The red stained spear glimmered in the moonlight. The smile she gave once full of life and happiness faded away as she saw his eyes.

"I-I'm okay James." She said wiping the tears off her lovers face.

"B-b-Becky," James sobbed more, gripping the spear that was taking the life out of her slowly, "w-why did it have to come to this." The crimson dye slowly slid down the tip staining the carpet.

Rebecca's memories were slowly fading away but they both knew it was the right choice. The disease that has taken many lives of their friends has spread to her and her final wish was to not hurt anyone anymore. She took his hands into hers and smiled once again. She took the gun out of her back pocket and rearmed it.

"I love you" a bullet rang throughout the empty room and the only thing to break the noise was the sound of Becky's body hitting the floor.

James stayed there all night wishing he died too as her tenderly rubbed the bite he had also received trying to protect her.
