Just an average day in the life of Me
I don't know what the fuck was happening. All I know is that I'm currently walking home with a total stranger who just so happens to be my Guardian Angel, after crying into his shoulder for ten minutes straight.
"So," the green-haired boy said, looking in my direction as he walked. "What are your siblings like?" He smiled and played with the sleeves of his hoodie (which had magically appeared after I stopped crying, along with a pair of black jeans and red converse). "They're the best. Touya, he's the oldest, he can be an asshole most of the time, but he's got my back. Natsuo is basically like Touya except more of a walking meme, while Touya is more of a "I will cut you if you breathe in my direction" kind of vibe. Then there's Fuyumi, who is always fussing about me. She'll probably want to interrogate once we get home then we'll have to stop her from telling...."
Fuck. Dad doesn't let anyone in the house.
"Is everything okay?" Izuku looked at him, concerned. "Uhm... Dad doesn't let anyone he doesn't know in the house, or anyone at all fir that matter. What do we do?!" I was on the brink of a panic attack until Izuku's hand was on my shoulder. "It's alright. We're fine." He seemed to sense my impending anxiety and smiled, causing my worries to melt away like ice next to a campfire.
Izuku wrapped his wings around his body and they became transparent. Then, a slight shimmer came to his complexion. His wings were now nowhere to be seen. "I'm now invisible to everyone but you. If you want to introduce me to someone, tell me so I can change back, okay?" I nodded. I wanted to touch his skin, just to see what that sparkle was.
"Can I...?" I grabbed his arm and rolled his sleeve up. "Oh yeah sure." I ran my fingers over his arm, then inspected my fingertips. A weird golden glitter coated the tips of my fingers. "That's from my wings. It's kind of like Pixie Dust, but for angels. It allows me to become invisible and to talk to other amgels if need be.
"There are others?" I asked, gaining a giggle from him. "Of course there are, Shoto. All those people who've survived near-death moments, that was their Guardian. Most people do have one and just don't know it." I took in this information. "How can I spot the Guardians?"
"Well, by yourself, they're normally a bit paler than most, they tend to be well-behaved and loving, and will stay by their Graced's side as much as possible. Other than that, you can use me, but that's better with more people." I thought about the many people who could be Guardians, but one stuck out to me. "Do you know a Kirishima?" I asked.
His eyes widened. "Eijirou?" I nodded. "That's my best friend. He always contacts me talking about how angry his Graced always is. I'm actually super worried about him." He looked down. "Worried?" I pressed further, because the subject of angels? That sounds pretty fucking interesting. "Well you aren't allowed to fall in love with the person you're guarding. You'll be banished to hell if you can't contain the feelings and acting on them is pretty much a death sentence. No one can save you at that point. Kirishima's really thick when it comes to this sort of thing so he probably won't realise for a while, but still..."
"Why can't you fall in love? That's stupid." Izuku shrugged. "Gets in the way of guarding I suppose." I thought of a million reasons as to why this would win the bullshit awards, but I kept them to myself. As my house came into view, I checked with Izuku that he was actually invisible before taking a deep breath and opening the door.
"Shoto? Is that you?" Fuyuminstuck her head through the door leading to the kitchen. "Hey." I looked back at Izuku, who was still standing outside and told him to become visible. After the light shimmer on his skin disappeared, I tugged him inside and closed the door, locking it then walking into the kitchen.
"Hey. This is my friend Izuku." He waved and everyone froze. "Shoto you actually made a friend? That's impressive!" Touya teased from his spot on top of the kitchen island. He whinced when Fuyumi whopped him over the head with a magazine. "Cut it. I think it's wonderful that you made a friend, Shoto, but what if dad finds out?"
Natsuo closed the fridge (which he had previously been rummaging through) and stretched. "We'll have to make sure he doesn't then. He won't be home until after we head to school tomorrow." Touya rolled his eyes. "Like that's out of the ordinary. Shoto, go show Izuku around since he's staying the night."
Izuku and I exchanged looks because it was clear to both of us that itbwould be a little longer than that.
