CHAPTER 3
Jungkook
After giving her back a nice patch and cleaning, she decided to sleep while I decided to watch on the Television.
I switched on to the news channel.
"Jeon Jungkook, once again got escaped despite being surrounded by four police cars. The criminal won't just give himself up and kept on killing lawyers with no reasonable motives."
"Why is he killing lawyers? What is Jeon Jungkook up to? And who is his next target?"
The reporters kept blabbering so I iust switched it up to other news channels. My hands automatically pressed next and Lisa's face was plastered on the screen, catching my attention.
"Lalisa Manoban, the CELINE muse and the official IT GIRL of Asia has gone missing for weeks and was last seen on a runway show with Jung Jaewon also known as ONE, the rising rap star of Korea."
"Some say that she's been kidnapped but was later on found out that she ran away from home. This statement was confirmed by ONE himself, Lisa's rumored boyfriend. And he also confirmed that Lisa had been going through a lot of things which explains her long hiatus."
"But her fans and the people of Asia are anticipating for the IT GIRL's return and future projects."
So... she's a model? And she ran away?
The news ended just like that with only me and Lisa on the screen.
Now I'm slowly completing the puzzles around here. The answers why she's on the road, why she's all alone and why she's been wounded so badly.
I slowly stood up and started cooking for dinner. I didn't know her favorite so I just cooked Pork Belly Stew which is my favorite.
I need to exert effort if I want answers.
After I finished cooking, I went to my room to check on her. I knocked before I entered. Then I saw her sitting on my bed, staring at the window. Probably watching the droplets of rain pouring down outside.
"Hey..." I called in calm manner. She slowly looked back at me.
"Dinner's ready." I said to her.
She slowly stood up and walked pass me. She went straight to the kitchen, taking her seat and waited for me to arrive.
I placed the dish on the table and I motioned her to start eating. She just did as she was told and silently ate her dinner.
I stared at her from time to time while I chew my food. I'm not being a creep. I'm just curious about something.
"Your back... Does it still hurt?" I started.
She shook her head. Awkward silence illuminated the kitchen since I don't know what else to say.
I cleared my throat, "Lisa."
She looked up to me while munching her food.
"Since you're living under my roof, is it okay If I ask you few questions?" I asked in a polite manner.
"No." She shook her head confidently.
I was a bit taken a back at her sass. She's a snob for a model. She got some attitude.
"Why?" I asked her.
"I don't trust you." She straight up said.
I raised an eyebrow at her, "You don't trust me? Then why are staying at my house? Why did you let me treat your wounds?"
"Why don't you ask yourself? Why did let me stay? Why did you treat me?" She countered.
"I already told you. I was like you before." I answered.
She smirked, "Really? Were you kidnapped before?"
"No."
"Did you get stabbed with a knife before?"
"Yes."
"Did you get shot before?"
"Yes."
"Then did you get raped? Get yourself stripped in front of a crowd? Get forced to give a good fuck to random people? Get tied on a pole and not eat for a week? Drink your own urine? Eat cockroaches? Get your nails peeled off of your fingers? Get fucked until you bleed? Did you ever experienced that?" She asked, her eyes on the verge of crying.
My mouth was agape and my eyes were slightly widened at what she just asked me. Don't tell me...
"N-No... Did you-"
"Then don't dare say I was like you before. If you can't understand my pain, just leave me alone." She continued eating her food again.
My mouth automatically shut close. Don't tell me that's what happened to her.
"Did One did those to you?" I asked out of curiosity.
She suddenly looked up to me with her face full of shock.
"How did you..."
"So he did. That rapper. He did these to you." I said and pointed at the visible bruises on her neck.
"You know him?" She squinted her eyes at me.
"It was just a wild guess. The two of you are all over the news." I answered.
She just looked down at her food and decided to shut up.
"Tell me, Lisa. Is he your boyfriend?" I asked her.
She shook her head, "No."
Her answer made me let out a small sigh of relief. I don't know why I suddenly felt relieved. But atleast, she ain't got no reason to be tied to that bastard.
"I should leave... tomorrow." She suddenly uttered.
"Why?" I asked with my brows furrowing.
"Now that you've mentioned him, he must be searching for me now. And if he finds out I'm with you, you'll end up dead." She looked at me.
I chuckled at her, "He can't kill me. He can't find us. We're in the middle of the forest. Nobody can find us."
"You don't know him. He can shoot you dead even if we're in the ends of the world map." She eyed me.
"You don't know me either." I spat back at her.
She just gave me a look and started playing with her food, "Are you saying you're letting me stay here forever? With you?"
"You said that, not me. But your question is yours to answer. Just so you know, I'd pretty much acknowledge your company. I'm willing to give you the 'help' you need." I said to her.
She stayed quiet for a moment and stared at me for a while as she tilted her head to the side, "How are you going to help me?"
"It's more like a deal than help. But you got an advantage in all the benefits given." I assured her.
"Like what?"
"I can teach you man to man combat. I can feed you. I can provide you shelter. I can protect you. I have a lot of connections. And all I want from you is your participation." I spilled.
"In what?"
"In my revenge plan." I said to her.
She squinted her eyes at me, "Revenge? What revenge? To whom?"
I smirked, "Say yes and you'll get saved from that curiosity." I stretched my hand for her to shake.
She gave me a suspicious look and looked down at my hand, offering her a shake.
A smug immediately crept up my lips when she finally took my hands and shook it, "Deal."
"I'll tell you the whole story tomorrow. Now, finish your food and rest early. We're going out tomorrow." I said to her.
"What? Isn't it dangerous for us to go out?" She glared at me.
I smirked at her, "Your participation includes trusting me. Start doing it now and get use to it." I replied. She decided to just shut up and continued to eat.
Dinner is already done and I did the dishes again. Well, to me she's still a visitor.
After doing the dishes, I proceeded locking the doors and making sure that the lights are all off so we wouldn't get noticed.
I went straight to my room when I finished. Then I saw her standing by the window, watching the rain pour down.
"I told you to sleep, Lisa." I said in a calm voice. She slowly looked back at me.
"We only have one bed. Are we sleeping together?" She asked.
My eyes slightly widened at a realization. Now that she mentioned, I only have one room in this house and one bed.
And sleeping in the living room isn't on my option.
"No. I'm sleeping on the floor. You sleep on the bed. We need to stick together in case something happens." I said to her and went to my drawer to grab some sheets for me to lay on.
Sure, I'll get bruises when I wake up from that tiled cold floor. But I have no choice.
"The bed is big enough for two." She offered.
I shook my head, "You should sleep on it."
"The floor is cold and hard. I'm willing to give space for you in the bed." She insisted.
"You were acting so cold and rude in front of me earlier. Now, you're being generous." I chuckled at her, trying to change the topic as I lay the sheets on the floor on grabbing one pillow on the bed.
"I don't really mind sharing the bed with you." She kept insisting.
"Well, I do. So just go back to bed and let's sleep. We need to be early tomorrow." I said to her.
She just heaved a deep sigh but obeyed me anyway. She lied on the bed while I laid down on the sheeted floor.
"Jungkook..." She called.
Wow, that's a first. It's a first time for me to hear a woman's voice mentioning my name. Aside from my mom. And I swear I wouldn't get tired of her voice calling out my name like that.
I hummed in response.
"Thank you..." She muttered.
"For what?"
"For not ditching me on the road that night."
