Jin- Doctor's Office (Best friends pt.3)
~few months later~
"Hey! "
I greeted a nicely looking young woman. She was wearing a flowy pink dress with little bow print on it, she looked like she was a gift herself or something.
I hugged woman and she happily hugged me back strongly squishing me in between her arms. I smiled thinking about what a wonderful strong mom her baby will have. I and JungKook's wife became really close over the year after their marriage. We were friends before, but I was too caught up in my feeling for JungKook that I forgot to pay more attention to this wonderful lady, that JungKook's wife was.
I gave her the present that I brought with me and she took it with the sweetest grin.
"Come on in."
I didn't need another invitation and walked in to the house. Blue and pink balloons tied up with beautifully made ribbons were all over the house, it made me grin and cringe at the same time. I knew that if it was my will I would have never chose those traditional colors. They were just too... used?
But I didn't want to lower anyone's excitement with my critics so I just fallowed my fellow friend in to the living room. She put my gift on top of all the other gifts and that made me feel satisfaction for a moment.
JungKook came from the kitchen and hugged his wife from behind. He could barely wrap his hands around her since her belly got so big. She turned around and kissed him on the forehead, it made me feel uncomfortable and I looked away.
I wasn't the only one awkwardly watching two love birds enjoying one another's company. Nam-joon was sitting on the couch with tea cup in his hands. He saw that was looking and smiled, I immediately went and set down next to him.
"They look so sweet together, don't they?"
I whispered to him, hoping not to break the cute moment this little family of two were having.
"They do."
He said and put his arm over my shoulder. The last few months since we met while biking was really strange, we started spending way more time with JungKook's family and... one another. But I couldn't call it a relationship, or friendship.
We were stuck in the middle of both of them. We felt comfortable with one another, but there was still something holding me back.
"Hey guys." JungKook interfered with our small talk, I got up and gave him a greeting hug. "Everyone else is in a garden, they are waiting for gender reveal, but to be honest..."
I saw how Nam-joon pulled closer to the edge of the couch, he was all bouncing form excitement, he probably though that we will be the first ones to find out the gender of the baby.
"We still don't know yet."
JungKook's wife finished with the biggest apologetic smile. I burst in to laughter, Nam-joon reaction was priceless. He literally fell of the sofa and I bet he hit his head on the table on the way down.
After few seconds I stopped laughing and took JungKook's hand into my palms. I looked at a happy couple very seriously, scanning their faces was one of the easiest jobs I ever had, probably because I knew them so well.
"I think I know where you're going with this."
"You do?"
Nam-joon asked me surprised. I could hear other guest cheering in the garden and I smiled mysteriously. I nodded for Nam-joon and when to JungKook's wife.
"I'll drive."
"Thank you." JungKook answered instead of letting his wife finish. He took off running and bouncing while doing so, soon he reached the door to the garden and flashed a smile to us both. "Come back as soon as possible, I will try to entertain the guests."
"No problem, captain."
I jokingly teased him. Nam-joon looked more confused than ever, me and mom to be giggled at him sharing a stare of partners in crime.
"What is going on? Why I don't know what is going on?!"
He yelled out of misery and even JungKook heard him that caused him to come back.
"Nam-Joon?"
'Huh?"
"Come with me. We need to keep the guest busy before they rip apart for holding the secret for so long!"
Nam-joon got up from the ground where he was lying and I could hear him curse under his breath as he walked past as. That scored him a smack on the back, after all he was basically cursing in front of the baby.
As we were finally left alone. I turned to my super excited friend and smiled from to ear like a total moron.
"If I'm guessing right... we're going to the doctors for the results?"
She nodded and hugged her belly. I couldn't help but notice her happiness. And how could I ever thought of taking it all away, for the sake of my own joy?
After a drive of ten minutes I was pulling my car in to the parking lot of the nearest hospital. JungKook's wife explained that she set up everything exactly like that so they would be able to get the result the day of the announcement, that way they wouldn't get any temptation of checking it out before the time comes and everyone could see their reaction.
We had a little fight in the car, since every guest was supposed to wear pink or blue clothes depending on the gender they though the baby was going to be. I wore all blue and she, with her pink dress, was absolutely in the opposite camp.
We walked in to the hospital, but there wasn't many people, so out turn to go in to the doctor's office came quickly. Since her family's doctor was the one with the result we went to him straight away. I was never in this hospital before since I lived in the different part of the city. I had no idea what to expect from the doctor,
But whatever I imagined was nothing like the reality. As we walked in to small, sterile office the first thing that caught my eyes were the doctor. He was obviously young, maybe five or four years older than me, but still young. His silky black hair fit nicely with his facial features and I couldn't stop smiling from the moment I saw him.
He lifted his hand and looked up from all the paper work, our eyes met for a second and I saw him blush.
"Miss-"
He started and JungKook's wife finished the sentence for him.
"Missis Jeon."
"I see." He smiled "So you will be the one that came for the results?"
She nodded, but when quickly pushed me in front with her thumbs up for encouragement, I glared at her confused, but she just nodded for me to go closer.
"My friend will take it, I want to be surprised."
He looked away from missis Jeon and started at me again, like seeing a human being for a first time. If he was blushing I could only imagine that I looked like a lobster.
"Of course, no problem."
He started searching for the card where the gender revel was supposed to be, but after few minutes of useless search he smacked his hand against the forehead and gasped.
"Is there something wrong?"
I managed to ask without fainting. It was the long time since I felt like a teenager girl developing a crush, yes I liked Nam-joon, but this doctor made me feel like a little girl, and I don't know why, but I liked it way better when feeling like an adult.
"Yes, it's seems that I forgot the results in the lab. I'll be right back." He assured JungKook's wife and looked back at me. "And miss, you can come with me if you want to, I don't mind showing around."
I nodded and tuned around to check with my friend if it was alright to leave her alone, even if just for a bit, she was completely fine with that and I happily flew out the office with young doctor next to me.
"Excuse me, doctor, but how did you know that I never been here?"
"Well it's quite obvious, since I never seen such beauty around here." He grinned and chuckled, I felt my heart skip. "And please call me Jin."
"Yes, doctor, I mean, Jin."
I corrected myself and quickly realized that he was probably waiting for me to introduce myself too, so I did and that only put a bigger smile on his face. He shook my hand and we walked down the hall where the lab was supposed to be.
We came back after couple of minutes and found missis Jeon sitting in the chair playing with her hair, it must have been boring to wait for us, but I was dying out of laughter, I couldn't count how many jokes Jin told me on the way back.
"Hey, listen." He grabbed me by my hand as we walked in to office and my friend to turned to us with a smile. "Maybe you would like to meet up some time? I always finish work around this hour."
"Yes, I would love to."
I answered with heart beating so fast that I was pretty sure he could feel it.
"I couldn't help, but hear..." JungKook's wife interfered our talk, I was glad she did it or else I might have gotten awkward very quick. "Doctor Kim, please tell me, are you finishing your work up by any chance at the moment?"
I could almost feel which direction she was leaning, but I didn't want to get too excited before I actually find out what is going on.
"Yes missis Jeon, I am in fact."
"Great, since I can see that you're getting along with my friend over there..." She pointed at me. "...very well..." She added. "Maybe you would like to be the one to announce the gender of the baby in our party today?"
She offered and I almost squeaked put of joy. Of course I wanted Jin to come, but her offer came out of the blue for him and he had to think about it for a second.
"Is there going to be cake?"
He asked only joking, but I nodded very seriously. He agreed immediately after I assured that there is going to be not only cake, but a lot more.
"Great, when it's settled."
My friend clapped and got up from the chair. Jin quickly excused himself and went to change from his job clothes. He came back few second after with nicely looking casual outfit, except it wasn't blue or pink, instead he was wearing all white.
"I just assumed since I already now the gender, it would be too obvious..."
All three of as left the hospital. I didn't want to admit immediately, but I enjoyed Jin's company very much.
As we pulled both of the cars, one belonged to me and the other one to Jin, since he drove all the away following my lead, a tall guy with a blonde hair cut and blue outfit came out to meet us. It was Nam-joon, he ran to me and hugged like we haven't seem each other in years. It was about an hours and a half after we left.
Jin helped JungKook's wife get out of the car and politely offered her his hand. She took it without hesitation and started walking towards the house.
Nam-joon's expression changed as he saw Jin coming this way, he coldly greeted him and we both walked few steps behind them.
"What is it?"
I couldn't not ask when the problem was so obvious.
"Just stay away from him, okay?'
He asked putting his hand on my waist protectively.
"I can't promise."
I whispered to myself and walked in to the house following Jin with my eyes. Was that butterflies in my stomach?
