Dreams
I was running, pumping my legs as I heard the branches and twigs snap behind me and barkings from the rabid wolves come behind me. I panted softly, scared and frightened as they got closer. I couldn't run anymore and tried to get to a tree, but collapsed as a wolf bit into my leg, pulling me down. I hold onto the bleeding leg and curled up, watching the two as they snarled and come closer.
They were covered in dirty, eyes staring down as I tried not to cuss in pain. There was no way this was a dream. I shouldn't have gone to work, I shouldn't have chased after those hurt animals, I sh-
A loud beeping came and I gasped, shooting up and looking around. I sighed softly and leaned back on my head board. No wolves. No blood. I get up and sighed softly as I get ready. I have no choice to not go to work. I ran out of vacations from worse hallucinations than that. I could still feel the bite on my leg.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Alisa Woods. I work at a nearby animal center and I oddly love dogs. I also live by some woods, but I plan to move.
I went out and got my mail, trying to ignore the dark and seemingly empty tree line. I knew that a large, amber wolf was already watching me, always teasing to come out and go to me, but refused to when I take interest.
I went back inside and sighed. I shouldn't have left America. This place gets crazy. But at least I was away from all the family drama. I went out after I finished my coffee and throwing away the junk mail and left.
I was wearing my red hair in a pony tail, my uniform wrinkly, but clean. It was the standard navy blue, and white sneakers. I left for work and I looked over my charts.
More animals had gotten hurt. A bunny from a child and a small puppy. I quickly helped them both and smiled softly.
"Just make sure they don't get hurt anymore than they already are." I told the parents of both caretakers and watched them leave. A surgery was in need, and I quickly went to the room, mask in place. Wolf.
I sighed softly, the wolf was beautiful. She was a large, gray wolf with bright brown eyes. She weight below average, and was small for her age. I helped with the branches and brusings that were on her and went to the recovery room, helping calm the crazed dog.
"Shh. It's okay. I'm here." I said softly as I pet her. She whimpered and laid her head on me, leaning towards me as if she was a child. I smiled softly and relaxed. Wolves from this area liked me. They allowed me to come close and their pups often jumped up in down in excitement.
It would be cute. If I wasn't terrified of them. I went home after a while and went to bed. I didn't notice the amber wolf that was stalking out of my house. I collapsed on the couch and sighed softly. No more nightmares please?
