So we'll see how well this goes...
But I had this idea a while ago and it originally started out as a threesome/gangbang rapey thing, but I'm not 100% comfortable writing things like that, and the idea changed, so no threesome
Sorry to anyone who wanted a threesome
There will still be smut, though

Shouto yawned and stretched, tail curling up behind his back, front paws splayed across his den floor, chest touching the ground and hindquarters in the air. He then shifted forward, hope lowering, back arched and head tilted as he felt the stretch all the way down his legs. He shook the rest of his slumber away and smacked his lips a few times, sauntering towards the entrance of his den.

He lifted a the pelt blocked the entrance and stepped outside into the fresh layer of snow. His ears flicked, nose twitching.

Not a sound and not a scent. Snow just fell, so the other animals must be still hidden away.

Peace and quiet. He'll long for winter once again when spring comes around. All the chirping, singing, everyone eager for a mate or teaching their little ones how to live.

Shouto didn't particularly care for the noise. However, it was better than the pack he had lived with. Better than his sire.

Better than that trainer.

He scoffed and shook again, don't need to be thinking of those things so early.

The wolf-Hybrid continued through the snow, paws sinking into it. Not too deep. Just enough to quiet everything.

One chirp in the trees above, wings flittering. Little cardinal hopping from branch-to-branch. Shouto watched amused with the little creature. He rolled his shoulders and sighed. A bird was much too small to eat on a snowy day.

He trotted forward, ears perked as he listened for any early morning prey.

Ahh, yes, his favorite clearing. Small with a little stream on the other side. The summer afternoons were best to lay in the soft grass and sunbathe, sunrays warming up his multi-colored coat.

His ears twitched at the snapping twig nearby. He crouched, focusing on the other side of the stream.

A deer hybrid - big and broad. Perfect meal to last Shoto a few days, possibly.

He stalked near the other Hybrid, keeping low to the ground.

The deer sniffed through the snow amd approached the babbling stream.

Both Hybrids stiffened at the sound of squeals and pounding paws. A blur of green darted from the trees, startling the deer and causing him to bilt back into the trees he came from. The green scrambled in the snow, slipping in his panic before finally managing to find solace beneath a dying bush coated in a good layer of white.

Shouto blinked slowly, still crouched low. He lifted his head and opened his jaw, inhaling deeply.

Heavy distress and heat pheromones were permeating the still air of the clearing.

Distressed Omega in heat is never a good thing. Especially one that is likely no where near their den.

Though, it is strange that they'd be in heat at this time. Heat season should be long over. Or hasn't even started yet.

Shouto slowly approached, keeping his own scent dulled as to not distress the whimpering Omega anymore.

As he neared he caught the Omega's underlying pine and fruity scent. He could see their curly green coat, thick for the winter and flattened long ears. His eyes met theirs, big watery and green. Such a green little thing. A rabbit hybrid. A male one, too.

Shouto looked in the direction he had come from and sighed. He came from the Mountain Lion Hybrid's territory. That prick must have tried hunting him and chased him from his den during his heat. Easy prey.

He clenched his jaw at the thought. It was cowardly to hunt an Omega in heat, when they are at their most vulnerable. They are barely coherent enough to fight back. Though, he shouldn't be surprised the angry prime on the other side of the clearing would stoop so low. Shouto doesn't know much about him other than he's prideful with enough fiery anger to power the sun. He remembers how strong the Mountain Lion is as well, having fought him several seasons ago for this very clearing- the other Hybrid tried claiming it as his territory.

Shouto lowered back down, peering under the bush.

The rabbit Hybrid scuffled back, flinching as the tree behind the bush kept him from escaping further. The scent of his heat was intense, but Shouto was good at controlling his instincts.

Good is an understatement. He had it beaten and ingrained into his bones to ignore the scent of an Omega's heat, so it couldn't be used against him in a fight. His trainer had used cruel methods, but each lesson stuck.

He just needed to know how to comfort the little Hybrid. He needed to get him to safety.

Shouto kept himself low, releasing comforting pheromones.

The rabbit turned away, covering his nose with a whine.

He's worried Shouto will lure him out to eat him.

Shouto huffed, tail thumping in the snow behind him. It's so difficult convincing Omegas - especially prey Omegas - that he won't hurt them.

He looked up, Omega squeaking and curling up tighter as the bellowing roar of the Mountain Lion echoed over the trees. Birds squawked and flew overhead, away from the thunderous sound.

The Lion must be searching for the Omega. He had gotten close, Shouto can faintly smell the ash and sugar beneath the rabbit's heat.

Once again, the Wolf crouched down to the bush and began to crawl underneath.

The rabbit gasped, twisting and throwing his arms out, trying to find escape.

Shouto wriggled, grunting and wincing as the sharp branches caught in his thick coat. Once under the dead bush with the frightened rabbit, Shouto wrapped his arms around the rabbit's slim middle - must not have had a filling meal in a while - and curled his body around the much smaller frame.

The rabbit squirmed and squealed, heart pounding so rapidly, Shouto could nearly hear it. His nose twitched so quickly, the wolf feared it may fall off. He held tighter, strengthening his scent. He just needs to calm him. Needs to get him to soften his scent so the Lion won't be able to track him once he's moved.

It was very slow-going, but the Omega began to ease, struggling less. He was turned into Shouto's chest and began to search for the wolf's scent gland.

Shouto sighed in relief, letting his scent cover over the Omega's as the heady pine and fruit began to die down with the distress. Finally.

He closed his eyes, tail flicking on top of the snow, hind-end still sticking out from under the bush, being too big for the both of them to fit under. Thankfully, though, it seemed he wouldn't be cramped under much longer.

Several more minutes passed and the rabbit was finally completely lax in his arms.

Shouto lowered his head and gently nudged him. Big green eyes looked up to him, cautious, but less frightened. Shouto nodded towards the clearing.

The rabbit looked back, ears flicking. With a nod of confirmation, Shouto urged the green rabbit out first and followed. On all fours, as usual, Shouto sauntered back into the clearing with the rabbit hesitantly hopping along. Cute little hops with little nose twitches and tall, raised ears flicking each direction there was even the smallest noise.

He looked forward, following his tracks in the snow. It didn't take long for the rabbit to realize where he was being lead. He came to a halt.

Shouto looked back to him, tail lifted to usher the rabbit forward, but the smaller didn't budge.

The Wolf inhaled deeply. He sat down, slumped forward as he let the rabbit study him. Calculating eyes raked him up and down, trying to take him apart piece by piece.

Another roar startled the rabbit, had him scrambling forward several strides - half of which he slipped. His chest rose and fell rapidly, eyes big and ears flat once again.

Shouto stood on all fours again, nudging the rabbit forward again, this time pressing his head into the Omega's side. The rabbit had less hesitance. He followed the wolf to his den, swallowing hard as the pelt covering tge entrance was lifted for him. He hopped in slowly, low to the ground and looking everywhere.

The Wolf stalked to the back of his den, pelt falling in front of the entrance. The rabbit squeaked and jumped, startled by the loss of light. Shouto ushered the rabbit forward and pulled apart the rock dome he had built over his storage. Most of it was practically kindling - dying leaves, little twigs, wilted autumn flowers - but maybe the rabbit can snack on these until Shouto can find him better food.

The rabbit looked up to him, tail twitching and eyes wide in surprise.

Shouto grunted and turned away. He dug through his pelt bedding and pulled out the straw and twigs beneath that added the cushion. He carried the bedding - rabbit watching as he nibbled on a twig - and began setting up a second bedding space for his guest. Rabbits don't sleep on pelts.

He didn't particularly care for how sparse and bare and small the little nest appeared, but it was all he could do on short notice.

The rabbit chirped as he approached, sniffing the nest once Shouto backed away. He adjusted it a little more, then circled the middle before laying down.

Shouto hummed in relief, glad the heat-stricken rabbit can finally relax, and exited his den. He let the pelt fall over the entrance, separating them, then lay in the snow. He stretched his arms out, then sighed and relaxed, closing his eyes.

~

Shouto startled awake late in the day, sun hovering above the horizon. His ears twitched as he looked around, then he looked back to his closed den. The Rabbit's heat scent was strong once again, seeping through the pelt. His nose twitched, tail flicking, salivating at the lovely scent. It was harder to ignore without the scent of distress souring the pine and fruit.

He stood and shook his body, starting at his shoulders and ending with his tail. He sauntered through the trees, digging into the snow occasionally to try to find food for his guest.

Shouto sighed, looking back to his den. If he could somehow miraculously find the Omega's den, he might be able to bring back a portion of his nest as well as any food he had stored for himself. He shouldn't trespass on the Mountain Lion's territory though.

The wolf scrounged up what he could and carried it back. The sun had dipped halfway below the horizon when he returned. He lifted the pelt, sniffing the air. Heat was still strong, but the wave had died down. He chuffed to alert the Rabbig of his presence.

The Omega lifted his head, eyes lidded and lips parted as he panted softly. His cheeks, nose and chest were flushed red, body still recovering from the surge of desire.

Shouto approached slowly, keeping his head low, then lay what he had managed to find beside the nest. Curious, the rabbit raised himself more and sniffed the offering. He chirped as he looked up to the Alpha.

The Wolf shook the snow out of his pelt as he sat back.

The Rabbit smiled tentatively.

Shouto nodded, turning to his nest. He grabbed one of the pelts from his bedding and dragged it outside with him. After tossing the pelt on the snow, he lay on top of the pelt.

He lay quietly, lamenting over how he hadn't eaten yet. He should have snagged that cardinal while he had the chance. It was small, but it was something, at least. This is fine, though. The Rabbit needs protecting, just for a few days. He's gone longer without food. It'll just be a little harder to push back his instincts during the big waves of heat.

Shouto looked back as the pelt rustled and the Rabbit took little hops over and sat beside him. Shouto's brow raised down to the Rabbit.

The smaller's nose twitched, ears perked towards the Wolf. He sat back on his haunches, front paws held to his chest.

The Wolf shifted over, making more room on the pelt.

The Rabbit sniffed the pelt warily, but all he would be able to smell is the Wolf. The scent of the animal it had been previously was long gone. The Rabbit touched the pelt, feeling it before hopping on. He looked back up to the Wolf's heterochromatic eyes, head tilted. Shouto just watched, ear twitching slightly. Hesitating for just a moment, the Rabbit then leaned into the Wolf's side before sinking down onto the pelt, curling up and closing his eyes.

So the Rabbit preferred not to be alone. A little more challenging and more out of Shouto's comfort zone, but it wasn't a bad feeling. It was strange, having another body pressed against his. He never even slept near his littermates. Physical, affectionate touch is not something the Wolf is used to, but he's not adverse to it.

He raised his tail to curl around the Omega, then looked to the darkening sky.

~

The next time Shouto woke was to a squirming rabbit, whimpering and reeking of heat. The Wolf twitched and shook, nudging the Omega to wake him.

Once awake and alert enough, Shouto ushered the Rabbit to his paws and guided him back inside his den, where his scent would br contained. The poor thing wobbled as he stepped instead of hopped. He flopped into his little make-shift nest, panting and whimpering.

Shouto backed out, draping the pelt he used as a bed as a second cover over the entrance of his den. The Omega's scent is strong. Going to take more than some pelts to smother the scent. So, Shouto heavily scented the top layer and the surrounding area until he was satisfied.

When he looked up to the sky, it was milky and pale, brightening and hiding away the stars, but the sun still had yet to peek above the trees.

He should hunt before he gets too hungry.

~

Shouto licked his lips, the aftertaste of purebred squirrel still between his teeth as he carried some of its stored food he found shortly after having eaten it. Sure, it likely wasn't enough for a Hybrid Rabbit, but better than nothing... He just hopes the Rabbit will actually eat it. He hopes he's not being rude by assuming that Rabbits and Squirrels have the same diets, or at least very similar.

Maybe he should try to find the Rabbit's den before the scent is too faded? Not only would Shouto know what food to get him, he could bring back his own nesting materials to aid the Omega through his heat. Being without his nest must be incredibly stressful.

Again, Shouto chuffed as he entered his den to alert the Rabbit to his presence. The heat scent died down, thankfully. The Rabbit shifted before sitting up in his nest. He appeared more groggy with sleep - pelt disheveled, eyes lidded and lips parted - than disoriented by heat.

Shouto set down the food he had gathered and the Omega smiled up at him. He then stepped forward and stretched up, rubbing his freckled cheek against Shouto's neck.

The Wolf froze, entire body going rigid instantly. The Rabbit took no notice and started sifting through the food brought to him.

His mouth ran dry, eyes wide as he watched the Rabbit so at ease as he nibbled happily.

Slowly, Shouto sat down, keeping the Rabbit company.

~

Shouto has decided to call the Rabbit Midori. Can't just keep calling him "Rabbit" or "Omega." That's rude.

Midori hopped happily ahead in the snow, having accompanied Shouto on his walk. He chirped and honk giddily, tossing snow and sprinting around in it, at one point crashing into Shouto's hind legs. At first, Midori was startled and cowered back, ears flat and nose twitching, but the Wolf was only amused.

Instead of reacting the way Midori seemed to be expecting, Shouto swiped his tail over the mess of green atop his head and continued forward.

The Rabbit squealed happily and continued his play. Shouto wondered just how energetic and playful this Rabbit was outside his heat.

Though Midori was loud, Shouto found himself not minding the noise. It was different from the everyday. Sweet and cheerful. Playful and happy. With him so close by. He's a wolf. Prey wouldn't ever normally act like this anywhere nearby if they knew he was there.

Shouto traveled down the mountain with Midori bouncing circles around him. The snow began to thin the further down they went and there was more forage. Midori noticed and sniffed along the ground, chirping softly. He gathered what he could find - nesting materials and food alike.

The Wolf watched closely, trying to figure out which was which. Trying to memorize what the Rabbit liked. He'd been pretty close with his guesswork.

Once Midori's scent began to strengthen again, Shouto lead him back to his den quickly and helped him carry his abundant gatherings. They got to the den and the Rabbit got to work and adding to his nest and setting aside a spot for his food. Shouto left, grabbing another pelt for himself to lay on in the snow.

That morning's squirrel filled him enough he lay comfortably in the winter sun, eyes closed. His scent surrounding his den dulled Midori's scent, so the heat didn't bother him.

Later, once the wave was over, Midori joined him again. He nestled into Shouto's side, little tail flicking and foot twitching as he relaxed.

The Wolf found himself smiling at the Rabbit, content to have him by his side.

Sure, he's only just met the Omega the day before, but as the thought of parting with the Rabbit once his heat ends, Shouto felt cold seeping beneath his pelt. He swallowed and looked down to the snow.

This couldn't be good. No, Shouto swore he'd never tie someone to him. Wolves mate for life, and if he's choosing this Rabbit...

He looked back to Midori.

The Omega was already fast asleep, body pressed into Shouto's. He dreamt peacefully, ear and foot twitching occationally.

Do Rabbit's also mate for life? Shouto has never observed them long enough to find out. Is Izuku also choosing him by placing so much trust in him during his most vulnerable time? Or is it because his status as an Alpha that he's choosing to stay so near? He's not sure how to find out. He wished he could understand Midori and that the Rabbit could understand him.

For now, though, Shouto will push aside these arising feelings, just as he always had before. Just focus on the fact that he will be leaving once his heat ends.

~

Just before the sun had begun to set, another heavy wave of heat hit Midori. Shouto guided him back into the den, sort of taken off guard. The Omega had just been bounding around, playing in the snow. For his heat to suddenly surge like it did had Shouto concerned - until he caught wiff of what triggered it.

Alpha in rut.

Shouto bit back a growl and nudged Midori faster into the den. He patted the pelts down and scented them heavily, smothering the Omega's scent.

The grunting of the unwelcome Alpha neared, his heavy pawsteps crunching the snow beneath them. Shouto growled out in warning, crouching in front of his den.

The opposing Alpha halted at the sound, Shouto finally spotting his silhouette in the trees. Too big to be the Mountain Lion. Too broad and smells too much like fish.

A bear Hybrid, Shouto realized as it came into the light, drooling and huffing, growling back at the wolf. He'd been in a fight recently, looks like with the Mountain Lion. Deep claw wounds down his shoulders, ear torn and favoring his right front paw. He growled at Shouto, hackles rising.

Shouto snarled back, fur rising in threat. This hybrid is trespassing and Shouto now has an Omega to protect.

A little whimper came from behind Shouto the scent of the Omega's heat seeping through Shouto's catching him off guard. He turned, eyes wide as he saw Midori peering out of the den. His heart lurched and he barked in warning to the Omega, yelping as the Bear barreled into him as he was distracted.

Midori shrieked, scrambling back into the den as the bear reached for the pelts.

Shouto howled and leapt at the bear, tackling him to the ground. He snarled and bit his arm as the larger hybrid thrashed. The Bear bellowed and yanked his arm back, jerking Shouto off balance. The Bear hoisted himself up to kick Shouto's belly with his hind legs.

The Wolf gasped, crashing back into the snow. He wheezed, breath knocked from his lungs.

The Bear huffed, shaking as he stood. He growled again, sauntering towards Shouto. The smaller snapped his jaws, swipping at the bears face. He was practically unfazed - if anything, more irritated. The Bear roared and pounced on Shouto, the Wolf yelping as he's pinned down.

Shouto thrashed, barking and snapping his teeth. The Bear's grip did not relent.

Both Alpha's were startled by the Omega's chirp. Shouto looked over with wide eyes, Midori standing outside the den, eyes bigger than the moon, body trembling in fear and the sweet scent of his heat rolling off of him in thick waves.

The Bear snarled and pushed off the Wolf, charging to the Rabbit.

Midori was frozen to his spot, shrinking back.

Shouto scrambled to his paws and bolted. He pounced on the Bear's back, teeth sinking into his shoulder and clawing at his hide. The Bear growled, standing on his hindlegs as he reached back, trying to grab onto the Wolf to get him off.

He yelped as the Bear finally got hold of him amd threw him back to the ground. Instead of giving himself a moment to recover, Shouto launched back upwards, knocking the Bear back as he bit down on his exposed throat.

The larger Alpha thrashed, snarl gargled with blood as it filled his mouth. Shouto bit harder, growling deeply. He didn't let go until the Bear no longer moved.

Shouto panted softly, releasing the Bear and stumbling off the lifeless body.

He's covered in blood. He can feel it clinging to his coat. It'll be a pain to wash out, especially since it's so cold.

Shouto jumped as he felt something small and warm press into him. He looked down to Midori, the heat-laden rabbit trying to comfort him.

The Wolf sighed and lowered his head. He closed his eyes, relaxing as the Rabbit rubbed their cheeks together, gently scenting him. Shouto stayed there for a little while longer, waiting until his heartbeat settled before ushering Midori back to his den.

Once the Rabbit was back in the makeshift nest, Shouto sauntered over to the Bear, grabbing his scruff and began dragging him away.

Shouto managed to drag him all the way to the border shared by him and the Mountain Lion, keeping the body beneath the trees. He figured the Lion would like to know the Bear he fought and threatened their territories is gone. No longer a threat. He didn't hesitate to step into the icy water to get as much blood out of his coat as possible. He got out quickly and shook, waterdroplets flying off of him.

He trotted back to his den, eager to use his pelts to dry off and warm up, but halted as he noticed the one he had pulled out to lay on was missing. Shouto looked around, but the dragmarks clearly lead back into his den.

Why would the Rabbit bring the pelt back inside?

Shouto slowly lifted the two pelts blocking the entrance and blinked a few times to adjust to the darkness of his den. He chuffed to the Omega inside.

Midori shifted inside his nest, which not only consisted of the things they gathered that morning, but also some of Shouto's pelts. Midori crooned, calling to the Alpha.

He's inviting Shouto in. More than inviting. He accepted Shouto's scent, his things. He scented the den while the Wolf was gone. He's wanting Shouto's home to be his as well.

Shouto swallowed hard, claws digging into the dirt floor. In his gut, very deeply, he wanted so terribly to pounce on the little Omega. Claim him, but there were so many things that made this wrong.

Midori is a prey animal. While Hybrids breeding with different species of Hybrids isn't unheard of, prey and predator Hybrid mates are. Second, Midori has been in heat since they met the day before. This could just be his desires to be satisfied by an Alpha.

Yet, that couldn't be true. If it was, Midori would have invited him at the beginning - or at least when he began to trust him. He also wouldn't have taken the time to incorporate Shouto's things into his nest or carefully scent the den.

He truly wanted Shouto. And that baffled the wolf.

Midori chirped softly, ear flicking and foot thumping, stretching his arms out towards the Wolf. He smiled reassuringly, tilting his head.

Shouto crooned back to Midori and made his way to the nest. His chest puffed happily as he saw that Midori even took the time to make the nest big enough for the both of them. Maybe even with extra room.

The Rabbit's tail wagged happily as he grabbed onto the Wolf, nuzzling him and babbling gleefully.

Sighing, Shouto settled into the nest. He smiled and rolled onto his back as Midori scented him heavily and began grooming him.

The little Rabbit suddenly stopped as he was grooming Shouto's neck, sitting up on Shouto's chest.

The Wolf looked up to him, then reached up to touch the scar on his neck. While the scar on his face was far more obvious, the one on his neck is more hidden. From the collar his trainer put on him and chained him to the fence with. He remembers many times being choked by it. Times he did not wish to remember. Yet something he wished he could share with Midori.

Midori chirped softly, rubbing their cheeks together. His scent softened, as if trying to comfort the Alpha.

Shouto smiled and nudged him. He rolled on top of Midori, nearly laughing as the smaller squeaked and squirmed.

Playfully, Midori stretched up and nipped at Shouto's chin. Shouto growled softly and returned the gesture, earning gleeful squeaks and wiggles.

Midori really isn't scared of him. He's happy to be sharing a nest with the lone Wolf.

Shouto perked up as the Rabbit wriggled his way out from beneath the Wolf and watched him curiously. His mouth ran dry, breath catching in his throat as Midori presented to him.

Chest to the ground, full hips raised in the air with the sickly sweet scent of his slick fogging up Shouto's nose. Midori looked back to him, flicking his tail tauntingly.

The Wolf inhaled deeply, growl rumbling in his chest. He lifted himself and crawled over the Rabbit, nipping at the nape of his neck as he leaned over, covering the little body completely.

Midori stood on his toes, pressing his hips back into Shouto's, thrilled to feel his arousal growing. The Rabbit tilted his head, grinning as the Wolf leaned forward more to affectionately rub their cheeks together.

Shouto grabbed onto the Omega's slim waist, rocking their hips together. He groaned lowly, closing his eyes as the underside of his arousal dragged along Midori's slick heat. He sighed, nosing Midori's neck. The Rabbit arched his back, chirping in approval.

The Wolf then hesitated for a moment. Midori is... Small. Maybe too small. He swallowed, beginning to fear hurting the Omega.

Midori glanced back to Shouto over his shoulder, flicking his ears.

Shouto met his big green eyes, jaw tense. Midori smiled and chirped, lifting his head to bump Shouto's cheek.

The Wolf nuzzled him. He should be the one easing Midori into this, not the other way around. What kind of an Alpha was he?

He growled as the Rabbit strengthened his scent, saliva building up under his tongue. He rocked back into the Omega, nipping at his shoulders.

Midori jolted his hips up, Shouto hissing at the friction. He gripped Midori tighter, grinding harder until the tip of his cock caught on the Omega. The Rabbit squeaked, gasping and tensing as his walls were stretched to accommodate Shouto.

Shouto growled, panting once he halted to allow the Rabbit some time to adjust. Midori's tail twitched against his stomach, fingers curled into the pelt beneath him.

No scent of distress, no scent of pain. Shouto leaned over the Rabbit, chest pressing against his back. He released his waist to brace himself on either side of the Omega's head. He started slowly, getting a feel for the movements and giving Midori time to do the same.

Midori panted, eyes pinched shut and freckled cheeks flushed red. He chittered softly, ears drooping slightly.

Shouto rubbed his cheek on Midori's shoulder in praise as the walls around him relaxed and the Omega began to move with him.

Moaning, Midori did his best to move with Shouto, eagerly meeting the shallow thrusts. Shouto crooned to the Omega, picking up his pace. The Rabbit gasped, back arching sharper. His fingers flexed and dug deeper into the pelts, eyes fluttering.

Shouto growled deeply, hunching over the Omega. He gripped the pelts tighter, nose pressed into Midori's nape. He nipped, grinning at the shudder he caused.

Claim Omega!

The Alpha huffed, thrusts more eager and confident. Midori's ears and tail bounced with each thrust, his noises becoming louder. Shouto nearly startled as a small hand clasped tightly around his wrist, Midori grounding himself. He dropped down to his elbows, twisting his paw to entwin their fingers together. He raised his other hand, gripping the Rabbit's hip. Good thing as he could feel the poor Rabbit's legs trembling.

He grit his teeth, eyes screwing shut as he felt a knot twisting and tightening low in his gut, his movements becoming more erratic.

Midori squealed, hips twitching, walls clenching tighter. His tail beat erratically against Shouto's stomach, heart racing so fast and loud the Wolf could hear it.

Though, maybe it could be his own heart he's hearing.

Shouto growled louder, the sound rumbling deep in his chest, chasing release. Midori cried in pleasure, claws digging into Shouto's hand. Slick gushed from the Omega, smattering on the nest beneath. Shouto bit down hard on the nape of Midori's neck, teeth sinking into his skin. He reached between, grasping his cock tightly as he came, blocking his knot from forcing its way inside the little Omega.

Midori trembled as Shouto's spend pooled inside him. He whimpered and panted, neck stinging, hips and cunt throbbing.

The Wolf blinked slowly, steadily recovering. He released the Omega's neck and lapped tenderly at the wound. He pulled out, easing the Omega down into a cleaner part of the nest.

The Rabbit panted softly, nose twitching. Shouto scrunched his nose and discarded the dirty material. He carefully fixed the nest before laying with Midori.

His mate.

He has a mate, now. A rather unorthodox one at that.

If his sire could see him... If that trainer could see him.

Midori curled up tightly, nuzzling into Shouto's chest. The Wolf pulled him close and began gently grooming him. Midori's foot twitched as he chittered happily, relaxing more at the affection.

The Alpha smiled, contentedly cleaning off his mate. His mate. He loves how that sounds.

It wasn't much longer before the smaller Hybrid fell asleep, held tightly against Shouto's chest.

He could definitely get used to this.

~

Midori is either in peak heat, or his heat is hyperactive because there is an Alpha satisfying it now, but Shouto was woken twice during the night to satiate Midori's desires, and once again at sunrise. Each time, Shouto held the Omega after and groomed him until he fell back asleep. It was a rather nice routine.

Shouto stretched and yawned as he exited his den once his Omega was asleep again. He sighed and looked around, snow glittering in the orange sunlight. The sun was only peering over the horizon, just barely waking itself.

He decided he should head to his Omega's previous den. Find anything his Omega may still want or need. He trotted to the clearing with the stream, halting as he heard rustling. He looked over, spotting a few birds chirping by the stream.

A little snack would be good for him.

~

Shouto followed Midori's very stale scent of distress, lurking carefully through the trees. It hasn't yet been a full two days, nor has there been any rain or snowfall, so there was very little to wash away the Omega's scent.

The scent of ash and sugar was everywhere, practically marked on every tree. The Lion sure was thorough in his scent marking.

But he noticed that as his Omega's scent strengthened, so did the Lion's.

Shouto came to a stop, finally at the small den of his Rabbit. The scent was stale, but it was unmistakable.

What else was unmistakable was the pile of offerings beside the entrance of the den. And the scents surrounding. The scent of the Lion was not threatening. Not in the slightest.

The Lion had been courting the Rabbit.

Shouto swallowed hard as he recognized another scent. That of the Bear.

The Lion was protecting the Rabbit from the Bear. Midori ran and hid from the Bear, not the Lion like Shouto had originally thought.

This isn't good. This is not good.

He just mated the Omega the Lion was courting. He just practically declared a territory war on his neighbor.

His ears lowered, tail falling between his legs.

Maybe he was wrong. Maybe his Omega really did only want him because of his heat.

What if he wants to return to the Lion once his heat is over, but can't because now he is bonded to Shouto?

Oh, no... No, no, no... What have I done..?

~

Shouto fell deeper and deeper in his mind as he trekked back to his den, carrying what he could for Midori.

When he returned, the Rabbit squealed happily and bounced around him. He bumped into Shouto's shoulder and stood on his hind legs to lick his cheek.

The Wolf wondered just how much of this was actually meant for him. How much did the Rabbit realize he was doing?

Midori eagerly took the offered nesting supplies and food, chirping and hopping back into the den.

Shouto slowly followed, sitting by the entrance.

The Omega rescented his old materials and incorporated them into his new nest, tail flicking and ears twitching. Midori chirped once he finished and curled up in the middle of the nest.

The Wolf only approached after being beckoned. He stepped into the nest, looking around. He was still a portion of the nest, but it didn't feel right laying beside the Rabbit. His stomach felt cold as the smaller Hybrid nuzzled closer to him. Shouto swallowed, nosing at Midori's fur atop his head. So warm and soft.

So very likely to disappear when his heat ends.

He can't believe he took advantage of the Rabbit - exactly what he had been scorning the Lion for(though it turns out the Lion hadn't taken advantage. Maybe triggered the heat, but hadn't taken advantage of the Rabbit's state). Exactly what he hated his Sire and Trainer for. He's as low as them. Lower, maybe.

Shouto reached up, tracing the outline of the mark he made on the Rabbit's nape. He looked down at it, feeling along the smooth skin, breaking into the scabbing wound. He didn't puncture the Rabbit's scent gland. Unlike wolves, Rabbit's glands are more up the shoulder, right where the neck meets. The crook of his neck. Shouto had marked him, but hadn't completely bonded with him.

That provided some semblance of relief.

Midori looked up, eyes big and curious. He reached back, touching the wound on his neck, then tilted his head. He chirped softly to Shouto, bumping their noses together.

The Wolf chuffed, flopping down into the nest, spread on his back as he looked up to the roof of his den.

The Rabbit not-so-subtly wriggled on top of him, ears perked amd tail flicking. He stared down at Shouto, crossing his arms over Shouto's chest to keep himself propped up.

Shouto really wished he understood Midori. Wished he knew what was going on in his brain. Wished he could tell what was real.

Midori chirped and dropped forward, nuzzling underneath Shouto's chin.

The Wolf hummed and closed his eyes, holding the Rabbit close.

He'll bask for now... Separating himself from Midori now after aiding his heat for a night will only go badly. He just hopes the Rabbit's heat ends soon.

The following day was just as much of a struggle. Fighting his urges to complete his claim on the Omega, avoiding the waves as much as possible,

It was hard, keeping apart from Midori, but Shouto had to. When Shouto realized Midori's heat was over, he lead the Rabbit from his den.

Midori bounced about excitedly, snow flinging back behind him, tail flicking faster than Shouto's ever seen it. He chirped and hopped in the air, attempting to catch the falling flakes.

He was such a happy, energetic little thing.

When they reached the clearing, Midori sprinted in every which direction, each time he turned nearly slipping in the snow.

Shouto sat down, ears low as he watched the Rabbit.

Breathing deeply, Shouto raised his head and rolled his shoulders, releasing a howl to call out to the Mountain Lion. He's never called out to the Lion before, but hopefully he understands.

Midori perked up, looking back at Shouto. His head tilted, ears flicking. He chirped back, then hopped over. He stood on his hindlegs once he was in front of the wolf and reached up. His cold paws gently cupped Shouto's cheeks.

Does he know that Shouto is sending him back home? Does he know this is goodbye?

The Rabbit bumped their noses together, tail twitching happily.

A low snarl echoed from the trees across the clearing, earning the attention of both Rabbit and Wolf.

Shouto looked up, Midori turning around.

The Mountain Lion sauntered out of the shadows.

Midori's ears flicked and he crouched back down to all fours. He hopped slowly across the clearing. He halted, then looked back to Shouto.

The Wolf nodded in the Mountain Lion's direction.

The other Alpha groused, calling to Midori.

Shouto could practically smell his relief, even from so far. The Mountain Lion was happy the Rabbit was okay. He stood and shook the snow from his pelt. He should probably start gathering Midori's things. The Rabbit will want them back in his den.

Shouto's tail swept over the snow as he turned and walked back into the trees.

This is better. Shouto is meant to be alone. Midori can be with someone knowing they chose him outside of his heat. Midori will never have reason to doubt the Lion-

Shouto halted, ear twitching as he heard the Rabbit squeal and his paws scattering the snow. He turned, yelping and stumbling as Midori crashed into him.

The Lion called from the clearing, bounding into it after the Rabbit.

Midori babbled, tears in his eyes as he latched onto Shouto, holding so tightly he may leave bruises.

Shouto fell back into the snow, eyes wide in shock. Midori nuzzled under his chin, pungent distress burning the Wolf's nose. He looked to the Lion, confused and in a state of distress as well.

The other Alpha appeared just as surprised, frozen to his place.

Midori, whimpering and trembling, pulled himself up and bit down on Shouto's shoulder. Not hard enough to break skin, or cause any harm due to his shaking and sobbing. As he looked up to the Wolf, Shouto's heart melted.

The Rabbit is trying to mark him as well.

Shouto whined, pulling Midori flush against his chest, burying his nose in the unruly curls of fluff on Midori's head.

He felt Midori relax steadily, his sniffles dying down.

The Wolf looked back to the Lion to see him already making his way back to his side of the clearing, head and tail low. Midori chose who he wanted and the Lion accepted that.

Shouto sighed, nuzzling back into Midori.

So maybe he won't have to take Midori's belongings from his den.

Shouto woke from his deep slumber slowly, the pale light of dawn seeping through the sliver the pelt covering the entrance to his den left.

He stretched his arms above his head, groaning as his stiff joints loosened, careful of the warm body pressed into his own.

Little chirps and whimpers caught his attention and he forced his eyes open.

Shouto lifted himself, peering over his mate to the four little bundles. His tail swept across the floor, smile tugging at his lips.

While they are not a surprise, he's woken to them every day for the last week, he still finds himself indescribably happy every time. He crooned softly to them - one little Wolf pup and three Rabbit kits.

The pup was born completely white, but as the days go by, Shouto can see little patches of green coloring her fur. The first born, a little red rabbit, was the quietest of the litter, though he had the strongest grip on Shouto's paw each time he was held by his sire.

Next kit was a green and white Rabbit. She kept Shouto and Midori up most nights, squealing and squirming, refusing to sleep and fussing over the slightest of inconveniences.

Then lastly, a completely green kit, just like his Dam. He's quiet as well and clings to the oldest kit despite the red one being smaller.

Shouto leaned over Midori, gently nosing his litter. He can't wait for their eyes to open. He just knows his breath will be stolen away.

Midori stretched and yawned, so Shouto moved to give his mate more space. The Rabbit's tail flicked, ear twitching as he rubbed his eyes to wake himself more.

The Wolf nosed his mate's cheek, earning a little smile. Midori chirped back, tilting his head. The Rabbit's sleepy and content scent began to fill the dark den, helping the fussing litter to calm down.

Shouto lay on his back with a happy sigh, tail swishing slowly.

✌😗had the idea two weeks ago, played with it, tweeked it, then started writinf it earlier this week. I actually surprised myself. I have eight other unfinished one shots I'm on-and-off working on and I haven't come close to finishing the chapter I'm supposed to update in two days for my Green Hope story🤷 I actually managed to,finish something.

This was also quite the challenge, though. I've never written something with no dialogue. I'm normally using a ton of dialogue, so this was a good exercise for me to expand my writing skills.
