Chapter 9- Head Games
[Head Games by Foreigner]
"Hey guys." I said smiling at them. Thank god Lars heard the guys come in. I could not let them catch us like that. At least not yet. "Hey Riley. How did you like the show?" James asked me grinning ear to ear. "It was really great James! Honestly, I don't know how it could have been better." I stood up and gave him a hug. Kirk said "aww" and I rolled my eyes at him. I pulled away from the hug "I'm glad you enjoyed it. We do our best during every show. Right Kirk?" He looked over at Kirk and he nodded. "Lars does his best too. He puts his all into it." Lars smiled at me. Gosh he's so cute. Every time I'm daydreaming it's about us together. He's playing games with my mind and so are the rest of the guys. They knew the whole time that he liked me. Maybe they know about the kiss too and that I like him too. I hope not. Kirk would rub it in my face. He's been trying to set me up and I can tell. And he got James in on it too. I'm going to tell Kirk today so maybe we can end this. "Alright guys. I've mingled with the fans and I'm ready to go. See you in a couple days Jason. Remember we have practice tomorrow. Show up." James signaled to Jason and then to us. We walked back out to the van.
We hung out for a while until Lars and James went to the nearby store to get alcohol. Kirk and I stayed behind. "So, how has the tour been for you so far? I know it's the only the first night, but are you enjoying being with us?" He asked me crossing his legs in his seat. I sat next to him. "Yes I am, very much so. Thank you." I nodded. "I have to talk to you Kirk." "Okay. What is it Riley?" I took a breath in and got ready to tell him what happened.
"Look, I know you've been trying to set me up with Lars. First the look when he got here. Second his call to sit next to him. Third, sharing a blanket. And fourth, my seat at the concert tonight. I'm not sure if it's because you knew that he liked me or you could tell I liked him. We.. uhh.. kissed earlier..." I stopped talking for a second and Kirk looked at me wide-eyed. "I don't want you to tell James. I feel like he'd be mad or think it's going to interfere with your band." Kirk just smiled at me. "Riley, I'm glad. I won't tell James, I promise. I wouldn't want to ruin this for you." "Are you sure?" I asked, a bit nervous. "Yes, I'm sure. You worry too much. Just be happy that you're with Lars now." He laughed and winked at me. Just then, Lars walked onto the bus. "Hello hello!" James followed behind him. "Hey Kirk. Hey Riley. Did you miss me?" James grinned. Lars came and sat next to me. My heart started racing again. When am I gonna get used to this?
