Cancers are very emotional people. They are loyal to a fault and are almost naive in the way of trying to help those they love. However, they can be major jerks—I should know, I'm a cancer. These people can be impatient, manipulative, insecure about themselves, suspicious of others, and they hate conflict. Being creative by any means (especially with art and words), these people will try to avoid conflict at any cost whether that would be sidestepping or not. Plus, if you hurt a cancer or anger them enough, you better run because they don't forgive. They resent then get even if possible. To many people, they may come off as emotionally immature because of the fact that they are so intuned with other people's emotions and aren't sure how to handle it. (There is a reason why I am the pseudo-therapist after all.) To top it all off, all of these negative traits stem from one huge fear—that of rejection. Cancers are so insecure about themselves that they constantly think that they are not good enough and it just never ends well for them.

     As for all of our good traits, it can be summed up in the same way: cancers are very emotional. For all of the negatives that being a cancer could essentially bring about, these people care for others. They would be the ones to call when stuff hits the fan and no-one would be left to willingly help. Cancers are so emotional and caring that they can't express their emotions and will shut down if hurt because of this inability to communicate. Cancers love their families and need to find a place to call their own. Creativity is one of the main personality traits of a cancer due to their very imaginative minds. This lends to their persuasiveness and even manipulation in the long run. Another positive trait is their loyalty which turns to dependability and from dependability to diligence. If you give them a reason to care, they won't stop.

     Now, looking at all of these traits, do I see a resemblance to myself? Yes, yes I do, especially in the more negative aspects. Emotionally, I either shut down or explode, and I care too much. For a long time, I wanted to be a leo because of the fact that they were passionate and brazen; however, the persistence and emotions of a cancer seemed to be a more everlasting passion of the ocean rather than the flickering fancies of a leo. (I should know, I have two leos for sisters.) So, despite its faults, I am rather happy that I seem to be more of a cancer than anything else.
