chapter 2

Chapter 2

The four friends had woken up rather happily the monday morning. The morning went rather well. There was a looming cloud of dread above their heads as they got ready but other ten that it seemed like every other normal teenager's day back at school.

Well...a teenager who just so happened to know about a prophecy which basically predicted the destruction of the dark fae, or the reason to why the humans ended to be separated from an entirely different species.

But other then that they were doing their work whilst having breakfast, checking over their schedules and talking about the classes that they had that day. They knew that they could not escape from the prophecy for that long, as others who know about it were at school and would probably question them.

The routine that the twins had gotten themselves into was rather abruptly disturbed as the phone rang. The twins were still knowing that Hazel would answer it. Not many people knew that they were there in the first place, so the phone was obviously not for them. Laylian and Sylvester didn't make a move either but that was simply because this was not their house, even though they stayed there enough for it to be their home.

Hazel came rushing into the living room in her dressing gown. She was busy out in the garden this morning in her Pyjamas and making sure the plants were alright . She picked the phone up after she gave a sigh and said with a slight cheer "speaking?" there was a moment of silence as the person on the other side spoke. "Yes they're here-" Hazel pulled the phone away from her ear before looking at the twins "it's your parents." Hazel held the phone out for one of them to take.

The twins shared an almost annoyed look, much to the confusion fo the fae. The twins didn't hate their parents what so ever, but their parents weren't exactly the most involved in their lives. Tyrell got up from where he was sat on the other sette and took the phone gently off Hazel, Kelso switched seats with Laylian so she was closer to the phone, in other circumstances they would have put it on speaker, though the humans thought the fae would be able to hear it anyway.

"Hello?" Tyrell asked politely into the phone. He could hear the mutterings of His mother, Lorraine Emberforth as she talked to their father, Oscar Emberforth. Tyrell sighed and exclaimed loudly into the phone "Mam!" Which caused the conversation on the other end to stop and a sweet voice was heard on the other end.

"Tyrell honey! How are you? Are you good? Is Kelso okay? Is she there with you?" Lorraine hurried with her questions. Tyrell shared a small smile with his twin, they could imagine Lorraine's brown curls bouncing as she talked away to them.

"Yes mam she's here and we're fine." Tyrell said calmly as he played with the sleeve of his blazer, though it was cold outside it was rather warm in the house and it was making Tyrell rather uncomfortable.

"Are you sure? You've been doing your work? You've made plenty of friends?" Lorraine continued to bombard Tyrell with more questions then he could answer in a minute. He was finding it difficult to keep up with what she was asking.Tyrell wasn't really a quick talker, he could talk a lot and have long conversations but it was Kelso who was able to keep up with their mother's chatting.

"yes,yes..." Tyrell muttered when he had the opportunity to get a word in, he was tapping his foot, a sign of restlessness which did not go unnoticed by Sylvester. Sylvester could what all of what was happening on the phone and was strangely reminded of Devin, who could be good competition against Lorraine's words per minute.

"No need to sound so cheerful love. Is your sister this cheerful too?" Lorraine asked grumpily as she heard the tone of voice her son used. She was rather oblivious to the feelings her children had towards her always on the move lifestyle and the involvement she had in their lives. Their parents phoned every few months, their cousins were more like parents To Kelso and Tyrell then Lorraine and Oscar were.

"do you want to talk to her?" Tyrell said , he felt out of breath from just hearing his mothers gasps for air after her vast array of questions were thrown into the phone. Kelso perked up a little bit, though her hands gestured in a 'no' sign her eyes were bright with the hope she got to talk to her mother.

"That would be lovely...your father says good job getting out of this one..." Lorraine had a slightly less enthusiastic tone then she had before. Tyrell could hear his father chuckling int he background, laughing when he was mentioned. Tyrell slowly got up with a simple 'okay' before handing the phone to Kelso

"Good luck." Tyrell whispered rather quietly so that his mother wouldnt' be able to hear on the phone. Tyrell returned to his seat next to Sylvester who wrapped his arm comfortably around Tyrell, offering his comfort after that rather short but very full conversation.

"Hey mam, " Kelso said into the phone, her tone wasn't the happiest but it was in no way as sad as Tyrell's . Laylian had moved back to her original seat, though she could hear perfectly well from where she was, it was more in order to be there for Kelso then to improve her hearing ability.

"Hello dear! You sound grumpy too...any particular reason?" Lorraine asked almost sarcastically. She was getting the feeling that her children just didn't want to talk to her, which made little sense to her considering how little they interacted. Lorraine thought that they would be ecstatic to hear from her , eager to talk about what had happened the past three months.

"yeah we have school soon." Kelso said as a simple explanation. Its true that school was somewhat putting a downer on her, she knew that she would need to face the music that was high school and forget yesterday. No matter how heavenly yesterday was, the nightmare that was school was bound to interrupt her daydream.

"Soon? I'm sorry i phoned at a difficult time! How soon is soon?"Lorraine tried to rush as she wanted to get the amin reasons he was calling out of the way. She hadn't even considered that it would be time for her children to go to school since she was currently in a different time zone.

"like-fifteen minutes."Kelso said with a quick look to the clock which showed an incorrect time, she had grown to add a few minutes onto what the face said. Though this did mean that she was rather panicked as she realized how close they were to being late.

"well...I was phoning as your father and I were planning to pay you a visit! You dont' have anything planned for this weekend do you? So we can have a family outing?" Kelso's eyes were widening and brightening at the idea of going out with her whole family. They had done this once or twice since the twins started to live with their cousins but the trips usually ended up rather badly. The twins tried their best to forget what had happened int he past with these trips , in hopes that they wouldn't repeat in the future.

"really? No we don't have anything planned...really." Kelso looked towards Tyrell who had his face in his hands and was looking rather depressed. He wasn't really the happiest to hear that they were being visited by their parents. Since they were the ones who gave him life he felt compelled to love them deeply, but he hardly knew them.

"Perfect! We'll see you on friday!" Oscar said as he stole the phone from his wife , sounding in a bit of a hurry as hespoke extremely quickly and loudly. Kelso could hear a lot of rustling in the background, along with Lorraine's complaining.

" "okay see you then! Love you" Kelso said as she started to put the pone down and grab her bag with her other hand.

Tyrell was quick to follow her actions and exclaimed "Love you!" loud enough for his parents to hear.

Before Kelso had successfully put the phone down they could hear a "-bye!" from their parents before they had to hang up and run out the door. Their fae friends following behind with very confused expressions.
