bonus chapter,

i don't want to go

ย ย  "I'M NOT GOING," A nine year old Jasmine yelled at Dewey and Gale, it had been a couple months since the death of her mom and the massacre, and now they were talking about leaving to New York, "I don't want to go, I'm staying here." She had huffed, sitting back down in the sofa, glaring at both adults.

ย ย  Dewey had been about to speak to her, and simply attempt to comfort Jasmine only for Gale to interrupt him, cautiously approaching Jasmine, bending down to her level, "I know that change sounds scary, but you'll like it over there, Minnie." She attempted to reassure her.

ย ย  Jasmine glared, "No."

ย ย  Gale had simply attempt to just bargain with her, "You can stay up late, and have ice cream for dessertโ€”" She was interrupted.

ย ย  Dewey speaking up, "No and no."

ย ย  Jasmine who wasn't even having it, as she had began to ramble angrily to her, "I like it over here, I don't want to go over there, stupid New York." She spat.

ย ย  Dewey furrowed his eyebrows, "Woah, were did you hear that word from?" He had question her.

ย ย  Jasmine remained silent, ". . ."

ย ย  Both adults raising their eyebrows. "Jasmine?" They deadpanned, wondering where she was learning all these bad words from, recently.

ย ย  She huffed in annoyance, "Daddy! He says fuck New York, so, I also say fuck New York." She had stood up from the sofa, and stomped on her Aunt Gales foot, and had rushed out of the way, front door slamming shut.

ย ย  Dewey let out a laugh, "This isn't funny, Dewey. . ." Gale attempted to hold back her laugh, and massaging her own foot, easily mumbling out, "Now we have to chase after her, and who knows where she ran of to." She groaned.

ย ย  Dewey grabbed on his jacket, and already heading out the door with Gale right behind him, "Most likely ran off to Martha Meeks house, and is most likely to be hiding in Chads room." He shook his head in amusement.

ย ย  Gale furrowed her eyebrows, "The little boy who was always there at the hospital?" She had remembered always seeing this little boy, as he was speaking to Minnie, and always bringing her plushies and pokรฉman cards.

ย ย  "Yup. That's the one."

"DON'T LET THEM IN!" Jasmine was blocking Martha's way to the front door, and shaking her head, "They wanna take me away from here, I don't want to leave." She sobbed, and not letting Martha open the door.

The twins were simply silent not really understanding what she means, Martha had gently spoke to her, "Jasmine, I have to open the door, I'm sure they don't want to take you away from here." She assured the girl, and had gently moved her out the way.

Jasmine began to sob, as she had noticed both adults entering, so she had rushed back towards the twins, clinging onto Chad's side who hugged her, she had then tugged his hand and leading them to hide in his room from her now adopted guardians, "Come on, Chad." The two had disappeared.

Mindy felt offended, "Rude!"

The two sighed before Martha raised her eyebrow at them, confusion laced in her voice, "Why is she so upset, Dewey?" Tilting her head, all while Mindy listened in.

Dewey exhaled his breath, "We're leaving Woodsboro, and starting fresh in New York, and we leave tomorrow." He gently said, all while he seen Mindy dropping her plushie on the floor.

She felt herself tearing up, "No!"

Mindy had disappeared from the room, and running away most likely to her brothers room to be with their friend, and so it'll be a harder time for her to leave.

Martha raised her eyebrow, "Is this even a good thing for her? She's a little kid, you two? Change is extremely difficult for kids. . ." She had calmly told them, "Especially, with what she endured recently, healing somewhere else especially for a kid is too much." Retorted to them.

Dewey Riley bit his bottom lip quite anxiously since Martha Meeks had a valid point, especially since Jasmine's dad is here, and in New York, she'll have nothing but just them.

Gale wasn't quite seeing the picture, and speaking up, "It'll be a good thing for, Minnie. She needs a break from this small town." She deadpanned.

Martha had raised her own eyebrow. "You sure it's her who needs the break from here?" She didn't mean to snap.

Gale narrowed her eyes, "Watch the tone."

Dewey shook his head, "Knock it off."

Martha sighed, as this ultimately wasn't her business anymore since she wasn't Jasmine's guardian, "Good luck bringing her back down here, she'll most likely be in Chad's room, and both twins clinging onto her." She knew how much her kids love Jasmine, especially her son.

Dewey nodded his head, "Thanks, Martha."

The afternoon, went ideally not well as it taken them four hours to bring Jasmine Altieri downstairs, as she wasn't letting go of Chad, but neither was he. Both kids were just simply crying, and Dewey felt guilty for this, simply separating them apart from each-other.
