Chapter 1
You take a deep sigh as you look in the mirror, dressed in white silky clothes that somewhat make you look like a goddess. You always appear lavishly beautiful, possibly because you are a descendant of the heavenly principles of celestial beings. Undoubtedly, those honored with such a bloodline are blessed not only with beauty, but also with unimaginable qualities. Soon, you will have the honor of ruling the land, as you are to be crowned the queen of Celestia, the realm of the seven principles and creator of the seven heavens. It is the kingdom of gods who created gods, a floating land above. Celestia is known by many names and has many descendants. The land has birthed seven powerful kingdoms of Teyvat,
And once you become queen, you will change the tyrannical ways of your father's rule, which not only ruined Celestia but also affected many kingdoms that originated from this sacred land.
And that includes justice and the reasoning that led to the fall of a nation named Khaenri'ah. The country was uprooted and crushed like a weed removed from the garden of gods simply solely because it was not established by Celestia, but rather by its own people, an autonomous, independent kingdom that was not under the influence or tied to Celestia. As a result, your kingdom did not feel superior; rather, it felt judged. Consequently, Celestia compelled its seven kingdoms to wage war against Khaenri'ah, leading to a conflict known as the 'Cataclysm.' This war ultimately resulted in the demise of a nation of Khaerni'ah that ruled solely through the manpower of its own people. It marked the beginning of a war that claimed the lives of numerous royals and innocent individuals.
It's an event that isn't even talked about, and to this day, you don't know much about it or why your kingdom moved on from that dreadful war, and why for 500 years kept so quiet. Your father always told you that Celesta was hurt by the world, and Khaenri'ah was considered a sinful land because it had no connection with Celestia, as they possessed forbidden knowledge. You felt uneasy about the sudden eradication of all traces of the destroyed land. What happened to the original seven, such as Lord Rukkhadevata, Eeria, Focalors, Makoto, and others? If your father wanted to erase Khaemri'ah why also erase the original 7 who sacrificed their lives? Moreover, what about Khaenri'ah? Have they deserved such treatment? Did they truly challenge Celestia, as your father had mentioned? However, it is worth noting that Khaenri'ah did eliminate such formidable rulers like the Seven so they were truly powerful for sure. Either way it remains uncertain why your father truly obliterate tha man made kingdom since he met demise at the hands of his own offspring. Why? Because he raised greedy children who sought punishment against Teyvat for the kingdom's transgressions. The old mans unwavering obsession with expanding his progeny, ensuring a constant backup, led to his neglect of personal safety against his own children.
Nine of his children perished in the pursuit of the crown, engaging in savage conflicts until their untimely demise, leaving behind only the girl who was believed to bring about celestial's downfall
Which was you. A mere half-blood, that was branded as the original sin of Celestia.
"Ms. Anotatos se Deimurge... your coordination has commenced" Your gaze fixed upon your servant, the very eyes that resembled those of your mother, who was scorned for her mixed heritage. It is ironic— almost amusing now that these very eyes of a half-breed will ascend to become their queen. The maid squirmed uncomfortably, her head bowed under your piercing gaze. With a nod, you rose from your opulent vanity brushing pass her without a word.
"Ill take it from here Silvia" Upon turning your head, you find yourself locking eyes with one of your two knights. A tall man with light blonde hair and sea blue eyes, his irises shaped like stars. Dainsleif, was the name of the captain of the royal guards who possessed eyes that bore a sense of familiarity, though you could not pinpoint from where - a sight or a tale, perhaps. Your mother assigned this man, accompanied by another knight, as your "protectors." However, you often detect a subtle resentment in his gaze, yet he remains steadfastly reliable. And you trusted him since he himself had been by your mothers side, you know theirs more to his story but you gave up trying to find out the man with star irises.
"Today holds great importance, and as her personal knight, it is imperative that we provide her with guidance" a honeyed charismatic voice says. You didn't need to turn around to recognize the source of that charismatic voice. It belonged to Ayato, your graceful and unpredictable main personal guard. The cunning man nodded at the women before proceeding toward you, brushing past Dainslief, who observed him like a hawk.
The woman, flustered by Ayato, nodded and hurriedly departed, while Ayato stood by your side, accompanied by Dainslief. One would expect the two guards assigned by you to be in common ground, but Ayato's subtle gesture showed a heavy tension between them that's been going on for years.
The women flustered by Ayato nodded, running off as Ayato stood by your side accompanied by Dainslief. You'd expect two guards that have been assigned by you to be on common grounds but with Ayato's subtle gesture back their the tension between the two 'guards' were heavy. You assume their banter was due to Ayato being suddenly designated as your personal knight out of nowhere by your sister, the only person you trusted in this family, while Dainslief was merely assigned to "watch over you." Ayato grew closer to you because he was new, while Dainslief, who had years of experience and had practically been by your side since you were a baby, could only watch from a distance as a royal captain guard. It's probably jealousy to which you thought it was cute from the monotone man.
When Ayato said, "As her personal knight," Dainslief's jaw clenched slightly, and he noticed the quick sidelong glance as if he was showing Dainslief his place. 'Tch this kid' Despite the fact that Ayato's renowned knight clan posed no threat towards You, Dainslief still found him.... unsettling, especially since he couldn't comprehend or read Ayato's intentions. Focusing his attention onto you he makes sure to notice anything off about you makeup, accessories, clothing anything that any of these servants placed onto you that only he can see beneath those unique eyes of his.
"Youve came a long way your highness...your mother would be proud of the queen youve become" Ayato says fondness in those blue eyes of his. You couldn't help but display a sad and gentle smile, considering the immense heartbreak, abuse, and manipulation endured by your mother and this family by your tyrant father. Upon hearing that, the weight on your shoulders, which was destined to increase, was somewhat alleviated by Ayato's words. And it somewhat strived you to go forward.
Suddenly, you noticed an obstacle hindering your movement: Dainslief's hand. His cloak swirled gracefully as he positioned his arm in front of you, remaining silent and expressionless looking forward. He sensed something unwanted. You knew better than to judge dainsleifs instinct which had proven its worth countless times, as he still his hand shielding you reaffirming his unwavering protection.
Dainslief's face hardened "That man is back" He said in a brittle rough tone. You only blinked at him confused and before you and Ayato could say anything a servant came from a corner breathless. "S-sir adonis is here milady" Dainslief's facial expression remained unchanged; it's not the first time his unique intuition has been proven correct.
Ayato's charming face slowly turned into a pinched expression, his gloved hand already making its way to his sword, his gloved fingers slowly wrapping around the pommel tightly making an eerie tightening sound. "What an unexpected coincidence that he has appeared right after hearing the news." Your heart sank upon hearing that name as you scoffed, clearly displeased by both the news and Ayato's words. You were well aware of the reasons behind the unexpected presence of your former spouse, who was once your first love.
"Shall we deal with him?" Dainself says his own gloved hand wrapping around his own sword. You shake your head as you looked at the terrified servant. "I'll speak to him alone" You say with confidence. Both men's eyes slightly widened. Dainslief sighed as if not agreeing with your sudden decision. "Alone? I believe its sudden–" Ayato interrupted, placing a glove hand on his chest for once agreeing with the knight captain. "I agree we don't know what Adonis true intentions are milady" Ayato says with worry.
You inhaled through your nose, grateful for their unwavering protection, but you knew you couldn't rely on them for shelter like you did when you were little. You wished not to be recognized as a queen who constantly concealed herself and relied on her servants as if she were a helpless child but to stand up to yourself especially to a man who shattered her heart and tried to justify his actions. Turning your head, you met their gaze with your own two eyes shining like stars for a moment. "I will be crowned queen today...and as a queen, there are times when I must act independently. I am no longer a fragile princess in distress," you say confidently.
Dainslief cast a scrutinizing gaze upon you, while Ayato emitted a chuckle a almost proud one.
The servant who stood there awkwardly stared at you in admiration. "Ah, our queen remains as confident as ever, it seems," Ayato hummed with amusement. Dainslief positioned his arms across his broad chest, as if he was some protective father. "If you are indeed confident and no longer seek shelter beneath your mother's embrace as you once did... then very well....However, we shall remain stationed outside the door for the sake of your safety," conceded the blonde. You turned away rolling your eyes for a minute that didn't get pass Dainsleif.
"Fine," you grumbled as you turned towards the servant following closely behind, until you arrived at a pair of double doors. "He's in here," the servant informed you. Your heart raced as you folded your trembling hands in your lap, catching a brief glimpse of worry in Dain's sidelong glance before the doors swung open. Your jaw clenched as you beheld the man seated on one of the lavish sofas, and you entered the room, not glancing back at your knights. Your focus was solely fixated on this man, as a whirlwind of emotions engulfed you - sadness, anger, heartbreak, love, and the quest for closure.
Adonis Oristano. A duke from Fontaine, some adopted brother of a famous duke, the man who you were forced to marry and innocently fell in love with, the man who promised you everything. Only to cheat on you. Adonis stood up walking up to you– to closely showing some puppy dog face as his mouth immediately open to shower some excuse. "My dear (y/n) you must understand the position I was in I had no choice to marry lady An—" But you were quick to interrupt with a scoff. "And for 3 years after our divorce you finally are in regret?" You step close, your anger rising up until....it died down. "For three long years, Adonis, I endured silently while you carried on a clandestine affair. You chose to ignore my pain. But now that I have become queen, you suddenly desire to stand by my side?" you say with a blend of sadness and anger, swiftly suppressing the lump in your throat feeling such heartbreak you didn't want him to see.
He was the same as any other man you've met. He had the desire to secure the throne. With your ascension to the role of queen, his decision to prioritize power over matters of the heart became understandable. There is no certainty whether he might repeat such actions. "If I choose to stay, how many more of your relationships must I witness? If I decide to take you back... ultimately, as a man of influential lineage, a woman's emotions hold no significance; only power and the procreation of children matter. We are treated as mere livestock, our wombs meant solely for reproduction!" Memories of your mother, sister-in-laws, and father caused your hands to clench into fists. How naive and foolish you were to believe him and assume that he would grant you a happily ever after. Suddenly, someone grabbed your arm and spun you around forcibly. "My father sent me to war, facing a formidable enemy. To establish a peaceful alliance, I had no alternative but to marry Loui, the son of the Duke!! I bestowed the title of empress upon his daughter, Anee. I-I apologize, (Y/N)." He begged pathetically.
Your heart skipped a beat until you remembered the person it was meant for, prompting you to swiftly retract your arm without making any noise to avoid alerting your guards. Your eyes flashed with anger. Did he truly believe you to be foolish? Adonis stared at you in surprise, and in his eyes, you sensed a hint of restraint. "Don't touch me as if I'm your wife," you snarled. You felt your eyes change, and a celestial, godlike aura enveloped you, causing even this pitiful man to tremble.
"You should have told me instead of me finding out about you two in bed! On the night of your wedding, I looked like a fool, you pathetic bastard," you answered sharply. "Now, excuse me--" You were about to turn, but then he interrupted, "W-wait, I-i beg you to let me at least say..." He sniffled. "That I love you." You paled as your anger suddenly surged, and you slapped him across the face with full force. Without holding back your power, you sent him flying a few feet away. You had almost forgotten you had a godlike ability but you didn't have any regret.
Guess Dainsleif and Ayato heard as they immediately sprang into action, drawing their swords as the doors suddenly swung open. "Your highness!!" they exclaimed upon confirming your safety. Dainslief swiftly approached you and firmly grasped your shoulders. "Did that thing touch you? Are you unharmed?" he inquired. You momentarily froze at his touch but nodded gently, reciprocating the gesture by holding his hands. The man flinched as he cleared his throat turning the other way as he suddenly stepped back his hands slipping from yours "No, it didn't... I inflicted more damage..." Suddenly, a blur of blue streaked past, accompanied by a commanding deep voice uttering, "Remain still!" A rush of water followed, something was severed, and a pained scream was heard.
"My arm!! Putain de mere!!" Adonis emits a scream as his arm, now severed, lies at a distance, still gripping a syringe. "Please watch your language in the presence of your future queen," Ayato calmly requests, briefly glancing in his direction. Blood stains his cheek and droplets on his white suit. "Show off" Dainsleif muttered, rolling his eyes as he turned his attention to the door. "And Cease your incessant screaming," he says sternly to Adonis seeing you sigh at your ex husbands piercing screams. Dainsleif summons the guards to conduct an investigation and requests a nurse in your celestial language as guards flooded in the room. "Place him in a dungeon and find the contents of the syringe," you say. The gaurds grab a wailing Adonis and his severed arm as you watched with no certain reaction other then in disgust an arm is now bleeding upon your carpet. "Was such an action truly necessary?" Dainslief inquires with annoyance, observing Ayato's disdainful flick of blood from his garments, akin to a wealthy man from getting in contact with someone from a lower social status.
"She remains unharmed, does she not?" Ayato responds with a contemplative hum.
"Her dress would have been ruined... had the celestial knights truly embodied their celestial nature like CELESTIA knights rather than behaving like savages," Dainslief clarified. Ayato's eyes narrowed in offense as he mockingly bowed, placing a hand over his chest, clearly expressing his disapproval of Dainsleif's choice of words as he mockingly smiles. "Oh I apologize perhaps we should reenact the scene? Would you prefer a guard to portray the fontainan while I assume the role of the lady?" Ayato's sarcastic tone was evident as he made the suggestion. "It is fortunate that I am not a knight of the royal guard, but instead the personal knight of the madam," Ayato remarked, causing Dainsleif to growl in response to his sarcasm.
"Alright, that's enough," you said with annoyance, as you rubbed the bridge of your nose with your thumb and index finger in response to the ongoing bickering. The men immediately ceased their banter and shot one last glare at each other before obediently awaiting their orders. Ayato then turns to you bowing his head. You shake your head, having a feeling that those who seek your downfall would want you to cower and hide away. You refuse to show them any weakness because you are destined for the throne, you needed to be crowned before anything could happen. "Let us begin the ceremony..." Before turning and walking off you noticed something in the corner of your eye turning to Ayato who tilted his head in confusion. Raising your hand you gently wiped away the blood from his cheeks, causing him to momentarily flinch before revealing a charming smile. "First, Ayato, please clean the blood off of yourself," You say, ayato merely nodded obediently. "Of course....I wouldnt want to steal the show no?" Ayato chuckled. Dainsleif squinted, displeased by your contact with the hydro man. Clearing his throat, he extended his hand. "My lady," he says gaining your attention away from Ayato. You smiled at the royal knight captain as you took his muscular arm and as you were both about to walk away Dainslief nodded in agreement looking up and down at him. "Ensure that you get cleaned up,"
You then paused turning to Ayato "Please hurry, Ayato. I will not commence until you are present as well" You shift your gaze to the male, who smiles obliviously as Dainslief's lips briefly curl upwards before returning to their usual thin monotone expression as they leave. Ayato, on the other hand, directs a smile with a tic mark on his face, his face darkens at the man with captivating starry eyes.
