guessed, the book seemed more worked out than the rest, and it wasn't collecting dust, as if to indicate it was used often. Opening it to the first page, there was a note containing a single sentence, and it was signed off at the bottom.
"Dear White Rose, stop being lazy and write it yourself.
The Little Black Rose."
When Julian flipped over the page, he was surprised by the amount of writing, and as he looked closer, he began to notice it was the names of different towns and cities.
"Manchester, Glasgow, Sheffield," Julian began to read out loud, "Belfast, Dublin, Bristol. What is this supposed to mean?" Turning to Askad, he called out, "Do you know what this is?"
M: Askad looked over his shoulder and hummed, "No, I don't know anything about the new world, we've been underground for hundreds of thousands of years. Although, I do recall Ireland saying that Dublin was his capital city, but that's the extent of my knowledge."
He looked at the writing on the first page and hummed again, "These roses sound like code names, the question is for whom."
N: "Whoever they are," Julian commented, "clearly this 'Little Black Rose' is annoyed with 'White Rose'." After a bit more thinking, he got an idea, "maybe we should ask the British. England is often associated with a red rose, so maybe they have an idea who these are." With that, he closed the book and tucked it under his arm as he continued to search for more clues.
After a couple of minutes, he asked, "Askad, have you found anything?"
M: Askad didn't answer, he was laying down in front of the cage that had his daughter's wing, running his fingers on the bars as he stared at the small pool of dried blood.
"She never deserved this," he muttered sadly, "what 2-year-old child deserves to be ripped limb from limb while they're screaming for mercy."
N: Julian made his way to Askad, wondering why he didn't answer the question, when he saw the Eternal near the cage. He let the Eternal have his moment but he lowered his shoulders, knowing that Askad can't stay here for too long.
"I think we have found all we can today," he spoke softly as he walked up to the naga, "let's head back and we can find more answers from this book."
It took a while, but Askad did eventually get up and the pair made their way back towards the compound, and when they entered, they came across Scotland and Celtica, who were trying to resolve an issue.
"If you're not too busy," Julian interrupted them, weary of the pairs of eyes on him, "could you tell us what this means?" He opened up the book to the first page again with the note, indicating to the names, and he explained where they were.
Scotland gladly took the book, wanting to distract himself, and he hummed when he saw the names. "Well, 'White Rose' is easy enough. You said you got it from Chrysalis' room, right? He's the White Rose since it is used to represent the Jacobites." He read over the note again, "However, I'm not sure who the 'Little Black Rose' is. Sorry."
"That's because it is in English, that's why you don't know," Celtica spoke, "Little Black Rose in Irish is Róisín Dubh, and it is a sort of nickname the humans give to Ireland." The Celt frowned, "But why would Ireland be talking to Chrysalis?"
M: "Chrysalis was in Ireland, remember," Askad stated, "and Ireland confirmed that he talked with Chrysalis before he realized who that monster was. I wonder if Chrysalis manipulated him into writing something but he turned him down, that wouldn't really explain the code names though, you think he's hiding something?"
N: "I know we've had our differences," Scotland replied, "but he wouldn't lie about this. Yet again, we don't fully know what is happening in his country, so we don't know."
Just as he finished, Royal popped her head into the room. "Finally, I've found you," she said to Askad, "may you come with me; Chrysalis just woke up and maybe he can tell us any useful information about your daughter. Just ... promise me you're not going to enter his cell and do the same thing you did to Saxon, or anything magical at all. You will have him once we are finished. Obviously only if you want to."
"May I join," Julian asked.
Not seeing the problem if he did, the hybrid shrugged and nodded before heading to the dungeons, waiting for them to follow.
M: "It's not like it will affect him anyway," Askad grumbled, "he was laughing while he watched us die, a dream spell won't work. I'll meet you down there, I'm going to grab Uskaine ... I ... I just need some backup to face him again."
A few minutes later and the two eternals came down to the dungeon, it was slightly awkward for Uskaine to walk down the steep steps but he managed alright."
"Alright, we're here," the centaur announced, "how on earth do you plan on getting him to talk?"
N: "Interrogation," Royal said, although her attention was focused on the book in her hands, as Julian gave it to her to check, "I will try to talk to him, and if he cooperates, that is good, otherwise Wren takes over," she snapped the book shut, "and her way of interrogating gets a bit ... messy."
Keeping the book in hand, they walked towards the insurgent's cell, and there waiting for them was Saxon, keeping an eye on the insurgent so he didn't escape. Inside sat Chrysalis, his wrists chained to the wall and his ankles chained to the floor, and although he was still injured from when he got knocked out, his twisted smile was still plastered on his face, and it only grew when he saw the Eternals. Royal motioned the Eternals and Julian to sit further away while she got a chair and sat right at the bars.
"Well isn't it Uskaine and Askad," Chrysalis chuckled, tilting his head to the side with amusement, "long time no see. How has life been treating you boys, huh?" He eyes the centaur's legs, "Looks like you can walk again, do you want me to fix that?"
"AHEM," Royal spoke loudly, getting the insurgent's attention, "now that I have gotten your attention, Mr. Chrysalis, can I just call you Chrysalis, yes? Ok. I would just like to ask," she placed her elbows on her knees, "how was it to be beaten by a girl?"
"Excuse me," the insurgent replied, clearly confused and the question confused everyone there.
"My question is very simple, Chrysalis," the hybrid smirked, "we came in and within a short time you were knocked out, I mean, if you ask any guy, that was kind of lousy of you." She stood up and began to pace back and forth, tapping on each bar as she did, "You, some random insurgent, weakly tries to barricade himself from a goddamn Eternal, gets thrown around by Esha, knocked out by me, you were beaten."
His smile wavered, "I was not beaten-"
"How did my boot taste I wonder? Please enlighten me."
Chrysalis sighed, although there was a smile on his face, "It tasted like true English dirt, the ones that only you and your brother can hold." He looked dead into the hybrid's eyes, "I don't know why you are doing this, dear Royal, you are truly English, more English than England himself, having German blood tainting his-"
At that comment, Saxon growled and took a step forward, but Royal spread her wing to block his way.
"You know better than anyone that the ordinary English are angry and tired of what this so-called English country has done to them, and that his son is only following his footsteps. Your people are as angry as the Scots on the shitshow they pull every single day, and they only ask for one thing, for Scotland to be their king, not Great Britain." He paused as he softened his smile, although there was no warmth in it, "Royal, you can get rid of every problem if you just agree. You don't even have to be by my side, but a simple coup doesn't hurt."
The Hybrid stood still as she listened, taking in every single word and not responding to what he is saying. Chrysalis took it as an opportunity to turn to Askad. "How was the wing, Skady," he laughed coldly, "do you want another one so you can make your boyfriend of yours a pegasus?"
M: Uskaine growled and snapped his fingers, Chrysalis's head suddenly flung to the side like he got punched by some invisible force, "watch your fucking mouth, you may think we're weak because you caught us by surprise, but you don't realize the pit you have dug yourself into!"
Askad pat his mate to tell him to ease up, that he wasn't theirs yet so they had to be careful of what they did.
"I would actually," Askad said, "along with the rest of her, everyone says that what you did back there was a ruse, so I'll be blunt, where is she?"
N: "Did you not get the memo," Chrysalis groaned, the whole room was spinning but he was still able to shake his head in disappointment, "she is six feet under." He turned to Royal, "So what do you think of my proposition?"
Royal held her finger up as if to say she was still thinking, before replying, "nah, I'm not feeling particularly patriotic today, besides I already got an act of treason under my belt, not really thinking of adding another one. But," she turned to face the insurgent, "I am interested in what you just said. 'Do you want another one?' That is in the present tense, as if you can do it now, and the wing Askad found looks fresh, so that means that Sofia is alive."
"No, what I meant to say is-"
"And back in the cave, you called Sofia 'magnificent', and people only add such descriptive words if you actually know the person, not just torturing them."
"You have no proof," Chrysalis pointed out, "you can make your claims, but it will all amount to nothing."
"But you see, my dear Chrysalis, I do," Royal leaned against the cell, "you see, I did some digging, and I found out that Arthur Beckerel is your inside man to the British family." Chrysalis' face fell as she continued, "he confessed to everything, telling me about your antics, how you move from place to place with Sofia," her eyes lit up, "and that you are cooperation with the Irish insurgent Róisín."
"You're doing WHAT," Saxon snapped, angered by the new revelation, "are you an idiot?!"
"And there goes your only support of you getting out of here alive," the hybrid announced, malice glistening in her eyes, and to the insurgent's horror, she waved the book in front of him, "'Dear White Rose, stop being lazy and write it yourself. The Little Black Rose.' Seems like you two are close, it would be a shame if she were to come here."
"She has nothing to do with it," the insurgent growled, tugging at his chains.
"And look at that, we have hit a soft spot ladies and gentlemen. It's ok, little Chrysalis, nothing will happen to her, only if you tell us where Sofia is."
Chrysalis hesitated, "I will rather give up Róisín than reveal anything to you Brits. And don't call me little."
"Wow, aren't you an arsehole to the lovely Róisín, and of course you are little, even Arthur saw how insignificant you were next to the greatness of Great Britain, that's why he left your sorry excuse of an insurgent."
Chrysalis growled at the insults, and although he didn't say anything, his pride and ego were definitely hurt.
"Since you're not going to give us the location, as you have proved to us that Sofia is alive-"
"I didn't-"
"Hush child, the adult is talking. Anyway, since you will stay silent, then we will force it out of you." The hybrid closed her eyes, and when she opened them, one of her eyes was bronze. Wren unsheathed her dagger, which she always kept on her, and she held it up for the insurgent to see.
"Honestly, I am not in the mood of opening you up," Wren spoke nonchalantly, "but I think I know who is." She turned to Saxon, who was giving Chrysalis the death stare the entire time, and handed over the dagger to him, "he's all yours, mentor."
The entity gladly snatched the dagger and called for a guard to open the cell, and while he did, Wren ushered Askad, Uskaine, and Julian away and out of the dungeons. "If you want to save your eardrums," she advised, "it is best you don't stay here."
M: "No," Askad said firmly, "After what he did to my daughter, I want to watch everything."
"Askad, I don't think that is a good idea," Uskaine stated, "you're shattered, you're not in a stable mindset, and watching someone being tortured will do you more harm than good."
"Don't speak for me Uskaine," Askad hissed, "you weren't there, you didn't see what happened to Sofia, you don't get to decide what is right for me."
Uskaine was taken aback, never had the naga spoken to him like that, so when Askad went back to the cell to watch his mate didn't stop him, he just huffed in frustration and stomped off.
N: Watching the two walk in different directions, Wren brought hands together and thought out loud, "Should I be the responsible adult right now and do the right thing?"
Julian raised a brow, both with confusion as to why she asked such a question and concern, "Yes?"
After a moment, she said, "You know what, you go with Uskaine and I'll go to Askad," and with that, she briskly walked back to the dungeons.
"Why don't I go to Askad? I barely know Uskaine!"
"I can deal with him better, besides, I get to see Chrysalis get tortured."
Julian shook his head and walked in the direction Uskaine went.
———
"You go against my direct order," Saxon growled the moment he entered the cell, ordering the guard to release Chrysalis before locking the two into the cell, "I told you to never, in any circumstance, work with any insurgent, and that is a rule that you swore to abide for exchange of my protection." He marched up to the insurgent and grabbed him by the collar, "Now that you have broken it, you will tell me of the exact location of where you are hiding Sofia."
"Bold of you to assume that I will tell you-" Chrysalis began but was cut off by the entity stabbing the dagger into his shoulder.
"I'm sorry, were you saying something," the entity spat, "listen to me closely, Chrysalis, I am your god and devil, I am your savior and executioner, and right now for your disobedience, you will be punished. But just answer this one question," his face softened a little, "what we're you going to do to England if he didn't cooperate?"
Chrysalis hesitated, and the hesitation was enough for Saxon to shove the insurgent roughly against the wall before he grabbed his hair and slammed his face to the stone floor.
"What were you going to do, huh," the entity shouted, full of anger as he grabbed the other's arm and began to pull it backward, "were you going to do this?" He pulled on his arm to the point where it seemed it was going to rip off, and Chrysalis screamed in pain as he begged for Saxon to stop.
"Or were you going to do this?" The entity got the dagger and stabbed it into the back of Chrysalis' leg, and slowly dragged it down to the man's knee, and whenever he begged him to stop, he would demand for the location of Sofia. When he didn't, the entity continued.
Saxon didn't register that Askad had re-entered the dungeons, and although he was making Chrysalis go through hell for 10 minutes straight, he felt as if he was just getting started.
Eventually, he made Chrysalis lie down on his back, and he sat on the man's stomach as he threw away the dagger and used his hand's to slowly squeeze his head. The both of them were covered in blood, and the insurgent could barely move, there was not a place on his body where it wasn't broken, a large scar stretching over it, or just in general pain, and what Saxon was doing made it worse, so he tried to wriggle himself free, but he couldn't. He knew he couldn't punch him, as he is the Head of Insurgents, no insurgent can physically hurt him, so he only screamed in agony as he futilely attempted to push Saxon.
"Where is Sofia?"
"A-mhàin thar mo mharbhan (over my dead body)!"
"It won't be yours," Saxon hissed as he lowered his face so they were a mere inches apart, "it will be Róisín's."
"I don't fucking care about her!"
"We will see," Saxon smirked as he sat up and yelled, "Guard, alert the soldiers that when they see Róisín, they have to kill her on sight."
"No! Don't you dare touch her!"
"SO WHERE IS SOFIA?!"
"SHE'S IN THE NEIGHBOURING TOWNS, GODDAMN IT!!"
"WHERE?!"
Chrysalis didn't say anything for a moment before whispering, "She's six feet under."
Saxon was about to land another punch when what the insurgent said finally clicked, so he got up and called the guard to open the cell for him, leaving Chrysalis in utter pain on the floor.
