chapter three

Percy was confused. The last thing he remembered was hearing a loud sob, then a searing pain. All he could see was darkness, there was no light to speak of.

"Hello?" Percy called out, but there was no response.

Right then, all his memories flowed back into his mind. He was dead. If he was dead, then why was he not in the underworld? Where were the rest of the Seven? Where was Annabeth? Where was he?

Then, a blinding white light filled the space, rendering Percy visionless for a moment. What just happened?

"Hello? Hello?" Percy dragged out the "O's", calling out a few more times into the newly brightened space.

"Percy?" A familiar voice responded to him, making him grin in relief. Annabeth's familiar form came running in his direction.

"Annabeth," He sighed happily, picking her up and spinning her around in a tight hug. She let out a giddy laugh, holding him with an equal amount of force. They stood in that position for a few more seconds before Percy gingerly set her back down onto the floor. "Where are we?" He asked her, looking down into her mesmerizing grey eyes.

"That, I do not know," She replied, looking into the bright white walls of wherever they were.

Percy opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by a loud, familiar voice echoing through the space.

"Hello? Is anybody here?"

"Leo!" Percy and Annabeth shouted in unison, seeing the Latino boy emerge from the light. He immediately engulfed the two in a tight hug, which they returned.

"Where in Hades' underpants are we?" Leo breathed out, only being met with two confused shrugs. The trio sat on the floor, talking for a few more minutes until Piper appeared from the walls, being followed by Jason, and lastly Frank and Hazel, who emerged together.

"So we're dead, but why aren't we in the underworld? Shouldn't we have been there by now?" Percy wondered aloud. Every story he knew had the vital information that when the hero died, they were immediately sent to the Underworld, or Elysium. So why weren't they there?

"I have no idea, but I don't think that we're supposed to be here," Jason replied.

Once Hazel and Frank had arrived the group had scanned the whole area, only to find that they were being cased in by invisible walls. So they were trapped here.

"How long have we been here?" Leo complained, bouncing a red rubber ball, which he had retrieved from his tool belt, off the invisible wall. They all still had their weapons and magical items, but still couldn't seem to break the barrier keeping them inside. No matter how many times Percy had came at the wall with Riptide, it simply wouldn't budge. Frank had even turned into an elephant, (a baby one, he had tried to turn into a full sized elephant and the room proved to be too small, so the rest of the group was momentarily squished against the wall), and tried to break the wall that way. But despite their effort, the wall wouldn't break down.

"Hours maybe? For all we know it could be days, weeks, or even years," Annabeth's mind was working at a fast pace. Perhaps the space they were in moved at a different speed, therefore either elongating or shortening the time they were familiar with? Who knows, perhaps they'll be stuck here for all of eternity and they'll never know.

After what felt like an eternity of them all sitting and waiting, a door appeared.

Annabeth immediately shot up from her position (her head was on Percy's lap), and smoothed her hair down (Percy was playing with it, he got bored easily). She raced over to the door, quickly being followed by the rest of the Seven.

"Should we open it?" Frank asked hesitantly, being met with uneasy glances.

"What do we have to lose? We're already dead anyways," Percy commented. He gave Annabeth a final reassuring glance as the blonde placed her hand on the doorknob and turned.

The door opened, revealing a large space, which looked like the throne room on Mount Olympus, but so much more... beautiful. They walked in, marveling at the sight. This was Annabeth's heaven.

The walls and ceiling seemed to go up miles high, being met in the center, creating a large dome. The whole room was white, with accents of gold and black scattered about. Large pillars lined the walls, and in the center stood a large fountain, made entirely up of what looked like pure gold. Paintings of ancient battles and stories were etched onto the ceiling, the colorful art livening up the whole space. And lastly, there were three golden thrones pressed up against the wall, all at least 40 feet tall. The center throne was the largest by far though, standing at least 60 feet tall.

And in those three thrones sat three people, who each emitted so much power it made the demigods' brains hurt. The power from the three beings who sat in front of them was so overwhelming, it was as if the only thing the Seven could do was bow, so that is what they all did.

"Rise, young heroes," The being in the middle spoke. It's voice was calming, smooth and overflowing with power. The demigods obliged, rising from their positions to stand in front of the thrones. "You may be wondering why you were called here, rather than be sent to the underworld. Me and my children," He gestured to the two who sat on either side of him. "have decided to revive you and offer you the opportunity to become the leaders of our armies here on our planet. You will be your own squadron, but you will also command the rest of our armies. We have watched you all throughout your lives and have decided that only you seven have proven yourself worthy. If you do not wish to command our army, we will send you to Elysium. But if you wish to join, you will have immortality and countless other abilities. The decision is yours to make," The being finished, leaving the demigods in shock.

Endless amounts of questions raced through each of their minds. Who was this being who they were talking to? Why would they want us? Should we risk it?

A long pause of silence filled the air.

"I'll join," Leo stepped forward. The rest of the Seven looked to each other, silently debating.

"We're a team here. I'll join as well," Piper stepped up, standing next to Leo.

"We stick together. If one of us go, the rest of us do." Annabeth replied firmly, the remaining Seven nodded and stepped forward, causing the still unnamed entity to smile down at them.

"You have made the right decision," He waved a hand over the demigods and spoke a few phrases in Ancient Greek, causing a flood of seemingly endless power to run through each of them, rejuvenating and energizing them beyond belief. They had never felt such a feeling before, it could only be described as incredible. Each of them looked at themselves and each other in wonder at the feeling of power they had just experienced.

"These are my children," He gestured to the two sitting beside him. "Chaos and Order. They are the only ones, minus me of course, who have more power than you. You Seven are now more powerful than any God, Titan, or Primordial. Use your powers wisely." The two, who are now known as Chaos and Order, smiled down at their new commanders. Chaos, the one on the left of the still unnamed being, had a mischievous smile on his face. He had unruly, short pitch black hair, similar to that of Percy's. His eyes were a swirl of thousands of different colors, creating, true to his name, a chaotic scene. He gave off an uneasy vibe, like at any moment he could explode any planet or universe he wished, which he probably could. He was a troublemaker, that was for sure. But despite that, he seemed caring and kind. The demigods felt as if they could not trust him as much as the other two, but could still have a strong bond with him.

Order on the other hand, was the complete opposite. She had long pitch black hair, identical to her brother's minus the length. Her locks went down to her waist, each strand being pin straight. Her eyes were pure silver, shining as bright as any star. She had a kind demeanor, sending a warm smile to the new additions to their army. But even with her kind personality, getting on her bad side was a horrid idea, for her name was Order for a reason. She seemed giving and kind, and gave off the feeling of comfort and motherliness, which was slightly surprising for a person named Order, whom you would think to be cold and unforgiving.

And the being in the middle, he was the most peculiar of them all. He had gray hair and a matching beard, his skin pale and slightly wrinkled. He looked as if he had all the wisdom in the world, with enough secrets to bury millions of people. He was ancient and wise, with an equally kind and forgiving aura as his daughter did. He did indeed look like he could have created the whole universe with his own hands. Yet his eyes were the most peculiar and endearing part of him. They were pitch black with swirls of galaxies and stars in them, the silver, white, purples, blacks, and blues creating a beautiful combination. He truly did have the galaxies in his eyes.

"And who are you, if I may ask," Annabeth's curiosity got the best of her as she timidly blurted out her question. The man sent her a kind smile, his eyes swirling around like a sea of stars.

"I am Void. Father and Creator of All. And welcome, my new commanders, to the Army of the Void."

hello loves! here's a new chapter bc why the heck not.

also, HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY PERCY! thank you for being such an amazing and inspirational character, and the reason for so much happiness in the world. also, without him there wouldn't be percabeth and that'd alone be a tragedy.

also a disclaimer: YES, I DO KNOW THAT IN GREEK MYTHOLOGY, CHAOS (or Khaos), IS THE CREATOR OF EVERYTHING AND THE FIRST BEING TO EXIST. but for the sake of the story, pretend he has a dad who created everything instead. void , chaos, and order have MAJOR parts in this story, so that's why i made void as the creator of all, rather than chaos.
