Chapter 19: "Regret is what is left behind..."
Third POV
Various Pro-Heroes; Aizawa, All Might, Snipe, and even Ectoplasm, were able to intercept Cementoss with (Y / N) before reaching the infirmary. The student now on a stretcher while being minimally treated by the Medical Robots for his burns and while also administering serum. All the teachers were unresponsive, you could see them on their faces. Because despite being grateful for the miraculous fact that after such a violent explosion his student will still find himself in the realm of the living and in one piece.
The weight of each second was becoming more and more unbearable, as each second that passed without him getting the proper treatment, became an increasingly greater risk to take.
Cementoss: "Aizawa. Tell Recovery Girl that we are almost there, tell her to prepare everything she needs!" Cementoss said in a hurry as he pushed with force and yet care to not worsened the state of the already injured boy.
Aizawa: "Right." He used the intercommunicator on his ear to warn her. "Recovery Girl, we are almost there, please tell us that you are ready for intervention?" He nodded with his head. "Right, she says that everything is set."
All Might: (In his Mind) "Come on, Young (Y/N), just resist a little bit more!!!" His eyes were with little drops of tears around his eyes, his vision was glued down to his student, whose eyes were close and his face was covered with a medical oxygen mask. The mask had intervals where the crystal of the mask would turn to color white and then it returned to its natural transparent color. If that simple change were to stop... He didn't even dare to think about it.
The teachers were so absorbed in the situation that they didn't even notice that two green hair students were fast approaching them. Izuku and Tsuyu were running at full speed towards the stretcher that the Pro-Heroes were moving, as they left only dust and wind on their way.
Izuku: "All Might!" He screamed. His best friend was just a few meters away as they approached the intersection between the two halls.
All Might: "Young Midoriya!!!"
Aizawa: "YOU WERE INSTRUCTED TO STAY ON YOUR SEATS! FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!!!"
Tsuyu: We need to see (Y/N)!" She screamed as well as the other green hair boy while running on four legs in her frog-like behavior . Her emotions were anything but calmness right now. Things related to (Y/N) would always have a series of contradictions on her behavior.
Ectoplasm: "NO!!! Do you think we want you to witness something like this?" Ectoplasm said with his usual voice, but there was a clear sense of urgency coming off of it.
Tsuyu/Izuku: "PLEASE!!!"
Ectoplasm: "Cementoss!!!" He told his partner, they need to do something, it was already a horrible situation. Letting the students intervene or even let them get traumatized by how his classmate is right now, would only make things worse.
Cementoss didn't talk, his attention was taken almost completely on the situation of the injured (Y/N), but it only took a flick from his finger, for him to use his quirk to manipulate the floor, causing it to rise at great speed, blocking completely the hall behind them as a result. Tsuyu and Izuku were stopped on their tracks by the wall of concrete.
Izuku: "Dang it!!!" After having a single second to curse his bad luck, and flicking his arms in frustration. He looked around and started to run back from where he came from. "Tsuyu, lets go this way!!! Hurry!!!"
Tsuyu: "Kero." She said with determination, as she jumped to the front, gluing herself to the new wall that had risen and using it as leverage to strongly change directions back to where they came from. The teacher blocked the way, so they needed to take the long way to the infirmary.
U.A. Infirmary
The teachers got to the infirmary, the white door open almost automatically to their arrival. As all the teachers entered, Recovery Girl was moving many of her medical equipment to one of the many beds in the office. However, it seemed to have been evacuated of all the students who had been injured during the events of the sports festival.
Recovery Girl: "Quick!!! Leave him in that bed!!!" She signaled to the bed that was closest to the door, and the one that had all the necessary supplies to do the intervention.
The teachers follow instructions, and between all of them, move the body of the damaged student from the stretcher to the medical bed. They tried to do it as fast but carefully as possible. When the body of the young man finally touched the soft white fiber of the bed. Recovery Girl got herself ready.
Recovery Girl: "Now!!! Everyone get out of here!!! This is a delicate situation!!!" She hurried the Pro-Heroes for them to leave, because it doesn't matter how experts have become on assisting bystanders on crisis, they would only hinder her procedures, and neither she and (Y/N) are able to deal with setbacks right now.
As they all left, Recovery Girl started to realize how bad the conditions of her student's body were.
Recovery Girl: (In her Mind) "My dear boy, why does someone like you always end in these horrible circumstances?" For her, (Y/N) was simply a wonderful young soul and just like Izuku, she always wonders the reason behind such good people must always seem to be ones that get injured.
Class 1-A Terrace
A few minutes have passed but everything has remained in a rare calm that only transformed into a terrible uncertainty. The silence was only broken by the slight and discreet whispers that were barely heard in the distance from the stadium.
The students in class A were under a deep sadness consumed by such great helplessness to be resigned to being only a mere spectator. Everyone knew that the fighting would become somewhat intense and even violent, but they never expected for it to reach such magnitudes. And every minute that they did not hear from their friend, was a longer minute in their mind in which their imagination was spending a horrible experience on them leading to harsh and dark conclusions.
But the deathly silence that existed in the stands and the emptiness in which they had them was finally filled by the distant sound of the corridor, as two pairs of steps approached. All present with great hope that there would be a last minute miraculous change as they had become accustomed to in this school. Those mere seconds seemed eternal and they wondered who behind them.
Who was there?
The figure revealed themselves to them. It was Momo. Accompanied by Professor Midnight.
Both are frowning, and despite the fact that they were both downcast before the events. The one in the worst condition was Momo herself.
Her arm and leg were covered by bandages. But the damage she received to her body seemed to perish compared to the terrible and enormous emotional burden she carried. Her cheeks are full of what looked like dry tears, her eyes are puffy and red from crying. She didn't even look up from the ground, she didn't feel brave enough to even look at her fellows in the face after what she did. Whether it was her intention or not.
And her collages were quick to react to her arrival. Many got up and went to where these two were. Some are concerned about her condition and how she feels. While some who were upset and had certain questions for her.
Jirou: "Momo, are you okay?
Sero: "What hell was that?"
Kaminari: "You just had to knock him out but you almost killed him!!!" His friend's words wove her deeper than any razor could.
The overwhelming prey of tears that this situation had brought to her eyes. Again faced a total overflow from the wounds that the words of her angry friends caused.
Hagakure: "Just what were you thinking?!"
Jirou/Midnight: "ALRIGHT!!! THAT 'S ENOUGH!" They screamed, these yelling and demands did not improve the mood in which her partner was, performing self-punishment for her actions. And to top it all it definitely didn't help the situation they were now stuck in.
Jirou: "I mean come on! We are talking about Momo, everyone knows her. She wouldn't hurt a fly!" The reasoning behind her words, and stopping themselves for a minute to think the refined yet humble attitude behind the black pony tail girl since the moment of knowing her is what it needed to calm the murky emotions that were the rough sea of her companions.
Hagakure/Kaminari: " Sorry." The whispers showed what was already written in stones. It was shameful how they had proceeded, and they knew it.
Principal Nezu (Through the communicators) "All U.A. Teachers must assemble immediately at the Professor's Lunge to discuss the current event at our hands." The communicator sounded at the earnings of Ms. Midnight. As she touched the side of her head to focus on the message received. The voice of the Principal was it's usual formal and educated form of speaking, although there was a cent of urgency and an inch of conflict.
Midnight: "I must take my leave now. I leave her in your care." She had all this time her hands on her shoulders, but as Jirou approached her friend. The earphone girl replaced the site that Midnight once occupied. Leaving the scene in rather hurry
No other word was spoken at the spot. Momo and Jirou seated on two seats at the center of the terrace. Even after the enlightenment words from the Earphone Girl, the environment was still as heavy as before, if not more now that the culprit was among them. And her sadness didn't let her mind rest for all the harm that she caused (Y/N). Momo was a humble, noble person, one of those people that would not believe the kind and flattering words. But they would not doubt all the insults and wrong doing that they are accused of.
Teacher's Lunge - Third POV
In one of the highest barracks of the facilities of such prestigious educational institutions were all the outstanding heroes. Who decided to take the reins in the betterment of society by structuring young heroes. The best between the elite.
Which did not make this situation exactly easier. Everyone at this time is waiting for their response. And since the impression on security and its ability to make decisions was brutalized by the invasion of villains a few weeks ago. They had to decide their next move very carefully. Every space within the huge table that spanned much of the room was being occupied. Midnight, Cementoss, Aizawa, All Might, Hound Dog, Ectoplasm, all were present. The atmosphere created was dense and heavy, one would be reluctant to speak or even move in such a tense situation.
But in the center of the table and of everyone present, the little white furball, Nezu, the headmaster was the first to break the silence. The school as well as its students were like her baby, and she had to do what was best for them, even if her reputation was tarnished after this.
Nezu: "Well, now that everyone has gathered here, we can begin this meeting." His voice was profound and with no energy whatsoever. Not many times you would be able to see the seriousness be splattered on the face of the cute human size lab rat. " But first, I most know, Cementoss, how the situation progressed in the infirmary?"
Cementoss: "As instructed we took him in as soon as possible, pardon me for my impatience for, I did not wait on the medical team."
Nezu: "Well, considering the situation, I think that you made the best decision with such lack of options. But how is (Y/N)?"
Cementoss: "His condition is yet to be reported by Recovery Girl. It's a really thick spot and is hard to say as of right now."
Nezu: "I understand..." He took a moment of silence, he would wear off the sensation of failure, even though the school had encountered violent duels between students at this sort of festival, this is the first one to ever reach such a level of severity. One student to a near death experience. If such a thing were to happen at his school.
But in that flick of light, he understood what it would mean not only for (Y/N) that is in a life or death situation. He also counted the burden that it would be created on the shoulders of his fellow students. How would Yaoyorozu react if the worst situation possible were to happen?
Nezu: "What about Miss Yaoyorozu? I'm worried about her well-being as well..."
Midnight: "She hadn't said anything since the end of the match..."She remembered the face of pure anguish that the poor girl had. It was obvious that she never intended for such an outcome. "Almost like just body and no soul..."
Nezu: "Poor girl... Such a brilliant student... And ruined...This a complicated situation." There was sweat going down the side of his face. He needed to do the best thing possible for the students. And as sad as it may seem, their reputation was the price to pay. "I'm afraid that we would have to cancel the tournament..."
Vlad King: "Isn't that a little drastic?"
Aizawa: "Vlad, think about the situation here, all the people are horrified, and probably the students at even a greater scale."
Midnight: "Specially, Class 1-A. They have been the targets of 2 misfortunes as of now."
Vlad King: "I know, I'm not stupid. I'm only talking about consequences that this may cause for the public opinion of the school."
Snipe: "What do you think, All Might?"
All Might: "It's hard to say." All Might was standing there in his characteristic yellow suit, in his normal form. He had his hands clenched against one another, he intended to drive off his frustrations by pressing away the pressure on his fingers.
Everyone, every single professor on the table noticed the state that All Might was trying to fight off. You could count with the finger of one hand, the times where the Symbol of Peace would not be wearing his symbolic smile.
Nezu: "I think that you should refrain from this decision, All Might." He spoke with kindness so that he could lay off easier for the blond teacher. Only gasps and surprise expressions expreded on the table for such a claim.
All Might: "Sir?"
Nezu: "I understand, All Might. You are important in this school, but I don't intend to put you in a difficult spot on this decision. Because you cannot deny that from everyone in this room you have really personal feelings involved with your student."
While the words of the Principal resonated in his mind, and he came down to understand them. The resign to only nod and maintain himself out of baulking the situation.
Nezu: "This is my school, it rips the heart from my very own chest to see it tarnish to the eyes of the world..." He was in deep thought, and all of the presents as well, for the Principal was hard to do this U.A. was built upon his hopes and sleepless nights of hard work. And throwing all that away by a series of unfortunate events, but be destroying him. "But the sake of my students comes first."
The air that was already harsh since the moment the door was closed. Without any sort of word being spoken, not a single sound, all minds become one for instance to comprehend what was at stake but above all what had to be done.
Nezu: "Then we all are in agreement?" Inspecting the room for any sign of objection. Such search was futile since everyone thought that the decision they were making was difficult yet correct. "Then it's decided, the Festival will have to be canceled." The shadows darkened the faces of everyone present, full of guilt. Since despite their best intentions and effort, they seemed useless in keeping their students safe.
???: "SILENCE!!!"
The once quiet and gloomy office was disturbed with the consequent brutality of an authoritarian voice. cold, imposing and calculating accompanied by a female symphony. The confusion lasted mere instances as the identity of such women was revealed at the entrance of the room. An elderly woman who{s eyes and expression lacked emotion, ash blonde hair that was a golden string that lost its once glorious golden color, accompanied by a neat black suit, freshness such death emanated from her persona.
Public Safety Commission President
PSCP: "Silence. You don't have the authority for that!" It was the severity which comes out pronounced from the mouth of said woman of such standard and demeanor.
Nezu: "Commission President, is a pleasure to have you among us." The director always shows off his education. Although it could be noticed a certain struggle in his voice. The appearance of the President was not only unexpected but also unpleasant for that entry.
PSCP: "I can assure you, the pleasure is all yours." Her comments had no restriction, the dislike could be inferred by her posture, voice, and expression. Besides, it was no surprise for everyone that got to work for her, recognize her as someone cheerful. "Especially after what I heard. The Festival would not be canceled."
Midnight: "Commission President, with all due respect, that's impossible! All the presents, especially our students, are in no condition to continue!" She rose from her seats, her arms resting on the table, as she was clearly shaken up by the sudden statements of the President.
The President made her way to the center of the room, confronting all the Heroes and Professor of U.A. with no hesitation whatsoever, including the Symbol of Peace. Taking various documents at disposal of Aizawa, taking them from his very own hands. Behaving as if the school was her own kingdom to rule over.
Nezu: "Miss President, I am afraid that has been a matter of discussion here, and the board has agreed that this is best for our students. And that decision can't and will not be overruled at this height." There was a staredown, both powerful figures in a mutual coalition. Two different sides of the hero world with a complete distinct view from one another.
But what would be the result of the clash between the great mountain and the mighty gale?
PSCP: "Well, Principal Nezu, considering that is a stupid desicion, I'm taking the liberty to ignore it. And I am afraid to tell you, that is already too late for such contradictions."
Aizawa: "Contradictions?..." Aizawa's voice and eyes had no sense of similarity whatsoever. His voice was as always calm with the usual monotone death tone of boredom. But his eyes were fierce without any sign of forgiveness towards transgressions.
PSCP: "If your only true concern was the safe state of your students, then you must have put those concerns out after your security fell to the League of Villains." The guts of this woman, the audacity to humiliate the room filled with heroes that had survived countless battles, aware of creating relation with powerful enemies.
Midnight: "WHAT?" Once again, Midnight rose from her seat indignant with the way this woman proceeded in the presence of the Principal and Teachers at their own school.
Nezu: "Calm yourself, Midnight... But, I seem to have problems understanding the preoccupations of the Public Safety Commision on the Festival's Cancelation." Although Nezu called her attention, it was not wrong to assume that her emotions mirror those of the whole group.
PSCP: "If it's needed for something so simple to be explained, then I must declare my clear disappointment on the head of the school, especially on you, Principal." The exasperation on a person's face was never seen as clear in a person as in the President as this time.
Snipe: "There is no need for such harsh declarations, madam."
PSCP: *sigh* "Do any of you, have any sort of idea of how much the Hero Association has running in this school, Professors?... The importance that this represents for all the citizens of the country?"
Vlad King: "Well, is common knowledge that our Festival replaced the once Famous Olympic Games..."
PSCP: "Exactly, just with that any fool could grasp the importance of this event since the creation of the Superhuman Society as well as the Hero Association. The center point of attention of all those around the globe." Although, the point that she wanted to point across was not clear, everyone could infer the path to the destination.
PSCP: "Please,... Help this eldery woman understand, why didn't U.A. try to postpone the Sport Festival after the events that took place on the U.S.J.?"
All Might: "It would have compromised the Public Image of the school, regarding our capability at handling damage control and security." It's surprising as to someone as All Might, as powerful and important as he is, to be ignored until now, definitely was not something that anyone could do, as well as not being a good sign.
PSCP: "Yes, that's correct, and of course if the problem were just for the Sports Festival to be postponed. It wouldn't have worried in the slightest the interests of the Hero Association. Because after all, it was your facilities that were the ones being breached. But it's cancelation is in our interest."
Aizawa: "In other words, we would have carried the whole guilt and responsibility."
PSCP: "Correct. And I think that by now, most of you are able to understand where this discussion it's being led to." She took a moment of silence as she turned her back on the teachers and slowly las the death of hope started to move around the office, leaving nothing than goosebumps to those around her. "... Canceling the Sports Festival would not only bring the downfall of U.A.'s credibility. But the whole Hero Association with it." She took a bunch of paper on the left hand as well as a container full of pencils and pens on the right. And at the mention of U.A. She let all the papers fall to the ground and the pencils at the name of the hero association.
PSCP: "There are rumors running around that the Symbol of Peace, All Might, has weakened within the pass of years. And canceling the Sports Festival would cause all the supporters and citizens to lose faith in the heroes. And if that happens..." The sight of everyone fell on All Might for a moment. The only response to the assumption was no other than a shame filled suspicion from the hero in cuestion. But then proceeding to leave the sentence to the air.
Ectoplasm: "It would be like ringing the dinner bell for the League and all the villains out there... A golden opportunity." The analysis of everyone started to make sense of the situation. The reasons of the President weren't unfounded but harsh for the people that are left in their charge.
PSCP: "And I'm willing to take any measures to prevent that from happening..." She once again standed proud and powerful at the center of the room facing once again everyone at the same time.
Nezu: "And yet..." The Principal in a rare moment miseducation interrupted the President in the middle of her sentence. It was clear that she was walking on thin ice, something that called the attention of the teacher as it was hard for someone to draw the last hair of the rat-like creature. "U.A. is my school. Even in front of someone like you, Miss President, the final decision over that is a power that belongs to the Principal and the Board of Professors alone." Nezu was tired of hearing the conversation of the eldery woman that had only her interest at heart.
PSCP: "Is that supposed to be a threat..." The wrinkled face of the woman moves itself once again to an expression of severity and bottle up disgust. "I'm afraid once again, I'm not giving you the right image..." She turned her head to make sure that everyone was paying attention to what she was gonna say. "If you decide to continue with this, the Hero Association would have no other option than to completely detach from U.A..." All the eyes of the teachers widen in surprise to take such drastic demeanor for this. Nezu tried to maintain his poker face, but the sweat running down the side of his face said otherwise. "And that means, that you won't receive fundings, there won't be any help with work studies or internships for your students. And to put it simply, the complete discredit of U.A. as a hero school."
Aizawa: "YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!!" He finally lost his cool, and like Midnight did moments ago, he rose from his seat to impose his opinion.
PSCP: "You will soon realize that I can and I will..." She didn't even faze him, his outburst wouldn't change anything to her eyes.
All Might: "This must be a nightmare..." This woman was willing to take down the opportunities of success of the school. As well as the jobs of the teachers, the position of the Principal, and most importantly the future of all the students that carried the name of U.A. if it was necessary for the Hero Association.
PSCP: "Then pinch yourself..." She gave a sarcastic sort of remark filled with egocentrism. "Now that that is out the bag, I must leave, although now I have full confidence that you would take the right decision for this little predicament..." She made her way to the door with the same attitude from when she came from. "I'll be waiting anxiously to see the winners of the competition." She stopped at the mark of the door, just to turn her head and give a tiny smile that mocked everyone at the time.
The only noise that was left now, it was the cold sensation that the door left when it was closed.
Midnight: "Principal Nezu, what should we do?" Defeated as well as preoccupied with what's in store, the only being that was confident enough would take the best decision for all the factors in collision.
Nezu: "..."
It didn't matter the might of the gale, the mountain wouldn't revere it.
Meanwhile - Third POV - U.A.'s Hallway
Since the moment that the sun rose from behind the mountains that day, it was unexpected for the happiness of the city to drown so quickly in the depth of this silence. The once lively place, it was gloomy, dark, and waiting for the news that would make the hope to live on or perish. The woman that was the very backbone of this institution was working to the absolute ends of her duty to fight the chances of death entering the school to proclaim this student.
But death is easier for those that are left behind, than for those who suffer such a path itself.
Such proclamation stands to this day correct, the two souls that now stand outside of the door are proof of that. Tsuyu and Izuku, both are eating themselves trying to not breakaway to the impatience that now consumes them, sitting at the cold floor of the Hallway.
Tsuyu: "They have been there for hours..." The light was missing from her face, as just an obscure shadow took its place in front of her eyes.
Izuku: "Hmm..." The brother in arms of the victim couldn't do anything else than desperately pacing back and forth in front of the door. His poor hands were attacked by his teeth, biting and deteriorating the once clean and pale pink nails.
The green hari boy's shoes moving against the floor was the only noise that echoed through the hall.
Tsuyu: "Izuku, your ramble is not helping..." Tsuyu, even in these situations, remains as calm as she could be. But as any normal person at a time like these requires peace in her surroundings, so her interior could find it within.
Izuku: "Sorry..." Deku didn't seem surprised by the comment, it was inconsiderate from him to not take the feelings of Tsuyu into consideration. So, he stopped and found himself at the comfiest place on the opposite side of the wall.
But the steps once again started to resonate true to the walls of the school.
Tsuyu: "Izuku, please..."She had her head between her legs and her arms around her whole being.
Izuku: "It isn't me..." He said, a little taken back.
The two of them turned to the left end of the corridor. Those steps were slow, if the circumstances were different, if the ambient wasn't as depressing as it is now, then they would easily pass unnoticed. The rhythmic disturbances just creep closer and closer. The person behind those steps walked just around the corner of the left side. The color blue in their clothes was the first thing that they noticed, it was the classical U.A.'s PE Uniform. And as the eyes of the pair started to ascend they understood who it was with the peculiar black hair tied in a spiky ponytail. It was Momo. Wearing all the bandages on her injured body.
The green pair got a little surprised but it was clear to their eyes and expression when all three of them lowered their heads in shame, they knew their lack of backbone to engage in a conversation right now. Nonetheless, Momo couldn't continue with the uncertainty of staying as an outsider, especially a situation where her actions were the main source of them.
Momo: "How is (Y/N)?" Her voice was almost inaudible, and the only sound that was really captured was nothing but self-doubt and guilt. She needed to come here, armor with all the valor she could gather. She rebukes herself every moment since the ordeal, accepting with tears in her eyes all the words that cursed her, whether from friends, classmates, or complete strangers. She needed to accept them.
Tsuyu: "Don't know..." The emotion behind such words were distant, afraid to lose her cool, if that were to happen, maybe the situation would only get worse.
Momo: "I know that I'm probably the last person you two want to see right now..." She put her hand on her mouth as she tried to look up as tiny drops of water were escaping from her face. It was hurting her, deeper than any blade. "But... Can I stay here with you?"
The green hair boy and girl looked at her and only nodded with a forced serenity in their looks. Deep inside them, knew the truth and what happened was the last thing Momo wanted to occur. The wound was just fresh, that was all.
But before the atmosphere could have the chance to return to its awaiting sepulchral patience, the silence was once again interrupted. Although, this time there weren't simple footsteps resonating through the hall. This time were screams of a desperate nature along the violent openings of doors at the distance.
???: "WHERE IS HIM?!!
The Trio turned to the right end of the Hallway of the Infirmary.
Inko: "WHERE IS MY BABY?!!!" The walking teddy bear that was Inko Midoriya broke the heart of everyone that knew of her when seeing her suffer. She stopped to look around, in an attempt to figure out where she must go. And her eyes widen when she recognizes the face of her adoration. "Izuku!!!"
For a woman that chubby, she sure could run fast. It was surprising as she stopped a centimeters before reaching the thorax of her son between her arms. Staining with
Izuku: "Mom?! What are you doing here?" As he separated from her mother to question her about the sudden appearance. Letting her obtain some air after that drastic rush. And as she tried to get a hold of her respiration, dried her wet eyes with a handkerchief on her left hand.
Inko: "I couldn't stay in there after all that!..." She desperately yells, Inko's love for (Y/N) like any mother, knows no boundaries. But she paused to inspect her surroundings, until her eyes landed on the injured black hair girl. The once soft and watering eyes of the kind mother turned into ones full of severity.
Inko: "What is she doing in here?! Haven't you caused enough damage already!"
Momo: "Ms. Midoriya... It was never my intention--" She was taken a little bit back as the woman started to walk towards her.
Inko: "For your well-being I hope that my baby gets better... Or else, I don't know what I would do..." She stopped close to the poor girl, pointing at her with her finger. Although, her words were harsh, unknown of her own self as to what point could take her, seeing her son in such a state. Her voice breaking, it was not the voice of someone with what it takes to hurt someone else, even in this situation. More like a heartbroken mother that was just hurt on one of the two most valuable things she has in her life.
Izuku: "Mom!!! That 's enough!" It was understandable for Izuku to intervene, the situation was already horrible as it is, letting this dispute escalate to the worst was not an option. He got in front of her mother, firmly taking her from the shoulders, making sure that her eyes landed on his own. "This is not helping, (Y/N) doesn't need this right now!"
Inko: "But..."
Before the worried mother could continue, her shoulder was embraced by the soft touch of another soul. Such acts belong to Tsuyu. The green maiden had plastered on her face a look of sympathy for the mother in front of her. This pat had the power to calm her, at least for the time being.
It seems as though those four weren't the only presents at the infirmary at that moment. As they heard a noise, something similar to wood being scratched. And all the eyes looked upon the door. On the lower right corner of the door was a tiny being, a little black creature that was quick as to scratching the entrance. It was as if frustrated for being incapable of getting in the room.
Izuku: "Neftis?" He questioned as he crouched down to lift the tiny cat from the floor and hug her gently to his chest. The cat seemed sad, but she didn't fight back. "What are you going here?"
Tsuyu: "What is a cat doing in here?"
Izuku: "It's (Y/N)'s cat, but what is she doing in here?"
Inko: "She was in my bag, she didn't stay put after everything that we saw on T.V., so I brought her with me." She confessed sadly, as it was understood that even this little cat knew what was happening.
The cat in all that time didn't even move her eyes from the door. Her person was inside that room, she just knew it. It was something that she felt within her being. Whether or not there is proof of it.
Tsuyu: "Poor little girl..." She tried to comfort the crying cat with a soft touch of her hand at the top of the animal's head. And even that touch, it was insignificant for the little cat. She had only one though between her ears.
But as if the same gods had responded to their prayers, the so awaited piece of wood that separated the connection between the injured student and themselves was finally opened. And standing there, with sweat going down every wrinkles of her forehead and breathing rather quickly, taking a moment to clean the liquid from her face with a tiny rag. Her presence was all that took for the four of the present finally stopped their conversation.
Recovery Girl: "Now, what is all this racket!!! It's an infirmary for god's sake!!!" The older woman was fuming, there must be times and places that are free from all sorts of conflicts. And an infirmary must be one of them. At least for the sake for that one that is currently in recovery.
Izuku: "Recovery Girl, how is--?"
Momo: "IS (Y/N) OKAY?!!!"
Recovery Girl: "Be quiet..." She took the gloved finger from her right hand to her lips to signal for them to be quiet, while the other laid on her stick to support her tired out body. As she turned to face the interior of the room. She wanted for the four of them to follow her.
As all of them walked to the inside of the infirmary, all the color white blinded them for a few seconds, everything seemed so clean, there was no spot that wasn't impeccable. Until, they saw the trail of red and marks on the floor. And above those same staines, there was a bed, not as pure and ehite as the other in the room.
Their eyes focused...
But this was everything they could see...
(The eyes are closed as well as cover by a white band)
Momo: "My god! (Y/N)!" She cried, covering her mouth, closing her eyes. The boy was full of burns, a body so hurt for her cause. She failed to her knees, it was harder and harder as the seconds passed to maintain her composure.
Izuku and her mother embraced one another, the woman cried on the chest of her son. As for Neftis, when the poor cat caught sight of her owner. She was blasted from her place in the arms of Inko. Only to be stopped by another pair of arms, Tsuyu's. The little frog girl was added, but from a difference from the rest present, she was maintaining her composure. Although, it needs to be remembered that a poker face is only that, a mask to conceal your real emotions. On the inside there was a war of what to do. And concentrated herself on maintaining the crying kitten between her arms.
Recovery Girl: "The explosion gave him a series of first and second degree burns..." She took a moment to regain herself, it was energy consuming everything that she did until this point. "The shockwave damaged some of his internal organs..."
Inko, from the place that her head had on the chest of Izuku was still paying full attention to every word that the medical hero had to say. Just to hear the blissful or cursed words that would tell her if her son was going to recover or not.
Recovery Girl: "It was like seeing him fight the Nomu once again..." The tone of her voice was full of regret, seeing him once again in those sorts of conditions was heart-breaking for her. Even though she is nothing from him, a real doctor feels the injuries and even the sadness of her patience, as well as their families. "The damage was serious... But we were able to stabilize him..." The color returned to the face of everyone for a moment. "He was lucky... That explosion could have killed him..." She turned to face her patience.
Recovery Girl: "I hope that you can forgive me, Ms. Midoriya... The surgery was necessary..." She bowed in apologies as to what she considered a lack of professionalism, an immediate surgery is always a delicate situation for medics when they face the concern of the law or the familiars of the patience in question.
Inko: "No..." She smiled with still water running down her face. "My baby is okay and that is what matters. I will forever be grateful for what you did today." The mother bowed her head to the floor, it was the maximum demonstration of respect and gratefulness she could demonstrate as of right now.
All the presents bowed to the point of their head touching the ground. Even though they were putting pressure on their bodies through their bow, they felt as if the greatest weight was lifted from her shoulders.
Inko: "Thank you... Thank you... Thank you..." It was now visible to all from where it came Izuku's obsession to repeat things. But it didn't take long before she and everyone else raised their heads.
Recovery Girl: "I already reported the situation with the Principal and the Teachers a while ago. We should see in a few minutes what has been decided..." She said as she turned the TV of the Infirmary on. It was essential for her what the teachers had decided, after all she is the one incharge of healing everyone. Besides, everything seems stable as of right now. It was an act of kindness for her to let them in. She is fully aware of how hard being the one to wait outside is, desperately waiting for good news or terrible news. But it is necessary to maintain an atmosphere free of all sorts of stress for the sake of the injured. "Now, I'm afraid that you all need to leave, I already broke the rules by letting so many get in..."
Inko: "Please..." She asked with respect. Now that she was here, she couldn't just leave. "May I stay..."
The Healing Hero thought a little bit as she looked into the eyes of the loving mother and to the teens in the room.
Recovery Girl: "*sigh* I suppose that you Ms. Midoriya can stay..." She then turned to the other three teens at her side. "But all of you must go and wait for instructions..."
There were a few protests from the teens but all of them were abruptly ignored by the two adults. The teens with a sigh of defeat follow the demands. It was neither the time or the place. All of them left...
And as they were walking, they saw that the channel on all the TV was back on. On the corridors and they were sure that the big ones on the stadium were on as well. Aizawa and Present Mic were present, sitting on their respective seats at the Commentator Room.
Present Mic (Through the Screens): "First of all, thank you very much for your patience. The current set of events set a temporal stop. But we are happy to inform the stable and the improving state of our student, (Y/N) Black." Everyone at the stadium was relieved, they could finally think with a clear state of mind. It was horrible just the idea of witnessing a young and rising hero's end of the line to such close proximity. "All thanks to a masterful intervention from our one and only Recovery Girl..." The re was paused as the screen showed a photo of said heroin saluting.
There was a round of screams and applause that boomed from everyone in the stadium and from all the city for that fact. And almost as if the day had conscience of it's, the clouds began to clear the skies in company of the rising sun. Recovery didn't just save a life today, but the reputation of the whole institution all by herself.
Present Mic (Through the Screens): "What would we do without her?!" He said a remark that didn't only reflect appreciation but also reality as there is to remember and never forget that Recovery Girl is the very backbone of U.A. Without her, it's impossible to imagine how everything would have turned out. "And due to this news, we are happy to inform you of the continuation of our Sports Festival..."
There were still screams and applause, but they weren't as hard as before. Some of the people present were really thinking if it was a wise idea to continue after everything that happened until this point.
Tsuyu: "Is it really a good idea?" She said as Midoriya and her were watching the TV on one of the corridors on their way back to the stadium.
Izuku (In his mind) "Just what is happening here?... Do they really think this is for the best?" He had a serious expression on his face, something smells fishy about all the subjects. (Y/N) was seriously injured and they want to act as if it hasn't affected the conditions of everything at the moment.
But his thoughts were interrupted as Present Mic started to talk again, but this time with a much more serious looked...
Present Mic (Through the Screens) "On a not so cheerful note... Due to the results of the last match and the consequences of them, the judges have decided that the contendant, Momo Yaoyorozu..." He took a moment, it was clear to everyone that he wasn't happy neither fully agreeing in what is about to be said. "... Has been disqualified." All the students of the 1-A class were shocked by such a decision, it wasn't hard to imagine the bad news that was for a student at the sports festival.
Izuku and Tsuyu turned around searching for Momo. But to the surprise of the duo, the corridor was completely empty. There was no sight of Momo, they turned right and left, but there was nothing, almost as if the earth had swallowed her whole with no sign left.
Present Mic (Through the Screens) "And according to the rules, (Y/N) advances to the next round... He has until his match to turn up, otherwise he will be disqualified and replaced by one of the participants of the Cavalry Battle..."
At the Infirmary - Third POV
The Recovery Girl had already heard enough and turned the TV off. Her reasoning and form of seeing the world was different. She wasn't really all in for the decision that the higher ups had taken. But she didn't neither the authority or energy to outrun such a stupid decision. Instead she started to prepare the whole room, if the Festival is decided to continue, then she must be ready. This is going to be a long day for her.
At the other side of the room, Inko was trying to maintain herself busy as she had helped the recovery girl clean the room. Especially everything that was right now close to her son.
The only one taking care of the young boy right now, was no other than Neftis. You could see the tiny cat curl between the abdomen and the right arm of the resting teen. It was almost as if she wasn't there, then something bad was going to happen to her master.
Unknown to all the presents, that the resting student was not really resting to his fullest extent...
(Y/N) (In his mind): "Tsuyu... Momo..."
U.A.'s Corridor - Third POV
On one of the corridors of the U.A. Momo, the poor girl, didn't feel worthy of being with Izuku and Tsuyu for the time being. She walked through the hall with no purpose. The girl looked as if her soul had just left her body, there was nothing.
Nothing but just a few words resonating through her mind...
The same words that the healing heroin had said...
Momo: (In her mind) "He was lucky... That explosion could have killed him..." The words started to morph on her mind and resonated even more, almost as if her demons were screaming at her. As she felt the walls starting to close at her, engulfing her in darkness.
That explosion could have killed him...
Killed him...
You could have killed him...
Your mistake almost took his life...
You are no hero...
Killed him...
Killed him...
Just what were you thinking?...
Momo: "I didn't mean to... It was an accident... Please..."
"I'm sorry..."

Uff, finally... This part guys... Has been one of the most valuable when it comes to setting a base for what I have planned. There were many concepts turning and changing constantly on my head. I did a serious meditation on what I wanted to included on this chapter, what needed to be included, and what was unnecessary at all.
I know that it took me more time that I had originally planned. But now that I reflected on it, this was the first chapter of the story that was made entirelly by me... The other ones I had to modify certain things of what had happened from the anime. So, maybe that's why I took so long.
Well, I just wanted to say thank you to all my readers, you are always on my head. Thinking and making something that's good for you to read. And it's a lot of fun...
Please, sharre, vote and write all the comments that you want. And constructive critics are welcome...
Thanks again and I will see on the next chapter...
