Chapter 4: Road to Recovery
The healing process was slow for Poldara, since he wasn't an entity or an official country he didn't heal as fast as his dads or uncle, it was more similar to the healing rate of a normal human. His time in the hospital wasn't too terrible, he was visited often by his family and a few close buddies from cadet training, even the soldier he saved came to see him, so he was never alone for too long.
Like MA said, he had become "the talk of the town" after the accident, there wasn't a person in Mandara that didn't know about it and about what happened to Poldara, so when word got out that he finally woke up from his coma, the hospital was flooded with get-well-soon gifts for the young country from people all over the nation. Poldara was quite astonished that so many supported him when he didn't even do anything to earn it, he ultimately figured it was because he was Mandara's son so he felt it was more people pitying him than being sincere.
When he had regained enough strength, the nurses would bring him outside to the hospital park to get some much-needed sunlight and fresh air. He was still temporarily paralyzed and wasn't expected to regain feeling in his lower body for another two months, but that didn't stop him from enjoying the park, it actually helped him learn to maneuver his wheelchair faster. Whenever he was in the park, he would usually have at least two or three kids hanging around with him, they loved his wings and were just fascinated with how different he was. Poldara didn't mind, he liked kids and would tell them jokes and stories when they came.
Well, unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to end things here. I just don't have the motivation or interest to continue this, I am truly sorry that I let you all down, but I won't leave you hanging.
The plot was that Poldara was going to go through depression because he was physically incapable of becoming a militant, the one thing he wanted to be his whole life. He develops a drinking problem and starts getting violent towards everyone, even his parents and MA. With few options left, MA asks the soldier Poldara saved for help, the soldier, named Mackenzie, agrees and starts hanging out with Poldara to help him. As the years go on, Poldara slowly gets better and is no longer depressed, he eventually becomes Mandara's special entity and he and Mackenzie actually get together too.
Then the story ends decades later with Poldara walking through a graveyard with his service dog, he kneels by a grave that says it belongs to Mackenzie, who died of old age, he sets a red rose on the grave and says, "thank you for saving me," as an ironic thing because she would have died a lot sooner if he didn't run into the hanger.
Once again, I am so sorry for discontinuing this story, I just have other things I want to do instead (an ask the characters being one) and this is just not one of them, but thank you for sticking with me to the end, goodbye for now readers.
