I kept chanting in my mind as I put the final touches of my outfit before proceeding to wear my shoes. The shoes were just ordered today which means they're brand new.

I've never really thrown a party and invited the whole of my class before. Sometimes I don't feel like celebrating it at all, because the day after my birthday is a day that is very grieving to me.

My mum's death day.

I looked at myself in the mirror again before I exhaled and grabbed my cologne from my dresser and applied it.

"Senior man, na you we dey wait for before this party fully start." Dexter said barging into the room.

"Yeah I'm ready." I responded unenthusiastically as I sauntered after him. He halted in his steps and gave me a look.

"See ehn, me I no like this your tone and body language. Abi you aren't excited?" He asked me, scrutinizing me from head to toe.

"Yeah I am."

"Oga stop this thing oh, what is with you and three letter words?" I rolled my eyes at his question, what is his own and bombarding me with questions.

"Can we go?"

"You see, you are doing it again. Another three letter word." I ignored his statement and walked towards the door before opening it.

If he likes he should stay there and be asking JAMB question.

I could already here the music sounding as I descended the stairs leading to the party. My dad decided that I should hold the party here, one of the event halls he owns.

"Just another regime to show off." My subconscious chided and I couldn't agree more.

I spotted my classmates as soon as I reached the last step, they were all in corners either dancing or doing whatever inappropriate stuff. Dexter finally came down. No oh he for sleep there.

Dexter announced me arrival, at that moment our classmates came rushing up to us, hailing me, passing me fake smiles and the rest. I couldn't possibly care about them.

My eyes were out, looking for one particular person. Immediately I saw her my kidney started failing. She looked very beautiful. Infact beautiful was an understatement, she looked like an angel. She was dressed in a gown that hugged her body like a second skin and her face was free from makeup unlike some people who overdid the makeup until they looked like pennywise.

I looked at her again and passed her a small smile which she reciprocated highlighting her features. A tap on my shoulder drew my attention away from her, I looked at the person in annoyance can't they see I was admiring something beautiful.

Empress was in front of me looking at me with a blank look on her face. What is this one again? I had no intention to invite her to this party but my dad insisted saying it was a great way to talk. Talk my foot.

"Happy birthday Derrick."

Her voice came out sultry. A few months ago I would have loved that voice and how it turned me on but now I felt slightly irritated.

Despite the uncomfortable feeling I had I still managed to respond. "Thanks."

I made to sidestep her and go meet Sonia but a hand on my wrist stopped my movements. Empress appeared in front of me again with a small box which was wrapped in a purple wrap.

"Save my gift for later." She purred in my right ear before sauntering away.

I stood confused for a minute before I looked at the box in my hands. I shook my head before I discarded the gift with the pile of gifts in the corner.

"Guy over here." Dexter called, I searched the crowd and found him seated on a couch alongside with some ballers in our class. I sat down on the couch as soon as I reached there.

"Here." A guy who I didn't know presented a cigarette stick to me. I looked at it for a while before taking it off his hands. Its been long I had it anyway.

Stay by Melvitto and Gabzy started playing and all the girls went wild.

A girl who I didn't recognized came closer to our table and started to whine her waist. I tried to stifle my laughter, the girl literally had nothing.

"Guy wetin be this na! No dey show us bone." Dexter exclaimed and the other guys seated with us burst into a hysterical laughter including me.

The girl looked embarrassed for a moment before composing herself and walked away silently.

"You come dey show us your skeletal frame asper wetin happen?" Dexter commented again and we burst out laughing again, this boy na werey.

"Omo see that girl na." One of the boys on the couch said and we all turned to the direction of a girl I know very well whining her waist to the beat of the song.

Sonia.

She was dancing so seductively. Her waist moved in slow motion as she swayed her hips left to right. Onlookers, mostly boys watched in awe as she moved her body to the rhythm.

Immediately she stopped dancing and I noticed a shady looking guy approached her whispering something to her. Now this piqued my interest.

The guy whispering something to her didn't look like any of my classmates or someone who attended KIHS. He gave Sonia a red plastic cup before whispering something to her ear which made her giggle.

The sight made my blood boil, why is she laughing with a stranger. The guy proceeded to walk away while gesturing for Sonia to follow him.

I remained furtive in my seat praying she doesn't follow him. But my prayers weren't answered as she followed him.

WTF!

I concluded she might be drunk, because Sonia wouldn't probably just follow a stranger like that. Something smells fishy.

I made way to get up so I can follow them. I kept my eyes on them making sure I don't miss we're their heading to. But my plans failed as someone obstructed my view. I made way to go but a voice stopped me.

"Where you dey go?" I rolled my eyes, why must it be now that Dexter must come here.

"It's time to cut the cake." He continued when he noticed I made no attempt to respond to his question.

I looked around and I saw no trace of Sonia and the dude again.

Fuck!

"You look tensed, is everything okay?"

"Yeah I'm good, let's go cut that cake now. Shall we?" I managed to put on a smile that I was sure didn't reach my face.

Cutting the cake took nothing more than five minutes, so I was done in no time. My classmates sang the birthday song for me with all fakeness. I'm pretty sure only a few sang the song from their heart.

After the cutting of the cake I proceeded to look for Sonia, but she wasn't anywhere to be found. I decided to check upstairs since I didn't check it yet.

I ascended the stairs and looked around frantically, I found a door which was slightly opened ajar. I could hear sounds coming from there.

"Fuck!"

"Yes baby"

"Faster"

CHINEKE!

I slowly opened the door to check who might be fornicating.

To my surprise, I saw Empress who was almost half naked with a guy inside her. Her moans even became louder when the guy started going faster.

I quickly closed the door to prevent me from throwing up. I walked away from there as soon as possible.

I saw another door wheverwas also opened slightly. I decide to check it and found the biggest shocker ever.

Dexter and Flora were kissing passionately.

What in the...

When I noticed that Dexter was about to take his shirt off I quickly shut the door.

E be things.

Another door which was adjacent to others was closed. I decided to go downstairs and search for Sonia there since I've only walked into scenes of people fornicating.

A whimper stopped me right in my tracks, it came right from the door. I decided to ignore it but someone saying 'help', that voice sounded to familiar. When the voice spoke again it confirmed my thoughts.

It was Sonia.

Trepidation filled my system immediately. I hope that guy isn't trying anything funny. I turned the knob of the door but it was locked.

Without thinking twice I crashed into the door, causing it to break out of the hinges. The sight I saw when I entered the room left me infuriated.

Sonia's clothes were torn and the idiot was forcing himself on her. Oblivious to my presence.
