Pond felt a sense of calm as he drove toward Phuwin's house. It had been a while since everything between him and his father Earth had settled down, and though he still preferred to stay at his condo, it was more convenient for work, and his father respected that now. Today was a big day...a business meeting between their companies...and Pond had offered to pick up Phuwin.
He pulled up outside Phuwin’s house and sent him a quick message, “I’m here.” Leaning back into his seat, he felt relaxed, not expecting the sudden knock on his window. Startled, Pond's eyes snapped open, and he saw Tay, Phuwin's father, standing outside. Pond quickly rolled down the window, giving a sheepish smile.
"Good morning, Uncle Tay," Pond greeted politely, though still a little flustered.
Tay, with a curious look, crossed his arms. "Morning, Pond. What are you doing sitting out here? Why don't you come inside?"
Pond, now feeling awkward, fumbled with his words. "Uh, I was just here to pick up Phu—I mean, Phuwin. We have a meeting at the office."
Tay raised an eyebrow with a friendly but insistent smile. "Ah, well, there's no reason to wait in the car. Come in, come in! You can't leave without breakfast, especially after coming all this way."
Before Pond could protest, Tay gently grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the car.
"Uncle Tay, really, it's fine, I..."
"Nonsense!" Tay grinned, leading Pond toward the house. “You can’t do important business on an empty stomach, Pond.”
Pond reluctantly followed but couldn’t help the nervous feeling crawling up his back. He had never been to Phuwin’s house like this, and things between him and Phuwin were still private.
Just as they entered the hallway, Phuwin, who had seen Pond’s message earlier, came out of his bedroom and bounded down the stairs. His eyes widened in surprise, but then his expression softened into a playful grin when he saw Tay dragging Pond toward the dining room.
"Pond!" Phuwin called out cheerfully as he approached, immediately pulling Pond into a warm hug. “I didn’t think you’d be brought in like this,” he teased, ruffling Pond’s hair a little.
Pond, caught off guard, stiffened in the hug and shot Phuwin a look that screamed, What’s happening right now?
Tay, completely unaware of Pond’s inner turmoil, beamed at the two of them. “Phuwin, help your friend get comfortable. Let’s all have breakfast together. It’s been a while since we’ve had a guest!”
Phuwin, enjoying Pond’s flustered state, played along. “Of course, Dad! Pond, let’s sit over here.”
Pond, still in a daze, followed Phuwin to the dining table. As they sat down, New, entered with a bright smile.
"Good morning, Pond! How lovely to see you," New greeted warmly. “How are your parents? Earth and Mix?”
"They’re good, Uncle New," Pond managed to reply, still nervous but touched by the kindness. "It’s been busy, but they’re doing well."
"That’s wonderful to hear,” New said as he gently patted Pond’s head, like he was one of his own children. “You know, after Dunk married, the house feels quieter without him. You should come visit more often; you’re always welcome here.”
Phuwin chuckled softly at his father’s gentle scolding, grabbing Pond’s favorite dish from the table and serving it to him. "Pond’s practically part of the family, Papa. He just needs to be dragged here more often," Phuwin teased.
Pond's eyes darted nervously between Phuwin and Tay. "Uhm, thank you, Uncle New. I’ll try to visit more often." His smile was genuine, but he couldn’t shake the slight tension he felt.
Phuwin leaned in and whispered, “Relax, Pond. They love you. You’ve got nothing to worry about.”
Pond nodded but still felt his heart race every time Tay or New spoke to him. They sat down for breakfast, and the table was filled with warm conversation. Tay asked about work, while New made sure Pond had more than enough food on his plate.
As they were about to leave, New called after them, "You two take care at the meeting, and don’t forget, Pond—you’re always welcome here, anytime."
Pond nodded, feeling warmth fill his chest. “Thank you, Uncle New. I’ll come by again soon.”
Phuwin shot a smirk in Pond’s direction as they finally headed out the door, climbing into Pond’s car. “Well, that wasn’t so bad, was it?”
Pond let out a deep breath, finally feeling at ease. “I think I’m still recovering from being dragged inside, but... your parents are really nice, Phuwin.”
Phuwin leaned over and kissed Pond’s cheek softly. “I told you, didn’t I? They already love you.”
Pond smiled, feeling the tension in his chest melt away as he started the car. "Maybe next time, I’ll go inside willingly."
Phuwin laughed, reaching over to hold Pond's hand as they drove off to the office, feeling closer than ever.
As Pond and Phuwin stepped out of the car and entered the sleek glass doors of Pond's company, their presence commanded attention. Dressed in sharp suits, they moved with confidence and ease, the synergy between them unmistakable. Together, they exuded power—a perfect blend of strength, charm, and intelligence. People couldn’t help but notice how well they fit together, like a power couple stepping into their domain.
Inside the meeting room, the atmosphere was tense but productive. The negotiations between their companies were critical, but Pond and Phuwin worked in perfect sync. Each time one spoke, the other seamlessly followed, their collaboration flawless. It took hours, but by the end of it, everything was settled, and the meeting concluded with a sense of victory.
After shaking hands with the other executives, they both headed to Pond's private office, sharing a quiet smile as they walked side by side. Once inside the office, Pond immediately locked the door behind him. Phuwin turned, a questioning look in his eyes, but before he could say anything, Pond gently wrapped his arms around him from behind. His chin rested comfortably on Phuwin's shoulder as he nuzzled into the crook of his neck, breathing in his scent.
Phuwin tensed for a moment in surprise but quickly relaxed, a fond smile spreading across his lips. He lifted one hand to caress Pond's cheek and let his other hand weave gently through Pond’s soft hair.
"You okay?" Phuwin asked softly, tilting his head slightly to meet Pond’s eyes, his voice laced with gentle affection.
Pond sighed deeply, his breath warm against Phuwin's skin. "I like this... I want to be like this…"
Phuwin blushed at the quiet confession, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. "Like what?" he asked, though he already knew.
Pond tightened his embrace slightly, pulling Phuwin closer, their bodies perfectly aligned. "Like this," he whispered again, his voice a little more vulnerable. "Just us. No business meetings, no other people. Just... you and me."
Phuwin’s heart swelled at Pond’s words. He smiled, warmth spreading through his chest, and he gently turned around in Pond's arms to face him, cupping his face in his hands. Their eyes met, and for a moment, the world outside the office didn’t exist.
“I like this too,” Phuwin said softly, his thumb brushing Pond’s cheek. “I like being with you, just like this.”
Pond’s lips curled into a small smile, his eyes softening as he leaned into Phuwin's touch. "You make me feel... calm," he admitted. "Even after a long day like today, just being near you makes everything feel easier."
Phuwin's blush deepened, and he couldn't help but smile wider at Pond's honesty. "You’re such a softie," Phuwin teased gently, though his own heart fluttered at Pond's words.
"Only with you," Pond replied, his voice low and sincere. He lowered his forehead to rest against Phuwin's, their breaths mingling in the intimate space between them.
For a moment, they stayed like that, lost in the quiet intimacy of the moment. Phuwin traced soft patterns on the back of Pond’s neck, while Pond continued to hold him, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
Pond's gaze lowered, eyes lingering on Phuwin’s lips, a soft, almost absent-minded desire forming in his expression. Phuwin noticed the shift, a playful smile forming on his lips as he caught Pond’s intent. He lifted Pond’s chin slightly, making him meet his eyes.
"Pond?" Phuwin asked teasingly, his voice soft yet filled with amusement. "What’s on your mind? Do you need something?"
Pond, who was lost in the moment, barely registering the teasing in Phuwin’s tone, nodded slightly, still dazed by the closeness between them. "Mm... yes."
Phuwin, curious and intrigued, tilted his head and raised an eyebrow, playing along. "What do you want?" he asked, his tone light but full of warmth.
Pond's gaze flickered from Phuwin’s eyes back to his lips, and without thinking twice, he whispered, "This."
Before Phuwin could respond, Pond closed the small distance between them, gently crashing his lips onto Phuwin's. The kiss was soft, tender, and hesitant at first, as if Pond were savoring the feel of Phuwin’s lips against his. Phuwin's eyes fluttered in surprise at the sudden kiss, but a smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he kissed back, his arms wrapping around Pond's neck, pulling him closer.
The world seemed to slow down around them. Their hearts raced, but the kiss remained gentle, full of affection and unspoken words. It wasn’t rushed or hurried—it was perfect, just like the quiet moments they had shared.
Phuwin smiled into the kiss, his fingers brushing the back of Pond’s neck, deepening the connection between them. Pond, feeling the warmth and softness of Phuwin’s lips, melted into the kiss, a quiet hum escaping him as the rest of the world faded into the background.
