Latina along with the rest of the scouts are currently staying in a house, not at the base, considering the issue with the military police, and that they were trying to find out the secrets they were hiding

Latina was currently sitting in her room, at the desk, reading a book Donna gave her as a present for her birthday, when she first entered the guild as a child, it was called 'the beast and the prince'

And yes, I wanted to have this book in the story, cause I couldn't find any anime in online with books actually in the story, with pictures of it as well

' even if now I can read again, I still love this book, i've read it so many times but I still don't get bored of it, must be the pictures inside' she thought ' though I found the story sad when I managed to start reading again...'her smile turned slight sad

" I'm sorry sir, but I refuse to be watched like I'm some child, I can take care of myself" she frowned, standing tall

Even though deep down, she was nervous, a small drop of sweat slipped down her cheek " wow. That so" he walked closer to her ' well done Latina you idiot! Standing up to the captain you moron!!' She exclaimed in thought

" well-" before she could finish her sentence, she was thrown over his shoulder " what the?!- what are you doing?!" She exclaimed " if you shout any louder you'll wake the cadets" he said, not caring about what he was doing, walking over to her bed " p-please put me down!" She stuttered, she was then tossed down on her bed, but what she didn't expect, was him to climb on top of her, pinning her arms down " what are you?!-" just then, one of his hands holds both wrists up, while one of them lifts her chin up

I asked one of my friends about finding an image with levi holding someone by the chin, this is one I received, and if anyone asked, I almost had one of those fangirl nosebleeds I think, I mean who can blame me at this point just look at him!!!!!

" clearly you can protect yourself in the situation like this" he said ' what the hell?!?! What is he doing?!' Her face went flustered, her while Body moved on its own, but her eyes were shut the whole time, When she open them, she was on top

" I can protect myself pretty good thank you very much!" She didn't realise what she was doing at first, When she did however her face went completely flush and she fell backwards, he tried to catch her but ended up falling as well, both grunted when they hit the floor, ending up in the postion they were before on the bed, But this time no one was pinning anyone, both turning red they stared at each other, before they both leaned away, standing up and turning from eachother "Don't stay up too late. Good night" he immediately walked Towards the door and out the room before she could even speak, as soon as he left her face when flush again

The group are in a small home, tiding up the place. "Hey, Sasha, you even tried to steal any more food and will have captain Levi cut you up into Bite sized pieces. Got it?." He threatened, as him, Marco, Zane, Armin, and Sasha enter the house, making Eren, drake, Grayson and Connie look over at the door

"Who me? I would never... probably," Sasha says, and Jean groans before setting one of the things he was carrying down on a side table.'bet That they were warning her about stealing food again' drake hum quietly, and Eren sends Jean a ticked off look."Hey! Did you guys wipe the mud off your shoes before you came in?!" he exclaims, and Jean looks at him."Huh? Are you kidding me?" he sighs, and Eren grits his teeth and grips the broom in his hands tighter before jogging over to Jean who sets down the sack he was carrying on his shoulder. "Do you not see all this stuff we're carrying?"

"You idiot... do you really think an excuse like that is going to play with Captain Levi?! Bad enough I had to make your bed for you this morning! Now you pull this crap?!"

Jean growls before shouting at Eren, "Oh, shut it! Who are you?! My mom now?!" Grayson raise an eyebrow in amusement at the argument before looking over as Latina, Mikasa, Historia, Ymir, Bertolt, and Reiner enter the room with firewood in hand. "We're back," Mikasa announces, and everyone looks over at the four that just entered

"Wait, you were chopping firewood?!" Armin gasps while rushing over to Latina and Mikasa."Gotta stay in shape somehow." Mikasa said while Latina nodded agreeing with her " gotta be ready for anything"

"You got grabbed by a Titan! You should be in bed recovering! And Latina you fractured a rib!" Armin exclaimed as they two walked by

"I think you're wasting your breath. I caught them doing sit-ups earlier, too," Eren mutters, and Jean scowls

."Oh, so you're a nag and a spy?!" he shouts, and Eren looks at him."What?! How is that spying?! They was right out in the open!" Eren exclaims, and he and Jean start arguing again and Grayson was laughing his ass off .'This shouting is not helping my concussion' Latina frown and rub her temples as a headache starts to form

" Hey sis you okay?" Lizzy asked walking in with the cleaned laundry, Latina placed the wood down " headache coming on, On top of that I'm still tired from last night" Latina mumbled " i'll get some headache pills" lizzy said rushing off

Latina glance around the room in slight annoyance, but soon find herself smiling and chuckling at everything going on: Jean and Eren continue to argue while Marco and Zane trying to break it up, Connie and Sasha are taking out bread from a crate, Armin is checking up on Mikasa, historia and Ymir talking, and Bertolt, Grayson and Reiner watch Jean and Eren argue, the two blonds smirking in amusement

'They haven't changed one bit, I like that' she smiled.'These guys are still the same like the cadet Corps, I hope they never change' she closed her eyes for a few seconds before a pillow is thrown at her.

"Thanks, lizzy...but did you have to hit me in the face?" She mumbled through the pillow " sorry...here the pills, Also go and lie down" she said passing them to her sister "thank you sis" Latina says taking the pill bottle, walking over to the sofa

"Funny... it almost feels like we're back in the Training Corps, doesn't it?" Sasha asks, and all the arguing and talking ceases."It does," Bertolt agrees softly."Chaos... makes you wonder why they chose us for the new Levi and Mike squads. Protecting Eren, Historia, Ymir, Reiner, Bertolt, and Latina is such an important mission," Armin murmurs.

"Because we're all so talented I assume," Sasha states, and Latina smirks into the pillow when she heard the sound of her bag moving.

'She totally stuffed some food in her bag' Armin gasps quietly before sighing. "Sasha, what did you just shove in your bag?"

"It's something that's definitely not bread." She said

"Really? What did I tell you?" Jean scoffs, walking over

"C'mon put it back" Connie says

"Hey! Can we focus here? We've got a finish cleaning before the captain gets back!" Eren said, The two girls, Ymir and historia, Who didn't get involved in the conversation then noticed the captain walking along with Mike "Uh oh..." Latina muttered, from where she was resting, she still felt awkward around him thanks for last night

" here we go..." Ymir smirked

"What's all the commotion?" Levi questions, and the arguing goes on for a bit longer before stopping altogether.'Uh oh... something's going to happen'

"-done this now" Connie sentence finished

"You know we have to conserve our Rations" armin remained holding the bread she stuffed in her bag, But she was just shrugging Like she didn't know how I got in there "You really think you keep pulling this crap! Well I'm sick of-!" Jean stopped what he was saying, he and the group then noticed his presence, watching as Levi rubs underneath the table before lifting up his hand and looking at the girls friends

" I'm quite certain I gave you enough time," he states, making some of them cringe in fear, eren just face palming . Levi clicks his tongue and pulls a rag from his pocket to wipe off his hand. "Never mind, we can discuss your utter failure at a later date."

"Eren, Hange is anxious to get the experiment underway," he informs him."Right. Yes, sir," Eren responds."Reiner, Ymir, Bertolt," Mike states, and the two men and woman look at him. "I need to talk to you about your Titan forms."Bertolt and Reiner nod, Ymir just shrugged " sure"

Latina gets up from one of the sofa"I'm tagging along to. I need some fresh air," she state while standing up and stretching out."But you should rest, Latina!" Armin cries out, and she shake my head."It's not like I'm going to be doing anything. I just want to watch the experiment," she say, sending him a reassuring smile. "I'll be fine."Levi turns around and walks over to the door

"The rest of you, get your gear. Hange and her team brought spare horses with her so grab one as well," he states before leaving the house."I'll see you in a bit" Latina says, before waving and making her way over to the door.

Time skip
No one Pov

Eren's Titan form lets out a deafening roar, .then face-plants into the ground, making Hange rush over to the ledge of the cliff everyone up there was on to look down. "What's wrong, Eren?! Get up! The future of humanity depends on you, dammit! Get up!" she exclaims, her eyebrows furrowing slightly."Third time. And his form's changed again. He's not even ten-meters tall, and some of his body lacks muscle. Plus, Eren's scrawny ass is hanging out," Levi points out

."I can see that," Hange states before raising one of her blades. "Eren, think you can still move? Give us a signal or something, will ya?!"

"Eren!" Mikasa shouts from below us and jumps off her horse."Mikasa, wait up!" Jean calls out as she runs over to Eren."Great. The brat's at it again. Off to the rescue. She never learns, does she?" Levi utters, and Hange frowns."There's no response. We're done here," she states before jumping off the cliff and using her gear to glide down.

They stand at the back of the Titan's neck as Hanji tries to remove Eren out of the nape. "Hot! Think you can ease up on the steam a little?!" Hanji shrieks in a bit of pain as Mikasa yells. "Hey, be careful with him. Can't you see his bleeding?!" As Hanji continues to pull him more, the four notice his face. His eyes were gone and his whole face was just nearly a skull.

"You see his face, morblit?! Sketch! Quick we've gotta get this!"

"Section Commander! Have you no compassion at all?!" Moblit yells as Mikasa raises her blade and slices the muscle off of Eren that was keeping him a hold from his Titan body.

His body and Hanji sent them flying a bit before she lands on her bottom.

She stares at Eren for a moment before she looked down ashamed. "Um. Sorry about that..." Levi was still on the cliff, as he watched the whole thing happen before he mutters to himself. "Not the outcome would hoped for."He looks over to his left. "...Where still a long way from being able to use erens titan to see the wall."

Armin was behind him as he looks at his captain and nods. "Yes... we've known all along this would be like grasping at proverbial straws.."

" The plans strategically sound. And simple in theory." Levi replies, "All we need is to geteten there. This could still work. But it's going to depend on him. "

"Experiment's over! All troops, with draw at once!" Hanji shouted.

"Withdrawing! go! Make sure we weren't seen!" A soldier yelled to Jean.

"Right." Jean nods before him and the rest take off.Armin walks away from Levi, Mike, and Latina, and the captain rests a hand on his hip before turning slightly and looking at Historia who's walked over

"You, ride back to the house with Latina and Eren. Mike and I are going with Hange's group. We're headed for Trost," he tells her."Sir," she responds in acknowledgment, and Levi's eyes narrow as he watches her walk away with Latina

. The memory of what Pastor Nick told him flashes in his head.'You must find them With all haste. They both hold the key. The first one may know things we understand but poorly..'

He watches them leave as the Titan body from below deteriorate. Far off, though, two mysterious people look through a telescope at the erupting steams.

In trost

"I see... Another failure, then." Erwin says. Him, Donna and Levi are in a room while Erwin is looking at a paper. "Imagine if it had worked. We could've plug the hole in shiganshina in less than a day."

"What we need is information." Levi says as Erwin looks away from the paper. "It's not like the books on the subject. That would make things too easy. We do have Christa. No. Historia reiss. Maybe she can give us some insight into the nature of the walls walls "Erwin watches Levi for a moment before turning away. "We did some digging and found a report about her life before the Cadets. The illegitimate Daughter of Lord reiss. Hers was not a happy child hood....Lord reiss Is the key to all this somehow. Why would a mere regional Lord know the secrets of the walls?" The woman felt sorry for the girl

Elsewhere, Pastor Nick is sitting on a desk, not wearing his church clothes and has his hands on the desk and his eyes are closed. A knock is heard and he looks over at the door with slight worry.

Latina pov

I continued cutting the vegetables for dinner, since I learn how to cook them in the creeds guild, I thought I'd help out with cooking" Captain Levi and Squad Leader Mike came back this morning, but when do you think hanji will return?" Connie asks from beside me while peeling his own potato."I don't know really, must be important," I say, finishing cutting the lettuce before brushing it into the pot with the knife and cutting board . 'I still wonder why they were needed in Trost last night.'

'Something might be wrong'.I snap out of my thoughts as Eren appears in the entryway of the kitchen. "What are you doing?! You should still be in bed," Mikasa scolds him."I'm all right. I already slept a whole day," he mutters before walking into the kitchen and standing next to me at the table. "Besides, it's my fault the plan got shelved, so the least I can do is help."

"No, you tried, didn't you? Don't beat yourself up."

"Mikasa's right, Eren," I say, tilting my head to the right to look at him as he picks up a carrot and a knife. "The plan may not be happening right now, but at least we're learning about what you can do. Plus, we also have Ymir, Reiner and Bertolt who can help as well, so once we know your limits, I'm sure we'll get the go-ahead. Just don't put too much pressure on yourself, all right?"He stays silent, and I glance over to my left at Connie as he grips the knife in his hand a bit tighter

before saying, "All I care about is getting a chance to bring down the Beast Titan. That hairy bastard took everything from me. I want it dead."His hand trembles slightly, and I rest one of mine over it while Eren looks at Connie with a thoughtful look. Connie gasps quietly and looks at me, a small frown decorating my face. "Whoever the Beast Titan is will get what's coming to em. They've caused enough problems as it is, and they took away those most important to you. I'll help you get your chance to take them down," I say, and he nods with a small blush.

The door to the house opens and in walks Drake and Zane. "We found some herbs for the soup," Zane announces, holding up a small basket for us to see."Thanks, Zane," Marco says, walking over and taking the basket from him before joining Historia who's helping me by tending to the pot of soup.

Connie looks outside before sighing. "It's about time to switch lookouts," he states, placing down the knife and potato before looking at Mikasa. "You ready?"She nods in response, and they walk out of the kitchen and leave the house.

I look back down at the potato I started working on and continue peeling it before placing it to the side. Marco, Zane, and drake excuse themselves to go and find more stuff for the soup, leaving just Historia, Eren, and me in the kitchen."Must be nice," Historia states after a few seconds, and I look over my shoulder at her at the same time as Eren does. " what is?" I asked

"You and the others know what you want even if it won't be easy to get."

'Why does She sounds... lost' I frown as she keeps her back to us."I'm glad Ymir's still with us, but I fell like I've lost my purpose. I don't know what I'm fighting for anymore," she whispers, and Eren fully turns his body to face her."protecting her is something to fight for," he states, and she hums."Maybe... at the time, I didn't understand what she was doing. I just wanted her to be safe. Since then, I've been thinking... when she almost left, Ymir chose her own path. I have no right to change that. She doesn't need me to."

"Finally, about time you started talking again," Eren chuckles quietly, and she looks back at him curiously. "When we got here, you told us your story, but then, you just kept your mouth shut. Stopped smiling too."

"Why should I bother?" Historia asks, and Eren lets out a sound of confusion. While I looked shocked "Sorry, but the sweet little Christa you thought you knew, well... that girl isn't me anymore."I smirk faintly and turn around, leaning my back against the table and crossing my arms. "It's About damn time," I state, and both Historia and Eren look at me.

"There's a difference between true kindness and trying to be a suck-up. I didn't care too much for your old self to be quite honest."Her eyes widen a fraction, and Eren chuckles. "I'm siding with Latina here. Your kindness was unnatural and, frankly, exhausting," he tells her, and she frowns and looks down sadly

."Oh..." she whispers, and Eren and I share a grin before I walk over to her."But I like this new you- the actual you. You seem more... comfortable and normal this way. You're not Christa Lenz; you're Historia Reiss," I say, and Eren nods."Now you're just a normal girl. Stupidly honest maybe, but still normal enough," he says, and she gasps quietly.

" hey, we both hid who we really are, so let's promise, no more secrets between each other, Kay?" I said, holding out my hand to her, She hesitated but then took it " yeah" historia then smiled, then hugged me

Eren trails off before his eyes widen in remembrance. "How did I forget that?" I looked over at him in confusion' forget what?' before looking over my shoulder at the sound of the front door opening. "Hange's back! Report to the main room!" Eld calls out, and I look at Historia and Eren."Well, we shouldn't keep our superiors waiting. Let's go," I state before walking out of the kitchen.I enter the main room of the house where Mike, Levi, and Hange stand along with Moblit, two members of Hange's team, and the rest of my friends. 'Hange seems really upset' I note the solemn expression on her face.

I join drake and kanna's side as Eren and Historia join us. "What's this about, Hange?" Mike asks, crossing his arms over his chest with a frown.Hange stays silent for a second before looking at Levi and Mike. "I'm sorry. Minister Nick... he was murdered. Today, in the Trost barracks," she says

Flash back

No one pov

Earlier, Pastor Nick lays dead on the floor as Hanji eye's were widen. "Hey!" A Military Police pushes her away as the police sneered at her. "Messing with the crime scene, scout?  to get any closer"

"This isn't your jurisdiction a simple robbery and murder.," Another police says, closing the door. " there've been a string of em lately." Hanji shakes her head and shrieks. "I'm not buying it! His nails were torn out-!" A military police grabs the collar of her coat and growls. "Which unit are you in?"Moblit rips removes the police's hand away from Hanji and states lowly. " Section Commander Hanji, fourth squad. and im ox Moblit Berner." The soldier looks between the two before scoffing. "Heh. You know, when your whole branch is garbage, being higher ranked doesn't make you smell any sweeter. Listen. That man wasn't killed by a titan. One person killed another. This isn't scout business."

"Hanji then noticed something about the man "You're with the first until your squad" She muttered as Moblit added. " funny.what're The Capitals MPs doing down here in trost?" The soldier furrowed his eyebrows at the two. "What's so strange about it? Somebody has to get the real work done while you people run around playing soldier." Hanji looks at him and lets out a breath

. "Yes. Your Completely right. I see now I am worthless compare to you. Simply being in your presence is an honour. Please, allow me to shake your hand!"She grab's the soldier's hand. "Alright... you said it was a robbery?... Poor Nick...I didn't realise he even had anything that was worth stealing..." The soldier looks away from her and answers. "Of course, he did. Everybody knows the church makes all its little trinkets out of iron." Hanji gasped

"Are you saying Nick was affiliated with the order of the walls?!"

"What are you playing at?"

"He was a friend of mine, that's why I rush down here..." Hanji said, giving the soldier crocodile tears.

"Except.... I thought he was a craftsman... Making chairs or something...I even put that on his application to board here..." The soldier gives her a look. "Let go!"— She interrupts him though. "Still. I suppose this is a reminder that we never really know people as well as we think we do..."

"Enough! Let go!"He rips his hand away from Hanji as she goes and apologizes. "Of course sorry.!" She gives them a salute. "Well then, i wish you  luck with the investigation. When you catch the culprit will you tell them something for me? You may feel that what you did to him was justified, perhaps even righteous. Well, I don't give a single shit what your motivation was. I promise you, I will personally see to it that you are tortured, and the horrors visited upon you will be greater than any my friends suffered. Yes. Far greater. Please pass that along. Will leave you to it."Then, Moblit and her walk off as the boy questions her commander. "The pastor. You think they killed him?—"

She nods and states. "Yes I do... that mans name was Djel Sannes. the skin on his fist was split open. Nick was tortured by the interior Military Police... And then murdered..."

Back to Latina's pov

"I figured that the church would want to get their hands on Nick when they learned he was cooperating with the Scouts. That's why I hid his identity and had him stay in the barracks. I never imagined they would use soldiers to kill him," Hange tells us before bowing her head. "This was my fault. I should've been more careful."Silence overtakes the room, and Levi picks up his cup of tea by the rim and sips it. "They tortured him..." Armin whispers, and all of everyone looks at him. "Presumably for information. Did they just want to know what he passed onto us?"

"Most likely," Levi states while setting his cup down, "but these are the interior MP's we're dealing with, so you can bet there's something deeper at work here."

" now, how many nails was the good pastor missing?" Levi asked, She gasps slightly, "Uh?..". ". How many? You did see, right?" Levi questions.

"I only caught a glimpse of him, but all the nail beds I saw were empty," she explains, and Levi's eyes flicker to meet my gaze in a mutual understanding."People who talk, talk after one," Levi tells the others, and I lean back and nod."It's pointless to rip off more than one nail because the person being tortured isn't going to speak. Seems the First Interior Squad is a bit amateurish on their torture techniques," I say, muttering the last part to myself."I'm impressed," Levi says breathily with a stoic expression, making everyone look at him. "I didn't think highly of Minister Nick, but whatever his faults, he stuck by his beliefs until the end."

Hange averts her gaze sadly and shakily grips her knee. Levi lifts his head and looks at Historia. "Which means: they have no idea we know about the Reiss family," he states before shifting his gaze again, "but the government is up to something, and we've got a target on our backs."The front door of the house suddenly opens, and we look over as a woman with short, dark brown hair enters the house. "Captain Levi, sir, I have a message from Commander Erwin and Donna," she announces, walking over and handing him a note that he starts to read. "I went to tell them about Minister Nick, but he gave me this and sent me off."Levi looks up from the note at all of us. "Get your gear, now! We're leaving," he orders while standing up. "Make it look like we were never here."Nearly everyone at the table gasps, but I narrow my eyes. 'The only reason we'd be leaving in a hurry is if our location has been compromised. I have a bad feeling this is the work of the MPs, I hope mom and dad have information on them soon.' I frown before getting out of my seat and leaving the room.

Time skip

" that was close. "Connie says while they looked at the house from the cliff, which was being roamed by mp's outside and inside" yeah. What if they had caught us?" Grayson said " do you think they would rip our nails off?" Connie asked " oh heck, Connie don't put that image in my brain" Zane mumbled horrified

Armin turns and looks at Levi. "How did Commander Erwin know they were headed here?" he asks, and Levi glances at him before looking away."The government's passed down some new orders. There's been a freeze on all Survey Corps activity outside the wall. We're to hand over Eren, Latina and Historia," he explains, and I walk over to Reiner and Bertolt."Even though we're under protective custody, it seems the government still doesn't know the truth about Ymir, Bertolt and me," Reiner says lowly, and I nod, before looking at Eren and Historia. "What could they want with you, Eren and Historia though?" Bertolt asks, and I shrug."I'm not certain, but I don't think I want to find out."

"Captain, I didn't have time to tell you, but some MPs came for the Commanders right after I left them," the brown-haired woman from before states, catching our attention."What? Like they're some kind of criminals?!" Hange exclaims."They're bringing this fight out into the open. No more working from the shadows," Levi says, ' that's the guild back homes thing! ' I mentally complain

."They're going to protect the Walls' secrets at any cost," Hange utters with a frown before putting on a thoughtful look. "But why? And what exactly are they after Eren, Latina and Historia for? They don't want them dead, so what are they planning?"
