Uriel's POV

(What's going on?)

  My body feels like its on fire, then it gets cold again. It's like one moment I've been dropped in a pool of molten hot lava and then next in the fucking Arctic Ocean. I feel like somethings trying to get out of me, but what? It doesn't hurt more like a pressured feeling near my upper back area. I can feel my body changing. It's so incredibly weird to be feeling that. Why can't I stop shaking? Why can't I open my eyes? I feel the darkness surrounding me and swallowing me into unconsciousness.

Ariel's POV

"Do you know why he started his transition so early?"

"I have an idea, but I'll have to check into it to make absolutely certain. Your father is on his way home. Where's Raphael?"

"He took Alex back home. He should be back soon." 

 I looked over at Uriel, who is on the couch. Poor baby, this wasn't suppose to happen so soon. He's been out for a few hours now. The transition usually takes two days because the body is changing and making adaptations to fit in what we are.  When we are born we are completely human. Nothing is different what so ever, we look and smell like humans till we hit eighteen and that is to keep our secret from being found out. Uriel is going through this a month or so away from his eighteenth birthday. This has never been heard of before, well, to my family's knowledge at least. Dad should be home soon and then we could begin our search. We might need to consult the elders. The ones who have been here since forever ago, the elders, should probably have heard of something like this happening or at least something similar to this. The door bursts open and in comes a frantic looking dad and Raph following soon behind him.

"How is he?"

"Well, he seems to be progressing faster than before, is that even possible?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean his body seems to be transitioning faster than the normal rate. At the rate he's going he should complete the transition in a few hours."

"How is that even possible mom?"

"I don't know Raph."

"We need to start looking. Ariel go into the office and get all the books that are on the top shelf. Raph start going through them or get on your laptop and see if you can find out something similar or close to this situation. Honey, help Uriel, if he finishes his transition earlier than we anticipate, you'll need to be here to help him. You know what to do, you've been through it twice already. I'm going to talk to the Elders and maybe some older friends and relatives."

 Everyone set to work. I went into the office and quickly scurried over to the bookshelf. Dad has all the books about our kind on the top shelf and not on the lower shelves. This is to keep anyone, mainly Uri since he's the only one who actually reads, who is looking for a book from finding them. He has all the books Uriel reads on the bottom and middle shelves. It has worked for this long. Uriel never found any of the books. I quickly grab as many of the books as I could and ran out of the room. Raph was already at the table on his laptop trying to find something online, I assume. I put them on the table, well more like slammed them, and he doesn't even flinch. He seems to be really into whatever he is reading. I sit down and quickly open a book and begin my search.

How long have I been reading? I can't say. My eyes are hurting from scanning all the pages and then scanning the screen on the laptop when Raph would get tired of it and we'd switch. My back is stiff and my neck is killing me. I look at the clock on the oven and see that it is nearing one in the morning. I blink a few times and my eyes tear up a bit. Raphael is doing the same and he just gets up. I follow him into the living room where we find mom wiping Uriel's forehead with a wet rag.

"He seems to be almost finished."

"Do you think he'll wake up soon?"

"He will, he'll wake up in an hour or so. We'll have to explain everything to him. Hopefully, he won't freak."

 Raph nods his agreement and then sits on the couch. I follow suit. I'm really excited to know what color his eyes will be. Our eyes changes color when our "other side" comes into control. Mine change to a golden wheat color and Raph's changes to a snowy white. I'm also scared because Uriel seems to be different than most due to the fact that he is almost finished with his transition and it hasn't even been a day and he isn't eighteen yet.

 I look over to Uri and actually look at him. His golden brown hair is matted with sweat and his face that has a tiny amount of scruff is scrunched up in a pain filled expression. His usually tanned skin is paler than before. His baby blues eyes are hidden because his eyes are closed. I wonder if that's how I looked when I went through it. Of course, we sent Uriel to go with Alex for the night, he didn't want to though because it was my birthday obviously, but we didn't want him to find out. They told me I was going to go through some changes two days before my birthday, but I didn't really believe them till Raphael showed me. My parents showed me some of their abilities. Raph had only been a year or so into his training so he had mastered a couple of his powers, there was still a few kinks with the ones he did know so they were deemed a bit unpredictable. I had to believe them afterwards. Poor Uri, he doesn't even know what we are yet. I hope he won't freak out or something.

Uriel's POV

 I feel different, almost as if something has been missing and it has finally found its way home to my soul or something. My body feels weird, like its potential has doubled that of what it use to be. I took in a breath of air and almost gasped because I can smell things I haven't smelled before. I smell Ariel's perfume, Givenchy's Very Irresistible Givenchy, and Raphael's Dulce Gabbana cologne. I smell my mom who gives off this bakery kind of smell. I hear their every breath and movement. I can tell from a rustling noise that someone is on the couch. And I feel someone wiping my forehead with a wet rag. I groan because I feel sore all over almost as if I worked out for a day.

"Uri, baby, open your eyes."

 I hear my mom say. I hear people getting up from the couch and walking toward us. I groan again and try to open my eyes. It seems like they don't want to listen to me yet. Finally, I get them to open and I immediately regret it. I closed them as soon as I opened them. The lights in the room were really bright and I swear I saw some dust particles falling. What the fuck is going on?

"The lights..."

  I groan. Mom, who was holding my hand, ordered Ariel to turn off the lights. I heard Ariel rushing of and the click of the light switch turn off. I open my eyes again, only to hear gasps come from all different directions. I realize one was my own breath escaping me. I feel as if I've been looking through a foggy window all my life. Everything looks so clear and define. I looked at my mom and I can see every tiny wrinkle and freckle on her face. Her eyes held something that could only be described as awe in them. I looked at my older siblings and they too had the same look in their eyes.

"What? Why are you guys looking like that? What happened to me actually? What's going on because I have no clue? Why do I feel sore all over? Where's dad because I don't see him? How long have I been out?"

I couldn't help but let everything tumble out. My voice sounds scratchy and strange from not being used in a while. 

"Baby, what we're going to tell you is really unbelievable, but it is true. We didn't tell you because what just happened to you wasn't suppose to happen until you turn eighteen. Raph go get your dad, he's probably still on the phone."

I looked over at Raph, who looked like he didn't want to leave, but still left anyways.

"How are you feeling Uri?"

"Um sore all over and really kind of thirsty. I also feel...complete?"

"I'll get you a glass of water, Ariel help him up."

 Ariel comes over and helps me into a sitting position. I groan in pain. What do they have to tell me? Soon, dad and Raph came in. Dad came over to me and his face showed what everyone showed before, awe. 

"Hey Uriel, how are you feeling?"

"I feel like that's all I've been asked. I feel fine now, I'm still sore, but I've gotten use to it. Can you just tell me what's going on dad?"

 Mom came in with a glass of water and handed it to me. I quickly grabbed it and swallowed the refreshing liquid. I didn't know how thirsty I truly was till I had the cup of water in my sight. I ask  her to bring me more and she nods.

"Ok, Uriel keep an open mind to this ok? No interruptions either."

 I nodded. Mom comes back in with the glass. Why are they so nervous? Everyone is fidgeting or looking away from me. What is going on?

"Ok, Uri, we aren't entirely human. You see, Uri, when we are born, we look, act, and smell as humans should, till we turn eighteen. We are what is commonly known as angels, hence our last name, Angelus. We have abilities that we get when our body transitions to fit in our heavenly side. We are not the religious type of angels. There is a God and a Goddess, but we do not guide souls to heaven or try to lead them down a good path or whatever the bible states we do. We do watch over the humans though. They are a violent species who try to tame what is different from them. Humans hate being seen as inferior to any other species and that's why till the age of eighteen we are completely human. We also fight to protect this world from evil. What happened to you is what we call the 'transition period'.  Although, you started your transition a month earlier than usual. When one gets their angel side, their body completely shuts down to adapt to having the angel within. Your body did that but it went a lot faster, usually it would last two days, but yours was half a day or less. We don't know why you are so different yet, but we are looking into it. The following week, you'll be noticing different things about yourself and you'll feel as if something is trying to push out of your body that would be your wings. Right now, the first thing you will notice are your eyes."

 Dad holds out a handheld mirror that he got from Ariel and shows me. I gasp because in place of my usual ocean blue eyes, where a pair of vivid dark purple eyes. Holy shit!

"This means that your angel side is dominating over your human side. You'll have to learn to control it so you can keep your human appearance. We can control our scent so that our secret isn't out. Everyone believes us to be extinct or in hiding and we are, in hiding that is. We can't let the humans know we're here because they will try to control us. They can't, but its a real pain in the ass if they try. We use to number in the millions, but over the years those who wished to rule over us would kill us if they couldn't do it. Many were slain and that is why we try to blend in with the humans. We can not let the humans find out about us. The only ones who can know about us are our mates. I'll let your mom explain that later. Another obvious change is your body, it will be physically changing. You'll notice what I mean later, this isn't too important since it'll just make you really attractive, more so than now. This is only to ensure that our kind survive. Our species has adapted to ensure that we survive and not become extinct. You can't get a girl pregnant if she doesn't find you in the least bit attractive, unless you force it, but that's horrible. The next change will be you coming into your powers, our eyes are also an indicator of what our power could be. For example, Ariel's eyes are a golden color, that you have seen before, but never knew why. She's still learning to control her angel side. Her power is controlling the sun around her and manipulating it to hide herself. Of course, we have the basic power such as healing, mind reading, super strength and much more. Every angel has a certain element that they can control. Raph's eyes are a white color. He can control water. Nobody else but him can do that, there use to be others, but they were wiped out. Your eyes are purple, I don't yet know what your power will be. I think the final change that you will notice will be when your wings finally come. That is what the pressure near the upper area on your back is. When they come in you'll become even more agile and yes, you will be able to fly with them, but that training will be at night. They are almost like another appendage. Now, I'll let your mom talk to you about mates, because I'm kind of tired of talking."

 I stay there and say nothing because this is too much to take in. I hold my hand up before mom can begin talking.

"I think I need some time to digest what has just been said. I don't know what to think right, now. I want to say you're all crazy, but dad has said somethings that are pretty close to what I'm feeling. I can't explain the sudden change of eye color either, or the fact that I feel complete. I need fresh air."

 I try to get up. Key word being try, I stood up, but my legs gave out on me. I ended up tumbling back down onto the couch where I've been since I've woken up and maybe even longer. Raph tries to catch me, but he's a bit too late. I look over to him and give him a small smile. I sigh and realize that I won't be able to go to school today, since it's already five in the morning. 

"Raph, show me your eyes, please." 

 He gives me an unsure nod and I look around at my family. Everyone was staring at me and waiting for my reaction. I look into Raph's eyes and gasp because they really are and almost completely white eye. The only thing that is colored is the pupil. 

"Can you show me your power?"

"Ok."

 He moves his hand in the air and the water in the glass that I was holding began to move swirl around in the cup. He lifts his hand and the mini-water tornado began to lift into the air. I can't believe this is happening. It's an amazing sight to see actually. I was mesmerized and followed it with my eyes. I look over at Raph, who was smirking, and smiled at him. He made the water move around the room in the air. It was almost like it was dancing, until the water shoots straight toward Ariel, who didn't notice until it was too late. She was soaked and I started laughing. Raph and Dad soon joined me, while mom shook her head with a smile on her face. Ariel's eyed turned golden. There was a flash of white and a sudden heat that came with it and she was dry again.

"That seems like a very convenient power to have."

 I yawned and felt really tired all of a sudden.

"Right, it's very late. Ariel and Uriel, you're not going to school today."

"Mom, I have to. We have a game on Saturday and Coach Philip wants us to practice extra hard."

"Ariel, I need you here you to take care of Uri. Your dad has work and Raph and I will be looking through some of the books."

 She sighs and nods her head.

"We'll continue this conversation tomorrow. Uri, your mental training starts tomorrow while your physical training starts next week ok?"

I nod and hold my hands up. I know I won't be able to move on my own for a while. My entire body is sore. In fact, I can barely keep my hands up. Raph chuckles and walks over to me. He ruffles my hair making me whine and then he lifts me into his arms. I lean into his chest and snuggle into it. He chuckles and holds me tighter. I really miss this. I remember when I was younger, Raph would always carry me to bed whenever I would fall asleep in the living room or somewhere that wasn't my bed. He dumps me on the bed and I groan. He chuckles again and says sorry. I laugh and throw a pillow at him. He laughs again and was about to leave till I stopped him.

"Raph, will you stay with me please?"

"Of course, Uri. Can I ask why?"

"I don't really know. I just want to cuddle with my older brother."

 I give him my famous puppy pout and he groans.

"I already said yes, why are you giving me your puppy pout?"

 I laugh and scoot over to make some room.

"I'll be right back. I need to get into some pajamas and I'm sure you do too. I'll send Ariel in to help you, baby bro."

 I nod and he leaves. Ariel comes in and helps me into some pj's. I ask her if she wants to join in on the sibling sleep over. She nods and quickly leaves to get change. Raph comes in and I let him know Ari will be joining us and he nods. He gets in and hugs me close. I can feel him relax and then Ari enters the room in her pj's. She quickly gets in on the other side and cuddles into me. I close my eyes and try to sleep. I hear Ari and Raph's breath even out and I know they're asleep. I open my eyes and smile because I really love my siblings. They can always make me feel better. Things are changing and I need to control my angel if I want to be able to go out without people asking me if I have contacts in. I know that things will be difficult for me, especially with what happened, but with family like mine I know I'll get through it. I just have to decide if I should tell them. I'm scared that they will find me disgusting and pathetic because of it.
