"Lego Death Stars are a joke."

Midtown High, October 2016-

Alison's bike glided through the city morning streets, cars already gliding along the streets in the morning rush. Cars were honking at Alison, who was gliding at a steady pace in the streets.

She was halfway to her high school, crossing the busy downtown New York streets following the subway route that had a stop at Midtown.

New Yorkers, in their foul mouths and dirty minds, began to swear at Alison, who was swerving through the lanes. Alison laughed with glee, not caring about if she got cussed out by other New Yorkers.

Her ears were being drowned in the sound of her favorite music, and she was cruising down the road in good time.

Alison smiled, and kept pedaling along. Maybe if this was what the rest of the year would be like, it wouldn't be too bad.

By the time Alison got to school, some sports team was already warming up on the football field. Kids were walking past who got off the subway, and some others were driving in.

As Alison pedaled up to the bike rack, she could hear someone shout the glorious words, "Sup, Penis Parkerrrr!" The person driving away, Alison wasn't sure of who had made the call.

Walking into the high school, the announcements from Betty Brant and Jason were playing for the day. "Rise and shine Midtown Science and Technology," Betty said blandly over the announcements.

"Students don't forget about your homecoming tickets, do you have a date for Homecoming?" Jason said awkwardly on the TV.

Alison blocked out the rest of the announcements, shoving her way through the school's halls. She scaled the stairs she had to climb to get to her locker. A drone flew overhead, and other students walked past.

Behind her, to Alison's luck, was Peter Parker. She hadn't really talked to the guy since she ditched him two months ago at the tour. He had tried to talk to her, but Ali blatantly ignored him.

Alison pulled up to her locker, which was a few spaces after Parker's. This part of her daily routine she hated, as if she made eye contact with Peter, she had to wave or talk to him.

Ali quickly unlocked her locker, and threw in her backpack. She pulled out her binder and books for her first class.

As she was leaving, Ned pulled up to Peter's locker. Alison, curious as to what Ned was doing there, leaned up against her locker door. It was funny, and almost cute how the dorks acted around each other .

"Join me," Ned put a lego Star Wars figure on top of Peter's shoulder. "And together, we'll build my new Lego Death Star," He smiled.

Peter turned around with shock, and his eyes widened to the size of saucers. "What?" He faces Ned, who had the same expression.

Peter looked at the cheerleaders behind him, one muttering, "So lame."

"No way, that's awesome!" Peter pressed on, ignoring the cheerleader's comment. "How many pieces?"

"3, 803," Ned replied proudly, staring at Peter with a glint in his eyes.

"That's insane!" Peter exclaimed, turning back to his locker and grabbing his notebook and backpack from inside.

"I know right?" Ned shared the same excitement, continuing his conversation. "You wanna- build it tonight?"

"No I can't tonight," Peter sighed, shutting his locker door. "I got the Stark Internship."

"Mmhm," Ned looked disappointed, as if this had happened before. "The Stark Internship. Always got that internship." He added in quickly.

Peter scratched his ear nervously. "Yeah well, hopefully it'll lead to a real job with him soon."

Ned nodded, "That would be so sweet," The two boys began to walk down the halls, leaving Alison behind.

Alison laughed, watching the two of them try to smoothly walk through the halls. "Build my Lego Death Star," She mocked, standing up off of her locker.

"Parker trouble again?" Someone asked, tapping on Alison's shoulder from behind.

Alison whirled around, and saw Jess Cabelo standing there. "Oh my god! Jess! You're back!" She exclaimed, giving the girl an awkward hug.

"Yep," Jess smiled, giving Alison a small hug back. "I can't believe you missed me THAT much. I was only sick for three days."

"Three days is a lot, ok?" Alison joked seriously, beginning to walk down the halls with Jess. "It felt like forever."

"Well," Jess wrapped her arm around Alison. "Now you're stuck here with me for a while."

"And thank god for that!" Alison laughed, walking off with Jess.

"Yeah," Jess snorted. "Thank god for that. Now let's get to class."

"Alright, so how do we calculate the linear acceleration between points A and B?" Alison's teacher asked, holding a ruler in her hand.

Alison was tapping her pencil impatiently, knowing the answer but not bothering to raise her hand and look like a geek.

Flash's hand rose up, his face staring down at his notebook. "Flash," The teacher called on him.

"It's the product of time of the angle and gravity divided by the mass." Flash looked up, searching for a clue he was right from the teacher.

"Nope," The teacher shook her head at Flash. "Peter," She stared bullets down at the boy, who was looking intently at his computer.

Peter looked up with a jolt. "You're still with us?" The teacher asked.

"Uh..... uh yeah yeah yeah," Peter looked down at the video he was watching, which was of the Spider-Man catching a car before a bus.

Alison, who was sitting right behind him, tried to look at the video, craning her neck. But, the boy shut the computer screen before she could get a good look at it.

"Uh." Peter looked up at the board. "Mass cancels out," He gestured at the board. "So it's just gravity times sine."

"Right." The teacher's mouth pulled into a firm expression. "See Flash, being the fastest isn't always the best if you are wrong." The students in the class laughed at Flash, Alison joining in along with them.

"You're dead," Flash whispered to Peter. Flash looked as if he was staring daggers into Peter's soul.

Alison looked back at the clock, and then, the next thing she knew, it was time for chemistry. Wearing her safety googles, her attention turned to her teacher.

"Today, were going to be talking about the Danish physicist Niels Bohr but trust me there's nothing BOHR-ing about his discovery regarding quantum theory." The teacher began off with a bad pun.

Alison winced, trying not to internally cringe at the horrible pun the teacher had made as an attempt to be cool with the kids.

A few rows up, Peter was making something in the bottom of his desk. Alison saw him leaning down at his drawer, probably making something. She didn't want to see whatever that dorky boy was making, so she settled back into her seat and listened to the teacher.

The teacher began to walk around the class, and Peter quickly shut his drawer, peaking Alison's attention. Maybe she should have paid attention to what Peter was doing.

The time flew in that boring class, Alison almost burning herself twice with chemicals. By the time Alison had recovered from her klutziness, the lunch bell rang.

Midtown, unfortunately, didn't have tater tots like Carter did. That was checked up into the categories of why Midtown High School sucked.

But, it did have a pretty decent Homecoming theme, and some pretty good food. Well, it was better than Carter's.

Alison got her food, and walked towards Jess, who had saved her a table with her other friends, Tara and Drew. "Hey," Alison smiled. "Where's the rest of the gang?"

"Oh, you know. Around. That sick bug's been going around. I'm pretty that Skylar and Iris are sick at home with it." Tara nodded.

"That blows." Jess rolled her eyes. "I just got over being sick. I can't get sick again."

"None of us can," Alison wedged into a seat between Drew and Jess."The last time I got sick, I was 7! Can't break that record." Alison said boldly.

Jess groaned at the girl. "Oh my god, you and your lucky immune system. I swear to god, one day I'm gonna just give you all my sick germs!" She made a weird germ-like gesture.

"Eewww!" Drew exclaimed. "TMI Jess. Change the subject Ali, and quick please." She begged.

"Ok then, tell me." Alison gave a mischievous look, leaning in to look at the girls. "What are your homecoming plans?

The girls looked skeptical. "Um... none?" Drew gave Alison a weird stare. "Why would we even go to Homecoming?"

"Because... it's fun?" Alison stared at Drew like it was crazy. "We should go this year! I mean, we don't need dates. We could go as a big posse." She gestured to the group.

"Sounds good to me." Jess placed her hand on Alison's shoulder. "And me!" Tara singsonged, putting her hand on top of Alison's. The girls looked over at Drew.

"Oh fine," Drew smiled, nudging Alison. "I'm in." Alison cheered, the others joining in. "Ladies- we are going to Homecoming!"
