The lady at the front desk was mean, old, and scared the living daylights out of Catalina.

"State your full name," she grumbled harshly, sounding old and bitter.

Catalina was frightened. "Um, Catalina Marisol Cabello Estrabao,"

The lady eyed her up and down. She scoffed, before handing her her class schedule. Then she handed Lauren hers.

As they walked out of the office, Catalina heard the receptionist mumble something under her breath.

"Pink princess. They're going to eat her alive,"

"Don't listen to her," Lauren said, putting an arm around her best friend's shoulder. "We're going to do great here,"

"What's your first class?" Catalina asked.

"Sports medicine, how about you?"

"English, which is on the other end of the school, which means I should head over there," Catalina sighed. "Tell me this wasn't a bad idea,"

"It's not. We'll be fine," Lauren held out her fist, smiling. Catalina rolled her eyes playfully. She bumped it, then hit the top and bottom of Lauren's fist with her own.

"Why couldn't we have come up with a better handshake when we were fourteen?" she giggled.

"Because we were lame. Good luck, my dude,"

Lauren walked inside her class, not expecting to see anyone that looked familiar. But she was wrong. In a corner, Camila sat alone, playing on her phone.

Lauren walked over and sat down in the desk in front of Camila. She turned around to face the girl and smiled. Camila didn't notice.

Lauren sighed loudly, trying to get the other girl's attention. There were whispers going on around the classroom, students wondering if it was actually the Lauren Jauregui. The award winning, woke, gorgeous, and seemingly flawless teen idol.

Lauren finally snatched Camila's phone away from her, causing the other girl to snap her head up, annoyed. Camila instantly blushed when she realized who it was. Lauren smiled brightly at her.

"Hi, Camzi," she said, face glowing. Camila was petrified.

"Lauren! Uh, hi," Camila said, flustered. Lauren looked really good today. Instead of wearing her signature leather jacket and band shirts, the young starlet wore jean shorts, a white and grey baseball tee, and a knit beanie. The black hair dye was fading, making Lauren's hair turn back into a brunette shade. Camila was getting hot and bothered just looking at her. How could someone look so perfect effortlessly?

"Mind if I sit with you?"

"Why do you want to?" Camila blurted out. Lauren quirked an eyebrow, mouth opening slightly.

"I-I mean, like, why do you want to sit with me in the back?" Camila asked. "I'm a nobody. I'm not that popular,"

"I don't care," Lauren shrugged. "And I don't believe that. I see so many people staring at you," Lauren gestured around the room. Now basically everyone was staring at the two and whispering.

"Lauren, they're looking at you,"

"Why would they do that?"

"Because you're ho- famous," Camila caught herself, cheeks turning deep red. Lauren frowned.

"Are you feeling alright? You look really red," she lifted up her hand and held it to Camila's forehead. "You're kind of feverish. Do you feel sick?"

"I-I'm fine," Camila coughed out. Lauren put her hand on the back of her chair.

"Okay, just making sure," Lauren pursed her lips, still concerned. "And I don't want friends who just like me because I'm famous. Like with you. I've known you for like, five years. If you wanted to use me for fame, I think you would have done that by now," she joked, laughing slightly. Camila smiled nervously in return.

"Settle down class," the teacher called, ready to start the lesson. Lauren winked at Camila, causing the girl's heart to burst, before turning around to face the front. The teacher was calling attendance.

When he got to Lauren's name, he paused. The teacher looked at Lauren apologetically.

"I'm going to apologize in advance for butchering your last name, kid," he said. Lauren shrugged it off.

"Jauregui. The 'J' is like an 'H.' And it's more like 'gee' than 'gui.'" Lauren said. Gasped filled the classroom.

"I told you it was her!" Camila heard someone whisper yell.

"What is she doing at our school?!"

"Are we being punk'd?"

"Oh my god, help me, she's so hot,"

The teacher rolled his eyes at these comments. "So, Lauren, where are you from?"

"Here, originally. I was suppose to go to Carrollton but then I moved to LA and was homeschooled," Lauren pushed a piece of hair behind her ear.

"Why do you look so familiar," the teacher asked himself quietly.

"That's Bo Chase from Stevie the Werewolf Hunter!" a boy yelled.

"She played that hot dead chick from that movie two summers ago! What was it? Ten Reasons How?"

"Thirteen Reasons Why, dumbass!" a girl corrected. Lauren blushed slightly. The teacher's eyes widened.

"Oh, you're that girl my daughter has a poster of in her room," the teacher said. Then he looked shocked. "Oh shoot, forget I said that,"

"I'm trying to," Lauren said, ears red.

"Uh," the teacher shifted awkwardly. "Did you get that Teen Choice Award? My daughter voted for you, I remember her talking about it. Or was it an Emmy? No, Oscar. Right? MTV Award?"

"Yeah..." Lauren shrank down in her chair. "Yeah, I won three of those,"

"Wow," the teacher mumbled to himself. "Accomplished more at seventeen than I have in forty four years,"

The entire class was staring at Lauren, including the teacher. Lauren felt really awkward. At least they weren't mobbing her. Or throwing things at her. Or trying to kiss her. God, those encounters were the worst.

Camila popped her head up from behind Lauren. "So are you going to finish attendance or not?"

The teacher snapped out of his daze, as did all the other students. He quickly picked his clipboard back up, embarrassed, and continued to read off names. Lauren turned around to Camila and smiled.

"Thank you," she mouthed. Camila gave a little shrug and grinned. Lauren's stare lingered, sending butterflies to Camila's stomach.

Lauren burst out in a fit of giggles when the two left the classroom.

"That was so awful," she said. Camila couldn't help but chuckle slightly.

"They were star struck,"

"They were acting like a bunch of deer in headlights," Lauren snorted. "Hopefully that was the only blunder I'll run into. Where are you going next?"

It wasn't. This happened in every other class the actress had. And other random encounters where students would just scream random questions at her.

"Why are you in school?"

"When does Looking For Alaska come out?"

"Are you dating Maia Mitchell?"

"Is it true you got fired from the TV show?"

"Catalina, we know it's you! Take off your glasses disguise!" someone yelled at Lauren and Camila.

"I'VE BEEN GOING TO SCHOOL WITH YOU FOR SEVEN YEARS. IT'S CAMILA, GREG!" Camila yelled back. The boy flushed with embarrassment. Lauren pulled her beanie down to try and hide her face so less people would recognize her.

"This is more embarrassing than my Oscar acceptance speech," she mumbled.

"When you dropped the mic on Emma Stone's feet? Or when you held the Oscar like a baby and called it 'my baby?'" Catalina smirked, walking up to Camila and Lauren. Lauren groaned.

"Please tell me your morning is going better than mine,"

"Yep, it is. Everyone thinks I'm Camila so they don't really recognize me," Catalina said. She frowned. "Actually, it's a little bad because junior girls keep giving me notes with their phone numbers on them thinking I'm Mila,"

Camila looked at her sister nervously. "W-what do they say?"

Catalina took one out of her pocket and cleared her throat. "'Why don't I help you stretch out after volleyball practice. XOXO' winkey face, heart," she read out loud.

Lauren started to laugh loudly. Camila's face turned a dark shade of red.

"'Not that popular' my ass," Lauren cackled. The three of them walked into the crowded cafeteria. Camila spotted her friends over at the table that they usually sat at the year before, leading Catalina and Lauren over towards them.

"How's your first day going?" Ally asked the two new students.

"I keep getting recognized," Lauren complained.

"Because you're famous," Catalina reasoned.

"Then how come you don't get recognized?"

"Because I look like her," Catalina pointed at Camila, who was sitting on the other side of Lauren. They high-fived over Lauren's head. "Perks of having a twin,"

__

"So how did your day go today?" Ally asked as she passed the volleyball with Camila for warmups.

"I have every single class with Lauren," Camila responded, voice hollow.

"Hey, that's great!"

"No it's not, it's awful," Camila wiped the sweat off her forehead. "At least I'll get a break when she films the show in the week,"

"You're acting like she's a disease and not someone you've been in love with since you were thirteen," Ally smirked. Camila groaned.

"Why did she have to come here?" she whined. "Why couldn't the show be renewed for one more season and then they would come back when I'm in college?"

"Because the world is a cruel, cruel place,"

"It really is,"

"I was being sarcastic,"

"Well I'm not," Camila tossed the ball at Ally. "Please spike this so hard in my face that it kills me,"

"No. We need you in our game against Carrollton," Ally said. Camila groaned again.

"I remember playing against them last year. Her friends were on that team. All they wanted to do was talk about how it was so funny how my twin and their best friend were on the same show,"

"C'mon, they were nice. And Lucy and Alexa took us to that party after,"

"Yeah, they were sweet," Camila admitted. "But right now can you just listen to me complain?"

"Sure, whatever," Ally shrugged. "I think you're overreacting,"

"I'm reacting a reasonable amount, thank you very much,"

"OW, MANI!"

Ally and Camila's head turned towards the sound. Dinah was on the floor with the ball rolling away from her. Normani stood ten feet away, hands covering her mouth. Dinah's nose was bleeding.

"Hansen!" their coach called. "You're suppose to hit the ball with your forearms, not your face!"

"SHUT UP, DAD. I'M BLEEDING OUT OF MY NOSTRILS,"

Gordon made face. "Alright, Ally, Camila, take her to the nurse. Normani, take a lap,"

The blood was seeping through Dinah's cupped hand. Ally and Camila stood at least two feet away from her as they brought her to the nurse.

As they passed the library, Camila peered in and saw Lauren sitting at one of the tables, alone. Ally noticed this, too.

"Go to her," Ally said. "I'll take Dinah,"

Camila bit her lip. "Ally, I can't,"

"Why not?" Ally challenged. "You've known her for four years. She considers you guys good friends. The only obstacle you have is you being in love with her, which isn't that bad of an obstacle considering how she treats you,"

"What do you mean by 'considering how she treats you?'"

Ally smirked. "Camila, anyone with eyes can tell that you're special to her." And with that, Dinah and Ally pushed the girl towards the library doors.

Lauren was startled when Camila sat down next to her. She took out her headphones.

"Hey," she said quietly.

"Why are you sitting alone? Where's Cat?" Camila asked. Lauren shrugged.

"I don't know. And everyone just thinks it's better to stare at me like I'm some zoo animal rather than come up here and talk to me," she sighed sadly.

"I'm sorry,"

"It's probably because of my representation in the media," Lauren thought out loud.

"Don't say that! You have a great representation,"

"I think they once used the words, 'Is outspoken but needs to learn when to shut up?'"

Camila pursed her lips. "That was just after one Instagram rant that you apologized for-"

"You think I'm approachable, right?"

"W-what?"

"Is no one talking to me because I'm unapproachable?" Lauren asked, eyes growing sad. She looked worried.

"No! That's not it at all! They, um, they're probably just intimidated by you,"

"Intimidated?" Lauren frowned.

"No, that's not the word," Camila bit her lip.

Lauren rested her head on her hand, waiting to hear what her friend had to say.

"I guess... they're so used to see this glammed up version of you at award shows and red carpets and stuff. I guess it's just odd that you're actually here. They're probably in a daze,"

"How come you're not,"

"Probably because I already know you and you know me," Camila said, meeting Lauren's eyes. She blushed. "I-I mean we're friends,"

Lauren smiled. She grabbed Camila's hand and laced their fingers together. "I'm glad we're friends. I don't know what I would do without you and Cat,"

"WALZ!"

Dinah's scream made the two jump. Camila and Lauren looked towards the door to see Dinah and Ally, the first having successfully stuffed two tampons up her nostrils to catch the blood.

"I- what?" Lauren asked. Camila sighed.

"I don't know," she let of of Lauren's hand. "I should get back to practice,"

Lauren nodded and grinned. "Thanks for sitting with me. It means a lot,"

__

There was a knock at Camila's door. Lauren stood in the doorway, textbook in hands.

"Hey," she said, pushing her hair back. She was wearing a loose t-shirt and boxer shorts. It was almost eleven. She was probably getting ready for bed.

"Hi," Camila pushed up her glasses, chastising herself for wearing pajama bottoms with bananas on them. "Are you looking for Cat?"

"No, you, actually," Lauren said. "Mind if I come in?"

"S-sure,"

Lauren lied down on Camila's bed, shoulder touching the other girl's. Camila felt her heart beating out of her chest. One of Lauren's legs was lying over Camila's. She smelled like strawberries. Camila thought she was dreaming.

"I don't get this," Lauren gestured at her calculus textbook. "Do you understand?"

"Honestly?"

"No, lie to me," Lauren joked, nudging Camila with her shoulder.

"I didn't understand," Camila admitted. Lauren jutted out her bottom lip.

"Aw, shoot. I guess we just have to figure this out together,"

Camila put her phone down and Lauren saw the open Instagram account. Camila didn't have a lot of followers, only about 127, Lauren being one of them.

"How come you keep your account on private?" Lauren asked, pushing her hair back. "I mean, nowadays most people are begging for more followers and likes,"

Camila shrugged. "Most of the people who would follow me would be Cat's fans, and there would just be countless comparisons. Like, I already see them doing it on Twitter and stuff. And since Cat has over ten million followers, Ally figured out that probably a large chunk would follow me and the harassment would never end. If I'm on private, only my real friends will follow me,"

Lauren nudged her and smiled. "Aw, I'm one of those real friends,"

Camila blushed. "I guess so,"

Andres ran into Camila's room. "I need gay advice- oh, hey, Lauren,"

He paused, thinking out loud. "Two gays, this advice will be good,"

Lauren chuckled. "What do you need?"

"Another one of my girl buds just came out and she's telling me about how much she loves our other friend who has an on and off girlfriend,"

"Does she want to go out with this other girl?" Camila asked.

"Majorly,"

"Is this girl and her girlfriend currently on or off?" Lauren asked.

"Off, I'm pretty sure. It changes like every week,"

"I think she should go for it," Lauren admitted. "I mean, on and off relationships are always confusing to me. From what I see, usually they're not the healthiest. Like, Justin and Selena. That was toxic for both of them. And now since they're broken up they're both in better places,"

"Huh," Andres said blankly. He pulled out his phone. "Do you mind telling her that for me?"

"Why can't you do it?"

"I think she would listen to you more. She idolizes you,"

Catalina walked out of the bathroom clad in a towel. When she noticed her brother in her room, she paused.

"What are you guys talking about?" she asked.

"On and off relationship," Camila said. Catalina's eyes widened.

"Why? What happened? Did he call me?" she asked, rushed. Andres and Camila looked at her weirdly. Lauren shook her head slowly. Catalina blushed.

"Are you okay, Cat?" Andres asked.

"Y-yeah. So, who's the douchebag who broke somebody's heart?"
