Chapter 3

Today was a special day. A day of celebration.

The truth is that Jungkook had never seen Hoseok so excited, although it was understandable, because today his brother came to visit after several months without seeing him.

"And how long is he going to stay?" Taehyung asked him as they helped clear the table. They had chosen to eat at home instead of staying in the usual place. They wanted to relax and be as outrageous as allowed.

“Well, he usually stays only a couple of days before catching a plane again to God knows what destination. But since the other time he was there, it happened that I was out of town, he will surely stay a couple more days to make up for it. The beta said with an aura of happiness around him.

"Maybe he'll find something that will make him stay longer." Jimin suggested, to which Hoseok reacted immediately by moving his eyebrows and then bursting out laughing next to the alpha. Even Taehyung joined them, although Jungkook wasn't sure if it was because Hoseok's laughter was contagious or because he really knew what they were talking about. The young omega, for his part, had not understood anything.

"Now that you mention it, I think Jungkook could help me with that."

Jungkook looked at him blankly. "Me?"

"Yes, you. I never said it because the opportunity had not presented itself, but you are my brother's ideal type." Said the beta as he looked him up and down, nodding to himself.

Jungkook couldn't help but turn a little red at the attention, though he tried to cover it up with a snort.

"I'm sure this time he will not miss the opportunity to be with you."

It was kind of strange, the way Hoseok had said the last sentence, as if his brother and Jungkook had met before.

Which was impossible, because if so, Hoseok would have announced it in a big way, just as he was doing now.

"If you say so, hyung." Jungkook had probably misunderstood him.

The afternoon was pretty uneventful, especially since everyone was curious to find out more about the beta's mystery brother.

Mysterious, because he never spoke of him, at least he had never given a name.

"I don't see him very often, he's busy with his work," Hoseok had once said, "besides, he's quite famous in a certain field."

The latter, of course, increased everyone's curiosity, who began to ask for details, but the beta still did not yield.

“You will see it tonight. Be patient." The beta tried to reassure them with a smile.

“You have piqued our curiosity, and now you expect us to be left without knowing? It's unfair, hyung." Jungkook complained as he used his puppy dog look to get the beta to give in.

Which he did when Jimin and Taehyung joined him.

“Agh, why do you always have to make that face? Well, I can't say his name, because it would be too obvious, but I can anticipate that his work is related to hotels."

"That's not enough, hyung." Taehyung complained this time. "You must be more specific." Jimin added.

“I would like to, but look at what time it is. Time to go."

The three young men started to protest, but Hoseok was right. It was time to start preparing if they didn't want to be late.

Fortunately, they had everything ready, and they were soon at the meeting point. They were in a family restaurant that was quite popular in the area; Seokjin and Namjoon were already waiting for them when they arrived.

At this point, they had all met and greeted each other as if they were lifelong friends. It was amazing how quickly you could connect with some people, as if you had known them forever.

They all came in and sat in their reserved spot, Hoseok assuring them that his brother would be a little late and that they could all order something to eat.

They were having a good time, recounting what had happened to them in the time when they had not seen each other, and drinking while preparing food, when Jungkook noticed a change in the air.

It wasn't exactly a change in temperature, nor was it a more tense atmosphere at their table, as everyone was laughing at the little fight that Hoseok and Seokjin had over the ingredients of a sauce. The change was in the smell, and it had nothing to do with the food that was being prepared or what was already served at neighboring tables.

It smelled of forest, rain, and wet earth.

He smelled like Yoongi.

But it couldn't be. The last time Jungkook saw him was the very day he was leaving, and the alpha never told him anything that he would return.

Maybe he didn't want you to know? An annoying voice whispered in his mind.

Impossible, Yoongi wanted to stay.

Jungkook knew it, even though he couldn't recognize it until a long time later. And his wolf knew it too, from the start. Right now, Jungkook was having an internal debate between analyzing the source of that smell - because it was impossible for it to be Yoongi, it had to be something else - and letting himself be carried away by the instincts of the wolf and looking for the alpha.

But none of that was going to happen. Beside him, Jimin noticed the change in Jungkook, the tension in his body, the struggle with himself. And just when he asked if she was okay, Hoseok screamed with joy as he got up from the table.

"Yoongi, my brother!"

They all turned to see the effusive hug with which Hoseok received his brother, imprisoning him in such a way that he barely left room to return the gesture.

"I need air." Yoongi said as he patted his brother on the back so that he would loosen his grip around him. "I didn't know you wanted to kill me."

"I just missed you so much, hyung." Hoseok told him with a big smile as he put an arm around his shoulder and pulled him towards him.

"The poor man has been counting the hours until you arrive." Seokjin commented with a smile on his face.

"I would too after so many months." Namjoon added.

Jungkook was aware of the conversation that was taking place, but to him it was like background noise.

All his attention was focused on Yoongi, on his scent, on his voice. That voice that had captivated him that night as they talked at the bar, the same voice that, husky with desire, had whispered fiery words in his ear. The same voice that had reminded him that he deserved to be valued by someone.

It was strange to be in this situation. Jungkook had wanted with all his might to see Yoongi again, he had fantasized about a chance meeting, orchestrated by fate to reunite them. He had even thought of everything he would say to the alpha once he was in front of him.

Now all those thoughts were scattered, aimlessly in the wide ocean that his mind had become. However, he was able to recover in time to see how Hoseok introduced him to his friends, both with a polite smile. He didn't quite understand why Hoseok hadn't introduced the three of them together, since they were the only new ones in the group, but he didn't have time to give it much thought.

"And this is-"

"Jungkook." Yoongi said, interrupting his brother.

Jungkook could feel it, the electricity that ran through his body when his gaze connected with Yoongi's. It was as if his senses were heightened, sensing everything around him.

Of course, Jungkook preferred to focus on Yoongi, who had a calm face, but his eyes were full of emotions that reflected the same emotions that Jungkook felt.

"Yoongi." The young omega greeted him shortly after.

Everyone at the table was surprised, shifting their attention from alpha to omega and vice versa, waiting for something to happen, whatever it was, to cut the tension and expectation.

For some reason unrelated to Jungkook, Hoseok was the only one who didn't seem surprised. Interested, but not surprised.

"Did you already know each other?" Namjoon asked on behalf of everyone at the table, hoping either of them would answer.

"We met at a disco." Yoongi replied calmly as he took a seat, as if he had just been asked for the time.

"You, in a disco? Come on, Yoongi, if you hate crowds. " Seokjin said with an incredulous smile. Yoongi just stared at him, and the beta's smile faded from his face.

"Damn, he's telling the truth." Beside him, Namjoon was trying to hide his smile.

"Wait, is it true? Did you meet at a disco? " Jimin asked, to which Jungkook sheepishly nodded. "And when did that happen?" Jimin added confused.

"What? But he was with you, hyung. "

"Kookie," his friend said as he put a hand on his shoulder, "I assure you that if I had seen an alpha like him with you, I would have noticed."

"You were dancing, that's why you didn't see it." Jungkook replied calmly as Yoongi asked if Jimin's comment should be taken as an attack or a compliment.

"A compliment, hyung." Hoseok told him, already sitting next to his brother.

"Kookie, if what you're saying is true, then—" Jimin stopped mid-sentence, slowly turning to Yoongi, inspecting him, then turning to Taehyung. The pair looked into each other's eyes, and Jungkook knew that the two were connecting the dots, communicating with a simple glance.

"It's him, right?" Jimin whispered, who received a nod from Taehyung. “Yes, hyung, the same one who accompanied Jungkookie to the bathroom. The same one that took all the stress out of him. "

The couple started laughing as Jungkook looked away from the table, completely embarrassed. Looking up, he could see that Yoongi was also affected by the comment, his cheeks slightly tinged with a pinkish color, and his lips drawing a small smile when their gazes met.

His friends were trying to remove the discomfort from the environment at the unexpected turn of events, Jungkook knew, but it was no less embarrassing for that. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what had happened between him and Yoongi after hearing his friends' comment.

“A public bathroom? Really, Yoongi? " Seokjin asked with a raised eyebrow.

"We should give it a try, Joonie." Seokjin commented in a whisper that everyone could hear that caused Namjoon to choke on what he was drinking, causing everyone to burst into laughter.

The food arrived shortly after, and everyone devoured what they had ordered while chatting.

Most of the conversation revolved around Yoongi and his work, as Hoseok had been quite reserved in revealing any kind of information.

It turns out that Yoongi was the owner of the Paradise hotel chain, famous for the unique design of each of its hotels as well as the wide range of services it offered, always including something characteristic of the area in which each hotel was located. The chain accumulated awards that ranged from the quality of the service to the avant-garde and daring design of its architecture.

It was strange that Yoongi, with all the money he had - probably more than everyone else in the restaurant - did not brag about it, as many would. He just seemed more comfortable in a quiet, less luxurious place like this, further away from business suits and closer to skinny, ripped jeans and leather jackets. Totally the opposite of what you expected.

After dinner, and while everyone was saying goodbye, Yoongi and Jungkook exchanged phone numbers. And if their fingers brushed longer than necessary, no one had to know. It was a promise that they would keep in touch, that they would see each other again.

That night, when Jungkook went to sleep, he did so surrounded by Yoongi's scent, which had stuck to his clothes like a second skin, as if that was his place.
