HUNTER's POV

I still couldn't believe what happened in the past two weeks of my life. I thought I had to start all over again and start to accept that my father already disowned me but I was wrong. Now, I'm here in front of HGC again. I thought I wouldn't be able to step foot here ever again but life has another plan for me and now, I could say that everything is beginning to fall into place. At least, all my effort didn't go to waste. Now, Angela could finally be able to be with her family again and she's happy about it.

"Good morning, sir" One of my employees greeted me. I nodded my head and greeted her back. I looked at my wristwatch and it was already 10 minutes before 9.

I fixed my suit and when I thought that I looked alright, I went inside the building. People greeted me with a surprise look on their faces. Maybe because they were wondering what I was doing there. After my father relieved me from managing the company, he announced that Aaliyah would be the one to replace me but that didn't happen.

I greeted the employees back with my usual business-like demeanor and then I went inside the elevator.

Upon reaching my office, I just rechecked the files that I was holding before going straight to the boardroom. Today was a very important day for the company and I was hoping that this would finally fix everything.

"You're late on your first day" My father rebuked when I entered the boardroom.

"I'm on time, papa" I answered and then greeted back the every member of the board who came and welcomed me back to the company. Almost everyone were already present except for the people that I wanted to see the most. I sat on my seat.

"I already told you, you're late when you come on the exact time. You should be here at least 10 minutes before the time. A good business man is always early" My father whispered to me. Before, if he said something like this to me, I would've gotten pissed off but it's different now.

Yes. Everything between me and my father was already fixed for good.

"Fine. I'll be here earlier next time" I whispered back before I began discussing the agenda of the meeting. I announced that I would be assuming my position again and everybody looked pleased with it. We started going through the company's performance review since the problem began until now and the problem totally worsened.

If only my little sister Aaliyah showed up, this would never happened. She told me that she would come home from wherever she was but then she couldn't come because of an 'important' matter. She called me exactly two weeks ago...

"What the hell, Aali! I thought we already talked about this and you said yes?! What happened to you now? Why couldn't you come back here?!" I couldn't help but to get pissed off. This was the first time she broke a promise and I felt disappointed. She was the only person I knew who could handle the problem in our company, who is capable and that I could trust. But now, she's telling me that she couldn't come to help.

"I'm sorry, Hunt. I know I said yes the other day but I can't leave right now. This is important too. I hope you understand me" I heaved a sigh and squeezed my eyes shut. My head suddenly throbbed painfully and I guess because of stress caused my too much thinking.

"How can I understand you when I don't even know where you are right now? Tell me honestly, Aali, what are you really doing in that place?" I asked her sternly, willing to make her spill the beans.

"I'm here in Santorini right now----"

"What?! And what the hell are you doing there?!" This wasn't good. She's far away from home. Santorini is almost 10 hours away from Athens by car.

She didn't answer for a couple of seconds.

"Hunt...I'm sorry but I can't tell you right now" That tone of her gave me the idea that she was hiding something from me and I guess I already have an idea. Damn!

"Aaliyah, you're still young----"

"Hunt! I'm already 21 for god's sake!" She cut me off with an angry voice. My jaw flexed.

"Tell me honestly, who are you with right now?"

"Hunt---"

"Tell me or I'll go there right now and drag you home myself" I warned her using the tone that would tell her that I'm serious and mad. Most of the time, she would just shrug off what I'm saying to her but she knows when I'm already serious enough for her to listen and tell the truth.

"I-I just needed to confirm something. Please, Hunt, don't get mad at me. Just let me finish this and when I confirm that he's not whom I'm looking for, I'll come home as soon as possible. Just let me do this....I really need to do this because if I don't, I won't be able to move on" I frowned and got confused all of a sudden. Her voice was sad.

"What are you talking about? Do you have a problem?"

"I'll tell you some other time, Hunt. I hope you won't get mad at me. I know that the company is in trouble but I can't just go home without getting what I want. Just this once, Hunt. Let me be for now"

"What else could I do? It sounds important. Just be sure that you're not in any trouble, okay? Be careful" It was all I could say. After that, she bid her goodbye.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard Mr. Kozlov's voice, one of the BOD.

"Aren't we going to wait for Mr. Vitalis, Mr. Lambert and Mr. Peters first before we go through important details, Mr. President?" He asked after the agenda of the meeting finally finished.

I was about to answer when the door opened and the furious face of Mr. Vitalis came into view alongside with his friends, Mr. Lambert and Mr. Peters. Looked like they already heard the good news.

"What is the meaning this, Mr. Hatzis?!" Mr. Vitalis asked angrily as he handed me some documents. The corner of my lips lifted and met his gaze. His face was already reddened because of rage.

"Oh, looks like you already received the good news, Mr. Vitalis" I said matter-of-factly. He gritted his teeth.

"You can't do this to me! I am still a major stockholder of this company and a member of the board!"

"Oh no, you're wrong, Mr. Vitalis" He scowled at me.

"What do you mean by that?"

"The voting is officially done and everyone of us here voted. Everyone of us agreed to let you go for good. I already prepared all the documents"

"No! This can't be! You can't do this! Hemeros, what is the meaning of this? I thought we already have an agreement?" He asked my father. He looked so desperate. I wanted to shake my head in disbelief.

My father stood up and stared at Mr. Vitalis with contempt.

"Did you really think that you could outwit me, Josef? Who do you think I am? A Hatzis would never be manipulated by the likes of you!"

"I don't know what you're talking about!" Mr. Vitalis was almost shouting, trying his hardest to prove his innocence but we knew better.

"Don't act innocent, Mr. VItalis. We already know everything. You were stealing from the company and have been using a dummy account and fake names. You were so confident into leaving this company because you thought that you could leave without getting caught. But that's not all to it. You even released important information to the company's number one competitor in the industry because they paid you a large sum of money" Mr. Lambert and Mr. Peters suddenly got alarmed and looked at Mr. Vitalis quizzically. They looked lost.

"Is that true, Josef?" They asked Mr. Vitalis in unison. I wanted to laugh of how stupid and gullible they were. They didn't even realized that Mr. Vitalis has been using them in order to get what he wants and to get away from his offences.

"Of course, that's the truth. I don't know why you're supporting him when he's even stabbing you both in the back" My father interrupted.

"That's not true! Don't believe them. They don't have enough evidence. They just want to get rid of us for good" Mr. Vitalis was already sweating coldly but he looked like he's far from giving up. Of course, he would do anything to get sympathy.

"Read all those documents that you're holding because they're the solid proof of your betrayal. You can go now. Let's settle this in court" I said. To my surprise, he crumpled the documents which I gave him a while ago and then stared at my father furiously.

"You can't do this to me, Hatzis! I supported you when you started this company and if it wasn't for my help, you wouldn't make this company big!"

"Yes. You helped me back then and I would never forget that that's why even though I was against of the arranged marriage between our children, I said yes. But enough is enough! You can't make me look stupid in my own company anymore! I trusted you but you wasted that trust I gave you. You're a selfish backstabbing b*stard" My father retorted with an emotionless glare. Mr. Vitalis was clenching his teeth the whole time while looking at everyone in the boardroom.

"You're all going to pay for this" He threatened before he stormed out of the room.

My father adjourned the meeting and the BOD members went out one by one.

"Is that true, papa? You were really going to force me into marrying Georgina because of what Mr. Vitalis contributed in this company before?" I asked my father the moment we were left alone. He heaved a sigh and then smiled bitterly.

"I'm sorry that I was selfish, Hunt. I didn't think about your feelings back then. I thought, I was doing the right thing but I was wrong. Thankfully, we discovered the truth before it's too late" I smiled at him and then I couldn't help myself, I hugged him because of happiness.

At last, I finally understood what my father has been doing this entire time.

I still could remember that day when I went home two weeks ago after Angela called me...

While driving my car home, I was trying to think of whoever that visitor Angela was referring to. I felt happy because finally, I could feel that Angela was finally happy, whatever the reason was; I'm thankful.

I went to her brother the moment I heard that he arrived in Greece. Thankfully, I had the chance to talk to him but it didn't go that well. I thought, it was already hopeless. I thought, we wouldn't have any choice other than move on with our lives and forget about our families. But I guess, something good happened and that's what I'm going to find out.

When I arrived home, I quickly parked my car and then went inside the house quickly. I was so anxious to see who the visitor was but when I reached the living room and saw the people whom Angela was talking to, I lost my voice.

I couldn't do anything other than stare at the people who were staring at me too. I couldn't believe that they're here. What's happening?!

I noticed Angela stand up from her seat and then strode her way towards me. I blinked for a couple of times when I felt her kissed me on the cheek.

I was about to ask her what's happening when one of them spoke.

"What are you still doing there, Hunt? You look like a fool standing there without even saying anything" My father said. My jaw flexed.

"What are you doing here?" I asked with a stoic face. I couldn't believe what I'm seeing right now. My father was actually together with Regan Novell, who remained silent while staring at me and sitting on the single sofa.

"Let's sit down first, baby. Don't get mad, okay? They're here to talk to the two of us" Angela said and then pulled me towards the couch. I went along with her. I got worried the moment I saw the visitors she was talking about to because I though they're here to say what they told us the other day but it looked like everything's fine. In fact, she looked happy.

"Are you okay, baby? I hope they didn't tell you anything that made you sad again" I whispered to her worriedly. She sweetly smiled at me.

"I'm fine. Just listen to them for now, okay?" I sighed and then nodded my head as a response.

I shifted my gaze towards the two visitors.

"I hope you're not here to give my girlfriend something to cry about again, Mr. Novell"

"That's the last thing I wanted to do and if I remember it right, you were the one who made her cry before to the point that she got depressed"

"Reg, you promised to be nice" Angela rebuked.

"Fine. I'll keep my mouth shut for now. Mr. Hatzis, I think it's your turn to explain why we're here" Regan said. My father cleared his throat before he spoke with a serious face.

"We're here because we agreed to talk to the two of you and patch things between us all. I know it's been tough for you both this pass few days because of everything that happened. The thing is, we just did that in order to test you, Hunt" I frowned confusedly.

"What are you talking about?"

"When I heard of what you did to Angela when she had amnesia, I got mad at you and decided to give you a lesson. I contacted Mr. Novell here and then we agreed to put your love for his sister to a test" I gritted my teeth and anger started to boil inside me.

"You see, Hunt, we're not happy of what you did and we wanted to see if you really loved Angela. We did what we thought was right back then in order to give you a lesson and prevent Angela from getting hurt by you any further in case you don't really love her" My fists clenched tightly in rage. How could they do that to us?! I felt like they toyed with our emotions and that made my anger escalated.
