*Niall's POV*

Recap
I heard her take a deep breath as if she's about to say the most challenging thing in her life.

"I took off your watch yesterday"

And at that exact line my breathing hitched, I felt my heart stop beating for a moment, my whole world stopped.

It took me a few seconds to actually process what she just said. I didn't know how react to it, but I did the first thing that came into my mind.

Anger.

"Oh really? What are you gonna do now? Judge me?" I spat bitterly.

It wasn't the nicest thing to do. Trust me I know but it was the only thing I can do.

She didn't move, she didn't react to me at all. She just stood there, staring at the going stream.

"I can't judge you on something I once did" she replied quietly. She slowly started back at me, looking at me straight in the eye.

I couldn't believe my ears at that moment, did I just imagine that for a wishful thinking? Or did she just say that? I had no idea.

I could no longer function on what is in my head and what is going on in reality at this moment. Everything was a blur.

My face still showed utter surprise. My eyes were a bit more widened than usual, my mouth was hung open in surprise, my whole face showed surprised emotion.

I closed my mouth and swallowed in fear, in that moment everything seemed to stop.

She sighed, breaking the tension. "Don't give up on yourself Niall, you're stronger than what you think"

And just like that she fixed her posture, then walked slowly passing by my shoulder.

She stopped for a moment, I wasn't facing her and neither was she, but I could tell from the lack of sound of her feet that she stopped,  "If you need anyone you can always contact me" she said softly then continued to walk.

I stood in my place for a few minutes then decided to walk. Ms Lovato, or Demi, was far ahead of me but I could still see her. I trailed of behind her.

Today's Monday, meaning that I had Ms Lovato for my first class. I hope it wouldn't turn out awkward.

I looked at my watch. I took time to process, again, what has happened.

She saw what's under it.

That thought alone made me shiver. But what's worse was that she has also done it before. I don't understand for what reason she would do such a thing, but maybe life isn't as happy as it seems.

Class wasn't as awkward as I imagined, she didn't make anything awkward or showed more (or less) attention towards me. It was the same, as if we went back to square one.

It felt like I'm going in circles, whenever I feel like we did some improvement, we go back to her acting as if I don't exist.

I sighed as I walked back to my locker. I opened my locker to get my bag, but I saw a small piece of paper falling from my locker.
Well this is weird.

I get down and took the paper. I saw the familiar Niall handwriting on it. Another note? Is notes gonna be our thing?

I opened the note

'020 *** ****
Call me whenever you need something.
Don't hesitate please, I'll be here if you
need me.

I check around me seeing if anyone saw, mostly there were students talking.

Then I saw Demi (Ms Lovato) she smiled at me then smirked when she saw the paper in my hand.
I smiled back at her then put the paper in my pocket.

I took my bag then closed the locker and walked out of the school.

"HEY NIALLER"

I turned my head to the sound of that voice. "How many times do I have to tell you not to call me that"

Adam ran to my side "sorry sorry, my bad.
Where you going?"

"Back home"

"Now that you mentioned it, I never actually been to your house"

"That's 'cause I live in apartment not house dumby"

"Geez no need with the words. Who cooks for you?"

You see Adam is the only one who actually knows what's up with my parents, not full details but he knows that they're not there.

"Captain"

Adam hummed in response. I think I'm gonna tell him what happened between me and Ms Lovato but not the watch incident.

And like that as I walked to my apartment I told Adam what happened, and him being the nice dude he actually is listened to me.
