Once upon a time there was a happy family, it consisted of a husband a wife and their son the son was called ciel, he loved his parents they were happy one day ciels father died from illness leaving just ciel and his mother she knew that she would need to find a father for ciel but no one could replace her husband she loved him too much, as ciel got older he became like his father smart and kind he also looked just like him minus one or two features

Ciel was 12 and his mother called him in to see him ciel said "yes mother" ciel sat down in the study that was his fathers, she said "ciel there's something that I want to tell you" ciel nodded showing he understood, his mother said "ciel you are growing into a fine young man....but you need a male role model I've met someone, he's a wonderful man with two sons who are around your age" ciel was speechless and said "m-mother when?"

His mother gave a kind smile and said "when I was at a party, about 2 years ago he's a wonderful man ciel, over the two years we have grown close and I want you to meet him, you need a male role model I can only do so much ciel" he was speechless, his mother hugged him and said "ciel this does not mean I don't love your father" she parted and cupped his face and said "ciel I am thinking about us, about you so we are stable ciel alright, soon we may not have money this man can provide us we may have a home a roof over our head, but we may not be able to afford food if I were to marry we wouldn't worry, our money may run out say 5 years from now I don't know but we need to make sure we can survive"

Ciel said "but mother, the money father left" she smiled and said "I know but that will not last forever, like I said it could last 5 years it could last 10 maybe even 5 months I don't know, he is a kind wonderful man ciel truly he is, hell be here for dinner so please be nice for me" he nodded and said "yes mother, I understand you are thinking of the future, but what about his sons?" his mother said "I want you to meet him first, his name is william"

Since ciels father passed both him and his mother had learnt to cook and clean to save money, once the meal was ready ciel saw the time and said "mother shouldn't we get ready? I mean hell be hear soon" his mother said "your right" as ciel and his mother where getting ready a carriage was on its way to the phantomhive manor, just as it pulled up ciel and his mother came out the coach men opened the door, to show a tall man with emerald eyes black glasses a black suit black hair and black gloves

Ciel stood there his mother greeted william, she said "william this is my son ciel, the one I told you about" william looked ciel up and down ciel said "pleased to meet you sir" william said "yes, shall we" while they sat ciel got the meal, he was pleased with how it came out he served them and himself, as they ate william said "don't you have servants? your home is quite large and your late husband an earl"

Ciel was a bit annoyed and thought 'the nerve, you just wouldn't pry' ciels mother said "yes we did, but to save and make the money last longer we had to let them go, but it's nothing we cannot handle right ciel" ciel said "yes mother" william pushed his glasses up, the rest of the evening was quiet william rarely spoke to ciel more to his mother, if he asked ciel a question ciel would answer not wanting to be rude

That night after william had gone ciel was helping wash and dry the dishes, his mother said "ciel, what do you think of william?" he didn't want to give his honest opinion as he knew it would upset his mother, and to ciel she seemed happy he hadn't seen her happy since his father passed, he said "he seemed like a nice man mother, but I couldn't give much of an opinion since I've only met him once where as you have known him longer 2 years, and tonight was my first time meeting him"

Ciel chose his words carefully to be sure she wasn't hurt, he knew they had a private talk as ciel had gone to do something else, his mother said "what if he was to be your step father?" luckily ciel had placed the plate on the side because he would have dropped it out of shock, he said "w-well" his mother said "ciel know that I am always here to listen alright, you are my son and your opinion matters for things like this, if william can't accept you then he is not the man I believe he is"

Ciel said "if you are happy mother I am, I noticed you were happy tonight more than any other time, and when you have returned from parties or events over the last 2 years you were happy, and now I know why" she smiled and said "are you alright with him marrying me? you would not only gain a father but two brothers ciel, william will not now or ever replace your father but I'm thinking about the future, william also lost his wife some time ago when his sons where young like me your father"

Ciel said "when will you marry?" his mother said "not yet ciel, in a month william will arrive with his sons, they are a year or so older than you but kind sweet boys, I have met them william did the same with me as I have done with him" ciel nodded and said "will I have to share my room?" his mother smiled and said "no you won't have to ciel, you will each have your own room now tomorrow we had better prepare for their arrival, I know it's not for a month but still we do not have the luxury to have servants but maybe soon" ciel nodded

The month went by in a flash, ciel and his mother where standing outside waiting she was dressed in a simple pastel pink and white dress with elbow length white gloves, ciel was dressed in a dark blue and black suit with knee high socks with white and black shoes, ciel rarely wore this suit as it was his best and would only when meeting someone important, or going to events or parties he was nervous because ciel was quiet and never really one for crowds or new people unless his mother forced him, he never went to parties or events he'd rather just stay in his room reading or baking sweets, soon ciel saw a carriage he had no idea what his new step brothers where like, he just hoped they would get along he wanted to make this work for his mother more than anything, he would sacrifice everything if it meant she would be happy as she was all he had left now

The carriage stopped the door opened ciel saw william step out, ciels mother said "ciel this is claude and alois william's sons" ciel looked to see a boy who was about 15 possibly 16 who was similar to william, the only difference was he had white gloves and gold eyes everything was almost similar, he then saw another boy about 13 or 14 blond hair, bright blue eyes in shorts ciel wore shorts they came just above his knee but not him his where incredibly short, he had a long purple coat on a white shirt with a black bow, a green waist coat thigh high socks and knee high brown boots that had purple ribbons on the front

Ciel couldn't wrap his mind around his two new step brothers, he thought 'there brothers? I mean the taller one I can see the resemblance he dresses like his father, if I didn't know better id swear he was there butler, but the other the blond how can he dress like that?' he was snapped out of his thoughts by his mother she said "and this is ciel my son, ciel why don't you introduce yourself" ciel said "yes mother, I'm ciel phantomhive nice to meet you both" william said "you two are to get along with him, understand" both alois and claude said "yes father"

Ciels mother said "ciel why don't you show alois and claude to their rooms, I have somethings I need to discuss with william" ciel nodded and said "if you'll follow me" they followed ciel alois walked with his hands behind his head and said "its small" claude said "yes it is alois, much smaller than fathers" ciel was getting angry but didn't show it, he needed to get along and that's what he was going to do

Soon they came to two guest rooms next to each other, ciel said "these are your rooms, mother didn't say who would get which room she said you could decide" ciel opened the doors alois said "there so small, are there any bigger rooms? I always get the big room" ciel said "unfortunately there aren't there, fairly big" alois looked them over and said "this one, it's the bigger one" claude said "what is your room like?" ciel was a bit taken back and said "like these, it's no different besides it has my belongings in such as books and other things mother and my father gave me"

He didn't want to show them his room as it was the second biggest after his parents, and he knew alois would wine and moan wanting it and he'd then convince william to convince his mother to get them to swap, he knew it soon it was time for lunch ciel went to the kitchen and he saw his mother there already preparing lunch, she saw him and said "how are you 3 getting along?" ciel put his coat to one side so it wouldn't get dirty, he said "alright mother"

That night ciels mother sat with him in his room she said "ciel are you happy with them with william and his sons? my happiness is meaningless if you are not happy to" ciel gave her a small smile and said "your happiness is my happiness mother, I just haven't gotten to know them as you have, to me they are strangers all I've known until now is you" she stroked his head and kissed the top gently, she said "ciel remain as you are kind, your father was the kindest man I know, that is why I loved him and you are just like him and know I will always love you, just because our family is growing it does not mean I am pushing you out"

Ciel nodded and said "I know mother, and I will I promise father said a phantomhive keeps his word and I shall" she hugged him and said "yes you are strong, much more than you believe ciel if you show kindness they will show it back" he nodded and kept those words in his heart, to remain kind as his father ciel always admired his father and looked up to him wanting to be a man who is as great as he was, maybe even greater that's what ciels goal was and one he knew he could achieve, he didn't want to be rich famous marry someone who was gorgeous he just wanted to be a man like his father, kind, strong, true and honest
