// Daniel's Pov //

I finally finished unloading my belongings into the small apartment I now rent out. After my karate tournament, Mr. Miyagi thought it would be a good idea to move away and explore the world. Sure I'll still visit him, he's like family. I still do karate, just less of it now. I moved to a small town in Oklahoma called: Tulsa.

Mr. Miyagi did some searching and said that I should go there. I followed his advise and packed up, taking a bit of money with me and left for Tulsa. At first sight it's not much of a look but I still need to do some exploring and look around.

Maybe I can meet some nice people? There isn't any food in the fridge so I really should go shopping for some. I reach into my back pocket and pull out whatever money I have left.

I sigh quietly, it's not much but it'll do for now I guess. Putting the money back into my pocket, I walk to the door and open it and walk out, making sure to lock the door behind me. I start walking away and down a flight of stairs before finally getting to the entrance and opening then door to leave. It's a nice day out, slight breeze, and bright sun.

Walking down the streets, I look left and right to make sure I don't miss anything close to a market. Finally after twenty minutes of walking around, I find a small gas station and walk into it. I grab a bottle of Pepsi and a few candy bars before bringing them up front to pay. A young boy around my age stands there and scans everything. He places everything into a bag and hands it to me.

"Are you new in town? You don't seem familiar," he says in a southern accent.

"Yeah just moved here actually. The names Daniel."

"Nice to meet you Daniel, my name's Sodapop but you can call me Soda."

"Alright. That's quite the interesting name you got there."

"Yeah my dad liked it. My little brother's name is Ponyboy."

"Very creative names. . . I like that."

"I should really get back to work but come back some time. The shop is never busy."

"Will do Soda. See ya soon."

"Bye Daniel."

I grab the bag and walk out of the shop before waving at Soda and start walking down the road. Smiling lightly, I sit down on a bench and open the bottle of Pepsi, taking a swig out of it. I look up at the sky and stare at the clouds, attempting to see what they look like. They just look like a whole bunch of huge marshmallows to me. Looking back down, I take another swig of Pepsi and open one of the candy bars.

Taking a piece off, I throw it into the air and catch it in my mouth. I eat the rest of the candy bar and put the wrapper into the bag Soda handed me with my items in it. Next thing I know, a blur rushes past me, followed by many others. What is going on here? They playing tag or something?

Thinking nothing of it, I finish my Pepsi and candy bars before throwing away the trash. I set back out for my apartment and walk slowly, taking in the scenery to my new town. The place is quite lovely but I've only seen little of it. I was almost there when I heard a loud crash from the alley way. I turn my head in that direction and stand by the entrance of the alley.

"Keep him still Jack! We don't need him getting away again," someone screamed from the alley, their voice echoing slightly.

Curiosity wins and I step further into the alley way, hiding behind a few boxes. A group of boys surround a motionless body, laying on the ground. What looks like the leader of the group, pulls out something and puts it against the person's skin. What in the world are they doing?! I should really stop them, but it would risk me getting hurt too. . .

Anyway, I jump out from behind the boxes and tackle one of the boys. They thrash around and try to free themselves. With his arms flailing, he manages to get a hit on me. I let go and stand up quickly. The group of boys stand around me, forming a circle and they close in on me.

I roll my eyes and groan. This is gonna end out like some of those movies I saw on television isn't it? The one boy smirks and pulls out what seems to be a switchblade and points it at me.

"Get out of here kid," he growls lowly.

"Why should I? You can't just hurt innocent people who didn't do anything!"

"Oh. . . He knows what he did and this is the price he pays."

He chuckles and moves in closer, the blade getting closer to me. I move my eyes around the circle of people, checking they're positions. Quickly I reach out and grab the blade, it digging into my skin, and turn it back on them. They move back slightly and scowl at me. I jab the blade out, not attempting to hit them but attempting to scare them off.

"You win this round boy, but I will be back," one growls and runs of with his group following behind.

I instantly drop the blade and run over to the boy laying on the ground. Kneeling next to him, I check his pulse. He's alive but he is damaged pretty good. Carefully, I pick him up bridal style and start carrying him to my apartment. Well, where else is he gonna go?

Slowly, I make my way out of the alley and start walking home again. He's pretty light actually so it's easy to carry him. Poor kid, he only looks to be about thirteen or fourteen. My question is, what did he do for the gang of goons to chase after him like that? Finally making it to my apartment building, I carefully walk up the flight of stairs and down the hall to my room.

Using one hand, I reach into my pocket and grab the key, putting it into the lock and twisting. I hear the click and push open the door, grabbing my key and closing the door behind me. I sigh and walk over to the couch, placing the boy onto it and letting him lay there. Quietly, I go over to the bathroom and grab some medical supplies that I used when I did karate, and bandage his wounds. He should be good for now but woah, what a first day in a new town.
