Hello, my Graced
"Oh come on! It's been years, I'm ready!" The elder angel sighed at the green-haired teenager's stubborn persistence. "I've told you this. The people we protect, The Graced, are going through darkness you can't begin to understand. You died too young, you were too good. You don't truly understand the evil in the world below us." The boy's emerald orbs lit up with a distinct passion that the elder angel recognized far too well. "I don't care! I want to help someone and get my halo! Besides, Kirishima, Kaminari and Ochako already have theirs! I can do it, I swear. Please!" The boy bowed deeply. "Please let me become a Guardian!" The elder sighed once more. Oh, how he needed a break...
"Very well. Izuku Midoriya, there is someone that needs protecting." Izuku's eyes lit up, silently celebrating as he walked alongside the elder, his golden wings trailing behind him with every step, towards a door he didn't recognize. The door opened before they even reached for the handle and promptly closed behind them. The room was dark, the only scorce of light being the large crystal ball in the center of the room.
As they walked towards it, the mist within the globe began to swirl faster, faster, gaining different colours. Until they suddenly stopped. There, in the ball, was a boy. He had bruises on his face and arms, as well as a split lip and bleeding nose. Izuku gasped at the boy's state. How his hair, split in two colours, was tossled and stained with his own blood, how he limped with every other step he took, and how his face was void of any emotion. It was a look that he'd never seen on a person.
"This is Shoto Todoroki. Seventeen years of age, birthday on January eleventh. Immediate family is his mother, older sister, two older brothers and his father, who is one of the people you will be protecting him from." Izuku looked confused and horrified, so the elder continued. "Reason for Guardian, an abusive father who acts violently towards his whole family, he is aggressively bullied on a daily basid at school. But the most important thing you will protect him from, is himself."
"I'm sorry, I don't understand. Himself?" Izuku looked up at the eldet who sported a sombre expression. "You understand what happens to one when they kill themselves, correct?" Izuku's face paled. "O-of course, sir. They are trialed and banished to h-hell." Izuku didn't like speaking of that place. His old friend Himiko went down the wrong path in life. He was there in her heavenly judgement. He watched as the mist-like ground opened beneath her and swallowed her whole. He heard her screams of fear and regret. He was even close enough to have caught a glimps of the flames. They were pure, lethal, fueled by pain and rage.
"Correct, Izuku. Shoto here," Izuku briefly looked at the globe before reverting his attention back to his elder. "Is heavily contemplating it. He believes that the world would be a better place without him in it. Now, your job," Izuku swallowed as the elder placed a hand on his shoulder. "Is to prevent him from going through with this and to protect him from the harm people are wishing to inflict on him. Can you do that?" Izuku bit his lip before taking a breath. He looked up with a confident face and nodded.
"Good. I'm sending you down to Earth now. Good luck, Izuku Midoriya." Golden light and warmth surrounded him and he could vaguely feel the sensation of falling before his feet made contact with solid ground. He opened his eyes, which he didn't remember closing. There in front of him, was an awestruck Shoto. Izuku smiled at him, trying to awake him from his daze.
"Hello, my Graced. My name is Izuku Midoriya and I'm your Guardian Angel." Shoto blinked. "Am I dreaming? This can't be real..." His voice was horse. Izuku smiled wider. "Nope. You need protection, and I was assigned to you. Now on that subject, what happened to you?" Izuku dropped his smile and grabbed Shoto's arm which was littered in bruises.
"It's nothing. Just some assholes at school." Izuku frowned. "What did they do?" The older boy sighed. "They have this old tradition of taking whatever food or money I have on me after school. Because I didn't have any today, they beat me up." Izuku froze. "That's terrible. I'm sorry. But I'm going to make sure you don't have to deal with this anymore."
With that, Izuku raised Shoto's arm to his lips and planted a kiss on a large bruise residing there. The older male's face immediately went red. "What are you-"
"Hold still." Izuku cut him off. He continued to kiss the parts of Shoto that he could see were injured. When he got to his face, he kissed his neck, which caused Shoto to shiver, then his right cheek, then his lips.
It was just a single peck, but there was something else. It was deep in his stomach, like a match being struck in the darkness. When he pulled away, he could tell immediately from Shoto's face that something was up. "Are you okay?" He asked.
"No! You just float down here all dramatic and pretty and you tell me you're my Guardian Angel, and now you just kissed me! Like, everywhere! Who are you?" Shoto looked like someone splashed him in the face with red paint he was blushing so hard. Then it hit Izuku. Stupid, this probably isn't normal!
"I am so sorry! An angel's kiss heals any wound so I thought... Just look at your arm." Shoto raised his arm up to his face. It was completely clear of all marks, showing soft pale skin. His eyes widened. "How the..." He looked down to Izuku. "You really are my..."
Izuku nodded. "You're not alone in this anymore." Izuku hugged Shoto's waist as he felt wet drops hit the back of his neck and arms wrap around his shoulders.
