Chapter 6:
"Thank you so much. I really appreciate it." Rob picked me up from the corner and took me home with him. I didnt explain what happened, I didnt even want to think about it. All he knew was that I needed a place to stay.
"Dont mention it. Is there anything else I can get you?" The couch was mine for the night and I could help myself to whatever I wanted in the kitchen. He'd done enough for me.
"No I'm good. Thank you so much, Rob. I owe you one." He smiled and kissed my head.
"Dont worry about it Alli. Sleep well." I nodded in response. He walked back to his bedroom to cuddle up to his lovely wife, Nancy.
That night I couldnt sleep. All I could think about was Jules. She could be dead right now and I left her. Fear took over my body. I left a girl for dead. How could I live with myself?
Quietly getting up, from the couch, I folded up the blanket and grabbed my coat. The door was quiet when I opened it and I was careful when I shut it again.
Outside the wind blew cold. The night was quiet for the city and not a lot of people were out. Recalling the way back to the warehouse, I began walking.

Everybody that was there a couple hours before, was now gone leaving the place quiet and empty. I looked over to where Jules was last laying, but she was gone. A pool of blood was still there, staining the floor. It had dried a dark brown.
Did they take her? Maybe she called someone. I started to get worried when I heard someone behind me. Their footsteps were light. Turning around I saw her.
"I thought I told you not to come back." A hand held her wound. Jules' black shirt was now slick with blood. I covered my mouth.
"I need to call someone." My brain couldnt get my hands to move.
"Stop crying. You're going to be fine." She took a couple steps closer.
"I'm not worried about me." Getting closer to her I let her fall onto me. Our lips touched lightly for a second. My breathing hitched and my heart rate began to increase.
"I love having so much power over you." Her laugh turned into a hard cough.
Reaching into her back pocket I felt around for a phone. "Oh, Alli. We're going to to this right here?" She laughed again.
Grabbing the phone, I unlocked it and dialed one of her people.

"She needs to rest." I haven't left Jules' side since her men picked us up. Her hand was limp in mine. A hand rested on my shoulder. "Shes going to be fine. We'll come get you when she wakes up." A part of me refused to leave.
Finally, I got up and left her room. One of the men insisted she was going to be fine and he would watch over her. Of course we couldn't call a medical professional, we would be arrested right away.
I walked down the hall sightly dizzy. I assumed it was because I hadn't eaten for awhile. One of Jules' men came up to me and asked me something, but I couldn't hear. I remember him nodding and walking me over to a table. Food was sat in front of me. "Eat." He said.
I didn't realize how hungry I was until I took the first bite. The plate of food was gone before I knew it. I felt better physically, but I was still thinking about Jules. I missed her.
"Thank you." I told the man.
"It's late miss. You should probably catch some z's." I looked around and it was dark.
"How long was I with Jules?"
"About a day or so," he looked down at his watch. "It's about 2:30 now." I nodded and thanked him again for the food. I knew where my room was so I just told him he could leave me here.
I sat for probably an hour before I got up. I couldn't sleep alone tonight. Jules was dying and I needed to be with her. I walked down the hall to the room where Jules was in. A man was sitting with her like promised. We exchanged smiles.
"You should sleep, miss. It's getting to be sunrise." I shook my head.
"I was going to sleep in here tonight if that's okay." He nodded and went to shut the curtains. He left us alone after a few minutes.
The bed was empty on the other side. Jules looked peaceful when she rested. I didn't risk waking her. As quietly as I could I undressed and got in bed. The coolness of the comforter chilled me. Jules looked nice and warm. Carefully scooting over her way, I cuddled up next to her.
Her skin against mine calmed me, yet scared me. She groaned slightly at the new contact, but soon returned the gesture. Soon I feel into a deep sleep.
