Chapter 9 : The Season Of Love

Aaliya stumbled caressing her cheek after Abhi's raging slap..  Arjun held her arms embracing her..!..  She saw the same Abhi who was years before, when he was ripped off by Pragya..

She never in her dream imagined that this day would appear for her.. She felt stuttering, not because Abhi slapped her in front of everyone.. but he smacked her for that person, whom she scorned all her life..

She wiped off her tears and Arjun sounded softly.. Aaliya.. Let's get in and figure out.. What was the need to build up your bitter words..!?.. Don't push it in your way.. We will speak about it.. She turned giving him a bland look.. While Abhi took Pragya and Kushi inside, as Aaliya kept watching him..

You remember Arjun.. Once I told you.. that this lady will asunder bhai from me.. She will scatter and  splay everything.. I was right.. On that day.. And even today.. But I never thought that I would lose you too along with bhai..  Says Aaliya and Arjun sighs saying.. Come on Aaliya.. Stay calm and please don't scratch your brain with specious thoughts.. Let it go..!..

Or what else I can expect from you..?.. You  both have let me go Arjun.. You showed that how important she is to you than me.. Aaliya sobbed stepping back and Arjun signs Krishna to take Aaliya inside..

Krishna walked near Aaliya saying.. Di, I think Arjun is right.. We should once listen to Abhi.. But Aaliya didn't give any attention to her words and walked into the house quickly..

Arjun and Krishna sighted each other feebly.. This is all because of you.. Why did you let her know that we are here..!?.. Or at least you could have informed us that she is coming here.. Arjun scolds her..

Arjun.. It happened unexpectedly.. She overheard papa's conversation with Abhi.. Immediately she rushed here.. I don't know how to stop her.. Papa asked me to follow her..  I did it.. She says in a casual tone, while Arjun stood throwing her a furious look.. While she continued.. But you..!.. Why did you open the door..!?.. You were that screwy.. you didn't see the time.. You opened the door and welcomed her in.. and now blaming me.. Krishna whined at him.. And Arjun shook his head saying.. Now, it is gonna be too tough.. How will I explain her everything..?..

But Arjun, She is the one.. I mean, that girl.. who was with you and Abhi in your army camp.. right..?!.. Krishna asks in a hazy tone.. While Arjun nods his head slowly..

Oh.. Now, I'm getting everything.. She is.. Abhi's.. .. She pauses, looking at Arjun, who stood fretful.. After which, he gestures her to get in.. and she followed him into the house..

In Abhi's room..

I'm sorry Pragya.. Aaliya spoke alot.. I know how rough she was with you.. which she shouldn't have been.. I.. I.. Abhi stammered with his words that stuck upon looking at Pragya who gave him a fleecy  smile..

I don't Abhi.. I don't feel any hurt that Aaliya preached on me.. Infact if she wouldn't have done it, I would have felt more sinful.. I'm feeling appeased.. She is your best sister.. your only sister.. You don't have to be sorry.. Pragya says.. and Abhi kept chasing her eyes that stirred his soul..

She kept looking deep into his eyes, which were promising her that he is still loving her with all his feelings.. which is always true.. While he kept gazing at her feeble eyes, which assured her love for him is still alive..

Abhi.. Wake up..!.. We are getting late.. Arjun pats Abhi's shoulder, who was in his deep sleep inside the blanket.. Arjun tied his shoe lace and stood up.. Stretching his arms widely, he gave quick little jumps and glanced at Abhi who was still asleep..

Arjun unveiled the blanket away and saw Abhi, who was in his slumber.. just then he noticed him, who had her watch clinched in his palm.. Arjun pulled it slowly that aroused his slumber..

He gave a solid punch over Arjun's stomach that was impetuous.. Arjun moved back squeezing his arms over his stomach and Abhi checked the watch and looked at Arjun who looked gloomy yet maddened..

Aaagghhh..!. that was lunatic Abhi.. It's paining man.. Arjun frowned along with his words.. You are inane Arjun.. Why did you  try to steal mine..!?.. Abhi highly tempered his tone asking Arjun..

Letting out a sigh.. Arjun gave him a sullen look and says.. Seriously Abhi.. I'm stealing..!?.. he shimmered his eyes.. while Abhi throws a pillow over him and stood sounding furiously.. Or what you were trying to do!?..

That's too much Abhi.. It is you who stole her watch and now accusing me as a thief.. You are getting out of control day by day.. Better hit on with your reality to her.. Or else I will take charge.. Arjun says sternly..

Abhi gasps after listening to Arjun and was about to reply, but stopped as they witnessed him standing at the door.. Chief..!.. Arjun exclaimed.. and Abhi looked around the mishmash beauty of their room..

Abhishek, I didn't surmise this from you.. He sounded curt.. and Abhi felt his whole body tremor with fear.. Arjun as usual stood spotless.. and their state got worse as he walked in towards them.. Abhi tucked his palm inside his pocket and quickly pulled it out..

I can't believe that you did this.. Their Chief again voiced puzzling them.. He faced Arjun and says.. I know about Arjun,  how lagging he is on time.. But you too..!?.. he completes looking back at Abhi, who sighs out of the fright..

It's 6.10 now.. I want you both to be on ground at 6.20..!.. He ordered them and disappeared like a flash..

Abhi settles  back over the bed tiredly and Arjun shoved him with the pillow..

On the ground...

I will take my revenge very soon Abhi.. Arjun murmured into his ears, and Abhi replied.. What did I do..!?.. Because of you we both are punished to run 30 rounds around the ground .. You know how drained I will be at mid of the training session.. And before starting it, this too.. I'm already drooping man.. Arjun annoyed his tone..

Come on Arjun.. Not even 3 rounds you are done with.. and you are getting drained.. Shut up and run fast.. Abhi says looking all around the place while running behind Arjun.. As soon as he completed, he was hit hardly and saw Arjun standing firm in front of him..

Arjun..!.. Why did you stop..?.. Abhi choked up his fury.. Arjun gasps and says.. Stop cracking my patience Abhi.. Either you are going to propose her, or I'm gonna do it..!..

Abhi wrecked opening his eyes wide, and Arjun urged saying.. No.. no.. I meant to say that, either you propose her, or I will inform her about your feelings..

Abhi rolled his eyes over him, and Arjun miffed his voice saying.. Abhi.. you are serious about her right.. or it's just an attraction..!?

Abhi started racing him, while Arjun followed him.. Abhi... Will  you  speak something..?..  asks Arjun..

Attraction.. no Arjun.. this  is  more  than  attraction..  Whenever she is been spotted by my  eyes,  I get perky vibes around me..  She  seems much blissful to me,  she  is so captivating for me..!..  Abhi sounded chirpy.. 

Arjun clutched his shoulders and  halts him, as Abhi  turned facing  him.. So  you  are  really serious about  it..!..

Abhi nods and  says.. Of course,  I am.. but I don't  know  about  her.. I mean.. I don't  know  nothing  about  her.. It's been more than  a month  she  is  here,  she  is  wandering around us,  she  is  fond to everyone here,  and  she  is..  ..  Abhi paused when  Arjun interrupted him..  Abhi..  relax,  take  a breath..  if  you  wanna  know  about  her..  why  don't  you  go  and  talk  to  her..  befriend her..  make her  feel about  what  you  feel for  her.. 

That's impossible..  Look at me..  I.. I can't do that..  I mean..  befriend her..  You  know Arjun..  I become voiceless when she appears in front of me..  says Abhi.. 

That won't be nice.. I always have thought that Aaliya is my family,  and then you came in..  as my friend..  and you have become our family..  I never had space for anyone other than you two in my life.. 

But now, this girl is stretching my heart..  She has captured my every single second..  The first time when I saw her,  she looked shaggy..  I don't know anything about her till this second..

For the past three weeks, she is with us.. I'm surrounded with people here, though she is that one human to whom, my attention has gone.. 

There is something strangely ecstatic, oddly fascinating and infinitely magnetic about her.. But, I fear.. that  fear is the killer of my fascination.. Abhi sounds unredeemed..

Okay fine.. Let me talk to her..  listen to me.. this is the only way to convey her.. I'm sure you are not gonna do it.. And also we don't know how many days she is going to be with us.. Arjun sounds lured.. 

Abhi nods his head negatively and says.. No Arjun.. What if she gets misconceptions!?..  And that won't be a good impression..  Also, I have to think about Aaliya.. 

Why do you have to worry about her..!?..  Aaliya will be happy  if she gets to know about this..  And I'm sure Pragya will discern you.. Abhi,  this is your life.. and I want you to have the best one.. So,  please.. let me talk to her once.. I'm sure she too is feeling the same for you.. As Arjun completes, Abhi shrunk his eyes puzzled at him.. 

Haan Abhi, I should have said this to you before, Pragya has a complete record on you.. she is been enquiring about you,  particularly about you to Dr. Kumar.. He informed me this two days back.. In fact she has extended her stay for two more months.. She has submitted the papers and waiting for the approval.. I'm sure she  is doing  this  for  you.. Why don't you think like this.. that, what  you seek, is seeking for you..!.. 

Arjun's words felt Abhi to rend the air.. his lips formed a sublime smile, while  his hands ran through his hair ruffling it abruptly.. Arjun saw his demure actions and started laughing at him, making him more reserve.. 

Stop pulling my legs Arjun,  remember how you were at your time.. Abhi mocked at  him..

Ahaan.. Yes I remember,  how you were amusing me in front of your sister.. You know how  flustered I was..!.. This  is  my  turn.. and  I will return everything little bit more..  Says Arjun with a gleeful smile..

Abhi with bitter face says.. You are doing much more than that.. Stop it.. Or else I need to clutch your classes to Aaliya this weekend.. 

Arjun laughs again hardly.. and sounded energetic.. You  can't,  because we are going to the survival camp for next five days.. so  this  weekend we won't be meeting Aaliya.. Also I had informed her already.. 

Oh yes.. this completely slipped out of my mind.. Abhi panicked.. Now stop over reacting and  break the ice..  Says Arjun, as Abhi sights voided.. and Arjun continues.. I mean.. to Pragya.. talk to her..  please..!..

Arjun..  stop pestering me.. You look much desperate than me..  Abhi swiped saying so.. Why shouldn't I..!?..  Because you have fallen in love.. !.. Which I never imagined even as a dream.. It's weird nah..  someone like you too have that feeling.. Arjun giggles slamming at him.. 

Oii.. What do you mean by that..!?..  Am I not a human..?.. Abhi  inquests him..  Arjun presses his lips hard saying.. No no.. Abhi..  I mean to say that..  You seem to be always moody..  rough.. fuzzy..  rugged.. and..  ..  Abhi at once twisted his ear and Arjun whines  in pain, just then.. they heard that voice.. 

Abhishek.. !..  That voice sounded familiar to the boys..  Flipping their faces aside, they were startled looking at him..  Chief.. Good morning..!.. Arjun stood erect wishing his morning..

Arjun.. Abhishek.. I'm sure both of your morning is in a good spirit.. in that case.. I'm throwing in more sweetness to your punishment.. After completing the thirty rounds,  you two are going to the rifle court and will make the arrangements for training..  But you two are suspended to attend the training session today.. 

Hearing him, Arjun's eyes popped out and Abhi smiles replying.. Yes.. Chief.. We will do it immediately.. and Arjun was startled at his words, while their Chief walked away in disbelief.. 

Abhi endured his punishment,  and still Arjun stood stuck over the ground..  Arjun.. speed up..  We have to be in rifle court soon.. Abhi alerts him.. 

Arjun scuttled his steps and reached Abhi.. racing behind him.. he says.. Gone crazy Abhi.. you are happy getting punished..!?.. 

Yes, I am.. because you know who will be there at the court..  Abhi blushed taking his pace quickly.. Arjun jolts halting his legs and hit his head, making  miffed faces at  him..

Same day, after the time of sunset..

Abhi stuck his eyes out  of  the  window, starring at the  moon..  Arjun grabbed his  attention walking inside  their room and says.. Abhi..  make  sure  that  you  pack  all  the  stuffs.. and  please wake  up  early.. I don't  want to get punished tomorrow..  And  I reckon.. this time,  he  will  surely  make  us  walk  from  here  to  the  camp.. 

Arjun..  I  don't  have spirits to this  camp..  Abhi sounded doleful.. What..!?.. you  have  gone frenetic in real.. Arjun howls at him.. and Abhi made pity faces.. 

Okay.. Fine.. Don't  come.. you  are expert in making excuses..  and you are Chief's favorite too.. But I feel grieved for  Pragya.. She  will surely feel alone  in your absence.. Arjun sat over the bed saying so.. 

I know  you are expert in telling lies.. Abhi says and settles next to him.. Well,  then.. you  know  that  Dr.  Kumar doesn't lies.. Arjun whispers in his ears, and  Abhi smiles with a sparkle in his  eyes.. he hugs Arjun and kisses over his cheek, making Arjun stupor..

The first day of the camp has completed.. No, not the day.. The time was 8.20 pm in her watch,  which Abhi holds with him, with which his eyes glued at.. he keenly heard the tick.. tick noise,  while his eyes moved along with the hand that denoted the time..

Are you going to  speak with  her..  or sit here all nights with her watch..!?.. asks Arjun, who sat opposite to him in front of the bonfire.. but still Abhi remained quiet glaring at her watch.. 

Your silence won't make her know your love for her.. You should speak to her, now..!..  Arjun turns up his voice a little loud.. that disturbed Abhi's attention away from her watch..

Abhi threw him a piqued sight, and Arjun continued.. You are completely mousy.. why don't you just talk to her..?.. this is your finest chance.. and also you don't have another choice..

Abhi kept quiet and again focused his eyes back at the watch.. Arjun was at the edge of  his ill temper, he leaned forward and  snatched the watch from him.. Abhi  moved closer to him and says.. Stop hounding me Arjun.. I don't know what happens to me, when I see her around me.. I feel the extreme of numbness..

Arjun hit his head in hindrance and says.. I wish Aaliya was here to hear your words.. She would have forgotten that you are her big brother and spank your shoulder until you spit out everything to Pragya.. But unfortunately, that's not possible.. But don't you ever expect me to be Arjun all the time.. If needed I will stand on Aaliya's foot to make you do it at once..

God Arjun.. I'm scared..!.. Abhi  says in a spoofed tone.. and Arjun sights at him agitated.. I'm not joking.. Better be serious.. Arjun sounded tough..

You said that so easily.. I wish you could be my heart.. only then you will feel how cold my  foot is.. Says Abhi..

That's not done Abhi.. You are twisting me.. Why don't you try to over come your fright..?..  Why are you still stuck with your nightmare..!?.. You are wasting your precious time.. Says Arjun..

Abhi seizes the watch from him and settles it inside his track pocket.. He sterns his voice and says.. Don't urge me Arjun.. We both don't have any sign about how and who she is..!.. I don't want to take a risk.. I will never forgive myself if my feelings make her feel any hurt..

Whose feelings are gonna hurt whom..!?.. that feminine voice extracted the boys heed towards her.. Abhi and Arjun gulped looking at her standing a little far, behind  Abhi..

Abhi corners his eyes to the extreme edge towards her, as she stood at the side of his eye sight.. While Arjun heaves at Abhi, who looks at him deserted..

She  walked towards them  and  stood next  to  Abhi,  who  was glaring at  her,  like  a moon in  the  sky.. 

You two are still here..  relishing the time alone..!?.. Pragya questions, while the boys looked at each other flickering their sights.. and Pragya sat next to Abhi, where he could inhale her enthrall  incense.. 

Hi Pragya.. Arjun greets her with a petite smile.. Rolling her eye balls, she sighs at him and says.. I asked you something,  and you are hailing me..!.. 

Arjun cinched a smile saying,  we were just talking  normally.. nothing important.. She nods her head with imperfection,  while Abhi stayed dumb observing  their conversation.. 

You are still awake..!?.. asks Arjun.. Haan.. I have some notes to complete.. Feeling enough exhausted for the day..  thought of taking a walk, but saw you two here.. Pragya replied to him and glimpses then and there at Abhi,  who was quiet and calm.. 

You are too silent Abhishek..!.. Are you being quiet in front of me, or is it that your actual nature..?.. Pragya blitz finally interacting her voice to him..  Abhi felt his fingers fluttering and fists them immediately to hide it from her.. 

Abhi.. Silent..!.. He can't be that.. never ever..  Arjun astounded his tone, before Abhi could respond.. and Pragya giggles her laugh snickering at Abhi.. 

Abhi smiles ogling at her, while Arjun continued..  Haan..  He is such a loudmouth, malicious,  exasperating person.. He has done all sort of mischievous things..  but remains stainless in front of our Chief and seniors.. 

Pragya looks at Abhi in distrust and pressed her lips, while Abhi glares at Arjun outrageously.. He signs him to shut up, but Arjun continues saying..  but Pragya, you guessed half of his reality.. 

Pragya shrinks her eyes and waits for him to complete.. and Arjun says.. that he is silent in front of you.. I mean.. He goes mute only  in front of you..  Abhi  puffs out his eyes and gestures Arjun to keep quiet and Pragya moves little close to him making him solicitous..

But what Arjun said is fitting you, I watched you.. You are bracing around others.. But you are sedative when I'm near you.. Why is that..!?.. You don't  like me here..?.. Asks Pragya.. 

No.. no.. Pragya, nothing as you're muttering.. I.. I.. just.. I mean.. I'm quiet in front of strangers.. Abhi  prattles his words..

Stranger..  me..!?..  Pragya asks  in a hysterical tone.. 

No, not exactly a stranger.. You are not  versant  to me, I mean to us.. Isn't Arjun..!?.. Abhi says looking at Arjun and  indicates him to assure his words.. In meantime Pragya noticed his dainty antics,  who  is trying to alter her intent from  him.. 

Abhishek,  your lies are  not  gonna backlash over  me.. No matter, how bad you try.. I'm not convinced of it..  Abhi draughts at her words and  flips his  eyes  between her and Arjun.. 

This  is  what  I too expected..  Abhi is  never  gonna  make  it.. I'm sure  Pragya will  make  him confess.. I just pray to you God.. please make Pragya to do  it.. Arjun swiped his  thoughts.. 

On fixing at a decision to escape from  her,  Abhi stood up as he  felt Pragya being so fond of  him.. he hurried his night wish  to  Arjun and  Pragya.. 

Abhi.. This  is  not  your  bed time.. you are  too early tonight.. Says Arjun, that triggered his  haste..

Haan.. But I'm tired.. feel sleepy.. Abhi says  and  turns to leave.. but stops when  he  fondled her fist holding his little finger.. 

He sights down at  her, who  said.. You can't go without disclosing it.. Abhi as well as Arjun were puzzled at her  words.. 

And  she  continues..  Haan..  You  have  something  that  belongs  to  me..!.. Give  it  back..  Abhi rooted his eyes at her,  who said..  My watch..!..  Will you return it please..!..
