Jimin - Geekily Ever After
You know that developing a crush is never good. But it's especially bad when that crush is on no other than Park Jimin. You know the cliché story of a geeky girl, who in this case would be me, and a school's bad boy, who breaks the rules and just don't care in general that would be Jimin? Well, let's turn it upside down. I was the princess of the school, a bad girl, a player. He was the geeky prince that had not so many friends, but he surely got my heart. All though, no one could know that, even him.
So as we were sitting in our Literature class and our teacher was trying to manage a group of wild animal-like students, I might say, it wasn't going too well for him, I heard some strange noise. Like someone whistled or mumbled addressing someone. I looked around uncrossing my arms, which I had been resting on my stomach for the whole class, opened my eyes, because, duh, I was sleeping, and blinked few times to clarify the vision.
Even after making sure that my eyes aren't playing games with me and I am surely not hallucinating, I still didn't want to believe what I saw. In the front corner of the class, where Jimin always sat, was a girl. She not only was there, she sat down next to the geeky prince like owning the place and smiled to him. My friend tapped me on the shoulder and whistled once more, she was the one that I heard before.
"Can you believe that nerd?"
I looked over at Jimin and my heart bounced. He was doing nothing to be this perfect, and still... he was. I shook my head and lifted my gaze to my friend, who, I was sure, would have never understood, or even tried to figure out, my crush on that dude. For her he was too geeky to even consider to be a human being.
"What about him?"
I whispered back at her and resisted the huge temptation that my body suddenly got to look over at him. If I had glanced once more it will no doubt became quite suspicious. My friend threw at me are-you-sick look and rolled her eyes.
"Who do you think she is? His sister or cousin?"
She asked me and I almost blurted out "his girlfriend". Oh stupid me, that would have been a mistake. Instead of making a fool of myself I giggled at the joke my friend made like it was the funniest thing ever and not the insult towards the men I liked and turned around closing my eyes again. I already wasted my precious beauty sleep time, whole talking to her.
As I turned around in my desk, and I knew I was going to see Park Jimin, because he was sitting in front of me, I heard how some noise as if something has been hit went off. Our teacher was standing furiously throwing glances at me and then back at the girl next to me Jimin. I couldn't understand what got in to that nice man, who always seemed to have more patient than the world ever need. I couldn't even understand why it was two of us that he was staring at. He had his hand on the sides and tapped with his fingers.
"I hope you're ladies are talking about literature." He pointed at me and my friend, I almost giggled, now that was funny, even after four years spent with me in the same class he still didn't get that I wasn't going to play by his rules. "And you two..."
Now he was looking at Jimin and the girl, my heart was barely beating at the time as I noticed that she had put her hand on to his palm and was slowly running up and down his finger lines.
"Yes, sir?"
Jimin politely replied to him confused. He didn't even seem to notice how the girl pouted at him and quickly glared at me.
"Park Jimin, I expected more from you."
Teacher said instead of answering to Jimin and sighted disappointed. Jimin looked like he was just slapped. Of course, top student, good boy... who would be surprised?
"I'm sorry sir?"
Jimin mumbled under his breath and looked over at the girl. Hus eyes popped as it looked like he just now noticed what was she doing and he quickly took his hand away before she could do anything else. I silently chuckled to myself satisfied, but apparently she heard it and her glance was killing me.
"If you don't want to learn..." Teacher stared off dramatically and I already knew it wasn't going to end well. "I'll have to give you some projects to do, you leave me no choice."
I sighted and leaned back in my chair. Here goes my rest.
"What kind of project?"
The girl next to Jimin bounced in her seat excited, I bet she was hoping it will be a group project, but even for me it was obvious that her voice was way too sweet towards the teacher. What a brat.
"You will have to make a poster for your favorite piece of drama, in groups."
Teacher nodded at the class and his eyes stopped at me. Oh dear...
"You." He pointed at me with a ruler. "You" He swept the end of the ruler to Jimin. "You'll be working in the group."
Okay, I'm liking this, go teacher! It's isn't as bad as I thought it will be...
"Can I join them?"
The girl in front asked raising her hand. Dream on....
"I think it will be for the best if you miss, will stay out of this, why won't you pair up with Mister Kim over there?"
Teacher gave the girl the-look and showed her way to Kim Seok-Jin's table. The girl frowned at our teacher and made her way to him. Jin nicely greeted her, but she didn't even look at him. I took my thing, threw one last glace at my friend and sat down next to Jimin.
"Hey."
He said and I just nodded. I was acting just like that girl, but not because I hated Jimin, oh no, not at all, it's because I was too nervous to say a thing. Great. This is already awesome. How are we going to do our project if I can't talk? Don't ask me.
"Listen, why don't I just let you do all the work and you let me rest. Deal?"
I finally replied to him staring at me none stop. That glaring was annoying the crap out of me, but I was no less nervous when saying that to him. Teacher was still paring up the rest of the class, while Jimin just looked at me blankly. I sighted and put my earphones in. I pressed the button and turned on the music closing my eyes.
After few second I felt how my music suddenly disappeared and I opened my eyes, Jimin was standing right in front of me with my earphones in his hands, he smiled at me and put them away. I frowned and tried to take them back, but he dodged my hand.
"I don't think so."
He said and was honestly impressed. Who does he think he is?
"Give it back, nerd."
I hissed and wanted to slap myself. Do you really act lieke that with a guy you like? Well that's what I did.
"Nerd you say?"
"Geek, nerd, whatever."
I sighted at him and scolded myself in my mind. Really nice, really.
"Geek?' He seemed way more surprised by this than when I said nerd. "You're the one wearing Harry Potter shirt."
I looked down and face palmed myself.
"So?"
"I like Harry Potter."
He said shrugging his shoulders and sat back down giving me my earphones, I took them and was about to put them in, but something in my mind clicked and I threw them in my backpack. Jimin seemed surprised.
"Okay, you're right, we both have to do this."
He smiled like the kid in Disneyland, who just met his favorite character.
"What drama should we choose?"
How am I supposed to know? I thought to myself, none names came to mind.
"Is Harry Potter under consideration?"
He looked at me waiting to say that I was only joking, but after few minutes of silence staring in to each other eyes, I could tell that he was disappointed.
"I like your thinking."
He blurted out suddenly and I blushed, something that I haven't done in a long time. Maybe I interpreted his expression in the wrong way?
"Thanks?"
"You're welcome. When should we start?"
"Now?"
I looked around, but no one else seemed to be working or functioning in general.
"Want to come over at my place and get it over with?"
Jimin nicely suggested and my heart flattered. Do I? Hell yeah I do, but instead of screaming that in to his face and hugging him along the way I just shyly nodded and packed my things.
"See you later."
I said leaving the class, because the bell ringed.
"Should I find you later?"
He questioned and that thought popped in to my mind. That's right, he had none of my contacts.
"Here." I said handing a paper piece with my number on it. "But it's only for this project"
I warned him in my cold voice. I wanted to tell him that he can use that number whenever he wants and I would be more than happy if he did, but I had to keep my image.
"Don't worry, I'm a professional."
He grinned and turned around with a number in his hand. I couldn't see his expression, but some feel tingled.
"Omg, that nerd totally has a crush on you."
My friend whispered in to my ear giving a suspicious look towards Jimin. I glared at her and shook my head.
"Why would you say such nonsense?"
"He just saved your number under the prettiest geek on earth, I'm pretty sure he didn't wrote that unintentionally."
My jaw dropped, but I just grabbed he hand and dragged her pout of classroom.
"Are you serious?"
She nodded and now was glancing at me just as suspiciously.
"Why do you care...?"
Oh my, my image!
"Nothing... just, strange?"
I tried to escape her detective power, but it was too late, she lightly punched me on the shoulder and giggled.
"You like him!"
She yelled and I was pretty sure that whole hallway hear her. I covered her mouth and looked around. Everyone was staring. I pulled her closer and hissed.
"Did you have to?"
She nodded and sweetly grinned.
"Hey, we're your friends, we're gonna support you!"
I backed up surprised. I did not expect such an easy reaction.
"What... what?"
I mumbled and it seemed like I got a lisp.
"Go get him girl."
She cheered me patting on the back and ran away probably to tell all of our friends.
"I'm gonna do just that!"
I said to myself happily and burst back in to the class. He was the only one left there and I just came up to Jimin, patted him on the shoulder and as he turned around I kissed him.
"What...?" He mumbled as I backed up and turned around to get the hell out of here. He grabbed me and pulled me back. "Where do you think you're going?"
He whispered and kissed me back. This is my geek-ily ever after. And it's just a beginning.
