WANDA let out a tired sigh and walked into the living room holding Tommy in her arms, trying her best to get him to stop crying and go to sleep.

"Sweet, sweet, Tommy, don't you wanna sleep?" She looked down at him. "Because I do. I want to sleep."

Tommy continued crying and tugged on her hair, making Wanda let out another sigh.

"If you go to sleep, I promise you'll be my favourite twin." Wanda whispered.

Carson walked down the stairs with Billy in his arms, letting out a laugh as he heard what Wanda said. "That won't work Wands, I already tried to bribe them both with that trick. And besides, you know we love them both equally."

"Well, don't tell him that!" Wanda covered Tommy's ears and looked at her husband. "No luck with Billy?"

"Nope." Carson replied, popping the P. "He's a stubborn one."

Wanda raised a brow. "I wonder where he gets that from."

"Behave." Carson warned playfully. He walked over to Wanda, gently swaying side to side as he chuckled. "May I have this dance, Mrs. Swan?"

"I thought you'd never ask." Wanda giggled and walked closer, doing the same. "Y'know it's almost like we're on a date."

"I seem to recall our dates usually going a different direction." Carson smirked. "Although, there's still plenty of time for that once the gremlins go to sleep."

A light blush creeped it's way up on Wanda's cheeks and Carson grinned at the sight. Before Wanda could come up with a reply, Tommy started to cry again which caused Billy to cry too.

"Carson, would you mind grabbing their binkies?" Wanda asked him.

Carson gave Wanda a quick kiss before moving over and setting Billy down in his crib. "Sure Wands."

Once Carson had walked into the kitchen, Wanda set down Tommy in his crib too and took a step back so she could look down at them both.

"Now, I know parents aren't supposed to take shortcuts. But I think this situation calls for one, don't you?" Wanda said quietly. "So, go to sleep, my babies."

Wanda attempted to use her powers to help the boys sleep, but it didn't work.

Her face scrunched up in confusion and she shook her head, trying it again. "And... go to sleep."

Once again it didn't seem to work and Wanda's confusion only grew more. The twins did stop crying however, but instead started to giggle.

"Well I don't think it's very funny." Wanda placed her hands on her hips. "Why won't you do what I want?"

Carson walked back in the room, throwing up one of the binkies in the air and catching it. "Hm, what's that Wands?" He asked as he passed them over to Wanda.

"Nothing, nothing." Wanda gave him a smile before she reached down to give the dummies to the boys.

The crying stopped and the couple both tensed up as they froze on the spot, waiting a few seconds to see if the noise level would stay like that.

Wanda looked at her husband. "Look, I think it's w—"

She was cut off by her own gasp as Tommy and Billy both spat out their dummies, one hitting Wanda's chest while the other hit Carson right in the face.

Carson pursed his lips. "Nice shot."

Wanda turned to Carson and rested her forehead against his chest, letting out an annoyed groan. Carson huffed and his head dropped too, landing down on Wanda's shoulder.

"Carson?" Wanda said into his chest.

"Mhm?" He hummed back in response.

Wanda picked up her head and looked at him. "What are we doing wrong?"

"Don't worry, Wands. We'll figure the little gremlins out." Carson assured her. "Maybe they're just not used to us yet? I don't really know how babies work..."

"Maybe." Wanda nodded. "Or what if we just need some help?"

The doorbell rang and before Carson or Wanda could go to the door to answer it, Agnes opened it herself and waltzed inside. Carson's face scrunched lightly when he saw who it was and he rolled his eyes.

It was too early for him to deal with all the overly happy bullshit.

"Hiya, kids!" Agnes exclaimed.

Wanda smiled. "Hi, Agnes." She looked over at her husband who was stood at her side, lightly nudging his side to get him to say something.

Carson shot Wanda a look before turning his attention to the brunette. "Morning."

The older woman set her bag down on the couch. "I was just on my way to Jazzercise when I heard your new little bundles of joy were on a sleep strike."

"And who told you that?" Carson asked curiously.

"Uh, my ears." Agnes shrugged.

"Right." Carson nodded slowly. "So you just decided to drop in—"

He stopped talking when Wanda slid her hand onto his arm, giving it a light squeeze to silently tell him to be quiet. Carson let out a sigh, yet still obliged and Wanda started tracing random patters on his arm with her fingers out of habit.

"Anyway." Agnes continued. "Auntie Agnes is here and I've got a couple of tricks up my sleeve."

Wanda let out a relieved breath. "Oh Agnes, you're a lifesaver."

Carson glanced over at his boys for a second. "Just... be careful with them, alright?"

The twins continued crying and Agnes paused, looking between the couple with a lost expression. It was as if Carson's answer took her by surprise, that she wasn't expecting him to actually say anything.

"Do you want me to take that again?" She asked, looking directly at Wanda.

Wanda and Carson glanced at one another, exchanging a confused look.

"I'm sorry?" Wanda questioned.

"You want me to hold the babies...?" Agnes checked. "Should we just take it from the top?"

"Agnes, what are you talking about?" Carson's brows furrowed.

Wanda chuckled dryly. "Oh, don't be silly." She looked up at Carson. "Carson, let's... let's get Agnes to give it a try."

Agnes laughed. "Fussy babies, meet buns of steel. We dare you to stay awake."

With that, Agnes walked over to the twins' cribs and started her attempt at getting them to stop crying. Carson took Wanda's hand and pulled her to the side.

"What was that about?" Carson said quietly.

"What was what?"

"That, with Agnes." Carson gestured over to the woman.

"Well I think she just got confused for a moment." Wanda shrugged. "She seems fine now."

Carson shook his head. "But what she said, the way the looked at you. She wasn't just confused Wanda."

"Well, how did she look at me?" Wanda asked.

Carson's eyes darted over Wanda's shoulder and she noticed, turning around to see what he was looking at. Agnes was making sure to get in her Jazzercise as she was lunging between the two cribs, spraying some sort of perfume into the air.

Agnes looked over at the couple. "Lavender, it's supposed to have a calming effect. Ralph sprays it on me every night. But there's no taming this tiger."

"What a strange woman." Carson mumbled under his breath.

"That's not fair." Wanda whispered to him. "She's only being a good neighbour and trying to help Carson, what's your problem with her?"

Carson scoffed. "Oh come on Wanda, are you seriously telling me you didn't see what I saw?"

"Don't mind me." Agnes' voice broke the two out of their bubble and they looked over once more, seeing her rooting through their cabinet that held the alcohol. "I'm just looking for your dark liquor."

"Sorry, what?"

"Not for me." Agnes assured. "For the twins. What kind of babysitter do you think I am?" She closed the cabinet door and walked into the kitchen. "I'm just going to check in here."

Wanda turned back to Carson and placed her hands on his shoulders. "Dorogoy, the boys haven't slept in days and we haven't either. You and I both need a break and Agnes is just being neighbourly, that's all."

Carson looked away from Wanda and she frowned, but it wasn't because he was ignoring her or because he was mad. It was the sudden silence that caught his attention.

"Do you hear that?" Carson looked around the room.

"Hear what?" Wanda's brows stitched together in confusion.

He pointed towards the cribs. "Absolutely nothing."

Wanda gasped. "They finally fell asleep!"

The two of them walked over to the cribs to look down at their sleeping children. But to their surprise, the boys weren't there.

"Wands?"

"Yeah..."

"Where the hell are our children?"

Shuffling was heard coming from behind them.

"Mommy?"

"Daddy?"

Wanda and Carson turned around, looking down and seeing the two toddlers stood by the steps. The couple both shared a look, both of them being in utter shock as to what just happened.

"Kids." Agnes spoke up. "Can't control 'em. No matter how hard you try."

He ignored Agnes' comment and turned his attention back to his kids, chuckling as he watched them run over into their embrace. Wanda picked up Tommy while Carson picked up Billy.

"Now," Carson smiled and looked between the twins. "You two gremlins gotta tell me how you just did that."

AFTER A few more check-ups, scans and a conversation with Jimmy Woo and Darcy Lewis, Monica Rambeau was now back in her SWORD uniform and wasted no time in heading over to the main room so she could take part in the briefing.

Monica's shoulder was barged into as an agent hurried past her, a phone clutched tightly in his hand. She kept her eyes on him and watched as he approached Hayward, holding the phone out for him to take it.

"What is it?" Hayward asked as he looked down at the phone, not showing any signs of wanting to take it.

"He's on the line again." The agent informed him.

Hayward looked around at everyone before taking a step closer, lowering his voice a little. "Have you said anything to him?"

"No sir." The agent shook his head quickly. "But he isn't happy. He said he wants to know what the hell is going on with his son."

"Put him on hold." Hayward ordered. "And keep him like that for the rest of the day. This doesn't concern him."

The agent shuffled on his feet nervously. "You want me to put him on hold...?"

"Oh, come on." Hayward scoffed. "Tony Stark doesn't scare you does he?"

"No, no, not at all sir it's just..." The agent paused. "Maybe we should tell him something. We've been quiet on him since before this whole Westview situation. If we don't tell him about his son he could get suspicious—"

"Mr. Swan isn't his son. They're co-workers." Hayward chuckled. "Now if you don't want to put him on hold, that's fine. I could always find another operative to take your place."

The agent let out a defeated sigh. "That won't be necessary sir. I'll deal with it now."

Monica watched as the agent walked away into another room and Hayward seemed to notice her entrance.

"Good morning Captain Rambeau." He gave her a nod. "Let's begin."

Everyone in the room gathered around the table that was in the middle of the room and Hayward stood at the top, looking around at the agents before getting on with what he was saying.

"We are now assessing a clearer picture of this crisis." Hayward began. "And thanks to Captain Rambeau, we now have first-person intel from inside the Westview Anomaly. Our initial theory had Wanda Maximoff as one of the many victims but we now know that she is the principal victimizer."

Jimmy Woo stepped up to the table and started to pull up the information he had gathered at the request of Hayward.

[ A/N: I'm changing Wanda's age a little as in this story she was a teen when Ultron happened ]

"Quick history on our subject." Jimmy started as he pressed a button, many files, images and videos of Wanda coming up. "Born in Sokovia in 1998 to Irina and Olek Maximoff, both killed during an air raid when Maximoff and her twin brother, Pietro, were ten."

"The twins were subsequently radicalized, volunteering at HYDRA." Hayward added.

Jimmy's brows came together. "It's an oversimplification of events, but, yes. Moving on, after unspecified experimentation with the Mind Stone, Maximoff gained telekinetic and telepathic abilities."

"Back up Jimmy." Hayward cut in. "Does Maximoff have an alias?"

"No, sir."

"No funny nickname?"

"Not a one."

"And earliest tracking had her using her powers against the Avengers. Isn't that correct?" Hayward questioned.

"Right, before she earned their trust and became one herself." Jimmy nodded.

Hayward took control of the media that was being shown and switched it to footage of the Lagos incident along with the airport battle in Germany.

"Lagos and Germany, we all know how that turned out." Hayward raised a brow at Jimmy and gestured for him to return back to his spot. "That'll be all."

Monica watched from her spot as a video from the Lagos news broadcast displayed. It cut to a shot of Wanda looking up at the building in utter terror, along with Carson running over and catching her in his arms as her knees buckled beneath her.

"Now that we have the lay of the land, let's talk about strategy." Hayward told his team and paused the video. "It's the policy of the US government to never negotiate with terrorists—"

"Wanda's not a terrorist." Monica chimed in.

Hayward let out a light scoff at her interruption. "By your own account, you described the experience of being under her mind-control as..." He looked down at his notepad. "Excruciating, terrifying, a violation."

Clips of Monica's time as Geraldine in the hex was played throughout the screens in the room. Monica inhaled sharply and shook her head.

"My point is, I don't believe that she has a political agenda or any inclination toward destruction."

"Monica, with all due respect, she blasted you halfway across New Jersey." Hayward quipped.

Monica huffed. "And I survived because she chose to protect me."

"She's holding thousands of people hostage."

"It could've been thousands more if she hadn't put up her own quarantine." Monica held her ground. "Listen, I don't believe this is a premeditated act of aggression."

"You don't?" Hayward rolled his eyes. He gave a nod to one of his agents. "Bring up the visual."

The videos that were being displayed on the table prior disappeared and were now replaced by security footage.

"This morning I received authorisation to share this highly-sensitive material from SWORD headquarters. Until very recently, it was the top-secret location of Carson Swan's body."

Monica took a step closer and watched as the security footage showed Wanda smashing the glass of the observation booth she was stood in before dropping down to the main floor and blasting away the guards that were aiming at her.

"When was this?" Monica questioned.

"Nine days ago." Hayward informed her. "Maximoff stormed our facility, stole Mr. Swan's body and resurrected him."

"But that's in direct violation of Section 36 B of the Sokovia Accords." Jimmy spoke up.

"And Mr. Swan's own living will." Hayward said. "In her grief, Maximoff disregarded that."

An agent cleared her throat. "But I thought that Swan wasn't d—"

"That's it for now." Hayward cut her off. "Let's work the problem, people. Dismissed."

Hayward and all the other agents left the room, leaving Monica, Darcy and Jimmy alone.

"But how did she even do it?" Jimmy looked between the two. "Bring him back after the stones took over his body?"

"Who knows?" Darcy shrugged. "But the real question is..."

The trio all gathered around the small TV that was playing the latest episode of the two Avengers' sitcom.

"What happens when he learns the truth?"

CARSON made his way downstairs and walked into the kitchen, finishing doing the buttons up on his shirt as he walked through the house. He opened up the kitchen door and smiled at the twins who instantly perked up at the sight of him.

"Morning gremlins." Carson ruffled their hair.

He looked up at Wanda who was already smiling at him, however his brows came together in confusion when he saw the small dog in her arms. "Morning... dog? Who's this?"

"We're not quite sure, actually." Wanda shrugged and set the dog down on the floor.

After a few seconds of sniffing around, the dog seemed to get curious and walk into the living room. Billy and Tommy both giggled and ran after the dog, wanting to play with him.

Once the boys had left the room, Carson gripped the bridge of his nose and sighed. "We're gonna end up getting a dog now, aren't we?"

Wanda chuckled and walked over to him, draping her arms over his shoulders while Carson rested his hands around her waist.

"Hi." Carson smiled down at her.

Wanda hummed and leant in, pressing her lips against his. A small sigh managed to escape her mouth when she felt Carson's hands slowly start to slide down her hips. She subconsciously pushed her body further against him while moving her hands up to the back of his neck.

Carson smirked and moved Wanda's hair behind her ear, starting to trail soft kisses along her jaw and down her neck.

Wanda moved a hand to the back of his head, her grip tightening in his hair as her eyes fluttered closed due to the feeling.

"Wait, what about—" Wanda whispered shakily. "What about the boys?"

"They're outside with the dog." Carson said between kisses. He walked the two of them backwards, pulling away when Wanda's legs hit the counter. "If you want me to stop I will."

Wanda chuckled lightly as her chest was heaving up and down. She lightly tugged on Carson's shirt to bring him closer. "I never said that, now did I?"

Carson grinned and picked Wanda up, setting her down on top of the counter. He moved his face down so they were merely inches apart.

"I'm gonna need you to keep quiet." Carson whispered. "You think you do that for me love?"

"Y-yes." Wanda nodded quickly as her teeth sunk into her bottom lip.

Carson's eyes flicked down to her lips for a moment. "That's my girl."

He tilted her head up with his finger so she was looking at him and leaned down, kissing her softly for a few seconds before moving his attention back towards her neck.

Wanda's breath hitched in her throat when he reached a certain point on her neck and her body jolted forwards a little, pressing against Carson's front.

Carson looked up at her with a smirk. "Right here?"

"Please." Wanda whispered.

Wanda's hands found their way back to his shirt and she started to untuck it from his pants. Carson pulled back and looked down at what she was doing, smirking in amusement when he met her eyes.

"Someone's eager, hm?" Carson quirked a brow.

Wanda let out a whine at the lost contact. "Shut up."

Carson chuckled and moved the strap of Wanda's overalls off her shoulder while Wanda continued working on the buttons of his shirt.

"Tommy wait for me!"

The two of them froze and looked at each other with widened eyes as they heard multiple sets of footsteps running through the house, along with the front door closing.

Carson quickly put the straps of Wanda's overalls back onto her shoulders and Wanda fumbled, trying to redo the buttons on Carson's shirt as fast as she could.

Once everything seemed to be back to normal, Carson lifted Wanda off the counter and set her back down. Which was just in time considering as soon as her feet touched the floor, the kitchen door burst open.

The twins ran inside along with the dog following them, seeming to be in a giggling fit with one another.

Wanda pointed at a random spot on the floor. "Um, yeah that."

Carson nodded along with the act. "Ohhhh right... that's what you were talking about. I see it now."

They both turned around and looked at the twins. "Hi boys!"

Billy bounced on his feet excitedly and pointed to the dog. "Can we keep him?"

Tommy joined in. "Please."

Carson let out a sigh of relief at the fact they didn't seem to pick up on anything. He looked down at the dog, his eyebrows raising in surprise when he didn't see it wearing a collar.

"Hm." Carson hummed and looked at Wanda. "He doesn't have a collar."

Wanda picked up the dog and checked for herself. "Now, boys, taking care of a living thing is a big responsibility. Dogs need food, exercise, training...." She looked down at the dog and started stroking it, a smile forming on her face. "Belly rubs, cuddles and kisses between his little ears."

Carson smiled at the sight before looking around the kitchen. He did like the thought of keeping the dog seen as it seemed to make the boys so happy. But realistically, they wouldn't have the time. Carson would be at work, Wanda would be too busy and the twins were too young for a responsibility like this.

And besides, they didn't have anything in the house to be able to look after it.

He sighed. "We don't have anything here for him to be properly looked after—"

The back door opened and Agnes walked inside, holding a dog house along with some dog toys. "Hi, kiddos!"

Carson's brows furrowed at the sight. "How convenient..."

"My kitchen window told me somebody got a dog!"Agnes walked over to the twins. "Did you name him yet?"

"How about sniffy?" Billy suggested.

The dog jumped up at one of the plug sockets and it sparked a few times, making it retreat and run back over to the boys.

Agnes looked around at them all. "How about sparky?"

Wanda chuckled. "Well, should we make it official?"

Wanda lifted up her hand and waved it around, making a dog collar appear in her free hand. Carson's eyes widened, in complete shock at the fact Wanda had just used her powers in front of Agnes.

Once Tommy had taken the collar and walked back over to where Agnes and his brother were stood with Sparky, Carson grabbed Wanda's arm and pulled her aside with him.

"What are you doing?" He whisper-shouted. "Agnes was right there!"

"She didn't notice." Wanda shrugged nonchalantly. "I mean, come on, she didn't even realise when the boys went from babies to five-year-olds."

Carson huffed. "That's not the point Wanda. We both agreed that we'd keep our powers a secret and you just completely ignored that."

"Well, I'm tired of hiding Carson." Wanda told him, placing her hand on his cheek. "And maybe you don't have to either."

Carson took Wanda's hand off his face and held onto her wrist. "Wanda... you and I are normally on the same page when it comes to these things, but right now..." He paused for a moment. "What aren't you telling me?"

Wanda blinked a few times, clearly taken back by his question. She opened her mouth to say something but before she could get it out, the boys walked over to them.

"So, is Sparky our dog, Daddy?" Billy asked.

"Oh, uh." Carson cleared his throat. He scratched the back of his head, trying to think of what to say to him. Wanda noticed his hesitation and decided to speak up.

"Boys, your father and I don't think you're ready to properly take care for an animal until you're at least..."

"Ten." Carson coughed.

Wanda nodded. "Ten years old."

Tommy and Billy looked at each other, mischievous grins growing on both their faces.

Carson looked between them both. "Now hold on a minute."

Wanda shook head head quickly when she realised what they were thinking. "Wait, no, no, no."

Within the blink of an eye, Tommy and Billy both grew from five year olds into ten year olds.

Agnes chuckled. "Let's just hope this dog stays the same size."

Carson looked at the boys in complete astonishment as to what just happened. "How do they keep doing that!"
