Landon's POV

5 seconds of summer's song Jet Black Heart is playing as I'm lead - well more like as I'm dragged- to the back of the seemingly innocent booth at the back of the room of this random restaurant. I can't believe he found me. It's been two months since I ran into him at the grocery store. Shit! What am I going to do? I kept a cold mask on my face as I discreetly checked my surroundings. The kitchen is right next to the bathrooms. I'm sure they have a back exit for deliveries and stuff. I need to find a way to get there. We reached the back booth and all thoughts of escape ceased to exist. I was forced to sit down. I looked into those cold green eyes that once brought feelings of safety, love, and awe, but now bring feelings of dread, anxiety, and pain.

"Landon."

I steeled my face from any kind of emotion.

"Luke."

"Why so cold? You used to shout my name in joy and usually pleasure."

He had the nerve to wink at me. I wanted to scoff in disgust and spit in his face, but I controlled myself. I stayed quiet and just let him do all the talking.

"Will you be giving me the silent treatment this whole time?"

I still didn't say anything.

"Fine, I came here to have a decent conversation with you where I tell you that I have your niece and I-"

I couldn't control myself after he said that. I lunged across the table trying to reach him, but his goons grabbed me before I could reach and pulled me back to my seat. One was about to punch me, but Luke held up his hand to stop him.

"Now that certainly got your attention. Do you want to see her? What is her name? Zuri?"

I clenched my fist in my hand. How did he find out about her? I made sure Angie never left the house while pregnant except to her doctor appointments. Then, when she gave birth. I told them our mother was dead and that we had no other family. We used alias when at the doctors since Zuri was going to have her father's last name we didn't change hers. The only time we didn't use an alias was when we rent our apartment. That must have been it. Fuck, maybe one of our neighbors told him about Angie getting pregnant. But how did he get her from her father? He couldn't have known unless he had someone follow me after he found me at the store. Fuck! Shouldn't Zayden have decent security? How did he get her then?

"How?"

That was all I needed to say and he'd know what I was asking.

"I had you followed as you may have guessed by now. Plus, Frost had more security installed and hired some bodyguards since paparazzi was flooding his house ever since they found out he had a daughter. It was easy. I had one of my guys go in undercover and steal her when she was down for one of her naps."

"You bastard! What has she ever done to you? I didn't want her to have this kind of life!"

Luke begins to laugh. Fuck, what am I going to do?

"I'll tell you what. You come with us peacefully and we won't bring the girl into this life at all."

"I want to see her."

"You'll see her when we get to the house."

"Fuck you! I want to see her before we leave this booth!"

"Now, darling is that anyway to speak to someone who could kill her with just a click of a button."

"Let me see her."

"Fine, but just know I will not tolerate your attitude after this. Once you see that she is in my possession then you will come with me without further complaints. And when we get home, I'll remind you of our rules."

He gives me this evil smirk, that I once found beautiful, before started texting on his phone and soon he clicked a few more things before showing me the screen. He had pulled up some sort of live stream. I gasped because there was Zuri. I would recognize the onesie she was wearing anywhere. I bought it for her when Angie was still alive. I had accidently bought it for a 3 month old instead of a newborn and since it was really cute we kept it. She was in a crib. The room was fully decorated. Why would Landon decorate the room? He doesn't give a shit about accommodating people. He loathes children so I know he doesn't want her. The camera seems to be in the corner of the room that is closest to the crib since I have a very good view of the room except for directly underneath it. Soon someone comes into the room. She looked familiar then it hit me. To be sure, I asked him a question.

"Who is that?"

He takes a look at the screen. Without blinking an eye, he answers that it's his cleaning lady.

"What happened to Delilah? You didn't kill her did you?"

"No. She still works there. She's gotten older though and I needed things done fast so I hired another one. In fact, I hired her two weeks before you left. I'm surprised you didn't notice her before."

Liar! He doesn't fucking care if his staff gets old and need help. He'd either fire them or kill them for their incompetence. Plus, her name is Anna, not Delilah. He doesn't know shit when it comes to the staff. Luckily, I still remember everyone there and that cleaning lady is definitely not a part of his staff. That maid in the room with Zuri is the maid who took her in. So that means that he doesn't have her. He has a camera in her room. Shit, I need to warn them. Fuck! This is all my fault! I left her and she still gets involved in this life. At least he doesn't have her in his hands. But he does know where she is and who she is with which is bad on its own.

"I have to pee. I drank a big gulp on my way here and you know how I have a weak bladder."

I stood and was abruptly push down.

"Don't try anything stupid, Landon. You two, go with him. One in the bathroom and the other guarding the door."

The goons who brought me here get up and quickly guide me to the bathroom. Once inside, the one that came in with me stood there and stared at me.

"Dude, awkward! Please turn the other way. I don't want you staring at my dick! "

He grumbled before turning around. Great, I need to find something. Oh, looky an out of order sign. It's on the last stall. Which is next to a slightly opened window that took up half of the top window. I need to find a way there and open the window completely so I can jump out. I quickly peed because I kind of wasn't lying, I really had to pee. Once I was finished the guy turned around again.

"Um I have to shit!"

I quickly run into the stall and lock the door. I hear him pull out his phone.

"Um do you mind turning on the water so you don't hear me taking a dump?"

He groans and mumble something about annoying twinks. I would have been offended but at the moment I needed to find a way to reach the window without gaining his attention. I was desperate so no judging me for what I'm about to do. I quickly crawled under the stall wall into the next stall. Eww! There is a bit of piss on the floor! God, that is gross! This place isn't fancy or anything but jesus, you'd think they take pride in their bathrooms being this disgusting with how fucking nasty it is in here. I added a little bit of grunting just in case the guy was listening to me. Finally, I reached the last stall. Okay, I got here now what? I opened the stall door a bit and peered out the stall. His back was to me and he seemed to be on his phone. I quickly got to work. I opened the window all the way without it squeaking! Thank fuck! The water from the faucet could have covered the sound, but better safe than sorry. Once it was all the way down. I silently lifted my leg and thrusted it out the window. So close to freedom! Half of my body was outside when the door opens and in comes the other goon.

"What's ta- Hey!"

Shit! I didn't have time to look so I jumped the rest of the way out and quickly took off running in a random direction. I don't know where I was going, I just ran. I seem to be in the alleyway. Fuck!

"Quick! Get him! Before Luke finds out!"

Fuck! Fuck! I turn left at the end of the alleyway. I need to get to Zuri before Luke does. I cross the street without looking and nearly get ran over. I didn't stop at the honking and cussing they were doing. I could hear the footsteps as they pounded on the ground behind me. I heard them cursing up a storm when I took a sudden right into another busy street. I cut through alleyways and even went into a random store and ran out the back exit. I just ran till I was sure that I lost them. I didn't once look back till I got to a park. I leaned over and huffed. Fuck, I need to add cardio to my morning workout because fuck! I'm dying! I'm sure this is what a heart attack feels like! Now, I need to get to my hotel and head back to Zuri. Once I'm sure she is safe I'll leave to keep her that way.
