Episode 8: Awakening!

Blake sprinted with all his might toward Diane and Roy's home. He even nearly got ran over by a trailer due to not looking both ways before crossing the street.

"Hey! Knock, will ya?" Roy said as soon as Blake barged into his room. He put down his comic book and saw his worried face. "Blake? What's up? You look as if you just ran away from a zombie."

He took in several deep breaths. "I... sort of... did..."

Roy raised his eyebrows at him. "What?"

"Diane's in trouble! It's our substitute teacher! He has XYZ!" the frightened boy yelled.

"What!" Roy yelled. He sighed and turned his back to Blake. "I knew he was a nutjob, but not like this... But why are you here?"

"Wha... What do you mean why I'm here? Diane needs help!"

Roy narrowed his eyes. "She can handle herself, can't she?" Roy said, walking back to his bed.

"But Roy, she's...!"

"I said she can handle it!" he yelled. Roy pushed Blake out of the room. He landed on the ground on his buttocks against the staircase.

"...She's your only sister..." Blake said in a low, worried tone. He stood up and ran back to where he had left Diane and Silver. If Roy wouldn't save them then it fell on him to do so!

[Meanwhile back in the empty park]

Silver froze their substitute teacher's right arm while Diane burned his left. The two were surprisingly working in tandem despite their earlier argument and opposing elements.

The old man slashed off his arms with a butcher's knife and stepped back. "You two have proven quite the adversaries. Sadly you've yet to see my true powers." His eyes glowed an eerie green as the wind around him started to pick up.

The wind was so fierce that Diane's flames died out in an instant. Both of them were sent flying against trees. Silver spat out blood as he tried to create a shield against the wind but the thing crumbled each time.

"Hu...rricane... forced... winds," Diane said, covering her eyes.

The man picked up his arms and reattached them. The burns from the ice and fire were healed. "You fools pushed me into doing so. Now tell me where the black haired boy is."

Silver closed his eyes and focused all of his energy into his hands. The wind hitting his started to rapidly drop into subzero temperatures. He unleashed the energy, sending a concentrate laser at the man.

The substitute dodged but the entire area behind him became a giant glacier. His left arm was nicked and the ice spread throughout his body.

"Nice!" Diane said as the winds died down.

The man slashed off his left arm once more. "I underestimated you..."

Silver crumpled to the floor. 'Damn. Sorry Diane. Seems that I'm out of juice for the time being...'

Diane raised her arms as the man advanced toward Silver. "Where do you think you're going?" she questioned, shooting out scorcing flames from her fists. The man watched the right side of the park caught on fire.

"Fire and Ice. Your elements clashed," the man said, reaching his hand out toward her as she took in a deep breath. He grasped her neck. "Tell me where the boy is."

"No... you'll kill me anyway."

The old man grinned. "Alright. Then I'll make you watch me devour your boyfriend first. Then I'll eat you."

He tossed Diane into the glacier, causing ice to cover her body.

Silver opened one eye and stretched his hand out. 'Diane...'

The man grinned. "You're the boy of the video. Yet you seem to have lost the ability to speak. Wonder why that is. No matter. At least no one will hear ya scream for your dear life. Now, if only I knew where the red-head and dark haired young man are."

"I'm here!" Blake yelled, trying to hide the fear in his voice. "Step away from Silver. Now!"

The old man grinned. "Ah. So you've returned." He glanced around. "But it seems that you didn't bring the red-head with you." He sighed. "How tragic. I could use the extra iron."

"Roy... couldn't make it."

Diane melted the ice around her and stood up. "So that's how it is... No matter. The three of us should be able to do it."

Blake's lips quivered.

Silver kept his head down. 'If only we could...'

The black haired young man closed his eyes shut and tried to think of what his powers might be, but nothing was coming to mind.

"L...Listen, Blake! You have to focus your energy in one spot if you want to help us!"

The old man stretched both arms out. "Hurricane Push!" he yelled. All three of them were sent flying as trees snapped like twigs.

Diane and Blake yelled for their lives. Silver kept calm and held his hands out toward them as they were carried upward. The substitute teacher had created a tornado!

Blake closed his eyes. He could barely believe that they were still alive. If it weren't for them being XYZ users then surely their bodies would've been torn limb by limb by now.

Silver signaled something as the three were carried higher. The trees around the park flew into the tornado. Even the rooftops of nearby houses started to make their way toward them.

'This is bad!'

'I know' Blake signaled back.

Diane stared at them enviously. If only I could communicate with them like that...

'Tornados are the result of cold and warm air meeting. If we change the balance then maybe we can stop it,' Silver said.

'Warm?' Blake said, glancing at Diane.

"I know what you're thinking!" the substitute teacher yelled. The three looked down at him in confusion. "It's a solid plan, but how strong are your abilities to be able to stop it!"

In seconds, the tornado widened and became much more powerful. The veins in his hands were more vivid and he raised his arms high. Diane and Blake yelled once more and Silver now lost his composure, closing his eyes tightly in fear.

They were sent above clouds at a height that would kill any man without a parachute.

Diane's eyes started to close. "I'm getting... weaker..."

Silver's body stopped resisting. His arms and legs moved freely as if he had given up. Blake looked at the two in disbelief.

'Is it really going to end this way...' he thought.

The substitute teacher laughed in satisfaction. "Yes. Your wonderful powers shall soon be mine!"

Blake closed his eyes tightly. 'No... No... I won't... let that happen...!'

His eyes opened and glowed radiantly. A single spark emerged from his body and shortly after, a dozen sparks to a hundred started to emerge rapidly.

"Tornado Drop!" the old man yelled. He lowered his hands expeditiously. The tornado began to work in the opposite way. It was starting to bring them down at insane speeds.

A blue line began from Blake's legs and branched into a dozen more blue lines which eventually filled his body. Suddenly, his body vanished in front of Diane and Silver's eyes.

"What!" the old man yelled.

Diane and Silver's jaws dropped. "Where'd he go?" he yelled.

"You want my powers, right?" Blake asked, appearing below him.

The old man shook as his head slowly lowered. He was greeted by Blake's furious cerulean eyes.

Blake focused more of his power into his hands. "H...Here, have them!" A wave of lightning ripped the ground and cut the necromancer in half.

The necromancer let out a painful scream. "Impossible!" the old man managed to say despite his organs being torn in half. "This shouldn't be... You shouldn't know how to use your powers!"

Blake smiled. It was the first time since he had awakened that he felt self assured. "Seems that you miscalculated!"

The man pushed himself up with his arms and tendrils began to form between both halves. "You may no longer have pristine powers. But no matter. I shall soon have control over ice-lightning-fire!"

"Shut up!" Blake yelled. He clenched his right fist and gave the old man an electrifying uppercut. The energy from the punch dispersed into large sparks.

The man's chin was red and burning. He looked down at where Blake was. His eyes widened in the realization that he sensed Blake's power behind him.

"Lightning Battle Axe!" Blake yelled. His electrified leg destroyed the man's ribs and lower abdomen. He screamed painfully once more.

"You tried to kill me!" Blake yelled, punching him downward. "You tried to kill my friends!" he added, punching him diagonally upwards. "Now you... Are gonna pay! Lightning Pyth-"

Diane touched Blake's shoulder, cutting him off. "I think that's enough. Allow us to handle the rest. Go and rest."

Blake touched his forehead. Diane gave him a knowing grin as if she knew this was going to happen. He began to descend. A slide of ice formed and Blake slid safely down and rolled over into the grass.th

The zombie deer rose from the ground which was littered in ice and charged at Blake with all its might.

Silver slashed the deer's head off and froze the body completely. 'There. Now to help Diane.'

He watched as Diane charged at the man whose halves now laid in the floor. Each of them attacked one half and pulled them apart, preventing the man from reforming once more.

Silver tossed one half into Diane's inferno and Diane the other into the glacier.

"Amazing," Blake said, sitting down next to a tree. "Their powers aren't working against each other..."

"No! Let me go!" the old man yelled as he slashes the air with razor wind. "Unhand me now you ruffians!"

"As if!" Diane said, grinning as she walked into her inferno. She punched her half's mouth repeatedly, burning it away.

"Noooo!" he cried.

Silver smiled at the half stuck in the glacier. He cracked his fists and did the same as Diane but with ice. The body was encased in a heavy layer of ice. Silver threw the thing from the highest peak of the over three foot glacier, shattering the body.

"Lightning, Fire, and Ice. Reminds me of those classic rpgs," Roy said, chuckling as he appeared. He stared at the zombie deer as they turned into dust. "What a creepy power."

"Yeah," Blake said, nodding as he leaned against a tree. "I hope that we never have to..." His vision grew shaky as his eyes drooped down.

"Rest for now," Diane said, walking over to him once she finished making sure that her half of the necromancer was well charred.

Blake closed his eyes as a smile dotted his face.

[Hours Later]

"Damn those punks," a voice called out as several pieces reattached. The old man stared at his remaining half. Diane had managed to completely reduce the other one into ash. "It'll take me forever to get healed."

"I was certain that I felt his powers coming from here," a voice rang.

The necromancer spun around and saw a golden haired young man dressed in a white suit make his way toward him.

What remained of his mouth opened wide. "You're the other one..."

The young man made a disgusted face. "Tell me. Did you see a young man who resembles me?"

"You mean a young man called Silver? Gold!"

He grinned. "So you're familiar with us. Yes. Silver. Have you seen him?"

"Yes. That frosty brat and that hot headed girl did this to me. Them and that black haired young man..." He stepped forward. "I'm only alive because that boy froze parts of my body."

"Tell me. Where is he?"

"He... well I don't know where he lives. But he attends the local high school."

Gold stepped forward and grasped his head tightly. He grinned deviously. "Thank you. Now then, allow me to finish off what my darling younger brother couldn't!" Golden flames enveloped the old man, reducing his body into ash. "Now, that the trash has been taken care of, time to find Silver."
