Weasley," said Malfoy. "Did your mother die of shock?"

Ron stood up so quickly he knocked Crookshanks's basket to the floor. Professor Lupin gave a snort.

"Who's that?" said Malfoy, taking an automatic step backward as he spotted Lupin.

"New teacher," said Harry, who got to his feet, too, in case he needed to hold Ron back. "What were you saying, Malfoy?"

Malfoy's pale eyes narrowed; he wasn't fool enough to pick a fight right under a teacher's nose.

"C'mon," he muttered resentfully to Crabbe and Goyle, and they disappeared.

Harry and Ron sat down again, Ron massaging his knuckles.

"I'm not going to take any crap from Malfoy this year," he said angrily. "I mean it. If he makes one more crack about my family, I'm going to get hold of his head and --"

Ron made a violent gesture in midair.

"Ron," hissed Hermione, pointing at Professor Lupin, "be careful..." But Professor Lupin was still fast asleep.

Amelia giggled. "Yeah," said Amelia and repeated the gesture into the air. Hermione grabbed Amelia's hand and brought it down. "Now look what you have taught her!" hissed Hermione to 

Ron. Amelia giggled once more and took a bite of her sandwich.

"How can you eat so much?" asked Ron handily. Hermione pinched him. "Don't be rude!"

Amelia shook her head. "It is fine. The reason I eat so much is becouse I have to. Shapeshifters or as you call them Metamorphmagus are considered humanoids and have a fasted metabolism compared to our human counterparts. Are you following?" Ron and Harry nodded. "We need to eat more to staine yourselves. If we don't we can become anorexic and die of starvation. Low blood sugar is also common which is why I am allowed to carry around sweets at school. I found this out the hard way when I passed out in first year during Charms."

"Ouch," hissed Ron.

Amelia gave a shrug. "I had an egg on my head for days. Becouse of this most Metamorphmagus are very skinny." Amelia lifted up her shirt with one hand to show her stomach which had long scars on it from her first year when she got attacked and wasn't flat to the other's surprise. There were also pink lines tracing her stomach.

"I take pills to stop my period which can cause a bit of white gain, but that doesn't really matter," said Amelia lowering her shirt.

"What are those pink lines?" asked Ron. Hermione pinched him. "Ron!"

"It is ok Hermione. These boys could use all the knowledge on basic female anatomy they could get. These pink lines are called stretch marks. They are most common when someone is pregnant but can happen when someone loses or gains weight. They start out blue and then fade to pink before almost fading compliantly."

"Oh, ok," said Ron nodding.
