I'm a believer

As soon as I felt better, I walked out of the bathroom as if nothing happened. When I made it to the table, everyone was staring at me. "Are you ok?" Lisa asked me. "Yes, I'm fine," I said as normally as I could back. "Are you sure?" Mike wanted to make sure. I can see now that people are right about Mike being the fatherly figure of the Monkees. I appreciate that he cares.

"I'm fine guys, there's no need to worry, I will say a few things about me though," I started. "I'm a sophomore in college, I'm a huge fan of your show, people usually think I'm crazy, and I can play the piano pretty well," I explained. "That sounds fascinating," said Davy. "Why do people think you're crazy?" Micky asked. "Because people aren't huge fans of classic rock or anything that isn't pop or rap," I said and winced at myself when I said rap.

"Ah, well we don't think you're crazy at all," Peter told me and made me smile. Once we were done eating, we went back to the Monkee's pad in the Monkee mobile. They plopped down on the couch while Davy sat on the stairs. But then Micky perked up. "Hey! I just remembered, Neil Diamond is letting us record one of his songs!" "Oh yeah, I forgot about that," said Mike.

"What song is it?" I curiously asked, yet I knew the answer. "It's a song called 'I'm a believer'," Peter told us. That was one of my favorite songs, but I will be even more excited when they mention or record my most favorite song of all time by them. It'll take some time though because that song is on their 4th album and that came out in 1967.

"We're going to head out to the studio now and record that song, would you 2 like to come with us?" Micky asked. "Sure," Lisa answered for us both. We went back into the Monkee mobile and Mike drove us to the studio. Neil Diamond was there waiting and ready to help them. "Hello Monkees," he said to them. They waved to him and we all went in to the studio.

He gave them the lyrics and the instrumental tactics to the song and they began working on the song. It took about 3 hours to complete.

"I thought love was only true in fairy tales, meant for someone else, but not for me. Ah, love was out to get me, that's the way it seemed, disappointment haunted all my dreams. Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer, not a trace, of doubt in my mind. I'm in love, I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried. I thought love was more or less a given thing, seems the more I gave, the less I got. What's the use in trying? All you get is pain, when I needed sunshine, I got rain. Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer, not a trace, of doubt in my mind. I'm in love, I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried. Ah, well alright. Ah, love was out to get me, that's the way it seemed, disappointment haunted all my dreams, Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer, not a trace, of doubt in my mind. I'm in love, I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried. Yes, I saw her face, now I'm a believer, not a trace, of doubt in my mind. Said I'm a believer yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. Said I'm a believer, yeah (I'm a believer)."

Neil Diamond was very happy with how the song turned out and he's actually going to let the Monkees use 2 other songs that he wrote. The Monkees were very happy with this and decided to celebrate. We went back to the pad and Mike got the pretzels. Micky got some cake that was apparently hidden in the fridge. "Um, how did that fit in there?" Lisa asked him. "Magic," he said and handed her a slice.

She laughed at his response and somewhat blushed when he handed her the plate. Those 2 look cute and I really hope they can hit it off. Mike handed me a cup of pretzels and I thanked him. Davy then gave me a slice of cake and smiled. "You know, you're very sweet and very beautiful too," he said. "Thank you Davy," I responded.

We ate the food and cleaned up the small mess afterward. Mr. Schneider had cake all over him and someone needed to clean him. "Who's turn is it to clean Mr. Schneider?" Mike asked. "I think it's Peter's," Micky said. He sounded like he was lying though. "I cleaned him last time, it's your turn Micky," Peter said. He slumped down in defeat and got the utensils he needed. When he was done, Mr. Schneider looked as good as new. "Well done Micky," Mike told him.

The phone then rang. Mike went to grab it and said, "Hello?" There was silence and he kept saying random things like "Oh I'm good, how about you?" or "We're doing nothing right now." Once he put the phone down, Peter went in and said, "Was that your girlfriend?" "No, the news media," he answered. I just looked confused and rolled with it in the end. They would usually do those phone gags in their show.

When you're actually with them and they do it, it's actually pretty weird. It's more funny when they do it in their show. This must be a part of their normal life. At least they live their parts which is nice.
