Kiku's POV

"Okay, i'rr terr you".

"Go a-right ahead", Sadik said.

~¤~¤~¤~¤ Flashback ¤~¤~¤~¤~¤~

In the warm, turquoise waters of the Mediterranean sea two mermen, a koi and a siren, swam aimlessly in the watery abyss. The prince, Feliciano, wanted to explore the surface of the sea than to explore the outcrop of his soon to be ruled kingdom, as advised. He brought along his trusty friend and companion, Kiku.

"Come-a on-a I want to-a see the surface world-a!" A bubbly siren yelled.

"B-but, your grandfather wirr kirr you, and Yao wirr kirr me if we breach the surface Feri-kun" I yelled back.

"Come-a on! Kiku, please with-a seaweed on top." Feliciano pleaded with puppy eyes.

Those puppy eyes could make a shark obey him, literally.

I sighed and gave in. I swear those eyes are going to be the death of me. (A/n: Oh, if ya only knew Kiku)

"Fine Feri-kun, just for a minute."

"Yay! Grazie!"

"Hahaheh, we've got a good catch today, boys!"

"Aye! But two or three more merfolk wouldn't hurt, would it?"

"Nay, not at all. So what are ye standin' there for? Get the nets ready again!"

"Aye captain!" All said in unison.

"I'm-a so excited, Kiku! Seeing the-a surface and-a all, I-a mean who-a wouldn't! We-a get to see the-a fluffy things in-a the air, I think they call it... the Sky." Feliciano chatted excitedly.

"Hai Feri-kun, just wait up I'm not as fast as you!"

"Is it because you're an old man?" Feliciano joked.

"N-nani?! I'm not an old man, you're a Siren and you know furry werr that I'm a koi!"

"Ve~ slipped my mind."

As Feliciano giggled, I was about to explode until he asked a very curious question.

"Ve~, Kiku why-a do-a merfolk with blowholes need to breach the surface? I-a mean they-a have gills right, and-a they-a are allowed to-a breach the-a surface right-a."

I was still a little agitated from before, but it also intrigued me as well. But before I could answer, a grand shadow appeared right over our heads.

"Ve~! Kiku what-a is-a that?!" Feliciano exclaimed.

"I have no crue", I said bluntly.

"Than let's-a make friends with-a it!"

"Wait! Fericiano, we don't know if it's hostire or not!"

My instincts went on high and the adrenaline started coursing through my veins from the great shadow above us. Of course, Feliciano didn't take heed and continued to swim forth.

I managed to grab the fin of his tail and pull him down.

"Fericiano! I'm not joking aroundo, what if it is hostire! Do you want the same thing too happen to you, like your Brother!"

I knew I went to far, because I saw tears in his eyes. I felt bad for bringing such a painful subject.

"Sorry feri-kun, my temper got out of contror―"

"No, no I'm the-a one to-a be saying a-sorry."

But, before I can talk to him something like a black cluster came out of nowhere towards him. I pushed him out of the way and got tangled up in the black matter.

"SWIM, FERI, SWIM! DON'T ROOK BACK, SWIM!!" I yelled through the gaps. I saw fear and horror in his, now open, eyes. As he swam away I felt a void of hopelessness, fear, and loneliness overtaking me as I struggled to get untangled, but entangled me even more. I was getting tired when I felt an upward tug on my tail.

I knew then that I was being pulled towards the surface. With this realization, I thrashed aimlessly to get out of the black matter. As the black matter was pulling up on my tail, the sense of panic was imminent.

I felt a cold twinge of ― what is it called, oh, right, air ― on my fins. I knew that my fate was sealed. I prayed to Poseidon and Salacia for their protection. I felt my entire tail in the air as well my body as it was exposed to the coolness of the air, the water dripped down from my sides sending chills up my spine.

My head was lifted out of my watery home, and then I saw myself staring at me. I was confused about how I saw myself starring, but my attention was quickly drawn by the noise heard above me." Haha, look at dis one, Cap'n!" I looked up and saw a hideous creature with yellow and black stained, gnarled teeth. I was at the very least repulsed. Then the creature dropped me with a thud.

Another creature came towards me and the other creature stepped aside, as the other one crept towards me. I was afraid of the position that I was in this situation.

"So what do we 'ave here, Snipps."

"It looks like we got a mermaid without breasts, haha Cap'n."

The other creatures face grew in disgust. "You dult! It's most likely we have a merman in our clutches," as a wicked grin spread across his face, I, on the other hand, shrunk back in fear.

"You have the right to be very afraid, merman, cause we ain't gonna put you back into the ocean blue." (A/n: Western accent? Lol)

"Cap'n! One of the Spanish Royal Navy ships is here, an' gainin' speed!"

The 'Cap'n' had a panicked look on his face," What the bloody hell is a Spanish Armada ship doing here?" His voice filled with confusion. He took something out of one of the other creatures hand and brought it to his face. He stared at nothing for a while and his face paled, his lip quivered, then turned lionfish red.

"How did that bloody Spanish bastard find us! Men arm the cannons and aim to sink the bloody Red Bull."

"What do we do with the merman?"

"Put him with the others, and make sure to cover your ears this time."

"Aye Cap'n!"

Before he could pick me up, a sudden boom blasted in the air, vessel rocked back and forth. My body moved a bit with the foreign movement, but then the other creature stumbled a bit and fell into a hole in the vessel. That's when I realized I could escape, but one problem was that I still was tangled in the black net. I wiggle towards the edge and used the opening of the black net to slip my arms through and gripped the edge and hoisted myself up.

Then a whistling sound came before another boom and a huge crackling sound from above, and something hit my head before I could look up. My vision was fading to black and my body was falling towards the water with a splash. The last thing I saw was bubbles.

The others looked astonished at what I told them and somewhat dazed. It reminded me of Feliciano when I told him stories back then when we were guppies. Sadik snapped out of his daze first and nudged the others.

"So that's how you-a ended up in that net", Sadik said.

"Hai, that's what happened."

Then Gupta stood up and walked away towards a doorway, and he came back with a few items in his arms. Hercules, Sadik, and I looked confused with the items he was holding.

"So, what's a-up with the clothes, Gupta?" Sadik looked in confusion.

"Well, I do have this magical item that might change him into a human."

"WHAT?!" Heracles and Sadik yelled.

Heracles' POV

I was dumbfounded by the fact he had such an item. Why keep it a secret when there was an actual merman in front of us. He must've been waiting to roll that out.

"Umm, why keep it a secret til now," I asked.

"Well... I only had it for a while", Gupta said," I just got a trade with it with one of Arthur's brothers."

"I'm gonna have to tell Arthur this, aren't I", Sadik said aggravatedly.

"Yep."

"Anywho, Heracles can you put Kiku on the floor please", Gupta asked.

I nodded my head and proceeded towards the tub. The flutters in my stomach began to rise again as I got closer. I came near the edge of Kiku's tub," Is it ok if I picked you up again", I asked with a slight blush.

"Hai", he said meekly.

So, I dipped my hands in the water, and I put my arms around his waist and tail. I tried to pick him up, but I felt him pushed himself downwards. I got the courage to speak again and asked he was alright.

He shook his adorable head no.

"If it's alright with you... you can wrap your arms around my neck, and can support you, okay?"

He nodded yes. His slender arms wrapped around my neck, I finally was able to pick him up I kept him close to my chest, and I hoped that my heart wasn't thumping loudly.

I set him down on the floor as Gupta instructed and stepped back. I watched as Gupta chanted in an ancient language with the magical item in his hand. The item looked like a beautifully designed pendant with a gorgeous aqua color along with a marbled gold stone with a swirl in the middle.

The pendant started to glow as he continued his chant. He put the pendant around Kiku's neck, and his tail started to glow dimly as Gupta finished his incantation. Kiku's tail was glowing brighter, but what surprised me was as his tail got brighter his fins started to part into two legs.

I stared in wonder as I saw a merfolk turn human.
