Chapter 3: City and Angels
(y/n) P.O.V.
Mom and I were currently out because I wanted to get away from the cabin just this once.
Once we got there, I was amazed. Before seeing the big city (what Mom calls it), I had not seen the world in forever. Just seeing the sun and the bright lights illuminating from all the signs made me feel all sentimental.
Bayonetta: "Amazing, isn't it?"
"Mom, I haven't seen the world since my adoption, and now I never want to go back."
Bayonetta: We have all day to explore.
"And see the sights I never could see in my life."
Mom and I explored the city, and took a look inside the many shops. We didn't buy anything, but she knew we would come back to get these clothes in the future. They were just too good that we passed them on upon our first inspection.
After that, Mom took me to the park where we sat on a bench.
"I never got to go to the park before."
Bayonetta: "You never did?"
"No. I never left the house that much."
Bayonetta: "That's not..."
"Healthy? Yeah, I know. The only sun I ever got was the light coming from the window."
Bayonetta: "All part of the fear in your town?"
"You know it."
Bayonetta: "Your town must have been nothing but fear."
"Well, remove the 'nothing but' portion and you get what I mean."
Mom pondered everything I said. I guess she thought that I didn't grow up in a friendly community.
"Mom?"
Bayonetta: "The community wasn't all that kind, were they?"
"I'd rather not go into it."
Bayonetta: "If you say so."
"Mom, can I play for a little bit?"
Bayonetta: "You may."
"Thanks, Mom!"
I ran far away from her, knowing that there were sections of the park I hadn't even got to see because of my old folks. I felt wild and free. The park was my stomping grounds.
But something felt "off" the further I went.
Almost as if there was a strange red moon.
I looked up and saw a portal with flying bats or something...? Coming out of it.
That's when I realized I needed to turn back.
But I only ran a few inches before I was captured by a figure I couldn't make out.
I prayed that Mom would notice.
Bayonetta P.O.V.
I left (y/n) to his own so he could explore the park.
He left a few minutes ago, and I started to get a little worried.
"(y/n)?" I called. "It's time to go!"
He never came back.
"(y/n)?"
From afar, I could see him with another person taking him into a portal in the sky.
That's when I realized he was in trouble.
"Let him go!" I called out.
The angel attempted to escape with (y/n), but I grabbed him by his leg.
"Mommy!" he shouted.
I held on tight, but he was pulled away from me by force.
"Leave my son ALONE!"
"Make me," the angel responded with sarcasm.
I pulled out my gun.
"Put him down."
"Come and get him!" the angel responded, dangling (y/n) from his leg.
I fired a bullet.
(y/n): "Mom, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
The bullet hit the angel, sending (y/n) down to earth.
"(y/n)!!!"
I quickly grabbed him just mere inches before he hit the ground.
(y/n): "Mom..."
"It's alright," I told him.
(y/n): "You saved my life."
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves."
He hugged me tightly.
"Let me guess: your old folks would never protect you from this?"
(y/n): "You know it."
"I'll be keeping my eye on you from now on."
(y/n): "Please do."
"Why don't we get some ice cream?"
(y/n): "After dealing with an angel?"
"You showed bravery by not letting go of the angel when it captured you."
(y/n): "Thanks, mom."
We left the park from there.
Author's Note:
I know it's not Thursday yet, but I wanted to release it earlier because I felt proud at the end of the story.
Look at all that text. Yeah, it took me an even longer while to do, because much of the writing time was spent on discussing with JesseDexa on how this chapter would go. I hope I did it exactly like our DM discussion.
