Part 5: Let's Do This!

"Well, Eleanor can be on the team," Theodore suggested.

"You'll also be needing of me!" said Alvin.

"W-W-Wait! We still need to catch the 'cheating on act' so technically, we need to have another team which will stop the cheaters," Simon stated.

"Simon's right," Brittany agreed.

"I-I'll be joining the race!" Alvin volunteered.

"Who else?" Simon asked.

"Since I am the detective here, I'll be joining the team who's not in the race. Theodore, are you with me?" Eleanor spoke.

"I- I can be your Watson, Ely," said Jeanette. "If you want me to."

"Oh, sure!" Eleanor grinned. "Sherlock Chipmunk strikes again!"

"The remaining four, including myself, will be the one racing," Simon stated.

"Just remember our practice, everyone," Alvin notified. He looked around seriously then he saw Brittany staring at him, grinning.

"Oh, great!" Alvin exclaimed sarcastically. "One of the Racers Team didn't practice!"

"Well, I'm the one who gave you a hint to win the race!" Brittany replied.

"Are you sure you can help us win the race?" Alvin asked.

"Tell that to yourself!" Brittany replied.

"Hey! Didn't you remember that I beat Bocarter on a bike race even though he's such a cheater! We're lucky no one steal our bikes before the race on Monday," Alvin exclaimed.

"And I won a skater match against Alec, remember? I am sure that I can win this bike race for us, too!" Brittany responded.

"Woah! Woah! Woah! Everyone calm down!" Theodore interrupted.

"How about you Theodore? Are you sure you can help this team win the race?" Alvin asked, averting his eyes from Brittany.

"Well, I'm not sure..." Theodore replied innocently.

"Of course you'll gonna help us win," Simon interrupted. "Have you forgotten about the time when Theodore became our best player in dodge ball?"

"Oh, yeah! I remember that," Theodore grinned, a radiant smile forming on his lips.

"And Simon here... well..." Alvin spoke, suddenly interrupted by his thoughts.

"Enough with the insults, Alvin," Simon groaned. "If you don't want me to be in the race, then maybe I'll just stay here. You can recruit Dave as your teammate if you want."

"First of all, Dave isn't allowed because only racers with the ages 12 to 18 are allowed to join. And second..." replied Alvin.

"Enough, Alvin. Simon might not be an athlete but he can be the brains in our team," Brittany interrupted.

"Thanks, Brit," said Simon with a smile on his face.

"Just stating the facts," Brittany replied.

"Now we're all just going to prepare ourselves tomorrow," Eleanor notified. "We have to take some rest and we're also gonna investigate the area where the race is going to be held."

"G- Great idea, Ely," replied Jeanette softly before letting out a sigh.

They were all in the mood for the upcoming race that they didn't noticed Dave entering the room.

"Are you guys ready for the race on Monday?" Dave asked.

"Oh, Dave! There you are. We... We didn't see you there," Alvin grinned.

"I heard my name while I'm heading here so... anything alright?" Dave spoke.

"Don't worry, Dave," Theodore said. "Everything will all be alright."

"Well, whatever happens, I wish you all good luck!"
