Neil was sitting in Chamko cafe, patiently waiting for Ali, who was caught up with some work. After finishing his tasks, Ali sat beside Neil, who indulged in his own thoughts. Ali understood that something was bothering him, so he asked a waiter to bring two mugs of coffee for them. 

Ali - Neil, are you alright? 

Neil who was lost in his own world came back to reality and sighed.

Neil - I am alright. 

Ali - How marriage life is treating you? 

Neil smiles while thinking about Avni.

Neil - Good, I am experiencing a different relationship and so far it's been an amazing journey. 

Ali smiles, he is genuinely happy for Neil but he can't shrug away his doubts about Ananya; he still believes that she is somewhere associated with Avni, but he doesn't know how to keep his points in front of Neil. As much as he wants his answers, he can't create an indirect wedge between Neil and his wife; he doesn't want Neil to start using his cop's skills and doubt his own wife for some reason; little did he know; Neil is already sailing in the same boat of suspicion and wants answers just like him. 

Ali - So, excited to be a father in the future? (smiles)

Neil - It's a wonderful feeling. I still can't believe that I am rejoicing in this phase. (smiles)

Ali - I am glad you didn't ignore your responsibilities; you decided to be with Ananya and your baby in this phase and didn't leave them alone. Everyone doesn't have the guts to do so. 

Neil - What do you mean? (frowns) Ananya alone wasn't responsible for whatever happened; it was mutual, so why will I leave her to deal with this incident alone, moreover, why an innocent life will suffer due to our actions? Leaving her alone at this moment would be a sin in my vision. Ananya needs extra care and love in this phase so I will stand by her side throughout and will shower her with all the affection she deserves as my wife. 

Ali - I know Neil; I know you are a man of principles; that's why I said that every man doesn't have the guts to take a stand for his child or wife. Some men are spineless and are only concerned with society; they don't understand the pain that their family is undergoing due to their cowardness. (clenches his fist). 

Neil - It seems as if you have encountered such a man. 

Neil already has an idea regarding Ali's reference; he knew Ali was talking about Ashish Mehta, but Neil needs to act oblivious for digging out some information from Ali. 

Ali - Forget about him; he isn't worthy of discussion. (sighs) By the way, how come Mr. Supercop graced my cafe with his presence, don't you have any pending cases at the police station? (smirks)

Neil - I am here for investigation only, my dear friend. (smirks)

Ali - Investigation? (frowns)

Neil - I want information regarding the Mehta family. 

Ali - All of a sudden you want information regarding that pathetic family. Neil, don't indulge them in your life, especially for Ananya's safety. Why do you even want to know about them? 

Neil - As you said for Ananya's safety. Ali, that family planned an entire trap for extracting money from us; they were almost successful in their mission but destiny played a different game simultaneously and my family was spared from those venomous people, but I don't want to take any risk, especially when they can target Ananya for deceiving Riya. I know they were very rich in the past, what happened all of a sudden?

Ali chuckles. 

Ali - In the past, they used the money for spoiling other's life, Neil. Just analyze the wheel of life now they are the ones suffering due to their poor financial conditions. Justice served. (smirks)

Neil - Ali, how is your friend Avni associated with that family? 

Ali - Why are you interested in Avni all of a sudden? (frowns)

Neil - I was digging for information regarding the Mehta family and Avni's name is linked with them in the past. 

Ali sighs and tells him the entire information that Neil already knows. 

Neil- So, you are saying that Dayavanti killed Avni but her body wasn't recovered? 

Ali - I don't believe that Avni is dead, Neil. My nano tried to ask about Avni's whereabouts from that vile lady after Avni went on missing for a few days and Dayavanti proudly announced how she herself shot Avni. Nano and I were heartbroken, but we still have hope that Avni is fine because her heart is located on the right side. Dayavanti didn't know about this. 

Neil - You told me that Neela Mehta always supported Avni, then how did Ananya come into the picture? (frowns)

Ali - What do you mean? (shocked)

Neil - Neela ma is Ananya's mother, Ali. 

Ali - How is that possible, Neil? (shocked) Neela aunty never married anyone after her divorce from Ashish Mehta and even if she married someone then also she...(hesitantly) I know it's rude to say but she can't have kids, Dayavanti used to taunt her regarding this. (slightly angry). What if she adopted Ananya? 

Neil - There are no records of adoption. (sighs)

Ali - So, you are telling me that there is a possibility that Ananya is our Avni. (bit emotional) It is possible, Neil, what if Neela aunty saved her years ago and they both would have left Mumbai for Avni's safety. (hopeful eyes)

Neil - There is a possibility, Ali, but I still want to assure myself. (sighs) This case is way more complicated. 

Ali - why don't you discuss this with Ananya? she is your wife now so she might share something about Neela aunty with you. (hopefully)

Neil - I don't think so if she is Avni then she won't reveal her identity that easily, moreover I can't interrogate her harshly in this condition especially when she is the actual victim here. I take pride in law and justice Ali but the corrupt officers who were involved with the Mehta family for some money bring shame to our system and innocent people like Avni and her mother suffer the most. 

Ali - what are you going to do now? 

Neil - At this moment I don't know Ali. (sighs). 

Ali - If you got to know in the future that Ananya is actually Avni then would you leave her? Everyone judged her and insulted her just because she was an illegitimate child. No one tried to connect with her sadness Neil, no one was concerned about how difficult life she was living. At the age when other children used to live happily without any worries regarding the outside world that girl was fighting every sort of social taboo that targeted her mother. Her father was a cowardly person so he left them without even considering how much pain Avni and Ayesha aunty were going through. Will you also leave her? 

Neil - I have held her hand forever Ali, I will accept her with her true identity, not because of my child but because she is my wife to whom I want to give every sort of happiness. (smiles). I have to go now, I have some work. 

Neil left from there whereas Ali was sitting there smiling whole-heartedly. He knew that his best friend is in safe hands. Neil won't disappoint her like Ashish Mehta.
