Part 12: Christa's Perspective: Worst for Worst? A lover becomes a Tyrant!

Well, that was unexpected. Battleborn, the one I recently started dating, looks like his twin brother. He's wearing a dark suit, his glasses, his skin is pale, and his eyes are glowing red. Something isn't right here... Battleborn looked at his class while I was in mid thought. "Class, I think I should teach you a new move instead of working with what we've been practicing." he says with a sly smirk. And, to be honest, I kinda blushed at it... He chose two volunteers. "Alright, so, I figured I teach you some more....powerful moves today, class." He demonstrated what he meant. The class, and myself, all cowered at what he knew. I never knew he could be so...be so....evil... I thought to myself. This wasn't the same Battleborn I fell in love with. No...this was something darker that happened overnight....and whatever happened, I knew I had to stop it. But what can I do to a God who can't even get hurt like the rest of them? I thought hopelessly to myself. I knew something had to be done, but what can I do? I had to get the Olympians to get help. Maybe Uncle Zeus could do something? Just maybe.... "Good job, class. Go on, class dismissed." he dismissed his class then sat at his desk in the far corner of the Arena. "Τι στο καλό?!" I exclaim in Greek at him. (Translation: "What on Earth?!") "Yes, Christa? What is it, my love?" he smirks slyly. "You aren't the same Battleborn I fell in love with....you are something beyond a God." I mutter. "It's something that happens to all Gods, my dear. It's part of life. And it'll stay this way until someone defeats me." he laughs at the thought. Oh gods, no... I think to myself. Battleborn was born with a power no other God had, he could never be defeated in battle. Hence why he took his family name "Battleborn". He's practically made for this! "James..." I decided to use the Mortal name he told me, "You know nobody can defeat you so, you know this won't work..." he looked at me and laughed so evilly I was terrified. "That's exactly my point. Nobody can defeat me. Except one person..." he mumbles "Eh, who am I kidding? You'll never find him!" he smirks. "Who, James?!" I yell. "His name, or their names?" he asks like it's a legitimate question. "Their names? What's that supposed to mean?" I ask curiously. "The people who defeated me was two mortals name Kameron and Douglas. Kameron is my Human form in the mortal world. And Douglas is his friend. They go to your mortal school, DeKalb High School." he says sternly. "W-what?" I stammer. I've met them before, but they defeated James? Impossible.... "If you can convince them, I'll be done for. But, if you can't, Olympus will fall." he laughs. "I'll find them, James. And they'll end you! They will defeat you in it's the last thing I help!" he lowers his guard as I say that. He then stands up and turns around, in anger, I attempt to kill him. (Just saying, I didn't get far.) The dagger breaks over his back, he simply laughs and I run out of the Arena.

Sometime before Lights out...

The rest of the Campers, and I look in the sky as James, or Battleborn, jumps to this "base" he spoke about a while ago. He mentioned it only a few times, but I thought he was bluffing. As he jumps away, I take Nico and we shadow-travel to Indiana, my old home. We just so happened to be in front of my old house too. Great. Well, at least we have a place to live for the time being. I think to myself. My mom walks out of the house. "Christa?" she asks, "Is it really you?" she says as she hugs me. "Yeah, mom. We need a place to stay while we're on a quest." I say lightly. "I remember the first time your father brought his children on a quest. It was Nico and Hazel, I believe." she says as she looks at Nico. "Mom, Nico's here too. He's the only one I trust." I say. "What about James?" she asks. All I do is look down, tears hitting the ground, "He....he spoke about Gods who turn corrupt....I think it's his time..." I don't want to admit it, but it's the truth. "Come on in, darling." she says gently, hugging me, "We'll get this done with." She leads us into the house, and I go straight up to my old room and curl up in bed.
