In Philip's last few moments, imagine him still desperately clinging on for life, not wanting to die in front of his parents like that. And the whole time, he's looking at a corner in the room where ghost Laurens is standing. Laurens walks over and rubs Philip's head, telling him it's okay and stuff. At this, Philip nods his head a bit, and Laurens hugs him tightly, kissing the top of his head, and then Philip just peacefully fades.
