I hadn't seen Amelia in quite some weeks. Even so that this was her last 2 weeks in the UK before she headed out to Tokyo. I had followed her Instagram catching glimpses of how she was doing. Flo forgave me for what I did luckily. Today I would go watch her competition with my mom and Cisca. My mom screamed my name from down the stairs that we needed to go. I ran down the stairs and stepped into the car. I wore a pair of black jeans with a grey shirt. We drove to the show location while my mom and Cisca were talking about all kind of things.

Lando: "is uhm... Amelia gonna be there?"

Cisca: "she's always there. She rides almost every competition there is remember? Besides she helps Flo warm up ect giving het the last tips before she goes into the ring."

I'm gonna see her again after all those weeks. I sighed softly before I looked out of the window not listening to whatever the conversation in the car was about. When we arrived I wanted to go back I didn't think Amelia would want to see me. It was to late already so might as well just go. I walked after my sister and mom. We arrived at the warm up arena. Flo was riding the white Gin. Amelia caught my eyes immediately after.

She was wearing her white breeches with a white button up and her jacket for the Olympics. Dark blue with a red collar, red buttons and red stitches. Her brown hair was hanging loose over her shoulders. Her jacket hanging open. She had an earphone with microphone in her ear connected to the radio that hung on her trousers. Her mouth moving as she looked to Flo. Flo nodded in response in her way before she asked the gelding for a canter. Amelia pointed at a jump which Flo then took. After 12 minutes Amelia caught eye of us. She walked towards us and walked to the fence where we were standing behind. She gave my mom and Cisca a hug before climbing thru the fence. Her voice was softer when she talked to me.

Amelia: "hi."

Lando: "hi."

Amelia: "oh shut up Flo. You have Bette things then complain about me. Get your ass over those damn jumps."

She clicked off something on her radio before she smiled at me softly. She looked at the time and raised her eyebrows. She placed a kiss on my cheek and then squinted her eyes close before opening them again to look straight into mine.

Amelia: "sorry... uhm... tell Flo I wish her good luck."

Lando: "I will."

I placed a kiss on her cheek to make her feel less bad before she smiled shyly at me. She walked away towards god knows where. After a while Flo had done her rounds and untacked Gin. Amelia had helped tacking off making me wonder even more where she went until Flo started talking about it.

Flo: "how was the course walk for you and Sten?"

Amelia: "looks really good. The round looks like one for us so we might win the FEI championship. Really hope so... would be a dream to win it with him so quick already."

Sten... I have never seen the horse. Only on pictures on her Instagram and I've heard some things about him from Flo. After they were done untacking Gin we all went to a brown horse. The horse was at least 1.80 meter. The horse was build for the sport you could see it very clear.

Lando: "how big is he?"

Amelia: "1.84 meter."

I widened my eyes as she took a chair. She stood on it beside him in the grooming place as she took a needle and a straw. She finished of his plaits as Flo was cleaning him a little further. They tacked the brown big horse up and then Amelia made herself ready. She placed on the blue boots and blue helmet she got for the Olympics as well before Flo held her leg. They counted to three and then Amelia jumped up while Flo pushed her up. Amelia landed in the saddle and placed her feet in the stirrups as the brown horse that was standing so calmly was now moving on his place from the excitement. Amelia took the reins in both her hands as Flo placed the spurs on her boots. Amelia gave Sten the sign to walk away and they went towards the warm up arena. She warmed up the huge horse. His steps looked so elegant and easy as they started warming up. She started warming up with jumps then too and after 25 minutes she let the brown horse go to the main arena. It was a different one from Flo's arena. Flo wiped the last things clean before she went in. We had great places to watch which was great. Her round was going amazing! She and the fastest time so far and she would beat it with a clear round as well! 2 more jumps... clear so one more jump to go...

She almost fell off but staid seated. She let the horse jump again. This time clearing it but being out of the time and having some penalty points. She let the horse walk out of the arena as we waited her up there. She cursed under her breath and started softly talking in German. Probably that she fucked it up. Flo took the jacket from Amelia before she went into the other arena again. She went to jump again. Sten refusing again and again at the highest jump making Amelia frustrated. She looked to Flo and nodded. Flo nodded back before she disappeared. She came back with a whip in her hands. She handed it to Amelia before coming back to us.

Lando: "a whip?"

Flo: "he can jump way higher then this. Amelia doesn't use it unless necessary and even then little."

She let the horse go at the jump again she only moved her hand with the whip back a little like she was going to use it but didn't. The horse jumped it bigger then needed.

Amelia: "Yes! Good boy Sten!"

She gave the whip back to Flo before she jumped some more of the jump which went perfect again. She let the horse catch breath while walking around the arena still. She looked at the big clock in the middle of the arena and looked at Flo. We walked to the exit/entrance of the arena. Flo handed Amelia her show jacket again as she held the reins of Sten leading him. Another round?

Flo: "you guys can do this!"

Amelia: "let's hope I don't fuck this up again."

Flo: "you won't."

Amelia thanked Flo before she clicked her tongue picking up the reins. She flew around the 1.60 jumps clearing them all. I held my heart when she rode to the last jump. She was 10 seconds faster then the number 1 who was also clear. Amelia screamed at the top of her lungs as she hugged the still cantering horse his neck while keeping the reins still in her left hand. She arrived back at us and wiped a tear away from her eye. Flo laid her hand on Amelia her leg.

Flo: "only jump off and then we know if your the FEI championship for the 4th time."

Amelia was smiling widely as she handed Flo her jacket again. We waited around for 8 minutes exactly when we went back to the arena and Amelia pulled on her jacket again as her eyes flickered thru the course. A nervous look on her face.

Lando: "Lia?"

She hummed softly as her eyes flicked to mine. The nervousness visible in her eyes. I laid my hand on her right leg and smiled softly at her.

Lando: "you got this."

Amelia: "thanks."

She looked up to see a girl looking bitchy her way. She glared back at the girl and just sighed. She trotted into the arena and when she got the sign she could start when she was ready she let the horse galop around the arena as fast as he could while jumping all jumps clear. She rocked her fist in the air as she cleared and was now 7 seconds faster then her last round which was absolutely insane. I looked to the girl who was waiting to go now and her face went a little pale. Amelia came out of the arena and instead of going to the cool down arena she jumped off. Flo and Amelia immediately wrapping each other into a tight hug. Soft sobs were exchanged between the girls before she also hugged my mother and Cisca. She placed her helmet on top of Cisca's head and Cisca widened her eyes.

Cisca: "your gonna let me get on Sten?"

Amelia: "of course. Come I'll give you a push."

She helped Cisca mount the brown horse. Cisca placed her sneakers in the stirrups as she picked up the reins. She let the horse walk as Flo and my mother followed her. I did too but turned around to see where Amelia was. She was kneeling down as she had her head buried in her hands. I kneeled down next to her and laid my hand on her shoulder. She looked up at me with red teary eyes and a big smile on her face. She softly shook her head while looking at me.

Amelia: "I can't believe this..."

A small huff came from her mouth before we both straightened up. I wrapped her into a hug and placed a soft kiss on her cheek.

Lando: "come on."

She smiled at me and followed me to my mom and Flo. She had pulled out her gloves as she needed to wait 10 more minutes before she knew it 100% sure if she would be the FEI championship.
