Dani was asleep when a loud sound caused her to awake. It was a loud thud. Then she heard voices outside in the corridor. "Oh my-! Quin are you okay?" Dani recognized the voice almost immediately. She opened the door. Niomi was talking to a pile of books that had magically appeared on the floor. The books looked heavy. Quills were sticking out through a gap into mountain of books. Dani walked over to them and saw a small brown thing under the heaviest book. When she removed it, Quin's figure could clearly be seen. Dani picked the porcupine up.

"He's alive," she said. "Get him to the infirmary." Niomi nodded and took Quin in her arms. "He's most likely in shock and unable to shift back right now." Niomi nodded again and raced in the opposite direction. She seemed extremely worried. Once Niomi had left Dani put Quin's books on a table. Ryker had come out of his room.

"What happened?" He asked.

"I'm not entirely sure," She replied. "When I came out Niomi was glancing worriedly at a pile of books. I moved one and saw Quin, as a porcupine, unconscious. Niomi seemed really worried."

"More worried than usual?" Ryker asked.

"Yes." Ryker smiled as he looked up at the ceiling.

"Maybe, it's a me-you situation," he suggested and Dani nodded in agreement.

"A me-you situation, before our current me-you situation." Ryker nodded.

"Exactly," he said and he looked around the corridor. "I wonder what caused Quin to shift and drop his books on himself? Usually shifting is premeditated."

"I know. Is there possibly a sickness causing shifting to be uncontrollable?" Ryker shook his head.

"None that I've heard of."

"And what would one call such disease? Shifta unctrolla?" Dani suggested. She and Ryker shared a look. Both shifters shifted. "Ryker ride on my back, we're going investigating." Dani felt Ryker's claws dig into her back. She raced out the door. Once they were outside, Ryker released his claws. The pair looked around for a while. "I can't pick up anything. You?"

"I can't see anything," Ryker said as he shifted back into a human, causing his voice to be distorted for a few seconds. Dani also shifted back. The pair walked back into the building. Dani saw Niomi's frame approaching them. She skidded to a halt in front of them. Her eyes were shining gratefully.

"The nurse said he'll be okay!" She said, any sign of introvertedness vanished in her excitement. Dani definitely thought the Niomi-Quin situation was a Ryker-her situation now. At least a Ryker-her situation before their current Ryker-her situation. The Ryker-her situation before the serenade. She smiled as she thought of the of the memory. It seemed like much more than 5 days ago. "You guys had it so easy," Niomi suddenly murmured.

"What?" They asked in unison. Their look at each other said, Jinx! You owe me a soda! Dani let out a small giggle. Niomi's yellow face seemed pinker.

"Nothing!" She replied. A girl had joined her. Her appearance seemed... Off. Her face had a strange tint to it and she smelled of alcohol and marajuana.

"Niomi, you worthless little brat, leave you idiot." On instinct Dani changed and bit down hard on the girl's hand, drawing blood. The girl whimpered.

"If you're calling Niomi worthless, then you're basically telling yourself your worthless too. In fact, you're telling everyone they're worthless. And just because you are richer than all of us, does not mean you can bully us. Was it not your fault..." Dani stopped. "W-was it not your fault my sister at-attempted...." Dani couldn't go on. "You're a bad person, Nona." Niomi and Ryker just stared at Dani. Dani walked off and slammed her dorm's door.

A week had passed. Dani was in Biology, listening to the teacher, who's stomach was clearly showing her condition now, if the class had any doubts. "I wonder when she's due," Ryker whispered. Dani examined the teacher.

"Maybe around November," Dani guessed. "I'm not a doctor, don't take my word for it."

"I know," He said, and then he changed the subject,"Do you have a guess to what I want to be when I leave school?"

"My first instinct would be you're gonna be a performer. You have a talent for it." Ryker smiled and blushed.

"Aw, thanks! I also want to be a singer, and I want you to star in some of them.  The songs I mean." Dani blushed.

"O-okay. If you want."
