Chapter 8 - Antagonizing
The sound of the door opening caught my attention. I wasn't able to move my head because of the Athenal Oxide but I could see their feet. It was the shoes that one of the scientists wore.
I felt someone adjust the chains that were attached to the sides of the room, keeping my arms outwards away from me. When they were done, they stood in front of me. My anger increased but I couldn't do anything about it. They exhaled a breath before they began to walk around the room. When the scientist started to talk, I instantly recognized it as the leader.
???: You will be put into training once I do a few tests.
He put a syringe into my neck and injected something into me. He began to walk back and forth throughout the room. As he tested me, I felt my blood burning. Not from whatever he injected into me, but from rage.
???: Your mind has evolved greatly, Project-7834EQ. It seems Agent Comyet has been teaching you some things recently.
I managed all of my strength to speak.
Me: My... name... is... Error.
???: Pardon?
Me: My... name... is... Error.
He exhaled a breath.
???: I see. You will be put through training in a few minutes.
He exited the room, leaving me to my thoughts. I thought about the place outside of the building. If I could figure out a way to escape these chains, I could find Ink and then we could leave this place.
The drawing on the wall came to me. The layout of the rooms and hallways. There were a total of fifteen major rooms and three hallways that connected them together. The exit was to the right of the building. I just had to figure out where I was and where Ink was. I didn't want to think about the possibility that he could be dead.
Guards walked into the room and disconnected the chains from the things that covered my hands. They picked me up and dragged me out of the room. I slowly felt my motion come back to me as I was put into the training room. Looking at the clear wall, I saw the scientists writing on their boards.
The guards took off the covers on my hands. Taking this as an opportunity, I blasted a guard with one of my weapons. This caused the others to point their guns at me. Putting my hands up, I pretended to surrender. That's when I created strings and used them to destroy the guns.
Suddenly, one of them pulled out a smaller gun and shot my arm with a weird object. Looking at it, I saw that it was filled with Athenal Oxide. That's when my vision became blurry as I fell to the ground.
'How can such a strong weapon be easily defeated by a simple liquid?'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was locked up in the strange room again. They made sure that I was paralyzed completely. The chains were tightened and they put more around my body.
I heard the door open. My anger grew as I expected it to be a guard or scientist. However, it wasn't either of them.
Me: Who... are... you?
???: It's Jess. You know, the chick you hurt with that Blaster?
She kneeled in front on me.
Jess: Ink is still alive.
Me: He... is?
Jess: He's being kept in a coma with life preserving chemicals supporting him. Ink's father may be a total dick but... he would never want to kill his own son.
She exhaled a breath.
Jess: Look, Ink is a good kid. He deserves to have a much better life. So, what I'm going to do is take your chains off and deactivate the gas.
After she stood up, I felt the chains loosen around me. The gas started to dissipate, giving me back the sense of mobility. As soon as I was able to speak without any difficulties, I looked up at her.
Me: How can I repay you?
Jess: You can repay me by saving Ink. He's located in the healing ward.
Standing up, I headed towards the door. Before I could leave the room, I heard Jess speak.
Jess: I'm sure you're completely capable of fending for yourself.
A smile grew on my face as I opened the door.
Me: I'm the world's strongest weapon.
As I walked out, a noise started blaring. I began to run through the hallway. Keeping the drawing in my head, I easily found the room.
Walking between the many wounded soldiers, I found Ink in a bed tucked away in the corner. I stared at him, trying to figure out the best way to pick him up.
His biological body was completely different from mine. My body was made up of artificial components and radiation. Since he was bio, I had to be extremely careful because he was fragile.
I picked him up slowly. My right arm supporting his back and my left arm under his knees.
Holding him close to me, I started heading towards the exit of the building. Guards barged into the room, pointing their guns at me. I made Blasters and threatened them.
Guard: Put Agent Comyet back.
I held Ink's unconscious body closer to me. They crossed the line when they dragged him into this.
Me: Don't worry Ink. I'll find a way out of here.
I used strings to pull the guards out of the way and then started running towards the exit. The door was located on the opposite side of the building so I had to be very gentle but cautious. I kept Ink in a protective hold as I ran through the building.
The guards weren't a problem after I opened the door and entered the world that was unknown to me. I remembered the way to Ink's home when I chased him last time.
Before I entered the city, I stopped in my tracks. Looking at Ink, I exhaled a breath.
Me: You probably wouldn't want people seeing you like this, would you?
Turning to my right, I walked behind the buildings to stay out of sight of the people. When I came to his apartment, I looked at the clear wall that I used to get in and out.
Me: I think I should use the door this time.
I talked to an unconscious Ink. Walking through the door, I headed up to the higher part of the building. That's when I bumped into a woman. My guess is that she was the landlord.
Smith: What happened to Ink?
I had to lie.
Me: He passed out. Low blood pressure.
Smith: I see. Are you his boyfriend?
Remembering the definition of the word "boyfriend", I remembered the word "love".
Me: ...
Yes, I am
A Quick Discussion
You don't antagonize a weapon. Especially if you threaten the one they want to protect.
