     ~Vikk's P.O.V~

Pushing the small button, Lachlan and I step through the portal once again. I sure hope this one isn't like the last one... Oh dear, what if the levels get increasingly harder? We both almost died on the first level, and I don't want to know what it'll be like if the levels will get more difficu-

     "Level 2: Super Mario Bros, last level. Complete level to win" Lachlan reads, interrupting  my thoughts.

     Before I can even respond, we're in a grey corridor, with bubbling lava and monsters galore. I look down at my clothing to see I'm in a Mario suit. Lachlan on the other hand, is in Luigi's suit.

     "These overalls are mighty uncomfortable mate." Lachlan complains, picking at the straps.

     I chuckle, rolling my eyes and starting to move forward. We slowly creep down the grey brick stairs and eye the horrifying lava pit below with caution. I glance around but can only see one way forward... Jump.

     "Just like the nether... Ey Vikky?" Lachlan states, laughing nervously.
     "I agree... How about we jump on three?"
     "Alright..."
     "Three, two, one, JUMP!"

     We sail over the lava, clearing it by an extra few meters. But landing proves a bit painful, the shockwaves of the impact vibrating right through my spine. Wincing, I shake it off and follow after Lachlan who made an excellent landing... Surprisingly. Ahead of us, jutting from the green pipes are large plants, with big red heads instead of petals, complete with large white spots and a set of sharp gnashing teeth. And situated behind these plants, small little brown creatures with no arms and large heads. Big black eyebrows furrow together angrily on the small brown monsters as they march back and fourth through the hallway. The also have two small teeth sticking up from the corners of each sides of their mouths. I recognize them, goombas, a classic Mario enemy. I'd be grumpy too if I was stuck in a place like this...

With an exchange of confident nods, we dash off towards the first plant, jumping and just barley clearing it as it snaps at us, trying to snag a piece of our clothing, as with the second plant. But as soon as we're out of the plants striking range, we're in the goombas territory. As they turn to face us, waddling furiously in our direction a single word comes to mind.

"Jump!"

Well not exactly jump but stomp more like it. We leap onto their heads, squashing them beneath our weight. Although on the very last goomba, Lachlan slips up and tumbles into it, shrinking to less than half of his previous height. He gets up again and stomps it but is left there standing as a mini Lachlan.

"You look absolutely hilarious!" I giggle, trying to bite back a laugh as to not be rude.
"This isn't very funny Vikk! I could have died!" Lachlan rages in a small high pitched and squeaky voice.

Instead of apologizing like I probably should be, I break out into a hearty laughter, clutching my stomach. And seeing him stand there with a little angry face I just laugh harder, until I'm crying . Although eventually, my laughter gradually wears out until all that remains is a small smile tugging at my lips.

     "Now you nick name isn't an exaggeration at all, is it little Lachy?" I snicker.
     "You done so we can go?" Lachlan huffs.

    I nod and we continue on. At the next lava pit we notice it's much to large to jump, but, there is a floating platform moving back and fourth across it. We patiently wait for it to return to our side before hopping on and being lifted to the other side where we leap off before it can go back. As we make our way through the dim hall, we notice a few green pipes but ignore them since we didn't really care about 'points' at this time. We duck under another two plants before jumping across a small gap. Then coming across another plant we jump over it and avoid a few more goombas.

     Finally we arrive at silver pipe, one that will lead us to the next stage of the level.

    "You go first." Mini Lachlan ushers, pushing me towards it.
    "Ugh, fine."

     And with that I hop down the pipe, twisting and turning as I slide through the darkness before finally emerging on the other side with mini Lachlan not far behind. After we're both present we repeat the whole first method once again. Man Mario maps are repetitive... I think bitterly as we finally come across a new enemy. Needless to say, these enemies are literally just flying turtles. With yellow skin and either green or red shells, the turtles all have a small set of angel wings that let them hover and bob in the air. These are called koopas. Well flying koopas to be exact.

We run right through them, not even bothering trying to stomp on them seeing as they are quite a few feet in the air. And then after a long run of too many plants, goombas, and koopas, to count, we finally come across the huge double doors leading to bowser. At one point Lachlan did almost tumble to his death in a pit of lava, as his legs are now short and not as strong, but I had scooped him up just in time.

     ~Tiny little flashback~

     "I think we should be getting close now Vikk..."
     "Yeah this looks like it might be the last lava pit... Here, I'll go first."

     Taking a bit of a running start I easily jumped over the pit turning around and beckoning Mini Lachlan forward. But I well knew he couldn't make the jump, it seemed to be longer than the rest. I felt bad because he didn't know he couldn't make the jump, and the terrified look on his face would send me to guilty land. But if he knew he couldn't make it, he might have chickened out or worse, not make it far enough for me to catch him.

Jumping as far as his little legs could propel him, it looked like he might even make it... But alas he winded up a few inches short, but I was ready. So before he could even scream I had reached out and pulled him back, skidding backwards to avoid falling in myself.

~End of flashback~

"Oh dear, I really don't want to do this..." I whine, pulling back the doors with a loud creak.
"Well at least your not tiny!"

Sticking close together, we dash down the thin hallway, finally appearing in a large room, with bower awaiting. He stands there, a giant mass of destruction, ready to shred us to pieces. (See picture above to see what bowser looks like.)
With a loud roar, enough to shake the entire room, he puffs out his cheeks before opening his mouth wide and letting a pillar of fire shoot out. Lachlan and I both dive out of the way, barley avoiding getting burnt to a crisp. And that's when I spot the large red button behind him.

It seems Lachlan also spots it, glancing over at me. He rushes towards it but as he tries to jump over bowser, he gets grabbed mid air, trapped in bowsers large hands. He wriggles around but to no avail as bowser just laughs evilly. And I know what I have to do. Rushing up to bowser and ramming into him, I manage to free Lachlan at the cost of becoming tiny myself. And using the time while bowser it still unstable, Lachlan grabs my arm and pulls me along as he darts through bowsers legs and to the red button, slamming it down victoriously as the floor quickly falls from beneath bowser, sending him to his doom in the lava below. With one last roar of agony, he's gone and we're back at the portal. The light at the second button now alive and shining.

"Thanks Vikk... That's twice you've saved me now, I owe you one!"
"Ah that's alright, I'd be happy to do it again if I had to. Now let's get number three done and over." I reply, waltzing over to the button and pressing it down before stepping once again through the portal with Lachlan.
