synopsis | In another universe, Bobby and Karen Singer's argument did not concern wanting children, but taking care of the six children they'd already had. Believing he broke everything he touched, the patriarch of the family wished to distance himself for their own good before any real damage could be done. Three days later, change did come, just not like one any expected. Demon possession tore the family apart, but consequently drove them closer together. For with the loss of the family matriarch, the family business was started. Twenty-three years later, one family business grows intertwined with another as hunters band together to fulfill their motto of saving people while saving themselves in the process.

Lady Anne of the English courts was brought in and adopted by the royal family before she could even walk. Many viewed the merciful act as bizarre, but as the young lady grew in beauty and grace, all thoughts of her belonging were forgotten. It seemed that the royal family's graces were bound to come due though as the girl finds herself in a position of forming a peace treaty with one of their foreign relations. Running away from her betrothed on the day of her wedding, she finds herself kidnapped by a ragtag crew of pirates who plan to either auction her off or keep her hostage until a reward sum is posted. It doesn't help her odds when her brother is caught too, suddenly England might be without an heir as the two are dragged across the seven seas for the adventure of a lifetime.

III. THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT

There's just one problem. Her father can't seem to let her go. One phone call changes everything and the next thing she knows, she's chasing a fugitive through time alongside a historian, a soldier, and a scientist to preserve everything she's worked so hard for. Every step they take creates risk because according to the butterfly effect: changing one thing changes everything.

IV. JUNO REGINA

synopsis | Juneaux understood that her luck would eventually run out. One could only add their name to the pot so many times before it was drawn: that's where the odds truly lie. However, the capitol's little slogan certainly rubbed salt into the wound as a single slip of paper practically announced her death. Would anyone miss her? Unlikely. It was just herself and her father living in a one-story home within the confines of district nine. Although she was the primary caretaker of the home, her father's illness had grown to the point where he was clinging to life with each raspy breath. Once her father ultimately passed, following the path of her mother and younger brother, she would be utterly alone. So what was the point in fighting fate? Hardly anyone expected the seventy-second hunger games to last nearly nine weeks, but during that time she may just find she has more fight within herself than originally anticipated.

V. SNAKE EYES

synopsis | In gambling, Snake Eyes is a term most usually try to avoid. In the wizarding world, the color green is viewed with the same cautiousness. The word Slytherin left a bitter aftertaste in the mouth of many, mostly because it was associated with the dark lord himself. However, that doesn't mean it was wrong to be wary of them. Their ambition and drive often burned bridges that Hufflepuff reserved for friendship. They were only perceived as cowardly because they were not as rash as Gryffindor with their bravery. And their knowledge was reserved for things they believed important for getting ahead in their own achievement rather than storing up everything within sight like a Ravenclaw might. What many ignore though is that Slytherin is not inherently evil. Sometimes that belief works toward their benefit, but that doesn't mean its true. But when the world is jamming the same thing down your throat, you have to swallow every once in a while. From there it doesn't take long to believe the lies spreading quicker than wildfire. But just maybe, there are benefits to rolling snake eyes at times.

As you may have guessed, the theme for this graphic
contest is fall / autumn. Most of these stories either
have an autumn color scheme or simply possess fall
vibes—whether it's the vibes of sitting by the fire
after spending the day at a pumpkin patch or spooky
horror is up to your own interpretation. Feel free to
