Day 3

{If our love song

Could fly over mountains

Could laugh at the ocean

Just like the films}

__

Kirishima wasn't usually one for payback, but this was just too tempting.

He had set three alarms- one for every five minutes between 5.45am and 6am. Then, before bed, he made sure to have a shower and lay out his clothes for the next day in preparation.

When morning came, he was surprised that he didn't need the second and third alarms, as his first thought was a sudden wave of excitement.

He wanted to spar with Bakugou this morning and was planning on knocking on his door at 6am on the dot, hopefully waking the other boy up like he had done to him.

Kirishima's shoulders were still aching from yesterday's session, and figured Bakugou's would be too, so he decided that the blond might be more willing to go and spar rather than workout.

After changing, Kirishima stepped out into the corridor, and was immediately greeted by the sight of Kaminari pacing.

He had just passed Bakugou's room, and when he reached the dead end, he turned and began pacing back towards Kirishima. His head was down, bright yellow hair concealing his eyes, but he had a dopy grin on his lips accompanied by a dreamy expression.

"Yo!" Kirishima exclaimed cheerfully, and the electric boy's head shot up in shock.

He stared for a moment, seemingly still startled, before he shook his head and his hair fell away from his eyes. He grinned.

"Oh! Hey dude! Whatcha doin' up so early?"

It was Kirishima's turn to grin now. "Was gonna wake Bakugou up. He did it to me yesterday, so fair is fair."

Kaminari laughed, turning to lean against the wall, "If he explodes you, I'm not helping!" he said with a shrug.

"He won't" Kirishima said confidently, before glancing down at his watch.
Two minutes before he needed to knock.
He looked back up, eyeing Kaminari's bright expression and fidgeting body. He didn't look tired at all, despite how early it was.

"Why are you up anyway?"

Kaminari's grin faltered for a split second and he stared at the wall beside Kirishima's head for a moment. Then his focus snapped back to Kirishima's face and his smile returned.

"Okay, I'm only telling you this because you're my best bro. But you have to promise not to tell anyone, okay?"

Kirishima's eyebrows shot up in surprise. He hadn't expected there to be a story to this. He nodded anyway, and Kaminari sighed out a breath, dreamy eyes returning as he stared in the distance.

"I have a-" he began, before Bakugou's door swung open, cutting him off. The edge of the door knocked into Kaminari, and the electric boy stumbled a step to the side.

"Good morning to you too Bakugou!" Kaminari chirped sarcastically, but he still smiled warmly at the blond.

Bakugou ignored him, eyes instead moving to where Kirishima stood, propped back against the wall across from him. His eyes ran down him quickly, before snapping back to his face.

"Gonna go workout without me Shitty Hair?"

Kirishima felt heat flood to his cheeks at the borderline possessive tone that had slid into Bakugou's voice, despite the teasing smirk he sported.
"Um."

Kaminari laughed, clapping a hand down on Kirishima's shoulder.

"That's my cue to leave. You ladies have fun now, alright? Don't hurt yourselves." He said, and although the innuendo went over Kirishima's head, it didn't go over Bakugou's.

"Have fun with the zombie, Drooly." He bit back, without missing a beat.

Kaminari's cheeks flooded red, the colour stretching down his chest and up over his ears.

"I feel like I'm missing something here." Kirishima groaned, and Kaminari giggled awkwardly.

Bakugou rolled his eyes, before turning and pulling his bedroom door closed. He then proceeded to grab hold of Kirishima's wrist, giving it a light tug in the direction of the stairs.

Kaminari's eyes dropped to where Bakugou had taken hold of Kirishima and grinned again.

"Nah. You definitely aren't oblivious to anything-"

"Can you fuck off?!" Bakugou snapped, and Kaminari lifted his hands in surrender.

The electric boy turned to Kirishima and gave him a wide smile.

"Anyway, I'll see ya later!"

Then he was off, prancing back down the corridor in the direction of his dorm.

Kirishima turned back to Bakugou, who simply tugged on his wrist again, this time more forcefully.

~

They had been sparring for about an hour now.

Since it was so early in the morning, and the teacher's dorm was annoyingly close to the gym, they had agreed that they would be sparring without quirks. It was mostly to save them from Aizawa's wrath if he heard Bakugou's explosions, but also because they didn't do much quirkless practice in class.

"You know," Kirishima gasped, after having only just managing to dodge another of Bakugou's swift punches, "I'm much better at grappling!"

Bakugou huffed out a laugh, sliding lower in order to speed under Kirishima's arm. He caught one of the redhead's wrists and pinned it behind his back, and in the same movement swiftly knocked one of Kirishima's legs out from under him.

Kirishima fought the urge to harden his skin as he fell, instead opting to take hold of Bakugou's waist and yank hard, bringing the other boy down with him.

They were both laughing like maniacs now, as they fought to pin the other down. Kirishima was physically stronger, but it was hard to get a grip with Bakugou squirming around like that, too agile for him to hold for long.

Bakugou was struggling to free the leg that Kirishima had managed to pin, but when it jerked free, it toppled Kirishima forward onto Bakugou's chest.

He was quick to pull himself back up onto the support of his arms, but the damage had been done.

Kirishima could feel the blood rushing to his face at the way Bakugou's entire torso and waist were pressed flush against his own. His face so close that he could smell the caramel scent of his skin, and he found himself really enjoying the way that Bakugou's chest was heaving with each unsteady breath.

Bakugou shifted slightly, avoiding Kirishima's eyes. His own cheeks were quickly colouring, so with an awkward muttering of 'you're fuckin heavy', he pushed the other boy off and stood, facing away slightly.

Kirishima jumped up immediately after him and grinned, hoping to release some of the tension that had gathered in the air.

"Are you excited for the mall? I kinda am!" Kirishima offered, and he let out a breath he didn't know he had been holding when Bakugou rolled his eyes easily and let out his usual disapproving grunt.

"What time?" Bakugou muttered. He was still avoiding Kirishima's eyes, but he seemed much more relaxed- his shoulders were less hunched, and he wasn't facing away anymore.

"It's only 7am now. I think Ashido said that we would head off at 10am."

"Good. Gives me time to have a shower."

As he spoke, Bakugou yanked his gym bag off the ground and shoved it over his shoulder. He then paused, turning to look at Kirishima.

Kirishima blinked, staring back for a moment, before grinning toothily at the other boy.

Bakugou's mouth twitched, like he was about to smile back, but instead he turned and began walking towards the door.

"Text me when you want to leave or whatever." He called over his shoulder, and without waiting to hear a response, stalked out of the room.

~

Kirishima did text him.

Ashido had come knocking on his door at 10.30am- she had never been one for punctuality. He had been ready by then, of course, and shot Bakugou a text.

The public mall was undoubtedly impressive. It had four floors, all packed with a variation of shops. They really did try to cater for nearly everyone.

Not that it mattered, as Ashido apparently wanted to wander around in the candy store for most of the trip.

Sero had been happy to join her, and unsurprisingly, so had Kaminari.

Bakugou, on the other hand, looked deathly bored.

Kirishima tried to cheer him up for a bit, before finally noticing a store across from them that Bakugou was eyeing off. It was one of those 'great outdoors' places, that mostly stocked camping and fishing equipment, but Bakugou kept peering at it like Ashido with her candy.

Kirishima nudged Bakugou, who jumped slightly before levelling a glare at the red head. Kirishima just grinned and pointed at the other store.

"Wanna go in that one?"

Bakugou's eyes widened momentarily, before the corner of his mouth quirked up a bit.

"Yeah." he muttered, and Kirishima's grin grew bigger. Bakugou was so damn cute when he was flustered!

After quickly telling Ashido, he placed a hand on Bakugou's shoulder and led him out of the store in the direction of the other shop.

Bakugou didn't say anything, just allowed himself to be led, and Kirishima couldn't help but feel pride bubbling in his chest at that. Bakugou would never allow it from anyone else in the class.

The store was what he expected. Tents, fishing rods, a few canoes, and quite a wide selection of hiking gear. The latter was what Bakugou seemed most interested in, wandering through the isles and going from rack to rack, feeling the fabrics.

He paused on a spinning display, his fingertips grazing over the selection of bracelets. They were thick and woven braids in natural shades, some of them decorated with beads and varying animal teeth.

Kirishima watched curiously as Bakugou lifted a dark red bracelet off the rack, lifting it closer to his face to examine what appeared to be a small silver dragon charm attached to it.

Bakugou's face broke into a tiny smile, his eyes softening momentarily.

That was, until he caught Kirishima watching him out of the corner of his eye.

He immediately shoved the bracelet back on the rack and stalked off further down the aisle. His hands had returned to being shoved in his pockets and his shoulders hunched again.

Kirishima pursed his lips, trying not to laugh at the little show. He walked up, plucking the bracelet back off the shelf, and examined it himself. It was really nice actually; he could see why it caught Bakugou's eye.

Personally, he preferred the one beside it. It had the same thick braiding as the other bracelet, but instead of red, it was army green, and instead of a dragon, there was a charm of a tiny silver grenade.

Grinning, Kirishima took both bracelets to the counter and quickly bought them, before shoving them in his pocket and casually walked back to Bakugou.

"Where'd you go, Shitty Hair?" Bakugou mumbled.

Kirishima didn't answer at first, just laughed and nudged his shoulder into Bakugou's.

"Ashido and the others are out now. We should go back."

Bakugou grunted in a sulky tone, beginning to push past Kirishima to get to the rest of the group.

Kirishima suddenly changed his mind and grabbed Bakugou's hand, whirling him back around to face him. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion, but he didn't pull his hand away.

"Look," Kirishima murmured, using his free hand to pull the bracelets from his pocket. He held them both up, and Bakugou's jaw went slack for a second. His cheeks were rapidly turning pink, and his hand tightened on Kirishima's.

"I... um, I saw you looking at this one," Kirishima held forward the red one, and Bakugou dropped his hand, opting to instead take the bracelet, "So I got it for you. I thought they were cool too, so I wanted one as well."

He held up the green one with the grenade, and Bakugou's entire face exploded with colour the moment his eyes zeroed in on the charm hanging from it. He was shifting his weight back and forth, from one foot to the other, still blushing furiously.

Kirishima, watching for Bakugou's reaction carefully, reached for Bakugou's hand again.

When Bakugou didn't pull away, Kirishima quickly plucked the red bracelet out of Bakugou's grip, and gently clipped it into place on his left wrist.

He held his wrist for a moment, admiring the red against Bakugou's skin, before he let go and looked back up. Again, his eyes met with Bakugou's.

The blond still hadn't said anything. He was just staring, his eyebrows furrowed slightly like he was focusing really hard on a math equation.

Kirishima stared back steadily, unable to do much other than admire the vivid scarlet of Bakugou's eyes.

Bakugou's eyes dropped down away from Kirishima's face, and the red head was about to move away so they could leave the store when Bakugou grabbed for his hand. Kirishima realised that Bakugou was trying to take the green bracelet from his hand- hopefully so he could put it on Kirishima.

He smiled softly, releasing the bracelet into Bakugou's grip.

Bakugou rolled it in his hand for a moment, staring at it, before reaching over and clipping it swiftly onto Kirishima's wrist.

Kirishima had never smiled so hard in his life.

They were both blushing furiously now, but the moment didn't have the chance to linger, as Ashido had impatiently ran into the shop, yelling something about desperately needing food.

Kirishima smiled fondly at her, and both boys obediently followed her out of the store.

For the rest of the trip, Kirishima couldn't stop staring at the bracelet that he had bought- that Bakugou was wearing.

It felt strangely like making a claim that Bakugou was his.

He hoped he would be soon.
