Hinako and Yanio

Atem gasped and groaned as his eyes opened slowly, his vision slowly starting to become clear. As he awoke, he realized that a heavy weight was on his chest. Looking down, he noticed that the other three had landed right on top of him. He let out an annoyed groan as he shoved the others off of him successfully. Finally able to breath, he let out a content sigh as he stood up. Then he looked around and his eyes widened.

The room was quite large as many bright balls of light continued to float around in the space. When he tried to reach for one, a warmth spread throughout his body, even as his hand went through the ball of light.

Hearing more groans and gasps, he turned to see that the others had awoken.

"What the hell are those?" Bakura asked as a ball of light started to float towards him.

Backing away, Bakura moved to push Marik towards the light.

"Oh~ Pretty~" Marik purred as he reached out to touch the ball of light, only for it to move out of his grasp.

"Marik, don't touch anything," Seto said with a sigh, "You might defile it with your hands."

"Hello there," a voice said.

The boys jumped and turned to look toward the voice. In place of the voice stood a tanned girl with long black hair and brown eyes. She wore a white silky dress with a gold crown upon her head.

"May I help you guys?" she asked with a raised brow.

"Um, we're not sure," Atem said as he looked down, "Ra sent us here..."

Her lips formed an "o" shape as she nodded. Then she smiled softly as she approached them.

"You must be the darker halves, I presume," she said as she bowed, "Ra has informed me that you're looking to find out everything about your hikaris, along with Seto's other half then?"

Atem's eyes widened before he nodded. The girl smiled softly and nodded.

"Very well," she hummed, "Have a seat."

She snapped her fingers and five chairs appeared out of thin air. As she sat down in a chair, the boys also sat down as well, except for Bakura, who growled.

"Listen, lady," Bakura said, "I don't know who you are, but we don't have time to sit around! My hikari could be dying right now, and all we're doing is just standing and doing nothing!"

At this, she sent a sharp look toward Bakura, who felt shivers run through him.

"Sit down, Bakura," she said sternly.

Bakura bit his tongue as he nodded and sat down.

"Excuse me," Seto interrupted, "But who are you?"

"I am the one who created your other halves," she said, "I am Hinako."

The boys paused, dumbstruck as they tried to wrap their minds around this.

"I'm sorry, but can you please explain?" Atem asked.

Hinako laughed and smiled softly as she shook her head. Then she waved her hand in the air, and the room changed. There were less balls of light, and this time there was another one of her.

"A long time ago, two creators of souls met with Ra to fulfill a prophecy," Hinako said, "Five souls that were split in half, will bring Egypt into a brighter future and finally close the gates to the Death Realm."

"Close the gates to the Death Realm?" Atem questioned.

Hinako nodded.

"Atem, you may have been born from your mother's womb," she said, "But your soul was made by us."

"Us?" he questioned.

Hinako didn't respond as she just looked at her projectory self.

Hinako smiled softly as she hummed softly. The gate opened and in walked another girl with short brown locks of hair and deep green eyes.

"Hello, Yanio," she greeted with a smile.

The short haired girl smiled as she hugged the other.

"I see you've got the souls ready," Yanio said as she looked down.

In front of them were five large balls of light. Yanio pulled away and smiled as she stood next to Hinako.

"Are you ready?" Yanio asked.

Hinako nodded as they placed their hands out towards the souls. Suddenly, their hands started to glow, and the souls started to split into halves. Once they were completely split, Yanio hummed as she took five souls into her hands, each soul starting to become tinted with black. Yanio frowned slightly and sighed.

"What's wrong?" Hinako asked.

"They're becoming dark," she mumbled softly.

"That's good then," Hinako said with a small smile. Then she held the other halves of the souls next to Yanio's hand, "That's why they have their other halves to brighten their days."

Yanio smiled at Hinako and gave a soft  laugh.

"Of course," Yanio said with a nod.

Then she gave a small kiss to Hinako's cheek, before leaving the room, taking the five souls with her.

"The souls that Yanio took," she paused, "Those were you guys' souls. She took them to nurture them in her realm where the Yamis were made..."

Atem looked at Hinako and held a look of puzzlement.

"Were you two in love?" he asked.

Hinako flushed red and coughed awkwardly.

"I... well, yes," Hinako said embarrassed.

"So was she your other half?" he asked with a grin.

"I guess you could say that..." she trailed off with a small smile as she looked down, dreamily.

Atem chuckled and nodded as he watched the flustered soul maker.

"I think it's funny," she hummed, "You guys were never intended to fall in love with your other halves, but it just happened. And your bonds became stronger as you guys did... The same thing happened to us."

The pharaoh smiled as he listened.

"So my love with my hikari was destined since the start," he said quietly.

Hinako smiled.

"Well, when you put it like that," she said, "Then yes. You guys were destined for each other."

Hinako smiled softly before looking back at herself, who was continuing to shape the souls for the hikaris.

"Anyway, after I finished preparing the hikaris' souls, I gave them to Ra for him to raise. Afterall, he did want sons, so I let him raise them in god like ways, which is why they can do the things they do," she said.

"But how did they end up in Jelena?" Marik asked, once more shocking the others at his bright questions.

"Who are you and what have you done with Marik?" Bakura asked.

Marik rolled his eyes and just focused on Hinako's answer.

"Since the hikaris knew their fate and what was to come, they had to be reborn. So, we planted their souls in the wombs of some women of Jelena. In Jelena, they ruled, protected, and trained until the day they would meet you guys," Hinako said, "Of course there have been times when you met, but it was never the right time, so they would have to erase your memory of the meeting."

The boys looked down with furrowed brows.

"Can you explain to us how they can live, even if they've killed themselves?" Atem asked.

At this, Seto's gaze snapped up to look at her.

"Hmn, well, you see," Hinako said, "Your souls are connected, so it's like having two lives between each of you. If you died in the past, you can still come back to life, but if your other half dies, then you die immediately. However, your other half will still be able to come back to life, but will live their life not knowing who you are."

Atem nodded in understanding, while Seto just looked down with a silent comment in mind.

"Can I ask a question?" Bakura asked.

"You already have, but continue," Hinako said.

"How come Joey doesn't look like Seto?" he asked.

Hinako grinned.

"Joey and Seto are a special set," she grinned, "The master of the shadow realm wanted in, so we made them different. Instead of their looks being similar, we made their ka's similar. Blue eyes white dragon with red eyes black dragon. It seemed to mix well, considering the caliber of their souls. They just complete each other."

Seto glared down at the ground now as he thought about that now. He felt a little betrayed by his own emotions, and a feeling of doubt came into him, which was weird, since he never doubted himself.

Hinako seemed to notice the look as she smiled and waved her hand. This time the image of Hinako was talking with Joey.

"This was after Joey had died once," she said with a hum.

"Are you not worried about it?" Hinako asked the blonde.

"Why should I worry?" he asked with a raised brow.

"If in the future, Seto dies, what do you think will become of you?" she asked sternly.

"Nothing," Joey said with a grin, "Seto won't die. He can't."

"Are you certain?" she asked.

"Yes," Joey said as he looked up at the sky, "I'd trust my life to him."

"Well, you don't have a choice now do you?" she said softly.

"That may be, but I'm confident he'll beat them," he said, "Besides, he won't be alone."

"Trust in yourself like Joey trusts in you," Hinako said towards Seto, "Do not let this be in vain."

Seto had watched the scene play out, before looking down, unable to meet gazes with Hinako. Had his pup really trusted him that much?

Atem smiled at his cousin, before turning to look back at Hinako.

"I think we've seen enough," he said as he stood up.

"Do you not wish to see how they died?" she asked.

"The day we see them die, will be many years later after we've defeated these losers and married our hikaris," Atem said confidently.

Hinako smirked as she snapped her fingers and the room returned to normal.

"You really are an amazing king," she complimented.

Atem smiled and bowed.

"I thank you for everything," he said.

Hinako nodded and looked at them.

"Before you go," she said, "You may want these."

Hinako hummed as she pushed five balls of light toward them. Each one, burying itself inside each yami and Seto.

"What did you do?" Bakura asked, feeling no different.

"You'll find out later," she said with a grin, "Until then, remember:

Your hikaris will always be with you."

To be continued...
