Prepare for slight angst

When Izuku found out he was pregnant, he began to panic. Him and Katsuki had only been married a little over a year. They had talked about children before, but the Alpha was quick to shoot the idea down.

"We're young, still just starting in our hero careers. We have no time for kids." He would say like it wasn't a big deal.

Izuku agreed. He wanted to be the number one hero, too, but he also wanted a family. They had the room in their house they bought shortly after they had been married.

So, when the pink plus sign on the stick manifested, Izuku was extremely excited. He was grinning ear to ear until he heard the front door open and his Alpha call out.

"I'm home, Izu!"

The Omega froze up, gripping the test tightly.

He started to shake, tearing up.

"Izuku? Where are you?"

Izuku placed a trembling hand over his abdomen, tears streaking his freckled cheeks. What would his Alpha say? Would he snap? Would he accept it?

He whimpered, closing his eyes. Should he keep it secret? Abort the child before Katsuki knows?

Katsuki opened their bedroom door. "Izuku, are you in here? Seriously, you're fucking freaking me out."

A sob escaped from Izuku and his Alpha burst into the bathroom, eyes wide.

It was too late to pretend.

"I-I'm sorry..." The Omega cried softly as Katsuki slowly took the test from him. "I-I'm so sorry... I-I know you-you don't want kids, b-but-"

"Izuku..."

Izuku hiccuped, rubbing his eyes. The silence was killing him. He wasn't sure if Katsuki was about to yell.

The Alpha set the test on the counter and gently took his Omega's hands. "Izuku, breathe. Look at me."

Sniffling, cheeks red and lip trembling, Izuku finally managed to look up to his Alpha.

Katsuki smiled and cupped Izuku's face before kissing him gently. "I never said that I didn't want kids, stupid. I still don't think we're ready since we just started our own agency, but if you're pregnant, you're pregnant." He ran his thumbs under Izuku's wide green eyes. "We'll make it work."

Izuku smiled weakly, sniffing. "Really..?" He asked softly.

"Yeah," Katsuki huffed, kissing Izuku's nose. "I already knocked you up. Not much we can do about it now."

The Omega giggled softly and Katsuki raised a brow at him. "Do you have to say it like that..?" He asked.

Katsuki scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Well, how do you fuckin' want me to say it? I knocked you up. That's what happened, isn't it?"

Izuku shook his head, wrapping his arms around Katsuki. "I know, but... There's gotta be a better way to say it..." He finally relaxed. "I'm glad, though... I was scared you'd be mad..."

"I could tell..." The blonde pulled him close. "I could never be mad at you for something that's mostly my fault. Your last heat I got pretty rough." He nuzzles into Izuku's hair, breathing in his sweet scent. "Maybe I broke a condom."

The Omega sighed, closing his eyes. "I don't care... I'm just... So happy now..."

Katsuki hummed, swaying with him. "Good..."

"Oh, that's cold." Izuku shuddered as the gel was spread over his lower abdomen.

The nurse giggled, placing the wand over the gel. "Sorry about that."

Katsuki took Izuku's hand, staring at the screen. "So, exactly how big is it?"

"Well," The nurse mused, moving around the wand, "since Izuku is only six weeks in, they're roughly the size of a sweet pea. Oh, and there we are."

Izuku grinned and squeaked, squeezing Katsuki's hand. "Our baby, Kacchan!"

The blonde huffed, but smiled and nodded. "Yeah. They look just like you already. Weak and scrawny."

His Omega scowled as he looked up at him. Katsuki chuckled and kissed his temple. "I'm joking, geez. Hey, nurse. Can we get pictures?"

"Of course," the nurse chirped and smiled at them.

"There is no fucking way in hell you are going out there."

Izuku narrowed is eyes and crossed his arms. "Why not?"

Katsuki gestured towards Izuku's only slightly swollen abdomen. "Deku, you are starting to show. I don't know about you, but I'm not willing to risk it."

The green haired hero sighed, shoulders drooping. "I just... Don't want to stop doing hero work just because I'm pregnant."

"I know, but if you go out there, anything and everything could hurt the nugget." Katsuki kissed his forehead, groaning as his name is called. "You can keep working... Just... Please not out in the streets."

Izuku nodded, biting his lip. "Yeah... Okay..."

Katsuki stared at his mate for a few more seconds before finally running off to help with the villain attack.

"It's a girl!" Izuku squealed happily, eyes shimmering as he held up the most recent ultrasound picture.

Ochako and Momo squealed with him, both admiring the photo.

"Look at how big she's getting," Ochako crooned, cheeks pink. "I'm so jealous. Tenya is being too careful about not getting me pregnant."

Momo sighed, chin in her hand. "Shoto is the same. So careful during my heats. I wish for once he was like Bakugo and just let loose for just one heat." She pouted slightly, tapping her cheek.

Izuku smiled, looking down to the picture. "Yeah... I really lucked out that he got a little too rough once. If he didn't, I probably wouldn't be pregnant for another couple years. He's hellbent on making our agency the best of the best." The Omega sighed, rubbing his swollen belly.

Ochako leaned over. "Well, do you have any names yet?"

"No," Izuku smiled at her, "but Kacchan keeps calling her nugget."

"How's Hana this morning?"

Izuku smiled as his mate kissed his cheek and placed a warm hand on his large belly. "She's been pretty quiet this morning."

Katsuki leaned over, nuzzling his mate's baby bump. "Good morning, Hana... This is daddy."

Hana kicked in response, her parents beaming happily.

The Alpha leaned back up, kissing Izuku. "Any plans for today?"

"Yaomomo is taking me shopping today." Izuku set his book aside, chuckling as his mate raised a brow.

"Why? We have the crib, the changing table, clothes, diapers-"

"Yes, I know." Izuku quieted his Alpha and took his hand. "She just wants to go, so I figured I would humor her. Especially since I can't work now that I'm a month and a half away from her due date," he explained, ending with a quick kiss to Katsuki's cheek.

Katsuki scoffed and stood. "Fine... But don't go spending a ton of money like you did last time, nerd."

Izuku whined. "It was just the once! And- it's not my fault that cribs are so expensive!"

The Alpha chuckled, nuzzling his hair. "It's whatever... As long as we have what we need for the nugget."

Izuku hummed happily, hands on his belly as he walked alongside his friend.

Momo grinned as she noticed. "God, you are just radiating joy, Izuku."

The green haired Omega grinned and shrugged, looking back to her. "I can't help it. Kacchan's being really careful with me and Hana. He's really protective of us... And... He actually said that he's thinking about more kids..."

This caused his friend to beam. "Really!? He actually said he wants more!?"

Izuku giggled and nodded. "Yeah! He did!" He tilted his head as he thought back to the other day. "Well, what he said was that he supposes Hana should have more siblings to fight with so she can start improving her quirk as soon as it manifests." He muttered, narrowing his eyes slightly. "I don't really approve of it, but... It still made me happy to know he wants more kids." He grinned back to his friend.

Momo giggled and clapped, the bags dangling from her arms quivering with the movement. "Still, that's exciting!" She cheered. "I just finally got Shoto to even consider kids and I- Izuku, look out-!"

Katsuki grunted, arms up as he blocked an attack. "Damn!" He cursed. "We're not making any headway!" He snapped, looking to the hero beside him.

Red Riot, or Eijirou Kirishima, panted heavily, wiping blood from his cheek. "Yeah... He's too damn fast. We're going to need to think of something and fast. There's another attack across town."

Ground Zero scoffed, getting into stance. "Two attacks? Damn, that... Wait, where? Where's the attack?"

Eijirou blinked at Katsuki's sudden concern, but got into stance as well, waiting for when the other heros needed to step back. "Uh, I'm not entirely sure. Just outside the mall, I think."

Katsuki gulped. Oh, God... What if Izuku is at the mall? Maybe he didn't go to the mall. Maybe there's this other store Momo knows that isn't anywhere near a damn mall-

"Ground Zero! Your turn!"

"Right!" Katsuki raised his hands. "A.P. Shot!"

Police and other heros praised Katsuki as the villain was arrested and taken away. He grinned, happy to have finally taken down the villain.

Katsuki made it back to his agency. He sat in his office and pulled out the paperwork he needed. He picked up his phone, ready to call his mate when an unknown number started calling him.

He stared at the screen, then an overwhelming sense of dread clutched his chest. He swallowed hard and answered. "Hello?"

"Is this Bakugo, Katsuki?"

"Yes."

"Sir, your mate was involved in a villain attack today and is currently in emergency surgery."

Katsuki's world came to a sudden halt.

"Where is he!?" Katsuki snapped, charging into the hospital, still in full hero uniform. "Where's my mate!?"

"Ground Zero!" One of the nurses gasped, running over to him. She held her hands up as his began to pop. "Sir, your mate is still in surgery."

"Still!?" He snarled, tears burning his eyes. "How long has he been in surgery!?" Katsuki demanded, Eijirou grabbing his arm to hold him back just in case.

The nurse calmly lead the two Alphas to the waiting lounge. "He's been under for roughly an hour now."

An hour... Katsuki gulped, hands starting to shake. "H-Hana..? I-is Hana..?" He tried to ask, voice breaking off.

Eijirou stepped up beside him. "The baby, ma'am... What about the baby?"

The nurse nodded and gestured with her hand. "She's alive. We had to perform an emergency c-section to be able to save her. Would you like to see her..?"

"I... I can... I..." Katsuki couldn't seem to form any words, mind reeling from shock.

The red head spoke up for him, taking his gauntlets. "Yes, he wants to see her."

Katsuki shook as he followed the nurse. His eyes flittered about the halls, taking everything in as much as he could in his frazzled state.

Before they entered the NICU, the nurse had Katsuki put on a thin gown and wash his hands. He set his gloves aside as well as his mask. She helped him with the neoprene gloves and he put on his own mask.

Finally, she lead him into the room and over to an incubator. He gulped, fat tears escaping his eyes as he saw her.

"She's going to need some help breathing for a few weeks, but her heart is strong. She'll make it." The nurse spoke softly as they stood beside the incubator. "Do you want to hold her..?"

Katsuki jumped and he looked to the nurse like she grew a second head. "A-are you sure I can..?"

She giggled and nodded. "Yes. Just for a moment."

He gulped and looked down to the sleeping babe.

The nurse opened the incubator and carefully picked up at tiny babe.

Katsuki hesitantly took her from the nurse.

Hana curled up in his arms, tinier than he's ever pictured her.

"She's only five pounds..."

His eyes buldged as he looked to the nurse. "Five!?"

Hana started to whimper and the Alpha quickly settled himself. He looked back down to her, swallowing thickly. "She... She's so small... So light... I'm afraid I might break her..."

The nurse smiled softly, taking a picture. "You won't..."

The babe's eyes opened and Katsuki's breath caught in his throat. Her eyes were a stormy gray kind of a color, just like most children when they are born, but they still startled the Alpha. Her hair that just barely layered her head was a very pale green color. Her cheeks were plump and rosy.

She was perfect. More perfect than Katsuki could have hoped for.

He was so reluctant to lay her back in the incubator.

"What did you and your mate name her..?"

Katsuki was unable to take his eyes off his daughter. "Hana... Izuku really liked it because she was supposed to be born in the spring..."

The nurse smiled, writing her name down. "That's a beautiful name..."

Katsuki paced impatiently, biting his thumb nail.

Eijirou watched worriedly, Denki Kaminari standing beside him.

"He's still in surgery..?" Denki muttered softly. "Momo came out an hour ago. Why is Deku still in surgery?"

The red head sighed. "Deku got the worst of the attack. The villain had been targeting him... They're lucky that Hana even lived after the attack..." He explained softly, keeping an eye on his friend.

Finally, the surgeon walked in, taking off her cap and gloves.

Katsuki snapped his head up and hurried over. "Is he out? Will he be okay? He's alive, right?"

The surgeon smiled tiredly. "Yes, yes, Mr. Bakugou. Bakugou Izuku is being moved to recovery. He is still asleep, but there is something I have to tell you before you go in there..."

The tone in her voice gripped at Katsuki's chest. He swallowed hard. "What..?"

"Izuku's uterus had been severely damaged. After removing your daughter, I thought I would be able to repair him, but... I ended up having to remove his entire uterus... Your mate will no longer be able to bare children or have heats..." She spoke softly and calmly, knowing better than to reach out to him like she would any other patient she would break similar news to.

Katsuki didn't lash out though. He stared at her with wide, horrified red eyes. Tears spilled down his pale cheeks. "But... But, he... We just... We were talking about... More kids..."

"I'm so sorry..." She whispered, looking over to the other Heros.

Eijirou hurried over and placed a comforting hand on Katsuki's shoulder.

She started to turn. "I can show you to your mate's room..."

Katsuki only nodded, still trembling.

Eijirou stayed beside his friend as they walked the hospital. He gulped, tearing up as he saw Izuku laying in the hospital bed. "Bakugou... Want me to stay..?"

"Uh... Yeah..." Katsuki muttered, dragging himself over to the bed.

The red head pulled a chair over and coaxed the blonde into it. Katsuki's jaw and fists clenched and he sobbed, hunching over the bed. His shaky hand took Izuku's. He placed a careful kiss to his mate's knuckles.

Eijirou gulped, watching him. The surgeon left quietly, closing the door. He bit his lip, breathing deeply.

His friend looked so broken. He's never looked like this before. Ever. Eijirou didn't think he'd see Katsuki like this as long as he lived. Katsuki was too hardcore.

"Hana is okay, Izu..."

Eijirou perked up, looking over to the blonde.

Katsuki held Izuku's hand to his cheek, tracing his other hand up and down Izuku's forearm. "She's so small... I was so worried about squishing her or something... She really is a nugget..."

He calmed down enough, eyes distant as he talked to his unconscious mate. "I love her... So much... So much that I don't need any more kids... So... Don't... Don't feel like you should have more... Okay..? Please..." Katsuki kissed Izuku's hand again, gently squeezing it.

Eijirou sighed and sat down. He rubbed his face, wondering how this could have happened to the best person he's ever known.

No, it was on purpose. A villain found out he was pregnant and was so desperate to tear down the new symbol of peace that he attacked the first chance he could get... Trying to tear all happiness away from Izuku.

It worked, for the most part.

Even though Hana lived, Izuku was most definitely going to become severely depressed as most Omegas do when finding out they're barren.

"Ka... Kacchan..?"

Katsuki's head snapped up so fast he almost got whiplash. It startled Eijirou more than Izuku speaking did.

"I'm here. I'm right here, Izuku." Katsuki scooted to the edge of the chair, reaching up to stroke his mate's hair out of his face. "I'm here..."

Izuku's eyes opened tiredly. His head tilted to look at his mate. "Kacchan..?" His voice rasped as he tried to speak louder. "What... Happened..?"

His Alpha bit his lip, squeezing his hand. "You and Yaoyorozu were attacked while you were shopping... But you're okay now," he tried to smile and reassure his mate.

The Omega groaned softly, free hand instinctively raising to his abdomen. His breath caught and eyss widened, the heart monitor suddenly beeping faster.

Eijirou quickly stood up, worried something was going wrong, Katsuki quickly standing as well.

"Where- where's- Hana!? My baby!?" Izuku cried weakly, tears forming in his dull, tired eyes as he tried to move.

"She's okay!" Katsuki held Izuku's hand to his chest, cupping his cheek as he tries to get the Omega's attention. "Hana is okay. They had to perform an emergency c-section..."

This calmed Izuku to soft sobs. He relaxed, leaning into Katsuki's touch. "Too early... She still... Had to stay..."

Katsuki nodded, kissing his forehead. "I know... The doctor said she's going to need help breathing for the next few weeks while her lungs finish developing, but she's very healthy... She'll be okay..."

A tiny, quivering smile tugged at Izuku's lips. "Can... Can I see her..?"

His Alpha blinked and he looked back to the red head.

Eijirou nodded and walked out into the hall. "Ah- oh! Nurse!"

A nurse perked up and smiled. "Hi! Can I help you?"

"Yes, my friend just woke up. Bakugou Izuku. He wants to see his newborn daughter. Can he?" Eijirou asked softly.

The nurse hummed, pulling up Izuku's file on her computer, then smiled and nodded. "Yes. I can bring her incubator down. I just paged Izuku's doctor so she'll be down in just a few minutes to check in on your friend."

Eijirou sighed and smiled in relief. When he walked back in, hopeful green and red eyes were on him. "The nurse is getting Hana now."

Izuku whimpered in relief, gripping Katsuki's hand as best as he could. "How... How small is she..?"

Katsuki smiled and sat on the edge of the bed. "She's only five pounds... I could almost fit her in just one hand... But, she looked right up at me. She has your big, round eyes... Green hair like you..."

The Omega bit his lip. "I can't wait..."

The three looked up as Izuku's doctor came in.

She grinned and walked over, holding a tablet. "Hi, good to see you awake."

Izuku smiled and hummed. "Kacchan is telling me about Hana... Will I be able to hold her..?"

His doctor hummed as she looked at the monitors. "Well... I don't want you to sit up... Maybe your husband can lay her on your chest."

The Omega grinned, looking up at Katsuki.

Katsuki chuckled. "Yeah, yeah. I know."

"Well, everything looks good." She lifts Izuku's gown, checking the padding over his wound. She changed out the guaze, checking the stitches. "Yup. Well, I'll be checking in on you plenty these next few days, but so far you look like you're doing good."

Katsuki squeezed Izuku's hand, then followed the doctor out.

"Ah, excuse me. Doctor."

She turned to face him. "Yes, sir?"

He gulped and looked away. "Is it okay... If I tell him that we can't have anymore kids..?"

The surgeon blinked and nodded. "Of course. I would reccomend telling him soon, though."

"Right, no, I know that." He straightened up, then relaxed as he saw Hana's incubator being wheeled towards them. He took the handles from the nurse carefully, trying his best not to be rude.

Hana looked right up at him and the Alpha was set at ease.

The door opened and Katsuki pushed the incubator inside. "Look who's in here!"

Izuku reached out, grinning wide.

Eijirou chuckled, making sure Izuku stayed down.

Katsuki gently lifted Hana and his mate whimpered impatiently. He carefully lay Hana on his mate's chest. She cooed, curled up.

Izuku smiled fondly, hands on her back. "She is so small... You lied, Kacchan. Her eyes are shaped like yours, not mine."

"No my fuckin' fault she's got fat cheeks that made her eyes look bigger," Katsuki scoffed, sitting on the edge of the bed.

The Omega giggled, petting her hair. "So soft... I love her..." He teared up, shifting just enough to kiss her head. "I love her so much... I'm so happy she's okay..."

Katsuki smiled in just the slightest, petting Izuku's hair back out of his face. He leaned over and kissed his forehead, then paused at a sudden flash.

He snapped his head up and sneered, Eijirou holding up his phone, face pale as he realized his flash went off.

"Ah... Oops?"

"Oops!?" Katsuki stood. "You fucking delete that, shitty hair!"

"Never!" Eijirou shouted, running out of the room.

Katsuki returned the next day with just one flower. He handed it to his Omega as Izuku reached for it.

"Aw, thank you, Kacchan..." He smiled to his Alpha, smelling the petals. "Todoroki dropped by earlier to let me know that Momo is okay."

"Yeah? Good." Katsuki sat on the bed beside his mate, looking down. "Look, Izu... I need to tell you something..."

Izuku blinked, looking up to his mate. "Sure, Kacchan. What is it? Something wrong?"

Katsuki gulped, taking Izuku's hand. He bit his lip, actually tearing up once again.

The Omega frowned, gripping Katsuki's hand. "Katsuki, what's the matter?"

"Izuku, we can't..." Katsuki grit his teeth, carefully placing his other hand on his mate's abdomen. "I love Hana... I love her so much. I don't think I could love any other kid as much as I love her." He spoke softly, unable to look his mate in the eyes.

Izuku looked at him, puzzled. "Why are you..? Kacchan, that's okay, but you don't know if that's true. Maybe you could-"

"Stop." Katsuki quipped quickly before Izuku could keep talking. "Stop it, stupid... We don't need more kids..."

"Kacchan, you're worrying me. I get what you're saying, but why are you so sad?"

Katsuki swallowed hard, resting his head on Izuku's chest. "That villain... He was trying to kill Hana... But he missed and the doctor was able to take her out before she was hurt... However... Your... Your uterus couldn't be fixed... They... She had to take it out... We can't have more kids... We can't..."

Izuku breathed in sharply, shaking as tears fell from his eyes. He whimpered, grip on his mate's hand tightening. "Wh-what..? N-no more..?"

The Alpha shifted to lay beside his Omega, holding him as best as he could as Izuku cried.

His Omega wailed weakly, clinging tightly to Katsuki. He buried his nose in Izuku's hair, tears stinging his eyes.

Izuku cried until he fell asleep, but Katsuki kept holding him until the doctor made him leave late that day.

The day Izuku and Hana could come home, all the friends showed up with presents.

Katsuki was quick to kick them all out, even though Izuku pouted at him and asked him to let them stay.

"Kacchan, why couldn't they stay? At least for a few more minutes." Izuku huffed as his Alpha helped him into their bed.

"Because they're fucking annoying and you are supposed to be resting, dumbass," Katsuki grumbled.

Izuku sighed, but smiled as he lay down. Katsuki then took Hana out of her carsest. He tucked the pale orange blanket tighter around her before laying her in Izuku's arms. "Hi, princess..."

Hana slept peacefully, fists tucked into her rosy cheeks.

Katsuki kicked off his boots and lay beside them. He watched as Izuku toyed with the blanket. His eyes were on their baby.

"I love you..." Izuku blinked and looked up as Katsuki spoke. "I don't say it enough. I realized that on my way to the hospital after I got the call. I am going to try to say it more."

Izuku smiled. "You don't have to, Kacchan... I already know... You show me you love me all the time. You don't need to say it." Izuku took Katsuki's hand.

Katsuki shuffled closer and pulled them both to his chest, careful of Hana. "I'll protect you better... Both of you..."

"I know, Kacchan..."

Izuku curled up, closing his eyes. "You're the best..."

"Damn straight..."
