"Okay will you tell me now why you've been so strangely happy today?" Ryan asked me full of excitement in our lunch break.

"Hey I'm always happy these days?" I asked him confused.

He was right though. Ever since the date yesterday, I couldn't stop with smiling and thinking about him.

I felt like I was back on cloud nine again. This sort of happiness was very different. He just made me feel good whilst making me forget about everything else. I was being treated so well by him. He was a real gentleman.

We also had a lot of fun while we talked about everything.

It felt nice, because I was genuinely happy without having to force it.

And that was exactly what I needed.

"That's true, but compared to the last days you're basically illuminating today Matty. What happened? Oh my- is it Justin?! What did he doooo?" He yelled loud through the cafeteria and jumped up and down like a child, making everyone look at us.

"Ryan?! Everyone hears you! Be quiet and sit down you dork" I said as I became all flustered.

"Okay okay, tell me!" He spoke a bit softer and sat down next to me.

"Justin and I went on a date.." I almost grinned when I said that.

I told him the entire story from the anxious beginning till the end of a magical night and Ryan listened interested at me. Sometimes the silly boy even giggled or cheered at some points.

"And after the kiss, he left" I smiled and felt the blood gush towards my cheeks.

"Awe! Ship" He giggled and smirked creepy.

"What is a ship?" I frowned confused and shook my head.

"You're stupid!" Ryan gasped then.

Was it so weird that I didn't know what a ship meant?

My eyes wandered around and in that moment I saw Justin coming into the cafeteria walking towards my way.

He looked so confident with his amazing looks, happy with his life and beautiful with that smile of his.

The pair of green eyes shone with happiness as his blonde hair fell messy over his face. He had the same leather jacket as yesterday along with a dark sweater and blue jeans.

He really never wore sweaters and it still surprised me how he left his hair messy, but both of it still looked him really well on him.

Could he even get any more beautiful?

"Hey beauty" Justin smirked at me and kissed my cheek before he went sitting down in front of me.

I felt my cheeks heat up in that moment, especially now Ryan watched us with that huge grin on his face. Justin greeted the rest of our friends and started a conversation with Micah about who knows what.

"So how are you?" I looked back and asked Ryan then.

"Oh yeah, I'm good" He said, half listening as he suddenly was texting on his phone with someone.

He's been distant and acting weird these days. I don't know exactly since when, but I felt like we were growing apart and I didn't know why this was happening to us. It bothered me a lot.

Mostly he's just texting on his phone or he constantly leaves the group all of a sudden.

Should I say something about it?

"Really? I mean.. Lately you've been acting kind of.. Different with me Ryan" I told him honestly.

"What do you mean?" He looked up from his phone for a second before texting further.

"You've been distant with us, even with me? It's like you're hiding something.." I answered and watched him.

"Seriously? Just because I'm on my phone for a second, doesn't mean I'm all of a sudden distant with you!" Ryan put his phone away and shot me an irritated look.

"What the- It's been more than one time Ryan! You leave without telling us where you are going and you barely pay any attention anymore. What's wrong? You know that I'm here for you right?" I told him and grabbed his arm.

He didn't seem to react very well, because he ripped his arm from my grip and stood up.

"Good to know that even my own best friend doesn't trust me!" He yelled mad and walked away, leaving me nothing but confused and dumbfounded in my seat.

"S-should I go after him?" I asked as I looked at my friends who had been watching us the entire time.

I was so confused by now. Did I really sound like I didn't trust him?

I didn't mean to do that. I just wondered what happened to us lately. We weren't as close as we used to ever since Ryan took his distance from me.

"You can better leave him for now, he's angry and irritated. He should calm down first. Don't worry Matt, he will come around" Wess told me.

He was right. You could better leave Ryan to cool down first whenever he was angry or annoyed, but I just hated the feeling that I might've did something.

Because why else would he act like this to me?

Not later the bell rang so I got up and started walking with my friends to our classes.

"Hey Matz, we have class together" Justin walked next to me and winked at me as my heart beat faster.

"Yeah.." I smiled soft and tried not to blush.

"Are you okay? You know with Ry.." He asked me slightly concerned.

"Yeah I just want to make this right with him. I don't even know what's going on" I answered honestly.

"It will be okay. You two are best friends and practically inseparable. He loves you a lot you know that" Justin smiled as he grabbed my hand while taking me to geography class, making me experience the butterflies again.

The lessons were pretty much boring, but Justin and my friends helped me through the day as we stumbled together. I haven't seen Ryan anymore, I tried to text and call him but I never heard anything from him so I decided to try again tomorrow.

What I definitely can say after today, is that all I needed were my friends to survive.
